We have a winner. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Pies, rolls, quiche, breads, cheesecakes, and plenty of other things that don't require a baker. Savory and sweet and delicious. Though I've been here just once (for lunch), I am already plotting my return. I arrived a bit earlier than my friends and in so doing, accidentally avoided the start of the lunch rush. As there are not many tables here, I feel I lucked out snagging a table for us. As I took at the cozy, classy splendor of a still very new establishment, the relaxed but polished decor was both inspiring and low-key. I had an excellent espresso while I got my wish: extended time to take in the menus. The drink menu, and the food menu. It's my favorite when that part of the cafe/restaurant experience delivers tons of time to get really acquainted with a place. Our friendly, helpful server asked the questions I had about the menu, and the time he didn't know he went and found out. Breakfast is served all day, by the way. My friend started with the sausage rolls (accompanied by the freshly made ketchup). Delicious and great for a table starter or a fairly light entree. Good crunch, and moist inside with plenty of seasoning. My entree was the black forest ham quiche. It was indicative of everything else here: the right size, the right mix of produce, protein, fluffy, cheesy egg inside, and anchored by a subtle but first-rate crust. It's served with a fennel based salad, a crisp and a great complement. We were happy and satisfied sooner than expected (alas, Le Moules must wait). Still, I could not resist a little dessert and ordered the Pain Aux Apricot. It was fantastic, something out of a cafe in Paris. Crisp and light and just sweet enough. Appreciated the friendly service. A steady diet of 70's soft-rock quietly served as the soundtrack at this one lunch. Small cozy quintessential shop that makes delicious pies. Was walking around after lunch when I stumbled into this shop. Was craving some sweets and it just so happened I came in to the right spot. This place has a variety of individual pies perfect for one person. Ordered the mixed berry pie (blackberries, raspberries, and one other which I can't recall). Sooooo incredibly delicious. Thought it would be overwhelmingly sweet but it really wasn't. Had it with a cappuccino which was perfect. They also had cherry, apple, and banoffe cream, and I believe a few other seasonal options. But have to say I didn't regret my choice. They also have savory pies including chicken and leek, and beer pies. Was a bit full from lunch but would love to try these at some point. Additionally, they also had some lunch and dinner entrees. Overall super cute and cozy place to sit and enjoy some tea/coffee with a pie. Love the vibe. And the service was also exceptional. We came from another restaurant that didn't have a good selection for desserts, so I just told my Family to go to The PIE ROOM by CURTIS STONE. When we arrived parking was easy, there's a Paid parking structure nearby. When we entered the Pie room it was small, but cute! I love this Beef pie, the Pie crust was very nice, its crunchy and buttery flavor and when I sliced it there was so much Meat in it, it was very flavorful. Adding the pickled things that came with it on the side made it more tasty, it instantly became my reason to come back here again. BANOFEE PIE was my husband's choice. This one is a Banana cream Pie with Passionfruit Jam and Graham Chantilly. This is also a great Pie, and the best part is that it's not too sweet at all. My Son had the PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE COOKIE, oh this one is a simple looking cookie, but it's big and delicious. It has a rich chocolate quality you will taste and overall the combination of Chocolate and Peanut butter is perfect, don't even imagine that it's like Reese's Pieces, 'coz this one is so so good. We had Water and MOROCCAN TEA for our drinks and the TEA is so Perfect with what we had. Pyeat and I believe Matu, I'm not sure the exact way her exact name is pronounced, but she's super great at explaining their Pies. Both of them are amazing. A pleasent little pie room, with sweet and savory pastries and an intimate setting for a dinner date. Had their chocolate croissant and there pie in a jar to take home! Croissant was the perfect balance of airy, flaky, light and buttery with the right amount of chocolate chunk that isn't too sweet or too bitter. I read that the head chef came from Spago and the pastry chef came from Dominique Ansel which in my opinion are both at the top of their category spots. Combine that skill with Curtis Stone's talents in this adorable space, then you'll understand how The Pie Room can be as great as it is. Now y'all, I've worked for an Australian company with 1200 of my closest Aussie friends for 16 years now and have yet to travel there, nor try their savory pies --- until last night. My friend and I went with the Beef & Burgundy Pie ($19) by recommendation of our server and loved it. Flaky outside with generous and delicious filling, I feel whole now. We also had the Chicken Sausage Rolls ($12) which I could say the exact same as I did for the pie - flaky roll and delicious meat. The Pastrami Croissant ($11) had nice slices of the meat with a dash of pickled veggies that surprised me inside. And for breakfast this morning, I've just had their brownie. The rich dessert mixed textures and flavors, definitely not your mama's traditional brownie but it was classy & I'd get it again. During the day, The Pie Room is adorable and cute with a kind of grandma's fancy sitting room feel to the decor except you ARE allowed to sit on the chairs & get comfy. Chic estate sale baroque