The place was bustling with people, both indoors and outdoors, engaged in lively conversations. The pizza tasted so fresh and delicious, easily the best I've had in a while! I also had the chance to try the Organic Green Tea Boba, which my friend recommended since she knew about how much I love anything matcha and green tea. Upon arrival, we street parked and the ordering process takes place at the front counter. We were given a number after we paid and were free to sit wherever we liked. Urth used to and continues to make adorable coffee foamed-lattes and cappuccinos but their food is very much warehouse bakery style. On the outside, behind the display glass they look delicious especially if you're hungry from looking for damn parking in this area (hint: Target). But not much to say in terms of mass produced croissants and danishes, they're yummy but to a degree. For some reason all the cafes decide to re-serve their purchase without any adjustment whatsoever. At least toast these up for like 2 minutes before stuffing them in a bag or on a plate?? I had leftovers and baked them up at home for another 5-8 min.-- much much better. So much more flaky and crispy. I find Urth Caffe to be good, but not great. I do enjoy a matcha latte over ice, but at almost $10 for a drink, it just feels way overpriced. It is tasty and enjoyable, but I feel like there are more affordable options around. I enjoy the patio area and that they provide free wi-fi so you can get some work done or hang out with some friends and enjoy some fresh air. Urth often has a wait, so don't expect to just get in and get out in 10 minutes. Another note is that parking can be a bit tricky as it is a busy area. read more

I love Urth Caffé, and this is a super cute location in Pasadena. Both indoor and outdoor seating, but outdoor is definitely where it's at. Sitting indoors here always makes me feel claustrophobic because it gets so busy, especially near the front counter. It's a seat yourself situation which can be challenging. You get a number and then have to find a table. I like getting a tea latte here because they have unique concoctions. Last time I got like a rose tea and my friend got a hot matcha. Both were really yummy. We also ordered some brunchy food. I had the quiche, which was delicious. I was savoring every bite. I like that it came with a little salad too. I think my biggest gripe is how expensive everything is. You can easily spend over $30 on just one food item and a drink. Food is good, but not five stars good. The lady who's delivering the food and coffee is really nice but the rest of the staff aren't. 1 hr for 2 lattes is completely unreasonable. I will usually order the El Diablo Panini. It comes with a generous side of spinach drenched in some sort of oil sauce. I love it though, this dish is my favorite here. We also order the chicken quesadilla which is really good too. You will sometimes have to wait so long for your food to arrive or to even order. Lastly, we had the sausage and potato omelette which was just okay and was the most expensive item we ordered by adding tomato and mushroom; would not order this again. My favorite sandwich in the whole wide world is your EL DIABLO PANINI. It has the perfect ratio of cheese to chicken to jalapeños. However, what on earth is this side salad? I hate it. It's the worst. The spinach leaves are way too huge. Thank god I always eat with my husband who allows me to chew like a dinosaur BUT what if had to go on a date? What is up with these huge ass spinach leaves? Can we cut them up please? And I think I found 2 pecans and 3 olives and 1 tomato in my salad. What happened with the ratio there buddy? This dressing is also pretty sad. Way too slimy, always gets all over my face. I'd rather you fix the salad up OR just get rid of it. The sandwich is good enough. First off, I knew this trendy cafe would be pricey going in so keep that in mind. With tip my boba and pizza was $33. Aside from that the food was delicious and I really enjoyed my green rose boba. Urth Caffe is a bustling breakfast and brunch establishment located on a corner right on Colorado Boulevard in Downtown Pasadena. The entryway is a magnificent arch. It's order at the counter (which we found seems to be the thing at many places in the area). They serve organic coffee and tea and offer a great selection of fresh pastries and breakfast options. We went with a Chocolate Pistachio Croissant (simply decadent), English tea latte and a cappuccino. The English tea latte was light on the "tea", and very heavy on the milk and bit too sweet. Horrible, horrible experience. I ordered a Tiramisu around 3pm for pick up at 9pm. Around 8pm I get a call from Urth Cafe stating that someone forgot to place my order so they ran out of Tiramisu. Dropped by for a late Saturday afternoon sweet tooth fix while in the area. Got the house coffee and the Pistachio Tiramisu (pictured). This dessert was delicious, not too sweet and satisfying. Hi. My name is Rosemary. Being an SGV girl, I've been coming to this place periodically for about a decade. Last year in December of 2024, I ordered Cheese Tamales to go. I bit into one of the tamales and suddenly felt something extremely hard on my back molars and immediately spit food out and what was inside was 1 of two things: a BB from a gun or a ball bearing! I immediately was overwhelmed with disgust, anxiety and slight pain. I contacted Urth Cafe through email and it took 3 weeks for a response back. The man Alfredo who called me said he needed to investigate the issue and acted like he was skeptical. Yeah, how do you think I feel?! I sent him pictures etc and told him I still had the metal ball and tamale in my fridge so they can test it etc to see how the heck that got embedded in my tamale. He said they'd test it. It's now the end of January and I texted him back how my refrigerator has started to smell from the old tamale and he said I could through it away! He then says they can offer me a refund and a gift certificate. I said I don't want a gift certificate because honestly, now I am traumatized by that kitchen and won't eat there again; I was thinking he might offer me a gift certificate to somewhere else (anywhere else) for good measure. Instead, he got back and said, ok then, you'll get your refund soon. I am not a peasant like he was treating me, so let it be. After talking with my boyfriend who happened to be with me the day I bit into that scandalous tamale and helped take pictures of everything, advised me to just take what they offered and gift it to someone who it won't bother. So, just now I texted Alfredo asking when I'll be receiving the refund since it hasn't showed up yet as well as told him I'll just take the gift certificate after all (not even knowing the amount). He scandalously wrote back, "unfortunately, at this point I cannot offer you anything..." WOW, WOW and WOW!!! I simply said that he and the owners of Urth Cafe sound like scandalous people as they treated me just like that: Scandalous‼ I ended the text conversation today by blessing him and his family and adding + May all the good and righteous people of the World always prosper. So, I guess that's that and in my most recent experience, the kitchen of Urth Cafe in Pasadena is Scandalous and the way I was treated by Alfredo, the Urth Cafe owners and higher ups was SCANDALOUS and DESPICABLE!!!‼ So, I hope and pray that the same experience I endured or anything similar never happens to another loyal customer again or even a first time customer!!! First time encountering a bad experience here. Usually the customer service is whatever. I come back mostly for their sandwich. When you order at the counter the cashier purposely says salad, fruit, or potato like you have a choice. Luckily I have been here before IT COST EXTRA TO SUBSTITUTE. The cashier or urth in general tricks you with that. When my friend went inside and called them out the cashier and manager were extremely rude. They were pretending like they were genuine with that concern that they purposely tricked us. They could care less. She gave my friend a refund and said they would bring out a salad (as if it was complimentary). She comes out and hands the salad and tells my friend to grab the sandwich off the plate with the fruits and switch it out.
