Grabbed lunch with a friend during President's day and it was busy. You order inside, grab a number, and find your own seat. Because it's a look for your own seat kind of place, you have to walk around the couple times hoping someone is done eating to snatch a table. I also thought that kind of sucked in a way because the place is crowded and wraps around a corner, so you would see waiters looking lost trying to find the right table. The food itself was okay, but nothing spectacular. I got the pesto chicken sandwich and I thought the sandwich was on the dry side. The salad they give as a side was also nothing exciting as it was just the greens with what felt like a drizzle of a super light tasting vinaigrette. I don't see myself coming back here as it felt expensive for how their food tasted. read more

This is a nice and relaxing brunch place with a big menu selections and good coffee. It's a good walking distance from Fuller Seminary as well. You order at the counter and staff will bring out the food for you when it's ready. The place is very clean and spacious. Plenty of tables outside. There's multiple heaters to keep you warm when it's cold too. The staff are very friendly and service is fast. The food is aesthetic and delicious. Highly recommend to get a hot latte for their amazing latte art. Their pastries tasted fresh and eye catching! read more

We came to this Urth Caffé to meet up with friends that we hadn't seen in a long time, just to have a terrible experience. Our friends got served there food , finished eating before us while we still waited for our food , it took 45 minutes for us to get there order and all the manager came to tell us was that she was sorry , they had confused our order and threw our receipt away , thinking they had served our food already! Every time I come here I've had no complaints. Their food is delicious and is a great casual place with friends or family or even just by yourself. Order a sandwich, a green tea boba or cute satisfying latte and enjoy. They have a great bakery section that is a little bit more health conscious treats in my opinion. We ordered a variety of baked goodies which kinda have a home-made vibe to them. I've been to Urth Caffé a couple of times, but I'm not obsessed with this place like everyone else is. They have a lot of options, which I like, and the food is okay, but I don't think any of it warrants the long lines I see there every weekend. I brought my family here the first time they visited me in LA (in 2018), then returned to meet a friend here for lunch late last year. The first time I ordered the prosciutto panini and a Spanish latte. My family liked what they got and said they'd return. My panini was average, but the latte was pretty good. The second time I ordered the butternut squash & ricotta pizza and the iced tea of the day. The iced tea was refreshing, but the pizza was a bit bland. Wouldn't reorder any of the food I've tried here. The best part about this place aside from the vast options is the customer service. A coworker of mine likes the matcha tiramisu from here, and when I stopped by after work to buy one for him for his birthday, they had already closed the registers and were only accepting cash. I didn't have cash, and they gave me the tiramisu for free. I really appreciated that, because I couldn't get to the cafe any sooner and his birthday was the following day (and at that time I started work at 6am). Because of the customer service, I'll be back again. But I'm not gonna come on a weekend. read more

This beautiful cafe is located in Pasadena. Nice vibe with a European-style cafe. Tons of yummy food selections and amazing desserts if you have a sweet tooth. I had the Divine Spice CHAI Latte, it was delicious with steamed milk and honey. Caffeine free was a bonus as well. I gave it a 4/5 only because I asked this worker who was cleaning tables for directions to the bathroom he ignored me even when I tried to wave at him he looked and never responded or to see what I asked him. Urth Caffe is such a cute spot for brunch or catchup with the girls! Or a cute date spot. I came with my friends on a Friday around sunset time and we sat out at the patio. The vibes are immaculate. I ordered the portabella panini which is a vegan panini made with vegan cheese, sourdough, and lots of portabella mushroom! It comes with an optional free side salad. I thought the sandwich was pretty good but it was quite greasy. The salad was way overdressed with vinaigrette (there was just so much oily coating on every leaf) but the veggies itself were very fresh and nice! My friends shared a pizza and captures sandwich. We also got orange juice and their fresh squeezed orange juice is SO good - must get. There was lots of free street parking since it was after 6pm but urth caffe also has a paid parking lot where you pay by the hour. Service is quick and everyone is really friendly. The bathroom might be locked so you'll have to ask the workers to open it for you. Restrooms were quite dirty when I went. read more

