Due to COVID-19, I was unable to celebrate my shared birthday with my 77 year-old mother, and so was looking to do something extravagant in my absence. I came across UrbanStems, and their arrangements looked so beautiful! So I coughed up the $95 for an arrangement plus an additional $12 for the vase--REALLY? They did deliver on time, but when I asked my mother about it, as kind as she is, she said "maybe 8 roses, a couple of other flowers included, they were wrapped in bubble wrap, no water, and were basically dead when they arrived". FOR OVER $100? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What a rip-off, will never order from them again, and you should not fall for their pretty photography, what you get is not what you see. HORRIBLE. read more

Another store that I had contacted in the Georgetown DC area, offered a medium sized bouquet at $180 and said they had nothing smaller. Ordered on a Monday for delivery on Tuesday, to a recipient who lives in an apartment complex. I receive a notice that delivery may be delayed a day through FedEx. No flowers arrive on Tuesday. I reach out to customer service for clarification as to where the flowers are. Don't receive an email back until Wednesday. Customer service says that the flowers were delivered and signed for by the front office. Which front office? Don't know, the proof of delivery states no location confirmation. Only that "L. Office" signed for it. I ask UrbanStems if it's typical for anyone to sign for a delivery who isn't the recipient, and delivery to an unconfirmed address. UrbanStems says that due to the pandemic they are doing contactless delivery. Sure, very much understand. But contactless to a unnamed, unmarked recipient? You've got to be kidding me. So, I ask for a way to make the situation right, and I'm told the earliest next delivery date is on the 21st, 9 full days after I ordered the flowers. $100 for delivery of flowers almost 9 days after purchase. My brother and I bought flowers for our mother with money we earned this summer. We selected "The Juliet." The arrangement was dumped in the lobby of our building without the delivery person ringing the buzzer (we were home) or texting or calling. Luckily we found it. However, the flowers inside were wilting--roses curling and browning at the edges. Probably bc they just stuffed a totally dry bouquet (stems bone dry) in a dry vase and sent it out but likely also these flowers weren't fresh to begin with. It looks like a supermarket bouquet. The one you don't pick bc it is dying. It cost more than I make in a day. We got a refund but it is just sucked. Something nice turned into something upsetting. Stay away. read more

Updating my review to 5 stars. I ordered flowers for my sisters birthday and the first flowers that were sent looked nothing like what I saw online. But customer service was very prompt in their response and reached out to me to send another replacement bouquet to my sister within 3 days. The quality of the second flowers that she received was so much better and they look great. So although it didn't work out initially, I think the customer service is amazing and they will do their best to fix any issues! read more

I've ordered UrbanStems a couple of times for friends and was pleased with the service. So I chose them to do the flowers for my very small wedding in DC this past week. I had contacted them specifically about the order since I wanted to be sure they knew this was for a wedding and not just a regular delivery, and they were super helpful to work with. I had contacted them in October (wedding was Dec. 28), and they told me they'd be happy to shoot me an email when they knew what their December options would be, and they did. I ordered 2 vases with flowers along with a bridal bouquet and a boutonniere for my husband. We originally scheduled the delivery for the day of but a week before the wedding I thought it might be better to get them the day before, and ultimately I'm glad I did since there was a little snafu with the order. The day before the wedding, 2 out of 3 of the bouquets and the boutonniere arrived. I wasn't having a hissy fit or anything - stuff happens, it would all work out, but I was hoping to get what I paid for, so we contacted them to see if we could get the other bouquet. Later, another delivery guy came but with just another vase. Still not what we needed- so contacted again. Not sure what the deal was, but they wouldn't be able to deliver the other bouquet until the next morning. No worries- I'd be there to receive, fortunately. They were very apologetic and communicative, and ultimately I received the flowers the next morning around 9am (wedding at 2pm) along with an extra bouquet for my trouble. The person who I originally set it all up with also emailed me a lovely personal note, apologizing, and giving me $50 credit for UrbanStems (it has yet to show up on my account, but c'est la vie). It all worked out, the flowers were GORGEOUS, and the "bonus" bouquet they sent turned out to be a better color scheme for my bridal bouquet so I used it instead! One other thing, however, was that the boutonniere didn't come with a pin. We were able to finagle something in time, but that would have been handy to have included with it. Overall, it was a little annoying that the order wasn't right the first time, but they were extremely professional in dealing with the mistake, and I could tell they really cared about getting it right in time. Had we not gotten the other bouquet in time, it would have been fine - my marriage is about my husband, not the flowers, but I was glad to have it all work out in the end! At no time was I advised that my order would not be delivered on the day I requested until the day it was to be delivered I check the tracking number sent to me and found out that it was being delayed until the next day (but that remains up in the air at this point). I contacted the "Happiness Team" because I am beyond furious. I should have ordered from a local florist but thought I would try this company as I have seen thousands of unsolicited advertisements. BUYER BEWARE! For Christmas my daughter gave me monthly deliveries of flowers from Urban Stems. The first delivery arrived in only fair condition, some of the flowers were withered. I am a gardener so I was able to supplement and make the arrangement look good. The second delivery was bad, roses with brown edges, mums that were drooping and everything looking like the flowers a florist would discard. I took pictures as soon as they arrived and sent an email to the company. I never received a response by email. I also called, concerned that my daughter was being charged for this poor arrangement. They just sent me a new replacement batch, worst arrangement yet. Seriously, I pulled off the netting from the mums and all the leaves fell off, some of the roses were off their stems and the ones that were on the stems had brown withered leaves. Some stems were broken. This is how they make good on a bad delivery? Insult to injury. This is horrible. I have no idea how they stay in business. On the day of arrival, UrbanStems notified me that they were sending a different bouquet, which would not have worked for the event. A little more notice would have been much appreciated. The flowers that were sent were not fresh and a few were already wilted upon arrival. When I called, they were not able to send me flowers in the color palette I requested. The customer service representative was polite and professional during the interaction. But I was willing to give it a try for a special flower delivery for my mother on Valentine's day. The reality is that the flowers were delivered outside and left on porch in snowy, bitter cold winter. She was not notified of the delivery and flowers were not left with neighbor. By the time she found them they were dead/frozen/ruined. I paid over $100 for delivery for dead flowers. Customer service will not issue a refund. Buyer beware - I do not recommend if they will not guarantee flowers delivered alive and as pictured in the lovely photos. Unacceptable to leave flowers outside in zero degree weather in the middle of winter! Update: Finally got a response from Twitter, and they have refunded our order (or will in 10 business days). No explanation of what happened, no apology. Just a "form response" saying they would refund. Definitely will not use again. My husband ordered me flowers, a vase, chocolates, and the self-care gift box for Valentines. What showed up? Only the gift box. Turns out, he got an e-mail Thursday saying the order was confirmed, and ready to be delivered. Then yesterday morning, he got an e-mail saying due to quality concerns, there'd have to be a change: different date or an "upgrade" to a smaller bouquet. He called in, and after going round and round with the "happiness team", settled on some flowers are better than no flowers. He got an e-mail saying it was ALL delivered. Boy was he surprised to find that all I got was the gift box...no flowers, no vase, no chocolates. He wrote a Yelp review, and they asked him to e-mail. He did. No response, no refund, nothing. Ordered the Double Celia, described as peony tulips WITHOUT the disclaimer that they might be a different than shown. Shipped the week before Valentine's to avoid catastrophes (I thought ) Peony tulips are about 20-30% more expensive at any florist. They sent the same 20 bloom count of regular plain old tulips, extremely short bruised and discolored stems, discolored and rotting leaves, just thrown in the box and looked like they were about an hour away from the warehouse dumpster. This is a $100 dollar arrangement. My inner Karen dialed the care line and asked for a remedy. They scheduled a double arrangement of some other random blooms, not tulips, scheduled for the week AFTER Valentine's, which gets them 2 more theoretical stars than the 1 I would have otherwise left. But here's the thing: my bestie loves tulips. So skip these schmucks, at the rate they're racking up 1 star reviews they should disappear from the interwebs soon enough read more

