Living in Queens, there arent many options for a great tan. Beach Bum was kinda a disappointment result wise. Popped in this spot twice this week while visiting fam in BK. Cool vibes inside. Girls there super friendly and knowledgeable. Took the time to go over each bed and lotion. The Opensun is amazing. I got super bronze at 12 min. Prices are reasonable and I will be getting a package deal now that I've seen the results. Guess I will be traveling to BK for my rays now. Very pleased. read more

Only tanning salon in Williamsburg that has beds for someone who goes tanning consistently. The bulbs are always being replaced therefore you get the tan that you are paying for. The prices are reasonable especially for NYC and the place is always EXTREMELY clean. They have really affordable packages/memberships and a very helpful staff. I had a really great experience here. I used to tan in the city, and the prices were so expensive and I found myself going broke because of tanning expenses and I only tanned once every 2 weeks! This tanning salon is really much more affordable than the tanning salons I've been to in nyc. There are three bed choices, AND spray tan! If you want a great tan from the bed or the spray - this is the salon to visit. Friendly staff, not pushy. So that's certainly a plus. This place has everything to be amazing but the management, and especially the girls at the front desk are an absolute DISASTER. The girls there (I only saw two of them from the three times I've been there. Two blondes.) are extremely RUDE. They don't smile, they don't even explain wether you should use this machine or the other one. I still like to go there and will still continue going there just because there's unfortunately nothing else in the neighborhood and their prices are pretty low! Such a waste for such an amazing location, clean/cute salon, but only rude people working there! Last time I came I even saw one of the blonde girl (the short chubby one) seating on the couch with a guy- that possibly worked there too, as he was the one that went to get my room ready. She didn't move or say hi, and I literally fell like I was bothering them. Same thing on my way out, when I tried to talk to the girl, she was laying down in the couch and I actually fell bad interrupting her convo with the guy.. I mean first of all, even if there's not a lot of people/ or no people in the salon, you don't have to wait for a customer to come to get the room ready.. Best standard tanning salon in Williamsburg. Beds and salon are clean, staff is friendly, and never too crowded. Pricing is reasonable, and certainly cheaper than comparable tanning salons in Manhattan. $12 for a regular bed session. I guess I'll never get used to the price of tanning in NYC - it always seems like a rip-off, compared to the prices where I grew up in New England - but hey, if you've got to go, go here. Most economical option is the 10-visit package for $100, which drops the price down a bit. No spray-tanning offered here, but I think you've got a choice between a standard bed and a more turbo-style one. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. I go as often as I can for my spray tan. I have tried a couple of other places in the neighborhood and Laryssa, Marie and team surpassed all of them in quality of tan, customer service, and overall the staff is super nice and respectful and accommodating! UPDATE! Just as the owner commented, we discussed many things in person. She was super friendly and very accomidating! She even offered me a free lotion packet for my troubles. Also noteworthy, she has impeccible taste in tanning lotion! As a tanning salon employee myself, I can say she picks the best possible lotions with every variety of price and type. Best tanning experience I've had in NYC, by far. There's a selection of different kinds of nice, new tanning beds to choose from, and I've never had to wait for a bed. The spray tanning is also excellent. The women who do the spray tans make me feel very comfortable-- and they always come out really natural-looking, and they actually last. Coming from manhattan with a plethera of tanning salons, I was initially surprised at how few tanning salons there actually were in Williamsburg. After trying out a few other local spots, we (my girlfriend and I) ended up at Urban Tanz. To be completely honest when I first walked in, I wasnt sure what to expect as it is a fairly small salon... but they have everything you could possibly need and more. There bed selection is perfect, as well as the lotions they carry. I think their prices are definitely reasonable considering I was paying much more in manhattan. As for the staff... I absolutely love them. The owner is super sweet and very helpful when it comes to helping you decide on which packages or lotions to purchase. If you dont follow them on instagram, you should definltely check them out.. all of their posts are hillarious and go along with the fun vibe that the salon carries. Stopped in today to get rid of a case of the Casper's, I haven't been in a couple years because I moved out of the neighborhood. I can honestly say this place is just as great as ever!!! The owner remembered me and was happy to welcome me back! The customer service in this place is off the charts. A welcoming environment without the typical tanning place nonsense you might find in other spots. They even got this new machine called open sun which I highly recommend. I've tried other spots closer to home in Queens and it's just not the same. I get a better tan here and it really is a pleasure to deal with such a wonderful owner. I love love love urban tanz! I've been coming here for years and I send all my friends here and now they come in from the city to Brooklyn just to get the perfect tan here! The staff is the sweetest and so helpful. They know what they're doing! I refuse to go anywhere else. I like to switch up the beds sometimes but each bed does exactly what it's supposed to. This place makes me miss my old tanning salon in the city terribly. I can't understand why weekend hours on a Sunday would be 12-5pm. Also, I have gone by when it was closed despite their 'posted' hours. Most of the time I need to wait for a bed because they only have 1 decent lay down and 2 bottom level lay down beds. ( I don't use the stand up so can't comment on those). Yes, it's clean. The rooms are supposed to be private but they are simply cube style office walls with windows surrounding the room that is covered by blinds. We all know mini-blinds do not exactly close 100% shut. Most of the time I do not care, sometimes I find myself hoping the guy sitting on the couch waiting for a bed is not peeping into my room. I work in the city and honestly can't get here to make the times anymore. I haven't been able to tan there in weeks so I've been going somewhere else in the city. Call before you go. read more

decent salon. 2 lay down options and 1 stand up. the beds were nice and so was the salon. the girl was helpful and didnt pressure me to buy anything. i paid $20 to go the full time in the highest pressure laydown. pricey to me but somewhat cheaper than the city. i smell like burnt skin, so it must be a good sign 8-) alirght by me! read more

There are very few places in the area for an amazing and natural spray tan. Some of them are @ a spa which is very over priced and takes far too long. The color here is prefect and lasts much longer than most. Everyone is very skilled and able to customize your tan to your coloring and your shade preference. You also have the choice of a 2 hour or 8 hour development time...which is very helpful depending on your daily schedule. Highly highly recommended! read more