Do yourself a favor and try the Spanish Latte. Absolutely delicious. Urth has wonderful, clean good food. The soup is always great and the (press) tea is wonderful to share. There is a lot to enjoy. read more

Service was not good here, I was snubbed by the cashier and one of the servers almost walked into me with food and then got mad at me and said "what the hell?". The food is not good enough to make up for the fact that they seemed desperate for employees and hired just about anyone. I waited at the counter for my to go order while the employee stood there talking to his friend with my order in his hand. read more

Ordered natural beef hash, a pork panini, a watermelon juice, and a sunshine juice. Nothing really tasted good, the beef hash was not served warm/hot, it was room temperature including the toast. The pork panini tasted bit bland, though the tomato sauce I thought was pretty okay. The watermelon juice had very little watermelon taste, and for the sunshine juice you could mostly taste the ginger and lemon among other fruits included. The sunshine juice was okay despite the lack of flavor as described, and also the ginger really gives you that burn in the throat and some like it some don't so it really depends! read more

OMG I had terrible experience here! Was there on Sunday 3/22 afternoon ordered Vegan Panini Portabella. It arrived 25minutes later than the rest if my partys order( we all ordered at the same time) When it arrived the bottom piece of bread was completely burned (black entirely) I notified the server, an Asian guy with an attitude, he stated he needed to take the food back. I said fine but I will eat the salad part of this meal! He gave an attitude and walked away, 1 minute later he comes back behind me and grabs the sandwich that was on my plate without any warning or notice!!!! mind you I am eating the salad thats on there. He takes off with the sandwich on his hands and says nothing!!!! I notified the manager, but he gave me a lame apology and asks if I still wanted the sandwich!!!! I said yes. I want one that is not burned!!!! But honestly at this point I was so angry that I did not even enjoyed it wen it arrived :( read more

Being from out of town, I was taken to Urth for brunch and I loved it! What a great place. SO many choices to choose from. I would say go with their signature drinks first, just to try. Very good. Their baked items are very good and you have so many options. We also got cooked food, which was also great. You can find something for everyone at this place. An absolutely gorgeous cafe with beautiful tile work and an impressive pastry display. Coffee was outstanding--we ordered Spanish lattes. Their everything bagels were so fresh and delicious. I gave it a "3" for old times sake but honestly I won't be going back to Uurth cafe for a long,long time. 2 coffees and 2 avocado toasts for $60? And it wasn't good: drinks were pretty but tasteless (green rose matcha was bland) and worse, the "toast" was not toasted. It was a COLD runny poached egg on a very thick piece of bread that wasn't toasted. It was actually pretty gross. The cakes and other desserts are still good and the atmosphere is uplifting and lively but generall it is not worth the subpar, overpriced food and drink. read more

I've been going to Urth Caffès around LA for years and this Pasadena location is my favorite one. Parking is never a disaster, lines are always reasonable, and there is ample and very spacious seating both indoor and outdoor for groups and even dogs. Today, I had the Urth Acai bowl for the second time and have now decided that is going to my go-to breakfast order moving forward. It's probably one of the best acai bowls I've had in LA. It's small, which I prefer, because I don't typically like it when larger acai bowls melt in one sitting and I just don't finish it. But THIS is acai bowl is so perfect. The cacao adds an even more miraculous touch. I almost ordered a second one. I will definitely start getting this more often. I can't believe it took me so long to try. I also tried they're new banana walnut waffles which were also a hit! A little too sweet for me, considering I had a fruit filled breakfast already, but others at my table thoroughly enjoyed! read more

I was near by Urth Caffé, so I decided to go and give it a try. I ordered chicken curry wrap which I ate it there. Then I ordered nutella girella bun, flourless chocolate cake, banana cream pie to go. The chicken curry wrap was savory and delicious. I tried the dessert when I went home, I liked them all specially the banana cream pie. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable. I cannot wait until I go back and try more goodies from their menu. read more

