This place is really great. Lots of delicious (mainly dessert-themed) cocktails for a reasonable price. My girlfriend and I stopped by after a fantastic dinner at Il Ritrovo, and we did not regret it. She had the Irish Coffee with a shot of Bailey's and I had the Kinky Frenchman. Despite being stuffed with pizza and other authentic Italian fare, making room for our delicious after dinner drinks was not a problem. Having a buzzed Irishman talk our ears off for thirty minutes was an added bonus. read more

Visited on 2 separate occasions - a Sunday night which was a slower, more chilled-out atmosphere and a Saturday night filled with a bigger crowd including the requisite bachelorette party visit. It can accommodate both of these equally well. Upscale attitude in a downtown location and most importantly, NON-SMOKING. Decent beer and martini selection, which also makes it pricey for the area. Let's just hope the community supports it. read more

I have mixed reviews about this place. A+ on environment. The windows open up over the summer so you get to enjoy your beverage with the warm weather throughout the facility. C on service. It is very hit or miss and you truly never know how your experience is going to be when you go there. A on food and drinks. I really wanted to like this place (I mean really, I want to like every place) but it was just ok. Husband and I went for lunch. Started with beer cheese soup, which was good and flavorful, but with a few too many croutons on top. I had Italian Beef and husband had a bacon cheeseburger, and we shared. For both, the bun (which I believe was from a local bakery) was too small, and my husband thought stale. Italian beef had pretty good flavor, but was VERY salty (and I am a girl that likes salt). The burger was overdone and not juicy (ordered medium) and kind of blah. The homemade rosemary french fries had good flavor, but were too greasy in my opinion (and like salt, I like fries). Husband thought they were ok. Sever was friendly, but not super attentive. Husband didn't get refill on his soda even though he could have used one, for example (yes I know he can ask, but server could offer, esp when just after she stopped to clear our dishes she asked at the table next to us). If you only have three tables, not hard to be attentive. So overall, just ok. Prob won't go back. read more

Great location, great seating options being able to sit inside and outside, and the food was pretty excellent too. The night I was there the bar was hosting a benefit for a large group of people, which was very cool, but the service was SLOW. I tried to ask if they were understaffed but all the waitress kept saying was 'we have a big event here tonight'. Not okay by me to host an event and see your waitress 4 times the entire night. Food on the other hand was phenomenal. The thai nachos are unreal. Something about the mixture of mozzarella cheese, thai peanut sauce, and pulled pork...it just works. Mushroom burger was done perfect as well. Overall great venue, good food and beer selection but staffing could affect your night. read more

Went here for lunch and ordered a special- beer cheese soup and half a sandwich. The sandwich was small- very small, so it was a good thing the beer cheese soup was filling! Urbane is located right on the corner and I'm surprised they don't get more business. It was noticeably quiet when we were there, only 1 or 2 people at the bar and one other table was taken. They have a handful of board games for you to try out. We got the Yahtzee, but too many pieces were missing. read more

I've never found Urbane to be as appealing as other bars on the street. Their food selection is definitely a step above others, but with smaller venues specializing in certain cuisines, Urbane seems to not have one great "must-have" on the menu. Their is a calm, but loud atmosphere in Urbane. Typically, the age group you'll see are the entry level employees from Kohler and other businesses nearby. This isn't your place to watch sports. There are a number of better options down the street (8th St., Legend Larry's). If you're in town on a Tuesday night, invite your friends for Trivia nights. There's always a good crowd. read more

I was looking to meet up with family at a restaurant that wasn't your typical beer and burger restaurant. What a great place to have a drink and bite to eat! The restaurant was clean and menu was easy to understand. The variety of the menu was fantastic. Our dinner party all had something completely different, but equally delicious. Service was pretty good. Waitstaff was very well dressed and courteous. Staff should have been a bit more attentive with refills. That is the only reason I'm not giving this place a 5 star review. read more

