UPDATE - 2/11/2019 I eventually went to an urology office I had previously been to to confirm my vasectomy procedure was successful. I was informed that Urology Austin had purchased / combined with this office. So I still wasn't able to escape this terrible provider. They sent me to a lab (CPL) rather than having my original doctor examine the specimen himself. CPL failed to complete the test the first time, but did not say why specifically. I finally did a 3rd test attempt and confirmed I was sterile. I realize this is more of a reflection of CPL than Urology Austin, but had Urology Austin not failed on the initial test attempt, I wouldn't have had to go through this. This was several months ago now. What prompted this update was I just received a bill in the mail from CPL. Urology Austin made no mention to me that I would have to cover the cost of this testing. I assumed since they had performed the procedure, it would be covered. I fully intend on contacting Urology Austin again and having them cover the cost of this testing. Again, I would recommend you go basically anywhere other than Urology Austin. read more

Dr Cuellar is really a class act and model doctor, both in his examining room manner and his expertise. He brings real humanity into what could easily be a stressful, alienating environment. He has a great way of communicating risk without alarming. His assistant, who took my blood, is absolutely amazing. Smoothest blood draw I have ever had. I sat and watched her stick a blood-draw needle into my arm and I STILL couldn't feel it, even though I was looking right at it. Kudos for knowing how to do a painless blood draw. :) read more

Never, ever on time. They ask that you arrive 15 minutes early, but they are always running late. The staff act like they just can't get their stuff together. They have this smug appearance and just give you that impression that they know they are terrible but they don't really care. They take the patients back in no discernible order, I have a 930 appointment but someone that comes in after gets called back first. Bottom line here, Dr Cuellar is an excellent dr. He will help you, I have been a patient for several years and he has never disappointed me with his care. read more

I've reached my limit with this practice, too bad so many good doctors are associated. They never get anything straight, have to call several times. They don't return phone calls and say they did (I never have an incoming call nor a message from them). Today frosted the cake. Went for an appointment last Monday, checked in a couple times on line, arrived ahead of time, had my temp taken, checked in at receptionist who printed a label for specimen, put it in the box and today with my followup appointment said I was a "no show". Where did my specimen go and it was too difficult to check that I had checked in??? This practice needs some serious organization. read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr Bruce! I have been having bladder pain for years. I had seen another urologist who dismissed all of my complaints and told me there was no such thing as bladder pain. After a visit to the Gynecologist to see if the issues were related to something else, I was directed to get in with a different urologist. He has a great bedside manner and really took the time to ensure we figured out what was going on. He is very thorough, kind and a great doctor. I recommend him highly! read more

Successful surgery by Dr. Naresh Desireddi but that is where it ends. Less than zero follow up. The one follow up visit started with a nurse walking me back to get my Testosterone shot, not only have I never had a Testosterone shot there, when I informed her I was there for a post op follow up, she had no idea I even had double surgery let alone that that is why I was there. Also on visits after that, I had to volunteer that the surgery seemed to be a success as Dr. Desireddi never bothered to even ask. But that is not the half of it, I let all that slide. About 3 months after my surgery, while there for blood work, a kind receptionist came from behind the window to pull me aside to let me know I had a substantial credit on my account. It was a whispered conversation as he / she evidently was breaking protocol and putting herself at a bit of risk telling me this. Had they not, I likely never would have known, which seems to be their hope and is their policy. Month or so afterwards after not hearing from anyone I asked the front desk who played it off to billing, that the office could not help and even if they could their policy is no refunds while you have an appointment on the books. So they will keep my $1,400 plus dollars a bit longer because they are worried I won't pay my $20 co pay on my next appointment. A few more weeks pass I finally reach someone at the billing department who is willing to perhaps mail me a check in two weeks time for some reason. She is not willing to email me anything to that effect however, against policy again. I ask to speak to a higher up only to be put on hold for a good 10 minutes or so to have the same person come back on phone to say she will try to get permission to email me their intentions. Never received an email. Also each person I spoke to was incredulous, as though they were caught at something and pointing fingers back at me, it was shocking. Two more weeks and I call only to have them tell me they mailed the check on the 8th of December but to my Livingston address. An address I have not had for years and one that I updated with them. Both billing and the front desk insisted, rudely, that I did not update the address, but I was dead certain I did. So, I give them my new address, one I have just now moved to. We were to wait for the return of the check from Livingston. Meanwhile, this is fun isn't it, I go by my old address to finish packing and what is in my mailbox but a check from them made out to the address they argued I never updated. That would've been the end of it however the check was missing everything but the $1,4...then torn off. So of course I call again to explain and try to get another check mailed. Not only did they argue with me about the address, the address I am looking at this very moment on the torn check from them to the address they "never had from me". The billing employee still incredulous and condescending, was zero help. Wish I remembered her name, argued with me over the condition and cashability of the check. Unbelievable. I hung up upset and received a call from what seemed to be the head of the department Christie who was home ill with the cold going around and offered to do whatever it takes to make it right, but that I had to take the check to the bank and try and cash it. A waste of time I assured her but the next day I took another hour out of my day to do just that. Of course the bank was unable to cash the check, when I called the supervisor's cell phone to have the cashier tell her just that, nothing. Since then I have left voicemails galore with no help. It's been nearly a year they have kept my money which they still have. Now the kicker, I'm called by a collection agency trying to collect that amount, from the hospital I guess. So, a hit on my credit I will have to deal with and have removed, and still Dr. Desireddi and in my opinion, his den of thieves, have my money. Good times. Do not recommend. At all. Ever. If you have ever had work done there, call the billing department and see if they are kindly holding your money and hiding it. Happy Trails. read more

