This is one of my favorite locations of Urth and I continue to come back here time and time again. The food is absolutely delicious everything is so fresh and you can really taste the quality of the food. You can't go wrong with anything you order. My go to is usually the portabella panini or the Catona pizza. I love the side salad that comes with the panini especially the candied walnuts yummmm Their desert is just as spectacular. Everything is so light and fluffy my favorite is the green tea tiramisu but I also really love their banana cream pie. Their drinks are amazing and you have to try one. I like their green iced tea and their green tea boba. I would recommend this place to anyone in Pasadena looking for a healthy place to eat. The service is great too! read more

This review is only about their service. After I finished ordering my drink, I told the cashier that I saw a fly on their muffins, she sounded very annoyed that I even mentioned to her. All she said was, "ok, we going to take care it", then continuing calling for next customer. About 40 minutes later, when I went back to order something again, I saw the fly was still there and again, I told the second cashier that there was a fly and this time, the cashier was nicer. She said thank you to me for letting her know but again, no action was taking right away, instead she continue calling out for next customer . WTH? I went there on a Sunday for breakfast, me and my boyfriend ordered two coffees and two prosciutto panini's and two desserts. We got the coffees within 5-10 minutes with the desserts, but panini's weren't coming in, after him going to the register and asking for it, then asking two random waiters still no prosciutto panini's. After about 50 minutes of waiting and asking for it i went looking for them myself and within a minute they finally brought our small panini's. They were cold, soggy and tasteless. It literally felt like they rushed making them so we stop asking for it. Anyway, I won't recommend this place for their food just coffee and desserts, but i know I won't be back there again even for those. Once i park, i go in to scout a table that would be comfortable for my Wife, when i am met with even more resistance. This time, in the form of policy, in the sense that a customer is only allowed a table once they've ordered their meal. When i explained, my Wife was handicapped, and would like to sit and i assured him, we would be ordering ASAP, he thought it would be best to repeat himself as a form of jest in almost a child like tone to me as if i hadn't understood what he was saying to me. Sad day. I am so disappointed in you Urth Caffe Pasadena. I plan to never come to this location again by choice. Came here with my family and ordered an eggs benedict plate with smoke salmon eggs and when it finally came out 45 minutes later, they gave us scrambled eggs. We had told our waiter after taking another 20 minutes to come back to our table, he explained to us their poach machine wasnt working. WELL, COULDNT YOU HAVE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I WAS PAYING?! $13 for a side of scrambled eggs for a salmon eggs benedict is a bit of a waste if I can make scrambled eggs at home. The whole experience was a mess for my pops who doesnt ever eat American food, but decided to join us. He was just happy we were there with him, but we spent $60 on not only crappy food, but terrible service. All our other dishes were dry and not tasty at all. Honestly, i do not know what the hype is about. I think this place truly survives off of just hype. Ive visited here many times, and most of the food is just bland, and i have never had a good meal here. For people that come for the drinks, there are many other boba/smoothie places that completely blow this places drinks out the water. The desserts are kept in a half century old cooler, and again i can find MUCH better elsewhere. I am not even a picky person, its just that i know they can do better, the food is simply mediocre. Went there on a first date on Monday night and I had a caffe latte and a blueberry cheesecake. The place was clean and the staff was courteous and professional! We sat outside in the patio area, the tables and chairs were well spaced and the tile work above in the walls was beautiful. The place was kind of crowded but we really enjoyed our time there. This place is very cute, and the food is typically always great. However, parking is really difficult, and prices are far too high. The atmosphere here is really nice, but the cafe itself can be quite crowded during peak lunch and dinner hours. I got the Grilled Veggie w/ Pesto Sandwich which tasted great and was pretty filling, but the salad that came with it was fairly bland. I'd definitely recommend if you want a nice vegetarian option. The Sunrise Pizza is also very tasty which is topped with different meats and a nice, runny poached egg. Since Urth is well known for its Green Tea Latte, I also got the Green Tea Latte Blended w/ Boba (Almond Milk Subbed for 65 cents extra). If you're like me and like to add avocado to everything and get sides of fruit, and switch it to egg whites... they'll do pretty much anything but be prepared to pay for it! I can easily drop $30 or $40 on lunch here but there are way less expensive ways to order! But adding a side of fruit is SO north the up charge guys. It's the freshest and most delicious fruit side ever. Pineapple, melon, papaya, berries, what?!?! Right now my favorite lunch dish is the sprout sandwich, with no sprouts, on wheat bread with a side of fruit. It's a veggie sandwich and is to die for. For breakfast I'm into the egg white and spinach panini, which is a delicious vegetarian sandwich. I add avocado (duh), plus a side of sausage (both the mild and spicy sausages are so good and they're huge.) Whenever I