We came around 6:30pm and the line was long but moved fast. There was only one person taking orders but he was polite. We ordered two hot lattes and a cheesecake which was delicious. Sat for 30 minutes waiting for the drinks. My husband finally went up to the counter where others also were inquiring about their drinks. The atmosphere is noisy and congested. If you have the time, it may be fine. I think it's a bit overhyped as other reviewers noted. Not for me. read more

Service was fast and easy, very friendly staff. Ambiance is great, especially after a long morning hike. urth Cafe was good but I think I was just expecting more. I got the sunrise pizza like most people recommend but it was just a regular pizza the dough wasn't special and it just felt like everything I ordered was like this. good but not great. I think it is a good place to go if you live here and are looking for a consistent place to get breakfast this is great but if you are visiting socal it can be skipped. read more

Urth cafe is so popular that I waited in line for 15 minutes, received my matcha latte 30 minutes later and it was no longer hot. I had asked for a pot of hot water with lemon for my guest and that never materialized. I may need to go when it's not at maximum capacity. Food is good and the lattes usually are too. Downtown Utah Cafe is my favorite location. read more

Love coming here. Line is always long but it goes fast. Lots of outdoor seating. I ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict, fruit tart and latte. If you become a member, your 11th drink is free. You also get a free dessert on your birthday month. Parking is always a challenge so come before the lunch rush. read more

Want to wait over 30 minutes for a latte? Want to wait in line that stretches out the door even on a Monday because there is only one or two cashiers? Want to get attitude from management who make excuses for their inability to handle a busy restaurant? Want to pay $40 for an at best average meal? Then Urth Caffe Pasadena is for you. I just waited over 30 minutes for an iced cafe mocha that still wasn't even started by the time I asked for the status. I was told by the rude manager, Alex, that they were busy (it's 9 pm on a Saturday night, well after the dinner crowd would be gone). They had only one cashier--the to go coffee area wasn't even making coffees. There are plenty of restaurants in LA that get busy, but do not take over 30 minutes to get a coffee. After I got a refund I told Alex that this is unacceptable. Rather than apologize and accept responsibility, he deflected and gave a bs Trumpian non-apology that he was sorry that I "felt that way." I told him that it isn't just that "I felt that way," but that waiting for a coffee for over 30 minutes is objectively unreasonable, particularly when they didn't warn me of the wait. Who wouldn't feel this way about having waited over 30 minutes for a simple coffee? Alex, being the shrill little b---- and narcissist he is, simply repeated that he was sorry "I felt this way." I've been coming to Urth Caffe for after dinner drinks and dessert for so long...and I can't believe I've never Yelped it before! Probably because I'm in such a blissful food coma afterwards.... Anyways, my favorite drink here is the Rumi Latte. It's a delicious mix of turmeric, oat milk, cinnamon and maple syrup yummmm! And the portion sizes for all the drinks are SO big! Soooo worth the money! Next, the freaking DESSERTS are where it's at!!!! I keep coming back to their tiramisu. It's perfectly creamy and sweet. And so filling! Definitely share with a friend, because the portions are gigantic. We also LOVE the cheesecakes (Oreo and berry cheesecake are both delicious). Lastly, my friend got the vegan chocolate cake last time and it was soooo delicious. Very very decadent and rich, so again, make sure to bring a friend to split it! read more

So this was the very first time I tried this spot. And I probably wouldn't have gone if one of my girlfriends hadn't invited me. She treated me to a late birthday lunch. I honestly thought it was just a coffee and tea spot. I had no idea all of the variety of food selections, a lot of organic choices, too. This was right up my alley since I always go to the Tender Greens across the street. I will say the parking is horrible. I had to circle and circle until I found a park on the street. Other than that, it's worth it. We didn't wait long because we ordered in the take out location in the back. I will probably wait in the front line next time to get the full dine in experience. There's a lot of seating outside which I like. I ordered the turkey burger with monterey Jack Cheese. It was so delicious. The breakfast potatoes were so tasty. I wasn't prepared for the honey in my vanilla latte. It was really good, but I'm not a fan of honey in it, so next time, I'd leave that out. I am really looking forward to going back because there's so much to choose from. And the desserts, yum, yum, yum. I had the chocolate loaf cake, so good. Went on a Sunday afternoon very busy,finding a table was a challenge- had a sprout sandwich which was just ok expecting a better tasting sandwich driven 20 miles. Really mediocre food at a high price point. I went on a Saturday for brunch and it was pretty packed. The food was unremarkable and portions were small considering how much we paid. Got the natural beef hash and it was super salty. Never coming back here again. read more