Simply the best bar in Sheboygan! The drink menu is imaginative and varied, they have a great beer and respectable wine selection, and their kitchen serves some of the best food in town, and not your regular bar fare. Real food. Even the appetizers are a step above. The interior is dark and contemporary, although the original restored bar adds an old fashioned touch. Music is contemporary, and they generally have artwork displayed on the TV... The staff is very friendly, although they can get swamped on weekends. The crowd is usually 30+, as this is not the place to drink Miller Lite in plastic cups until you crawl home. In the summer the front of the bar opens up to the street and there is outdoor seating. A place like this would be welcome in any major metropolitan city in the US, and is very welcome here in Sheboygan. read more

Great food, creative menu, good service and a really nice ambiance with the large front windows and beautifully ornate ceiling. The wine selection was pretty good too, I had a couple of glasses of lovely reds, one from CA and another from New Zealand. I had the Ode to Soy salad with grilled salmon and it was fantastic. My first time in Wisconsin and I'm staying at the American Club in Kohler. I head into Sheboygan looking for some local flavor on a Thursday night. The places the concierge suggested look pretty dead. I drive by Urban, the liveliest looking place in Urbane. I take a seat at the bar and pull out my laptop to do some work. The bartender whips out a board that raises my laptop up above the raised rim of the bar and instantly makes working on my laptop more comfortable. In Sheboygan! The food is really quite good. I had the house salad with a citrus dressing that was just right followed by the special - smothered chicken breast that was topped with grilled veggies and cheese over a bed of spanish rice. The rice and chicken were masterfully spiced - loads of flavor without overshadowing the rice and chicken. I enjoyed a glass of pinot gris from Italy and a red from Chile. Both held up very well. The real surprise and the reason for my 5 star rating was the price. I was shocked to see how little my bill was given the quality of the food. When I commented on the small size of the check, the bartender replied, "This is Sheboygan." Take advantage of Urbane the next time you are near Sheboygan. read more

I have difficulty finding bars I like. They need to be inviting, not too full, not too empty, not too loud, and without younger people. I checked the Yelp reviews for Urbane before coming and took a chance one evening. You can see inside through the windows so you can kind of see if it has a lot of people in it or not, which is cool. The interior looked upscale and the guests looked like adults and older, which was a positive. They have a nice little fine-dining-style area with tables and chairs and brighter lighting towards the back; and a darker bar area with high tables and stools towards the front. We grabbed a spot at the end of the bar and ordered some drinks and food. The bar itself was extremely uncomfortable. The chairs are too close together for comfort, and can't be pushed close enough to the bar because of a step-up thing at the bottom of the bar. The chairs themselves are painful plain wood as well. The drinks were okay, but on the expensive side. Fuzzy Navels are usually in the $4-5 range at other places; here they were $7+. A Tequila Sunrise was ordered and the bartender just mixed everything together without care for presentation. It's not a Tequila *Sunrise* if it's mixed!!! The Boursin Bites (Herbed Boursin cheese & cream cheese wrapped in a wonton skin & deep fried. Served w/ our marinara), a kind of Crab Rangoon minus the crab, were very tasty. The house-made marinara was okay; kind of more like an herby pasta sauce than a marinara. "The Burger" was ordered plain with just meat and gouda cheese. The meat was very good; tasted like it was quality meat. I ordered the Banh Mi sandwich, which appears to be new as it's not on any of the menus online that I've found for this place. It's served on a hard roll rather than a traditional french baguette. It was truly the worst Banh Mi I have ever had in my life. The pulled pork was disgusting and there was twice more of it than should have been. It overpowered the vegetables, even when I removed a lot of the pork. The hard roll is not fitting to such a sandwich as it became soaked in the juices and quite soft rather quickly. I think they need to seriously rework that one. The fries were pretty good; seasoned more and tastier than the average fries. The Sweet Potato Ribbons w/ Balsamic Reduction side was pretty good as well. They're just thin crispy house-made chips with a thick, sweet balsamic sauce. The check for just those three dishes and two drinks came out to about $70. That's insane. So all in all: Ambience and interior: 10/10 Service: 8/10 Food and drinks: 4/10 read more