Dr Bruce did not listen to me. Diagnosed me with something that 3 other doctors said that I didn't have. I felt like he didn't read my chart from my referring doctor. The wait time was ridiculous. No apologies from him. I waited over an hour to be seen and he spent 5 minutes with me. I would rather be in pain for the rest of my life then ever go back to him again. read more

My mom sees Dr. Bruce and I see Dr. Cuellar. Truly I don't think either of our quality of lives would be better without the help of them. Ashley (PA for Dr. B) Is probably the best hands on smart affective person to work with us and problem solved along with Dr. Bruce for my mom. I have read some of the reviews about the staff and I totally understand but I would ask you to please talk to them and let them know what they need to improve on. Their office is always training and and learning new things. I myself have had to ask questions about something. As for doctors running late I'm willing to wait if they have emergencies. Or like my mom who has to be seen immediately and they fit people in. It happens. The girls up front are good at telling me time so I'm happier. read more

This office is awful, specifically Dr Cuellar's side. I can say that the staff and Dr Cuellar are both extremely kind and courteous, but every appointment takes forever! On my best visit, I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to actually see the doctor. That was my best day. Most of the time, it's 45 to even 75 minutes past my appointment time when I actually saw Dr Cuellar. I don't know what the exact culprit is for this, but it is absolutely ridiculous. My experience on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Urology Associates was, to say the least, very frustrating. I missed my scheduled appointment in the Spring due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Urology Associates contacted me during the Summer to reschedule the appointment for 9:30 AM, 11/30/2020 with Dr. Bruce. Prior to arriving, I spent approximately 30+ minutes on the computer Sunday filling in the online "check in" information. I arrived promptly at 9:30 AM this morning and was quickly checked in, given the cup for an urine sample and advised to then wait in the lobby. I waited, and waited, and waited while patients came in after me and were promptly checked in and fairly quickly called in for their appointments. At 10:15, I went up to the front desk and informed the intake clerk that I was going to leave as I had now been waiting 45 minutes. She told me my appointment was actually 9:45 AM and asked me to wait while she went to check the status of my appointment. When she returned after another annoying wait, she informed me that I was next. When I asked what was the problem, she informed me that it was the day after a holiday and they were very busy. I sat down and waited another ten minutes. At 10:25 AM, A staff member came to the door and asked for "Brenda." She just indicated to follow her, made no attempt to apologize for the delay or give an explanation. When we arrived at the exam room, she started questioning me to the extent that I realized she had never looked at my record and it appeared that she could really care less. By this time, I had had it! I told her that I was leaving as it was obvious that Dr. Bruce did not give a darn!! I left. read more