The Rising Sun Matcha Latte was heavenly and so was the Napoleon, but I will say I was a little disappointed with the Smoked Salmon plate and blueberry muffin. There's really nothing special about those two, so I would definitely try something else! I do think this place is hyped, but it's pretty good still, and they are QUICK with getting the food out! The standout of course is the chocolate croissant. It's quite flaky. Where the surprise comes in is that there seems to be a custard layer inside, along with melted chocolate around the outer parts of the croissant. It's a unique experience and recommend trying while it's hot.

Before I begin id like to say, I love going to urth cafe and typically go to DTLA, but this time I chose to visit the one in Pasadena. BIG MISTAKE. I waited in the long like that is typical, but when arriving at the register was told they were not taking tap or inserting or swiping Rather, they were processing the order and WRITING DOWN your card information on a receipt. I hesitated but decided to put my trust in them. I gave them my card and they wrote down my in info. To my surprise they just put it in clear view of other customers facing up with my info and unattended. Meaning anyone could take a photo or swipe it. As I was done ordering I left my friends to go pick a table and upon my return their system was "fixed" and they were able to charge with card. I requested my card be charged and given back my receipt with my info written down. This was not the end however. As the server comes to drop off the food and drink, the server brought out the wrong drink. I checked my receipt and dismissed it as miscommunication between the cashier and I. I asked the server if there was anything I could do and they said to give them a second as they call a manager and walked away. I waited ten minutes and the manager nor the server came back. I had to ask another server and ask them to call a manager. This time the manager came out and she asked me what the issue was. She took my drink and my receipt and asked me if I'd like It exchanged. I said yes and she disappeared with my receipt and incorrect drink. I waited and finished my meal and waited even more for my drink to come out and it never did. 20 minutes since the manager had come to "correct" the mistake had passed and nothing was brought out. At this point, I was frustrated with the poor customer service and headed inside to ask the cashier that messed up my order for a manager. A different manager came out and I had to explain to him everything that occurred and asked for a refund as I was leaving. He told me to give him a second as he would go check on my drink. I overhear him asking the kitchen if it's been made and they reply back saying no and that they were never aware of a drink. The manager does not apologize and instead tells me he can make it and to give him a few minutes. I reiterate that I am leaving cannot wait a "few" minutes to get my drink and would rather get a refund. He keeps insisting disregarding the fact that I have to leave. He budgets and agrees to give me the refund only to come back and say that their system is "down" again. He asks me to write down my name and phone number to expect a call back later that day or by the end of the week. I have worked food industry before and I have a lot of patience, so it is very frustrating when they keep messing up again and again. At this point there's no excuse. I have NOT received a call back and it's been TWO WEEKS. Management here is quite honestly PATHETIC and I am not coming back. read more

Urth Cafe is overrated. After reading great reviews about it, I planned a date night with Urth Cafe being our last place to unwind and have coffee and desert. We went on a Sat night at about 845/9pm... There was a long line which was okay and expected on that time of night. We waited in line about 20 min, when we finally got to the pastry display area, an employee signaled us to order at the "to go" register. So to start it was hard to see pastries and we were walking back and forth which was a pain... Our order was a regular coffee, a latte, cheesecake and crumb cake... We got our coffee and cheesecake at time of order; got a number to place on our table to wait for latte and crumb cake... Their table system seems to be there just so they can say they have a system... it is so confusing. They tell us to go to the side to get seated and that someone would direct us; but to start, no one is there to seat anyone, there are tables empty and counter seats empty but you cant sit because if the employee who is guarding the entrance see's you, she will direct you to the side to wait to get seated. So confusing! We had them call the manager who is about 20 years old and seemed completely overwhelmed by their own table seating system. We waited for about 20 min and finally got the crumb cake but the the latte never came. The waiter who delivered the crumb didnt even know we had a drink on the order... The crumb cake was very dry, I give it a 1 out of 10. We left most of it there. I went back to cashier to ask for refund because my latte never arrived... All in all... bad experience. Employees seem confused as to the system, it seems disjointed and confusing. A recommendation would be to consider the placement of the to go cashier, the seating arrangement and the disbursement of drinks. I would not come back here again, it seems more of a trend that I'm sure will die off soon. read more