wanted something like fresh juice or sandwiches I would come here, I love their paninis, I've tried their chicken pesto and spicy chicken with cilantro, I love them both. Urth Caffe is ALWAYS bustling. I've been here a bunch of times - it's hard to avoid especially since I live right by it! Located on the corner of Madison and Colorado, Urth Caffe has a very vibrant look. I love the interior, exterior, and feel of the place. The restaurant is built as an empty square, so the center of Urth Caffe is exposed. The tall ceilings along with the open structure allow for a lot of natural light. There is seating all around the outside (but still covered) as well as some tables indoors. The main entrance is where you line up to order and receive a number. From there, someone will come out to your table with your food once it's ready. If you drop by for takeout, there is a separate room where you order. You can get to the takeout counter through an entrance off of Madison or if you walk through the restaurant. That same room is where your order will be called when it's ready. The menu is so diverse, there are plenty of options. My first impression of Urth Caffe was thinking of it as an upscale panera. The dessert menu is fantastic! There are so many options and you get to stare at all the rich treats while you're in line for your order. Honestly, I've enjoyed everything I've tried here (the following are a few): grilled cilantro chicken w/pesto sandwich, panini el diablo, pizza catona. When it comes to desserts and drinks, I've tried a variety. The most interesting one was the rising sun latte [matcha green tea | espresso | dark chocolate] - I actually didn't like it at first but the taste grew on me and I ended up liking it. I haven't had it since but I wouldn't disregard getting it again! I'll definitely be back to Urth Caffe. The line was OUT the door but they were pretty on top of getting you through the line. They bring out your food and they seem to have a pretty good system. So I had a latte with boba in it in a coffee mug, kind of strange but it was rather good. Nice way to start the day. I also had the avocado toast which was pretty good too. The drink menu may be overwhelming but once you have tried the full gamut of beverages, it will be difficult to narrow which will wet your palette that day. Went on a Saturday afternoon with a friend after an intense cycle sesh at the equinox down the street. Famished and ready for the, "mind-blowing mint green tea latte" my friend recommended, we were seated in about 25 minutes. I ordered a waffle and fruit [because I'm a breakfast champion] and the mint green tea latte of lore, only to be confronted with a plain waffle and a subpar green tea latte. To begin, I'm not sure why this location is rated low. I have had the pleasure of coming to this location several times especially at random times of the day. One thing that never changes is the high quality atmosphere. The staff is always on it and ready to recommend or walk me through the menu. The last time I was in I had the pleasure of meeting the Manager, I believe his name was Michael. He had such an up beat personality that sure stood out. He walked over to my table and introduced himself and asked how everything turned out. It's not at ever place that you get the chance to feel welcomed and well taken care of like I did. I always have had a great eating experience here! Breakfast, lunch, dinner... Anytime is good to enjoy urth cafe... My favorite time to go here is around 2. That way I can avoid the lunch rush and enjoy the sun :) I always order the honey vanilla latte and it always comes out perfect! For food, I usually get the cheese tamales, quesadilla, chicken noodle soup, or waffles and fruit, this place never disappoints. The food remains consistent, lines aren't too bad, and the waiting period is fair. There is plenty of space to sit. Indoors, outdoors, inside patio, outside patio. The chairs aren't too comfy, and the tables are kind of small, but that's what you get at a cafe Service is good, not great. Menu is fairly large. Great dessert options. Open late. Hands down my favorite brunch place in Pasadena! Great to catch up with my girlfriends over a nice coffee and dessert. read more

The restaurant seems always busy, though, so you usually wait 15 mins to order and find a seat. The food is quick to come out, taking 15-25 mins. Their service however has always been a point of contention because it takes forever and attitude of the employees can be ROUGH! Today, was WAY WORSE then the normal terrible. My food took the normal length of forever (I waited patiently while listening to the man behind me crack jokes that it is called Urth Cafe because their service is so slow we will all have decomposed back into the earth by the time we're served) but my drink arrived 30 minutes after I was given my food. The perfect amount of time had passed to ensure my Panini was the perfect amount of disgusting SOGGY MOISTNESS for an overpriced sandwich. Yum .....NOT SO MUCH. Only possible issue could be parking but there is a paid parking lot in the back. I had an iced Spanish Latte and was very pleased! This is an okay place for aesthetically pleasing food. My friends and I came here on a Wednesday afternoon, and it wasn't all too busy. The cafe inside is very cute and cozy, and there are seats indoors and outdoors. You order first and then you take a number and get seated. We waited for a good 15 minutes for our food. The avocado toast was okay. It looked super super healthy and instagram worthy but the taste was meh - avocado didn't have any seasoning and the toast was mediocre. My friends got the sandwich along with a salad and the salad had no seasoning!! I get that this place is healthy but maybe have some seasonings on the side for people who prefer more flavor?