Meh; a little too snobby for me. I guess this is supposed be some kind of "upscale" type bar; whatever. I'm just an out-of-towner who stopped in because it looked inviting and cool from the outside. Stopped in on a Friday night. Place was filled with 2:1 ratio of ugly women (with promising futures/careers no doubt) aged under 30 and their dorky boyfriends/coworkers. Overall the place, and people, looked BOOOOOORING. On top of that everything on the menu was just overpriced; especially the drinks. Maybe that's part of the atmosphere? I don't know. Either way, we sat for less than 5 minutes and just left. Ended up checking out a few other local places that were up to speed. We won't be back. read more

We stopped into Urbane on a Friday night, and we were lucky enough to find a spot at the bar. The bartender was incredibly friendly, and made some excellent drinks! The atmosphere was comfortable, music wasn't too loud, and the crowd was more respectable and upscale than a lot of bars in town. I highly recommend it. read more

I recently moved here from Denver and seriously have a hard time when it comes to finding good food, and good drinks, and good service (especially a place with all 3). Urbane makes me so happy!! As a bartender who has a lot of experience using fresh ingredients, I commend Urbane on their beautiful (and labor intensive) cocktail menu. The food is fun and well executed and the service is always wonderful. Only had the opportunity to stop here for an hour but liked what I saw! Back bar is at least 100 years old and is a really cool piece of the atmosphere. Original tin ceiling and floor to ceiling windows in the front also add a lot. Non-smoking makes this place that much better. Nice selection of beer, martinis, and drinks with fresh squeezed juice. We stopped in here on a Friday night and luckily found some seats the bar. The drink menu is huge which we both loved! I had the strawberry basil mojito and a blueberry mojito. Both were made with fresh fruit & were awesome! Perfect amount of rum to mixer ratio. My financee also had two drinks and we had the homemade blueberry pie shots which were seriously awesome, they even had real blueberries mixed in! Our total was only $30 which was a great price! My family gets sick of me because every time I visit Sheboygan this is where I want to go! I have had multiple dishes and I loved all of them. My favorite is the Thai Salad and the Chicken gyro. All of the dishes I have had are a good portion, but not too big, and have lots of flavor. The rosemary fries are also a must get! I think they are the best fries I have ever had. Also my fiancee rates the burger in his top 5 best burgers, and he loves burgers! The drinks are originally what drew me there because they are made with fresh fruits and you can definitely taste it! I love the Strawberry basil mojito, which is my favorite drink there! It has a unique taste that I have never tried anywhere else. It also has a very mid to late 20's and romantic feel :) read more

Urbane was one of the very first restaraunts I dined at when I first moved to Sheboygan. My boyfriend's co-worker invited us to dinner and they picked Urbane. I was really impressed with the decor and the look of the entire building. Neat. I like that the entire front of the building (windows) open up almost like a garage door and you get that inside/outside feel. I ordered the URBANE CROSTINI salad. It was really good nothing to gripe about but it's a salad! lol I get the whole sophistication of the place. It's nice to have an outlet for sophistication in a small town like Sheboygan. My only two gripes are... the service was not anywhere close to other places I have dined. I wasn't impressed at all. We had to ask for refills, and for our check. I'm pretty sure our server was busy but one bad experience can ruin a return. It wont deter me I am pretty forgiving and I like to give places 1-3 chances before I decide never again, so I will be back. The other gripe is parking. Lordy, we had to park almost on 10th street and walk to 8th. Where is the parking lot?? read more

This place was great!!! I had the Blue Cheese & Bacon Burger (Med. Rare) on the pretzel roll. Burger was phenomenal, cooked perfectly and very tasty! Bartender was very friendly and informative. Urbane is easily the best example of what a bar/restaurant should be in Sheboygan. The atmosphere is classic and comfortable and the drinks are perfectly prepared. It's a perfect blend of high-end city excitement with local community treatment. My wife and I recently relocated to Sheboygan from Seattle, WA and Tucson prior to that. No other establishment in town can make us feel like we've stepped into a modern city like Urbane but with very reasonable prices. Come in dressed in your best clothes or in your favorite Packers jersey and you'll feel right at home. I'm so glad this place exists in Sheboygan. read more