I usually don't gravitate toward popular cafés because, in my experience, they tend to be overhyped--great for coffee but disappointing when it comes to food. However, Urth Caffé completely changed my mind! I was hesitant at first, but after eating here, I can confidently say it's absolutely delicious and worth the visit. The atmosphere is great for groups, with plenty of seating options. They have a spacious outdoor dining area and two indoor dining areas, so even when it gets busy, you're not crammed in. The customer service was excellent--friendly staff, quick service, and they brought out our drinks almost immediately. We waited less than five minutes for our food, which was impressive given how packed the place was. Now, let's talk about the food! I ordered the sausage and potato omelet with a spicy sausage on the side, and it was full of flavor. My wife and I also shared a Nutella croissant, which was rich, flaky, and topped with hazelnuts--absolutely heavenly. My wife had a breakfast sandwich with jalapeños (a great balance of spice and flavor), my son got the chicken jalapeño pizza, and my daughter had the salmon bagel--everything was fresh and well-prepared. Thank you for coming to Pasadena!! Yummy yum yum! My family and I stopped by on Saturday and it was BUUUSSSSSSYYYYYY. But it was wonderful! There is a big lunch crowd here so expect to see a long line, but don't worry, it goes fast! We each decided to try something different. Spanish latte was recommended by the cashier, so we went for it. My mom has a beautiful French press tea- hot tea on a hot day- she's nuts I know- but it was super flavorful-AND organic! Thought our food would take a while by the sound of the reviews but our tummies were filled up fast. Maybe 25 minutes till the food came out- super fast for a place of this quality. We spent about an hour here- worth every moment. I decided to bring some friends on Sunday, since my first visit was so great. A bit busier, but expected on a Sunday near a bunch of churches. It was about a 35 min. wait for food and 15 for drinks, but totally worth it again. Had the Green Tea boba this time and a sprout sandwich. It seems to have gotten a bit busier then they were ready for, but the staff pulled it off great! I saw a lot of smiles. Dear Urth Caffe, Don't worry about those that are complaining about service and dogs. Your a new restaurant- you will learn. Perfection isn't reached over night. Since my last review I found out that they are rehating some of the food that was cooked in their central kitchen some where else probably night before. As this is the case I would not warrant buying their meals that has a heated Item because the price they are charging is equivalent to freshly cooked resturants at other places, and since they do not have to pay professional chefs at their resturant the owners are pulling in way more profit and not passing it to customers. Also rehating a previosly cooked food has less vitamins and nutrions so you would be wasting your money and just filling your stomac. Also not all their ingridents are Organic , it is hit and miss based on what produce they buy that week or if it exactly specified in the menu. Only ask the manager about and the ingrideint, regular employees have no clue. So my only recomendation to pick some of the organic drinks and if you are vegan enjoy their deserts, don't buy the meals from here, also ask wether the salads are organic from manager before buying them otherwise you be chewing pestisides and contibuting to your future cancer. 2 stars for reheating food and lack of knowledge of employees ( mostly cashiers) about the ingridients. read more

Urth Caffe, had a great time in Santa Monica Location. However the LAX Airport Terminal 1 new caffe is the slowest, most frustrating retail experience I have had in a while. They have what seems like 8 employees watching the line and one employee on the register even though there are several other Point of sale stations open at the counter. It takes 10-20 minutes to get a coffee, boba, or sandwich all of which I have ordered individually on different occasions. Most of the waiting time is for the employees behind the counter to talk to each other about their social media accounts and what they are going to do after work. I have come three times as I travel through every Sunday and it is the same experience every time even though the employees seem different. If you are the owner I would strongly suggest checking this out as it is not the level of service you provide at other locations and I am sure the profile and cost of your lease justifies fixing the problem. As an owner of my own retail business I would be furious to find out my employees at one location would be so far off the mark of our brand. I hope this comment can help. read more

