Jon is very responsive and communicative, and he shared videos of Ginger living her best life and playing with other dogs. She looked like she was having more fun than she does when I'm around! Cats and dogs, it is not easy to find a cat sitter in San Diego, we no longer could depend on family and friends, so this was a huge weight off our shoulders, now that we have Paws Play, we can go away whenever we want and know that our cat will be well cared for. They were super accommodating, communicative, and they took the best care of our two dogs (who can be needy and a little high maintenance). One dog is a blind senior and the other one is a little anxious due to being a rescue. Each sitter took the time to make sure our pups were comfortable with them and followed the directions we laid out. They sent updates and pictures after every visit, which significantly calmed the helicopter pet parent in me. Special shoutout to Kennedy who became best buds with my usually shy, slow-to-warm-up dog! This was an amazing option to have instead of putting our dogs in boarding (which we all would have been unhappy with). They are great at providing mix-and-match options to keep cost in mind. Keep the eyelashes etc. It took a few hours (as expected) and I was sooooo happy with Gigi's groom by Logan! Logan is so detail-oriented and sooo nice! When I came to pick Gigi up, he kindly came out to bring Gigi out! I also had Winston, (Gigi's bestie) with me since Winston was with us overnight for a pupsleepover! At the salon, they sell treats, dog clothing, dog bed, dog necklaces and shoes, and our fave, the dog cologne by Hydra USA! Logan used Forever Fresh on Gigi and it smelled amazing! I returned a week after to purchase it. There are many other amazing colognes too to choose from. Natashya and Randy assisted me at the front desk and they were so kind and welcoming! We will be back in the future and will also support at the new location! P.S. Parking - street parking with meters. There is a small lot on the left of the salon but I am unsure if those belong to the other businesses or if anyone can park. It's pretty easy though to find parking.

I would've figured that the price point would be a little bit higher since this is a little bit more boutique, but the price was fair and comparable to Petco or PetSmart. The had variety of dog and cat food brands that you will see in other boutique store or large stores so this could be your one stop shop for your pets. Overall we were able to find what we needed and my dog enjoyed her visit here.

We can be around people and dogs without an issue. Loki has been the best boy even in difficult circumstances like other dogs getting in his space while on a walk. Sara even provides follow up training for you so you can be the best partner for your dog.

Until now, we hadn't had any major issues. Today, we had an appointment specifically for the rabies and parvo vaccines. After we got home, our dog vomited five times in a row. We called the clinic, and they had us come back in, where he was given two more injections to address the side effects. While on the way back, I reviewed the invoice and noticed that four vaccines had been administered, not just the two we had scheduled. When I asked why this wasn't communicated, the response was, "Next time, clarify which vaccines you want when you check in." I had already done that. The appointment was booked for two specific vaccines, and I clearly mentioned both at check-in. I was then told they automatically give all due vaccines unless otherwise instructed. If that's their policy, it was never clearly explained to me and I plan to review our past vaccination records to verify the vaccines were actually due. To top it off, we were charged $82 for the extra shots to counter the side effects caused by their lack of communication, bringing the total cost of today's visit to over $300. This visit left us feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. Lack of transparency, poor communication, and a refusal to take ownership of mistakes cost them our trust and our continued business.

