Not even worth a star. My husband and I had high hopes, in fact he even drove the 20 min. to grab takeout and when he came back home our rice noodle Korean BBQ dish and potstickers tasted like burnt wok oil. Extremely disappointed. Based on the previous reviews it's not even worth us calling to get our money back because it seems like they have poor response to customer complaints. Four of us went to the restaurant this evening. All of us enjoyed our food. It's set up so you can choose your vegetables, proteins, sauces, etc. We got the tikka marsala sauce, which had a nice little kick. We also ordered the potstickers as a side and they were tasty. We tried this place for the first time today3/3. I basically I took a shot due to their awesome reviews. Bigest MISTAKE EVER, our meal was HORRIBLE! Hands down plain OLE NASTY. I just don't understand what's up with the Southerners' taste buds. Being a westerner, obviously, we differ. I could not find one single good thing about our meal . My husband and I chose the build a bowl option, rice noodles, steak (add shrimp) w/ broccoli, cabbage, green onions and the curry sauce , hubby had mango habanaro salsa on the side. The broccoli and noodles were over cooked and smushy, the steak was dry and gritty, the shrimp added cost us $4 extra per meal I got EXACTLY 3 tiny salad shrimp in my meal and my husband didn't have ONE SINGLE SHRIMP. $8 FOR WHAT? Oh, and we had chicken potstickers, I didn't realize someone could actually mess those up. Well, Urban Wok did! Sadly dry and hard. This food experience was probably one of the worst we have had since being in the Carolinas! The restaurant should be liable to RETURN our FUNDS for serving non- edible food. I ordered a delivery from Urban Wok on Killian Rd. I have been supporting this business since it opened and on this occasion my food was delivered to the wrong address. I called the restaurant and told the worker who answered the phone that my food was delivered to the wrong address. All he said was that the door dash person picked up the order. He didn't offer any empathy or apology or anything. After that interaction I will no longer support this business. Food is to high right now and the worker acted like he could care less than I didn't get my order. I can spend my money elsewhere if this the attitude of the workers. read more

The slogan "doing fast food a new way" IS completely misleading. I had never been to Urban Wok before, but for me, it was Urban Walk 10 minutes after attempting to complete my order from a kiosk. The gal behind the counter's only greeting was to tell me they only accept cards. It would have gone better if they had a menu with prices visible on the wall or simply directions on what to do like similar establishments do. I tried to delete an item and ended up erasing the entire order and had to start over. Finally I get to the point of ordering a beverage, but canceled when I find out they only have bottled water. Urban Wok just opened. It is a stir fry, asian fusian dream. You order and pay for your food at the kiosk. You can sample any of the 12 sauces. We tried several. You pick your base ingredient (choose from 8 noodles and rice options), choose your protein, and up to 8 veggies. They also have appetizers and pre-made options. They have beer on tap and several other beverage options. My husband and I loved our choices. The proprietor came out to greet us and accepted our feedback. Highly recommend. Had to grab the take out menu, as my husband suggested I stop and pick up dinner next week. A new favorite for us. read more

I pulled multiple hairs out of my food and when I tried to tell the staff, they were very nasty and told me that there is nobody with grey hair in the kitchen. A couple of cooks were peeking their heads out of the kitchen and they hand longer hair (almost a male bowl cut) WITH NO HAIR NET. They were wearing hats but their hair was clearly too long for that to prevent hairs from getting into the food. They continued to deny that there was hair in the food, so we threw it in the trash and left with no refund. As for the food itself, it was mediocre at best. The steak was very chewy and pale in color. They could have gotten a better review if they had acknowledged the hairs in my food and made it right, but now this is the review that they get. We visited the restaurant (in Northeast Columbia, SC) on Friday, 6/24/22 in mid-afternoon and was very disappointed with the both the quality and quantity of food ordered (asian wings and miso soup). We had already eaten lunch but just wanted to try the place out since we were close by. First, before ordering a single item, no matter what pictures you see on the screens, please make you understand the portion size you will be receiving for the cost you are paying. I did not fully understand this and ended up paying $10 for a 5 oz "cup" of some type of unusual "soup". I don't remember seeing this ridiculous size anywhere before ordering but it was printed in bold on my receipt; when I questioned the size upon receiving my order. You will need to also understand that your actual food may not look anything like these beautiful pictures. The asian wings were so heavily dipped in some type of dry "seasoning" that it was not possible to continuing eating them; even though there were significantly overpriced and I felt bad for wasting so much money on them. Mind you, if the food quality was actually worth the ridiculous prices, this would be another matter. Also, you must fully understand that when you receive your food order, your food will fit in a small-to-medium size gift-like bag...with napkins like you would find in the public restroom. This was not only the case with our food but everyone's food. There was one cook, a big guy, whom I'm guessing was the owner/manager, visibly preparing all the food and all other staff were either standing around (watching customers struggle to use the screens to order) or just moving around waiting to be told what to do. I actually felt bad for the staff because this place; with its crazy prices and low-quality food don't seem to fit into the area. So disappointed that words cannot describe it! When I entered the building, a very nice Asian young lady greeted me. She was very welcoming and explained the order process. The very warm and welcoming initial service did not equal the taste or cost of the food. The chicken was very dry. The garlic, ginger, and soy sauce were horrible. The pot stickers were dry and were not freshly made. Overall, the entire meal was more disappointing than my combination of words can do justice. Finally, the cost of my meal was too expensive. The food was not worth the high price. I had to get someone's attention for assistance to order from the kiosk. The employees stayed in the kitchen area. No one monitored the counter.