This particular Urth Caffé is located on a street corner and is a great place to sip a latte and do some people-watching. The decor is pleasant with Spanish tiles on the ceiling, and a fountain in the back. They have great sandwiches, especially the chicken curry one. In general, prices are kind of expensive, but portions are pretty generous. My personal favorite item here is the delicious Mediterranean platter, which comes with hummus, tabouli, roasted peppers, artichokes, etc. It is quite a generous portion, and perfect for sharing. The hummus in particular is really good. The tostada here is also great, with the choice of having either chicken or roasted veggies. Unfortunately, many of their salads are disappointing. They are mostly comprised of a heaping of greens drizzled in a bit of oil. For dessert, I'd recommend their delicious pumpkin pie, which happens to be both vegan and gluten free. I've tried the earl gray tiramisu, and it was decent, but not something I'd get again. Drinks here are great, especially their lattes. The Japanese green tea latte is probably one of the best I've ever had. read more

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I embarked on a pie-purchasing adventure that could rival any epic quest. Armed with a budget of $55 each, I acquired one pumpkin pies and one sweet potato pies from Urth Caffe. Little did I know, the pumpkin pie was priced as if it were a three-in-one deal from Marie Callendar--talk about inflation! Upon unboxing, I was greeted by pies that seemed to have been crafted by a committee of crusty critics. The crusts were so hard, they could probably double as a weapon in a medieval joust. And the flavor? Well, let's just say it was as subtle as a marching band. The pumpkin pie, in particular, had a taste that could only be described as "cardboard chic." It was so unappetizing, I considered using it as a doorstop instead. In hindsight, my decision to purchase these pies was a bit like inviting a turkey to a vegetarian potluck--awkward and unsatisfying. The $55 investment felt more like a donation to the "Pie of Disappointment" fund, and the cardboard taste has left a lasting impression on my palate--one that I hope to erase with a generous serving of mashed potatoes. read more

Matcha. Matcha. Matcha. MATCHA. I LOVE their matcha latte. The drink is called Japanese Tea Latte and apparently delivers a mega dose of antioxidants (supposedly when not mixed with dairy). I used to order the Spanish Latte with almond milk all the time, which I still love, but now matcha with almond milk is my thing. With an almond croissant. At 6:15am. Just before going hiking in the local mountains. FYI for matcha lovers: They offer a regular grade and a more expensive high grade matcha called Wazuka (name of the town in Japan where the tea comes from). Apparently the high grade Wazuka is best when ordering a shot of the tea (like an espresso shot) or non-latte drink. Apparently the regular grade is more appropriate for lattes taste-wise. I absolutely love Urth Caffe and I normally go to their downtown location but I was in the area and decided to go to their Pasadena location. Long story short, I was pretty disappointed in their customer service. I ordered my usual Panini Roasted Turkey and when my order finally came out, I didn't get the usual dipping sauce that the meal comes with. I asked one of the waiters walking around if they could bring me the dipping sauce, 10 minutes later, still no waiter. I then decided to walk up to the waiter standing by the pickup area to ask him for the sauce. He said "okay" and went into the kitchen. 10 minutes later, still no waiter. A lady then later approached me and asked if i needed anything. I told her that I had asked someone to bring me sauce but haven't received it yet. She goes into the kitchen, 5 minutes later she comes out to tell me that they ran out of the sauce. It took 25 minutes for someone to tell me that when it could have taken them 2 minutes. Urth Caffé might be a little bit overhyped, but it is still a pretty good café. We've come here on several different occasions, and found our experience slightly different each time. Their chicken curry sandwich is my go-to choice. I've also heard that the tuna salad sandwich is one of the best ones around. However, their salads are pretty disappointing, especially given the price. One thing I personally love is their Mediterranean platter, especially the hummus and tabouli! It is better than almost all the food at Mediterranean restaurants I've tried, and is enough for about 1.5 people. At about $14, it's a bit expensive though. I've also tried the mushroom and spinach quiche, which is pretty tasty and quite filling. For drinks, their lattes are a nice option, especially the green tea latte. In terms of desserts, we've tried an earl gray tiramisu once, and although good, it wasn't something I'd rave about. However, their gluten-free vegan pumpkin pie is quite delicious! read more