I wasn't happy with the wait times or lack of customer service for my son's circumcision. But it wasn't enough for me to spend the time posting a review. However, the fact that I called their front desk on having a patient's paperwork in plain sight while talking to me should have been an omen for what came next. My 5 month old son was caught up in the January 2017 data breach that one news report said affected as many as 279,000 patients going back at least 20 years. I regret not walking away when I saw how they didn't seem to care about the fact that I could see one patient's paperwork while they were talking to me. I did not. That part is on me, and I won't make the same mistake twice. This practice is an example of the kind of medical business that people should seriously consider avoiding. Even after admitting the data breach, they will not do anything to help protect my son. I am having to do all of that work myself at my own expense. read more

I have always been happy at Urology Austin (UA) until today! I have moved to a new house and now the drive to my current UA doctor, Dr. Cuellar, is over an hour away! I am not doing that drive anymore, so I asked for a referral to a UA doctor in South Austin to be my doctor going forward. Here is where things went insane---I was told by their administrative staff that I am *prohibited* from switching doctors! Now that I have seen Dr. Cuellar, they will not allow me, under any circumstance, to see a different urologist!!! I was informed that the "preference of the DOCTOR is to keep their patients." Apparently, doctor preference is more important than patient RIGHTS to choose their medical provider. I refuse to let any establishment tell me I can only spend money with them and nobody else. I have no choice but to prove them wrong by calling a new Urologist outside the UA network and wish them good luck in stopping me from doing so. Goodbye for life, Urology Austin. Goodbye! (Which really sucks by the way because I did like them, and Dr. Cuellar rocked. I just won't drive that far to see him anymore and won't be bullied to do so.) read more

Dr. Bischoff and his staff, particularly Diane Bonsall APRN, are passionate about their mission to care for me. After being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer I interviewed several highly regarded doctors, each specialists in their approach to treating the disease. This included HIFU, radiation, proton therapy, chemo, and surgery. Each doctor took their time to inform and enlighten me on the pros and cons of each treatment. I ultimately elected to have Dr. Bischoff do a radical prostatectomy because two MD's recommended him in lieu of their approach based on my particular diagnosis; I wanted the cancer out; and, I had complete confidence in Dr. Bischoff and Diane Bonsall's competence. I was completely informed and prepared for surgery and the post-op follow-up was quick, consistent, and thorough. A year later, Diane Bonsall remains caring, listens, and is responsive to my labs and feedback during my regular follow-ups. This is a skilled team that really has been consistently compassionate and professional during what is otherwise a life-changing and challenging process. If there is one key insight I can share with others faced with this overwhelming decision, it would be to please realize that the relationship with your doctor and staff is enduring and lasts well past just the procedure. This is a journey, not a jaunt. I truly value my relationship and am comfortable and confident in my access to, and my open communications with, my medical team. read more

Upon setting up an appointment with my urologist who performed my vasectomy ~5 years ago for another issue, I find out this facility is charging "new" patient fees since it's been over three years. This is a complete money grab!!! It's only a $100 difference from a regular visit, but obviously just another chance to take advantage of the patient. It's not like I'm getting a physical exam and I'm sure my doctor isn't being paid any more... and he's providing the care! I have no complaints regarding my urologist as he did great helping me out in the past, but unfortunately, investors... NOT DOCTORS... are buying up these type of practices and using our messed up healthcare system to take advantage of patients and insurance companies... just like those "pop-up" emergency rooms who charge just as much as an actual hospital, but cannot admit if something is really wrong and can turn people away without insurance or a credit card. At least people are taking notice as many of these places are shutting down. Hopefully, people read these reviews and will make their own judgement about this facility. I like my urologist so will pay the extra $$$ to see him since I can afford it... but if you're "truly" a new patient or pay attention to how your medical funds are being spent, look into other options. I have a rule that if I hear too many advertisements for "medical" facilities, I will usually avoid them as the patient is the one paying for those commercials... The issue is NOT the doctors... it's the facility and it's crooked operations. Look no further than the other bad reviews... read more