This post is in response to William A.'s hurtful and ludacrous "REVIEW" of me. All i was trying to get across to him was my CONCERN FOR HIS PET. Obviously our discussion did not reach his moral compass: I am deeply saddened that one would think that I should "close my doors" due to the simple fact that I refused to torture his Labradoodle puppy for vanity. As I was unaware when the apointment was made that he was indeed matted beyond belief and I tried explaining how detrimental it can be to a 8month puppy to sit there and be dematted and possiby scar him from enjoying the grooming process in the futurem I'm in this business to make dogs *FEEL* and then *LOOK* beautiful in that order. I am NOT in this business to torture your pets to satisfy your vanity. I tried explaining this to Will about his Labradoodle and it was apparent to me that he wasn't wanting to hear that I was refusing to put his puppy in discomfort. Granted a dematting can be done without hurting the pooch but it would be time-consuming and possibly dangerous as his mats were tight against the skin. Puppies don't have the patience to sit thru an 8hour ordeal like that and I raised my prices with you as Labradoodles are a LOT of work and dematting a fully coated Labradoodle is a project that I HAVE done on seasoned ADULT dogs that had the patience. And Will the reason it was hard to book the appointment is my cients LOVE ME and and book throughout the year. They know the quality of work I provide and I care for their dogs. For your to chastise ME for something so ludacrous is appalling. Remember I did refer you to a groomer who MIGHT be willing to do the job. Sadly the case may be that you WILL find a groomer willing to put your adorable puppy through something like that. And I feel for him. And I am sorry you couldn't understand why I was "Whining my way out of the job" Well I do this job because I LOVE IT. Not to torture pets for vanity.... PERIOD read more

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED James is definitely the best of best. I highly very highly recommend James. Very well communication. Long story short, I told James about my dog behavior and that she had bad experience with Grooming in the past. Took her in and 45 minutes later he called me back, let me know he won't be able to handle her. He'd rather send her back to me and referred me to another experienced groomer that dealt with this type of behavior than hurting and forcing my dog suffering through a bad experience with him. He doesn't want to hurt my dog, at all. And as I leave, there's another lady brought in her Golden Retriever. The Gold Retriever was MORE THAN HAPPY. He was super excited when he saw James. You will love James, you WILL! And don't forget the cats part OMG. His CATS ARE WONDERFUL AND OVER FRIENDLY. I wish I can come just to hang out with his cats. read more

I have 2 pretty spoiled mini dachshunds. The long-haired one, needs trimming every 6-8 weeks or becomes a broom to the outside, bringing EVERYTHING in in her coat. I was paying an obscene amount to have her trimmed and then through referral, I found James. 1) he was fabulous with her, 2) he DID NOT charge me a fortune as I had been paying & 3) did a magnificent job with her (spoiled brat, that she is!) I would only entrust my Teddy to Nickie and Doug when it comes to grooming and dogs. It's not only because they are so knowledgable about dogs but also such kind human beings. Plus, dogs coming to Uptown Woofs are gentle and well-behaving. Last but not least, Nickie is so talented at what she does. A lot of people stop me and ask if Teddy is a show dog, and he is not! It took me several places to find a right groomer. We are so glad we found Uptown Woofs.

The owners truly care for each individual dog AND their owners. Recently I had some exciting life changes and Nickie and Doug were so helpful in offering to fit my dog in to suit my new schedule. They send home treats sometimes and post Facebook pics of how much fun they're having. I've heard Nickie refer to their place as "grandma's house" for the dogs and it's true. The animals have fun and get pampered and treated with love. What more could you ask for?? One thing to remember: cash or check only. ;)

When I got Cako in 2017, I came back and made an appointment for her. Yuko still had Zoe's photo on her wall! Cako has a monthly standing appointment with Yuko. She is a dog whisperer! There is no making our girl wait around all day in a crate while they get to her. Also, he is very kind and spends time making her comfortable before each grooming. Angel is experienced in many different types of dogs, and knows how to groom both cocker spaniels and poodles, making him a great candidate for our spaniel mix. He takes our direction and gives her the haircut that we want. Appointments have been quick and easy to schedule. The price is fair and similar to other private groomers in the area. I plan to continue to take Amelia for haircuts and recommend Angel to to others in the area looking for a groomer.

But we took him to a couple other groomers before we found Angel, and he was terrified and barking and yelping the entire time. It was an awful experience for him. When we brought him to Angel, the reviews are true, he is able to calm any dog or out of control puppy (like Preston) down in an incredible way. We never directed him on any sort of 'haircut' per say, I guess now that we always bring him to Preston about every couple weeks, Angel does the best job on the way he grooms him, he always looks fabulous! I can't recommend Angel more for those looking for a private, stress free grooming environment for their dog.