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every aspect of our visit was enjoyable. The highlight of our meal was definitely their omelettes. They were cooked to perfection, with fresh, flavorful ingredients that made each bite a delight. The presentation was beautiful, and you could really taste the quality in every mouthful. I have visited several Urth Caffe locations. This one I frequent the most from grabbing breakfast to meeting friends. However their process for picking up to go orders in the Madison Room needs improvement. This morning, it took longer to wait in one line to pick up my breakfast than it took to prepare and drive over. Several other patrons in line ahead and behind me were picking up coffees and they too lamented having to wait for their singular item. The staff service this morning was very abrasive. By the time I picked up my margarita pizza (for breakfast - judge your mom jk) it was cold. I'm sure the other patrons in line behind me met the same cold fate for their lattes and tea. With the volume of to go orders it would be more efficient to have additional staff in the Madison room specifically to staff the to go orders separate from patrons placing orders at the kiosk. read more

I love, love Urth! I have been to the WeHo, Santa Monica and this, Pasadena location. Pasadena location is very spacious compared to the other two, and has convenient street parking that is free after 6pm. My fave dishes from here are: cilantro chicken pesto sandwich, urth farmer's salad with chicken added, the Mediterranean platter, original tiramisu, vegan gluten-free pumpkin pie, flourless chocolate cake, the dried fruit and nut bread (comes with certain salads), honey vanilla latte with almond milk, hot teas, iced teas, etc. If you're really hungry, get their lasagna (vegetarian), its huge and really yummy! This particular location is probably the farthest from my house, but its so worth it! Their breakfast items are also really tasty. The employees are also really nice and helpful. Urth is completely overrated. Everything is overpriced and quite frankly, I can make better food at home. We got a quesadilla and salad for what we thought would be a romantic dinner. The quesadilla was cold, the salad was smothered in oil, and our (cold) drinks were warm? Not only that, we had some pastries and the cheesecake tasted like a 5 year old made it and added too much egg. The fruit tart had a crust made of cement. Even the fruit on the desserts felt stale and hard like old bread. Not to mention their bread was also sub par. I'm very disappointed in the service here. I'm almost certain they just buy pre-made food and put it together to look fancy. If you're looking for a nice scene then Urth is a must. If you're looking for good food, then your kitchen would be 4-5 stars compared to the 2 stars I gave here. read more

I've always wanted to go here so bad and I've finally had a chance to try! Woo~ Hoo~!!! The best thing of all, I had a chance to eat there twice. The first trip was with my girl friend. Had there famous latte and salad. The Thai latte was good! I really liked it. The salad was okay, nothing different. After our girl talk. My friend treated me for their famous blueberry cheesecake for to go. The blueberry cheesecake was perfectly sweet. Thank you! The second trip was with my husband. I got the Spanish latte and smoked salmon dish and my husband got a pot roast sandwich and mocha latte. The smoked salmon dish wasn't okay. The Spanish latte was good! I've been wanting to come to Urth, Since locals have been telling me of it's worth. I was excited to tell you the truth, Since the clientele was all trendy and youth. Parking was easy to find, The coffee was of a fresh grind, I came early in the day, But there was no need since they serve brunch all day! Their schtick is that most everything is organic and healthy, But the way things tasted that healthy was stealthy! My wife was looking fresh in her brand new blouse, Perfect for walking over to the Pasadena Playhouse. I would come back to Urth at night or when I wake, In the morning for coffee and at night for cheesecake. Everything is delicious and I'm not being passé. I ordered the blueberry French toast, a side of bacon, and some hash browns - which I think they only have on weekdays. The waitress was very helpful and nice and pointed out I should get the combo with two eggs for less money. I did, even though I don't eat eggs, and took a couple cooked over hard home for my son. They looked good. The blueberry French toast was terrific. Excellent flavor, great texture, and the right balance so it wasn't too sweet overall with the syrup. The bacon was great, but it's usually hard to screw up bacon unless the stuff has gone bad. The hash browns were the only disappointment. They look good, but they are a little greasy and not very well seasoned. They're basically too bland. Still, this is one of the best breakfasts I've had in the San Gabriel Valley and around Pasadena. What time do they take their last order? Maybe they should consider adding that information to their Google page, because it would have saved me a walk. Big pieces of mango, light mascarpone filling, and spongy cake made this dessert so worthwhile! I also got the sunny side up and strawberry shortcake!!!! I really wanted to try all so for sure I will be back. Next time, I'm passing on the matcha drinks. Tried the matcha latte with mango and the banana matcha, both of which I found to be lackluster.