After many years of suffering at the hand of doctors in another state, Dr. Bruce took on our daughter's case. She's still in treatment, however I had to give a shout out. Dr. Bruce read her scans done through the ER at Seton Williamson. His compassionate heart and extensive knowledge was just what my daughter needed. After a procedure today, one tomorrow and another in a little more than a week, she is much better than she was for sure. I have never met a more truly compassionate Dr. Dr. Bruce, you have a heart as big as Texas and I for one am very grateful! So if you are looking for a fabulous Urologist, please go see Dr. Bruce. Went to see Dr Cuellar briefly in 2012-13. He is a good doctor, puts you at ease, but some of his front desk assistants needed talking to then, and it doesn't seem to have improved now. 5 yrs ago, I had my name on a list for Xiaflex a year before it was even approved, and they promised me they'd call when it got ADA approval. I called back once a month from Jan to December when I was told "Oops. You slipped through the system. We started this program a month ago," which is why they never (and weren't going to) let me know that treatment was finally available. That was frustrating enough. Then, interacting with them in the office, trying to get information or appointments ... it was like slogging through mud while carrying weights. For my last visit, they gave me wrong information on the date of my appointment, so I showed up a day late, which Dr Cuellar seemed angry about, even after I explained the misinformation I was given. Fast forward to today. My GP doctor sent in a referral last week. She was very clear that the urologist's office would call me to give me an appointment. An hour ago, I get a message call from "Tatiana" saying I missed my appointment at 9am today. An appointment I had no idea I even had. WTF??? Who made this appointment? She couldn't tell me. I needed to make an appointment for a different issue, though, so I thought I'd give Urology Austin one more chance. But after leaving 2 messages, getting transferred when I finally got a call back, and put on hold for almost 15 minutes, I remembered why I swore I wasn't going back there. I'm glad other people have good experiences here, but mine was definitely not 2 stars are because Dr Cuellar is a good doctor, that's all. read more

These doctors are clearly more interested in their paychecks than the patient. Every time you try to call in and talk to a doctor or even a PA, you get put on an eternal hold then told they will put in a note to have someone call you back. this only happens about 5 min before they close. how convenient for them. You have to set a 60-80 dollar apt, just to get told that they have to do a CAT scan at $130 to start guessing at it. So then I get told I have 4 kidney stones and they should be coming out over the course of the next 40-60 days. Then they give me painless forabout half of that. When I called in after running out they said they had to do another katscan and office visit to do it. So they wanted another 200 out of me. Not terribly concerned about the money factor, but the fact that they really don't give a crap about their patient or his comfort is really irritating read more

Let me start by saying, having to see a Urologist was NOT on my list of things to do, but when you end up in the ER for a kidney stone you don't really have a choice. I was referred to Dr. Desireddi from the ER in Cedar Park. The office was easy to find and there is ample parking. Considering how busy the office and waiting room was, the place was very well run and the flow of patients was very smooth. The waiting area is spacious and clean with plenty of seating. The receptionist was wonderful and very helpful. The nurse who took me in was also great. I didn't have to wait long at all for the Dr. He was very informative and understanding and explained all of my options. He answered all of my questions and help calm some of my fears. I then had to deal with all of the unfortunate insurance issues, like getting more testing and prior authorizations, but Jessica has been amazing, getting it all taken care or and staying in contact with me throughout the entire ( frustrating ) process. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Desireddi if you find you are in need of a Urologist. read more

