Sadly, they've changed the menu completely to fairly pedestrian, pasta-heavy offerings. Both of our go-to dishes are gone. We decided not to stay since we already have a few favorite 'Italian' spots in Burbank. It's a shame, because we told everyone about it and went about once a month. Hopefully nobody listened and goes in, only to be as disappointed as we are. On a side note, the font on the new menu is terrible and difficult to read. Not sure what's going on there. Ambiance is fine. Service was still great and the bartender makes great cocktails, but it's not enough to get us to return. A generous 3 stars. read more

New menu was debuted yesterday and I am giving !! I had the Crispy Shitake Bites with Korean BBQ sauce and they were prepared to perfection!! I think I am obsessed! Meat lovers will love them! The texture and seasoning was sooo good! My friend ordered the Mac and cheese bites and I have to say they were the best I have ever had! So creamy, crunchy and cheesy! I ordered my food to go as I wanted to enjoy it in my room. Got the build your own cheeseburger and the Mac and cheese appetizer. The burger comes with a lot of fries and fresh toppings. Sadly, it used one of the gems of Burbank. The newest menu is lacking all of the regular customers favorite items. There is no happy hour or bar menu anymore. Most of the staff has left. The bar is never full of locals enjoying the friendly banter of Dennis. The last few times I have been in he has been serving in the dining room as well as the bar. He was still professional and had a welcoming greeting for everyone. The any changes on the menu have discouraged regular customers and business is very slow. We are staying at the Safari Inn due to evacuation and Olive's is right next door so it's the perfect spot for breakfast. My sister tried Olive's yesterday for breakfast and said it was terrific so we returned today. Our experience was excellent. Eggs perfectly cooked, crispy hash browns, juice tastes fresh squeezed, coffee excellent. Our server was Sandra and she was wonderful. Very attentive, warm and friendly. Visited a few days after Christmas. The menu had changed from the menu published online. Limited menu, Italian dishes instead of a range of California grill selections. Food was amazing. I had salad and meatball appetizer. My mom had the sautéed salmon which was the best she's had in a restaurant and she has ordered the dish all over Burbank. Mushroom burger was savory and satisfying. My son devoured a plate of Alfredo w/ meat ragu. Highly recommend this cozy place. They're open New Year's Eve and New Year's. Easy access and parking. Our first dinner in California was brought to you by Olive's Bistro, located inside the Coast Anabelle Hotel, where my partner and I were staying in Burbank. Upon entering by passing a crowded, vibrant bar, we had the whole place to ourselves at this warm, intimate vibe for a while. The menu was limited to two pages and decided on the French onion soup, Chicken Cobb Salad, and Mushroom Burger. Everything was prepared on-site, from the sauces to the salad dressings to the homemade rolls. The food arrived hot and well-seasoned. The Cobb Salad could easily feed enough for two people. Even though the mushroom burger was specifically listed with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and melted Swiss, it also came with raw onions, lettuce, tomato, and a sauce that was a total letdown and should have stuck with the menu. The price was fair for the amount of food that one got. The staff were very personable, and they made you feel welcome, which we could recommend. read more

Appeared to be a good choice with the yelp reviews but unfortunately for us there was only one person taking and serving food orders. While I was there we had to wait for over 30 minutes and during that time we noticed tables that's showed and ordered after us received their food. They also got our order wrong and it was not up to par with what we had been hoping for. Also, when we were leaving there were still a lot of people who arrived earlier that where waiting to tell the staff their order. My husband and I had been here before and their burgers were good. This time we went in and sat down, and we weren't as thrilled about it. They did not have Ribeye, so we went with the top sirloin. It was okay. The meats were cooked correctly, but it wasn't the best cuts. The cuts also weren't the best, some were really chewy. Everything you'd want in a local place. While staying at the Safari Inn I was referred to the Olive Bistro. Walking in I had not much to go on. The place is clean with no real motif. The food was excellent. We had the coconut shrimp, cheese ravioli, and the rigatoni. It was so good I came back and grabbed the brownie and ice cream for dessert. While waiting for the food, which they offered to bring over to the hotel, I decided to have a drink at the bar. The staff was super welcoming and had genuine conversations with the customers. Isabelle was an all star wearing multiple hats and doing an incredible job. You could easily tell while they had so many regulars. The service was so good not only will I be back if on trips. HOWEVER, I am glad we were the dicks who showed up at closing time because we got to experience Zainab and all of her hospitable greatness. She never rushed us or made us feel like a burden. 3 stars because the service is good, but the food is just okay. Not bad, but in a city where there are several amazing options, this didn't seem like one of them. The plating is outdated, shaping the rice with molds, and cups are a thing of the past. I'd rather have it be well seasoned and portioned. It was not. Sauce on the salmon seemed under seasoned as well. It was cooked right, however. salmon wasn't under or overcooked. The meat (the steak ordered ) was done to the temp requested, medium rare. It's as if the chef is either limited to what they are aloud to season, or it was a mistake on their part. Reminds me of a 70's breakfast diner that is surviving off their loyal customers to date. Cooked well, but bland. Assumingly done so in order to keep thier older customers, or just playing it safe. The service was delightful though. Staff was kind and patient. Everyone seemed to be smiling and having a good presentation. I will eventually try this place again, as based on what others have told me, this could have been a one-off situation. I am going to give it some time though, as the competition in Burbank and the surrounding area is pretty fierce, and I have more to try. I'd suggest maybe taking a little more risk with the menu and getting rid of the moldings. Just make sure it's well seasoned. read more

Have been living in Burbank almost 40 years and our dear friends that invited us for drinks and a bite are both born and raised here yet NONE of us had ever step foot inside this gem! We sat in the bar area for the evening of my pre-birthday celebration. We ordered 2 cheese burgers, fish and chips and sliders. All came perfectly plated, cooked as ordered and everything was delicious!! Every plate went back empty!! Now for the best part of the night! Our bartender extraordinaire and perfect host Dennis!! One of the friendliest and most welcoming bartender we have come across in a very long time. He kept his whole bar entertained and happy. The martinis were perfect! I was hesitant about eating at a restaurant that had no customers after visiting and checking out the place. But a friend of mine who had been going there for years and staying at the Annabelle Hotel said to trust him. So my wife and I were there for dinner and again we were the only customers. The wife had fish and chips and I had the meatloaf dinner which were highly recommended by Dennis behind the bar where we sat. Not only was the food fantastic but the conversation with Dennis who served us was really fun. Also it was quiet and somewhat old school and really clean. What a little hidden gem! This place is practically walking distance and I've never been here. I drive by almost everyday and always wondered if this place was good. I love the cute decor and every single staff member was an absolute delight. Our waiter was so funny, lively and attentive and I wish everyone was like him. We were a group of 6 and the booth was very roomy for all of us to sit. We all enjoyed our food, it was so delicious and I can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu. We also ordered dessert: Banana Chocolate Mousse cake, Cheesecake, and carrot cake. The cheesecake was ok and was a very small slice. The other 2 were huge slices and really tasty. BUT make sure you order the Black Tooth Grin (created by Lord Dimebag Darell of Pantera, it is crown and coke mostly) he makes an awesome one.