We shared two dishes: - chilaquiles: tasty, still crunchy chips, mild spicy salsa verde, scrambled eggs. very tasty. next time will try with meat - french toast: thin, toasted on the edges, soft center, served with powdered sugar and fresh blueberries. will order again Their coffee drinks are delicious. Strong enough espresso for me, enough flavor and sweetness for my sweet tooth husband to love. There was a steady flow of customers coming in. Some ordered to go but a lot of people sat and occupied tables. Nice to see a local small business thriving. But I got bitten by a mosquito immediately, and we took our coffees and moved back inside. The service was good, the breakfast came out quick. I enjoyed my breakfast burrito and the toast and eggs are fine. It's a little pricey for all that at $42. Yes. I understand that we are paying for the expensive neighborhood. It was a good experience but we understand there are many great choices in the area.

They're completely different and both worth trying: one is spicy and smoky, while the other is brighter and more cilantro-forward. Having both really makes the burrito for me. Their iced lattes are simple and straightforward, strong coffee and not overly sweet. If you prefer coffee drinks with minimal sugar, you'll probably really like them. Just know this isn't really the place for huge, heavily flavored, dessert-style iced drinks. Overall, it's a solid breakfast option that I continue coming back to whenever I'm staying in the area. The burritos are filling, easy to take on the go, and I've figured out an order that hits every time.

I keep my burrito pretty basic since I don't like meat in my burrito. I usually get egg, cheese, avocado, and tater tots, and it's SO good. I did try adding the refried beans once, and the first time they were delicious. Unfortunately, the second time they tasted a little off, so now I just stick with my usual order without the beans. And let's talk about the iced coffee! This is probably one of my favorite things here. I work in the area and parking in Pasadena can be a nightmare, so I usually walk about 15 minutes from work. By the time I get here, especially on a hot day, I'm completely overheated and that iced coffee hits the spot every single time. Definitely recommend getting one! The service has also been consistently great. Everyone I've interacted with has been kind and friendly, and the whole operation is really efficient. I also love their app. If it's your first time and you download the app, you get $10 off, which I thought was a great incentive. You also earn rewards with your purchases that you can use toward future orders, and I really appreciate that. Those little perks go a long way! My only complaints are the prices for add-ons. I think $2.50 just to add refried beans is a little steep, especially when you're already purchasing a burrito. Bacon being $4 is also on the pricey side. I don't mind paying typical Pasadena prices, but I do think some of the add-on costs could be more reasonable. Overall, though, I really enjoy Wake and Late and it has quickly become my go-to breakfast/lunch spot when I'm working in the area. Great burritos, AMAZING iced coffee, friendly employees, and a really efficient operation. Their packaging/logo is very nice also. I definitely recommend checking them out and get the iced coffee!

The raspberry cream on top didn't add much flavor either. I also grabbed a day-old pastry. It was pretty hard and had a slightly stale crème-brûlée-like top, although I'll give it credit -- once warmed up, it was actually pretty delicious. Overall, 3 stars. I like the concept and the convenience, but unfortunately nothing I had was quite good enough to make me want to come back anytime soon.