I came in for a vasectomy on 3/15 and was seen by Dr. Freidberg and his assistant. I am one to avoid doctors and get nervous anytime I need to see one. After 3 kids it was time to get this done. I was simply amazed at the professionalism and kind attitudes they both have. It was painless, quick and everything went just as scheduled. He also took care of something else I needed at the same time.Thank both of you very much. I most likely won't see you anytime soon but I will definately refer anyone I know to you. I have to agree with the other posters. In 2014 I had a decent interaction at an office open only one day a week. I went back for a 5 year followup recently, and specifically asked for one test, which I was told that could be done. I have dealt with some dr's offices who try to get you to agree to tests that are unneeded and drive up costs and my ins told me to get quotes and prices before and not to agree to any tests unless they were warranted. The day b4 my followup I spent a combined 2.5 hours trying to call, and was hung up on two times by their phone system. I texted to them what I wanted, as they had texted to me. The next day I arrived and was told they wanted me to give urine, blood, and I said I only wanted a follow up prostate exam- drop drawers and finger. If I needed more, so be it, but AFTER the initial exam. I was told this was not possible and that they could catheter mt bladder or do an ultrasound. I explained I had a deductible and my ins told me to not agree to tests that were unneeded and without costs. The urine and blood tests were unneeded, and I had been told on the phone I could just get a prostate exam, but in person the front office tried to hook me into unneeded procedures. they would not even tell me the costs. They refused me service when I told them I would not agree to tests until AFTER the prostate exam. So, I now have to go elsewhere, and reported them to my insurance, telling them I was refused service. I may have to look to report them to the state board if they try to falsely bill me. I had to do so 20 years ago when an unscrupulous doctor tried to bill me for a visit on a day I was working. This was a different office than my 2014 visit but it's a horror show- crowded, small waiting room, the front office people are rude and dismissive, and I never got the simple follow up I was told I could get. I am greatly disappointed and shocked at how badly run the business side is. Coming here, at least, tells me I am not alone in being treated poorly. In fact, as I waited, there was another patient who walked out of the waiting room after arguing with the staff over some treatment he refused. Drs are not gods, and their staffs certainly are not. They shd know that people have to pay for services, and if they only want test A, telling then they need unneeded tests is just wrong. People who are ill or need help shd not be treated this way. Serve the patient and put your egos aside! Exceedingly sad and disappointed with the service not provided and how far this business has fallen from my experience 5 years ago. read more

Wow! What screwed up establishment. Started when I admitted myself in the hospital. Had large kidney stone. Was not able to pass the stone. Had an infection of the kidney starting. Urology Austin doctors saw me in the hospital. They told me they needed to put a stent in. Ok had them put stent . 2 days went by , then I was released from the hospitals care. Sent me home with prescriptions for medication needed . And info to set up appointment to have kidney stone removed as well as the stent. First went to drug store for meds. Then set up appointment three weeks later, this is the soonest they could get me in .they said . Only one week of pain meds and antibiotics. So , almost one week later . Called for more pain meds. Was told by then clinic Austin Urology the doctor that saw me at the hospital and put the stent in. Was not able to give me another pain meds prescription. Without and appointment, while I'm running out of meds. Also told me to call the hospital ER doctors for more pain meds. Which once you are released , they will not prescribe. So here I am running out of meds and running into brick walls . When trying to get more prescription meds to last for the next couple of weeks. So ended up making an appointment for the next day with Austin urology at 9:00 am . Only to get a call in the morning from them saying , that they had to cancel. By this time I had only one day worth of meds left. And two weeks left before my procedure. Even though the doctors the put the stent in. Can't prescribe me meds with out making an appointment first. By this time , I furious! You can understand if you have ever had kidney stones and a stent. Very very very painful!!! All in all This establishment made me stressed in a time when I shouldn't have stress. So I told them to cancel al my appointments and to stick it where the sun don't shine.... and found a new establishment who cares about there patients to help me. I was seen as a new patient at Urology Austin at the Round Rock location. Before my visit , after scheduling, I was told I would get an email with my appt location and new pt forms. I did not get that so, I called to get that. The women I spoke with was extremely rude and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. Luckily, on my appt day the front desk receptionist who checked me in, was very nice and professional. I only waited about 20 minutes to be put in a room. I saw Amanda, PA . She was incredibly smart and sensitive. She spent time listening to all of my concerns and addressed them all. I would highly recommend her. read more

To all the people that wrote bad reviews I hate that you had a bad experience but to say anything bad about the doctors is hard to read. I've never met so many amazing physicians in my whole life, they care about every single patient that walks into the door. Is the wait time long yeah maybe but I guarantee that when it's you in that room that the Dr is giving his undivided attention to the wait is the last thing on your mind. When a Dr will make an appointment time for a patient in between surgeries to make sure they have the care they need that says something.. not about the money at all.. I've witnessed care from the physician's at this practice that I would have never expected nor have I ever experienced. People generally write reviews when they are upset and it makes sense but there are so many life changing things that happen at Urology Austin and I wouldn't place anyone I love in anyone else's hands... I could praise the doc's all day but this has got to end somewhere so that being said they are amazing and don't let anyone tell you different!! read more

Dr. Desireddi didn't tell me the cyst on my scrotum was infected and could be treated with antibiotics. Instead he scheduled me for major surgery (because he could make $2,000+) instead of just a $250 office visit (Medicare will pay for it, he said). I went to an honest family doctor who gave me antibiotic cream and pills and I got relief from the infection in hours, minutes instead of years of pain and despair. What a criminal!!!!!!! read more