I didn't see the email till pretty late at night and thought they might not be able to meet the 9 - 11 am delivery time the next day. I have been using this service for a while for both personal and professional gifts. It used to be so great!! I recommended them to everyone and it was truly the only service I was using for a long time. The flowers or plants would get delivered on the exact date you wanted... they used to do same day delivery as well! The arrangements were absolutely gorgeous! I understand they are more popular and demand calls for certain adjustments, but whatever they are doing is not working. Fast forward to about six months ago... it has gone completely down hill. Deliveries not arriving on time, deliveries being completely wrong, flowers arriving dead or damaged... you name it. The website used to be so easy to use and now it's a disaster. They have a live chat feature that is so useless. I have had to call them about the last few deliveries bc of various issues and it's just so frustrating! To top all of this off, they've raised their prices and you're getting much lower quality arrangements which probably won't arrive when you need them. I'm really bummed out because I loved this service! I will never use them again because the issues are becoming more and more consistent. At $95 with the vase it was pricey but it looked like a really original arrangement. They emailed me the week before to tell me they "weren't happy with the quality of those flowers" and were sending a different bouquet. The replacement picture was red flowers so I said no, just please refund me, I wanted blue. They replied "we've upgraded you" and that they would send a bouquet with lots of yellow. Writing this review from Oklahoma City, OK. Flowers were small and arrived dehydrated and rubber banded together. Clipped off the ends and put them in water, but there was no saving them. They sent me another arrangement to make up for the first sad one, still no Aquatic Stem Tubes or refrigeration, even after I suggested they do so. After a pretty deary January I decided flowers would be the perfect weekday pick-me-up and scheduled my delivery without any issues. My flowers arrived on time and looked just like the photo, but unfortunately got a little droopy and brown-tinged over the next few days (possibly the cold weather?). I used UrbanStems to order flowers to send to a friend for her birthday. The website was easy to navigate and the pricing was extremely transparent. I've thought about ordering flowers online before from other flower websites, but once I decide on what flowers I want to buy, I usually end up never ordering them because there are so many additional fees tacked on from a regular delivery charge that is always too high and then additional fees for next-day delivery and every possible scenario of ordering flowers seems to incur an additional charge. UrbanStems made it so easy to see what I would actually be paying because delivery was included in the price and there were three different bouquets at various price points to choose from clearly pictured on the website. I was able to select a date and delivery time and even include notes regarding delivery. It was extremely helpful to be able to pick a specific time for delivery (and again without an additional charge) because I picked one later in the evening so the flowers wouldn't be there too long before my friend got home from work. I loved that I knew exactly when the flowers were delivered because UrbanStems sent me an e-mail that included a picture of the actual bouquet that was delivered with my friend's apartment building in the background of the picture. It was a great idea to ensure the bouquet is delivered to the right spot, to get a delivery confirmation e-mail, and to see what the flowers sent actually looked like all in one message. DELIVERED WITHIN 45 MINUTES I was talking to one of my friends who was telling me about Urbanstems. He mentioned that they will deliver flowers to anywhere in DC within an hour and it only cost $35. I like to randomly send people gifts for work sometimes so I was really interested in seeing if and how it worked. So I ordered my friend a bow tie and sent it to him so I could see the experience. It got delivered 45 mins later, with a picture of the bow tie, and they even randomly threw in bouquet of flowers. kinda weird bc i didn't want to send him flowers lol but it's cool. awesome service. can't wait to have a reason to send someone flowers!