I changed my rating from one to three stars because the office manager contacted me and told me they were addressing these issues and they acknowledged my issues. I will give them another try. The round rock location of urology Austin is disorganized. They lost my urine sample and then when I brought in another sample the receptionist told me she could not make sure they knew my sample was there because she worked in the front and not the back. They don't care about their patients and the systems they have in place almost ensure they will lose your specimen. Worst dr. Office ever. I would advise going anywhere but here if you have a choice. read more

Don't let the doctor have you see his PA, Ashley. She likes to play games with the patients. She makes an appointment, waits until 2-3 days before, then cancels. Reschedule. Waits until 2-3 days before the day, then cancels. Reschedule. On and on and on. I'm not playing her game anymore. read more

I have been a patient for around 6 years and Dr. Bischoff and Diane are great but their office staff is terrible. When I started going there I went to their Cedar Park location and had zero problems but since they closed it and only see patients in Round Rock l had to move. I now dread every time I have an appointment because there will be issues with the office staff. I'm a first responder who works at night and this town they decided my blood raw appointment couldn't be at 330 even though they had made the appointment 5 months ago. They then decided it could work but even after I told them I work at night they woke me up 4 times and the website to check in crashed. If you're a first responder or have to work a night schedule avoid them at all cost or be prepared for them to wake you up unnecessarily each appointment. Now in the middle of all of the Covid-19 I have to still work and find a new provider. read more

We had used Dr. Freidberg for a small problem about 8 years ago, so when a big problem popped up, we called Urology Austin. What had seemed minor turned major. We ended up in ER and then routed to Dr. Desireddi because of availability. He inserted a stent and later performed the procedure to laser a very large kidney stone. Things seemed to be going well, but two days later, the nausea and fever returned on a Sunday night. The on-call surgeon sent us to ER who gave my husband antibiotics, anti-nausea, saline. CT scan showed a small fragment lodged in the ureter. We went home. But the next day all of those symptoms returned, and we were in constant contact with Urology Austin. Dr. Desireddi was now out for the week and we were routed to Dr. Bischoff, who eventually did an extra procedure to fix the problem even though it was late that day. I can't say enough about the people involved. I was amazed that I could press 3 and actually talk to someone who could give me an answer, usually quickly, or get messages through or questions and respond so quickly. All of the doctors we worked with were outstanding! All of the nurses, physician assistants, and message routers were so helpful and kind. I hope we never have to see one of the doctors, again, LOL, but if so, I know we are in good hands!! read more

Naresh "Vic" Desireddi, MD is not a good urologist! He took xrays and immediately wanted to do major back surgery on a kidney stone instead of trying the least invasive way first. He kept saying it wouldn't work (lithotripsy). He was very pushy trying to scare me I would lose my kidney and I was not comfortable with that. He reminded me of a car salesman. I decided to get a second opinion. I went to another well known urologist in the area and that Dr said he could knock it out with lithotripsy easily no need for back surgery. I had the procedure and sure enough my kidney stone is GONE! I am so glad I went with my gut feeling on getting a second opinion. Our family doctor recommended Urology Austin Clinic for a specialized treatment. During our consultation visit Dr. Bruce seemed to be knowledgeable about the procedure we needed and we trusted his judgement. We made an appointment in advance but we were not informed that we needed to take pain killers on our own before the appointment, and were never told to bring or give a urine sample until the last minute. So we waited too long and had to use the rest room just before seeing the nurse. They came out with a sample cup but we couldn't give the sample in time, so they told us we had to reschedule and drive 30 miles again at our inconvenience, so we just told them not to reschedule. read more

I went to Sean Maloney and he completely screwed up a Urolift procedure and also terrible post operative work -- major problems with catheter, etc. - He doesn't know what he is doing and caused me lots of pain and ultimately I went to another URologist and due to what I believe is his fault I needed to get a TURP -- I will never go back to Sean Maloney -- beware read more

Had CT scan last Friday! Today is Thur! No call back!!! Dr off Friday! Just got a call from office manager (not doctor) after several requests for some type of feedback!