vibes and I mean that in the best way possible. At night, they dim the lights a bit and focus on adding some wines plus cheeses & charcuterie from Gwen. My review is based off the two pies I got to-go! My friend and I walked in during an off time (like 10:45am) so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves...and all the attention :-) The restaurant is super cute with a lot of personality. It makes you feel warm and welcome. The gentleman behind the counter was so friendly and helpful. He introduced us to the chef and I guess we missed seeing Chef Curtis by 10min. The man who helped us was just so honest in his suggestions and a genuine person, which really made our visit a great one. He let us know they serve an amazing dinner there too. I left with a banana toffee cream pie and an apple pie. While banana was unique and delicious, the apple pie was majestic!! I followed the baking instruction card and it came out perfectly. We had a great experience wandering in here on a Friday night! It's an interesting setup where it's both a bakery that you can order from the counter, and a cute dine-in restaurant. We dined in and got the sea bass, cavatelli duck pasta, beef meat pie, and au pain apricot. Everything was really good! the pasta was probably our least favorite, but my husband still finished the plate. The beef pie came with a delicious pickle side that I loved. The fish was perfectly cooked and very light. We were so full by the end we thought we'd take the apricot pastry home, but it ended up being so good (and perfectly warmed) that we ended up finishing the whole thing. I liked that they brought out each dish one at a time for us to share, rather than each person having their own entree. It made the meal slower paced and we were able to enjoy everything more. They were out of a lot of the pastries and desserts at that point, I think I would def come back to try out more things! Wow, had a really great meal here! The staff is so nice and the place is small and intimate. My only complaint is that the silverware is pretty gnarly and beat up and I think it would serve the place extremely well to get a new set of forks and spoons. The food made up for that though. We started with the chicken and leek pie and the beef burgundy pie. Both pies were so good! The meat filling was tender and flavorful. The pie dough was really nice, flaky, and golden. I think the beef pie was my favorite of the two! For entrees we had the duck cavatelli, steak frites, and the chicken. The chicken was the star for me! It was one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had. The sauce was amazing and the chicken was so moist with flavorful skin, and I *loved* the chicken farce (ground chicken) stuffed into the meat. I've never had chicken-stuffed-chicken before and I think it was a game changer! Would come back just for this dish alone. The steak was really tender with a sumptuous sauce that we loved dipping the frites in to soak up all the goodness. The only entree we didn't care for was the duck cavatelli. The sauce was just okay and the noodles were quite hard. The duck was tasty though, and I'm sure the duck sandwich they sell would be a better alternative. They have a small lunch menu, pastries, and coffee. It's a small space with seating inside and outside. I got an iced cappuccino for $6 and the pain aux apricot for $8. They don't add foam to their iced cappuccino or have clear plastic cups, at least not yet. It's kind of pricey especially since they don't seem to know how to make iced cappuccinos. The iced cappuccino was more of a latte, the espresso is still good. The pain aux apricot was good not too sweet. They do have a large assortment of pastries which is nice. They definitely need to learn how to make iced cappuccinos. I would come back to try other pastries/desserts. read more

I am a big Curtis Stone Fan. I loved Maude before he turned it into the pie room. I have gotten to-go orders a few times, and it's always been delicious. I've tried several of the savory pies and a few of the different sandwiches and all have been so tasty. I have not eaten anything here that I didn't like. For thanksgiving, I ordered their apple pie and I have to say, this is hands down the BEST apple pie I have ever had. Not only was it beautiful (so was the packaging it came in), but so incredibly delicious! All of our guests were lining up to make sure they got a slice and every person said it was the best pie ever! I have already ordered another pie for my husband's birthday. The pies here are great - my favorites are the apple pie and cottage pie. However, I was really disappointed in their flat white. Being an Australian pie specialist, you'd reckon they'd serve a killer flat white. Unfortunately, what I got was a latte (yes, there's a difference) with burnt coffee beans and overly steamed milk. I usually take the pies to go, but I will say that the service here isn't what you'd expect of a Curtis Stone establishment. My husband and I have been coming to this spot over the years since Curtis first opened Maude and it was near impossible to get a reservation. It was totally by chance we were walking by and spotted Jolie outside and asked what the deal was with the pie room. Within minutes, we were enjoying one of the most memorable meals of our lives. I kid you not, EVERYTHING they serve here is delicious. Not like "yeah that's okay" kinda delicious, I mean like Sally- eyes rolling in the back of your head yelling "yes! yes! yes!" kind of delicious. EVERY single thing is THAT good. It's so good we have probably been a dozen times since they opened a couple weeks ago and I'm ashamed to admit we take a big ass to-go bag of sweets with us every time we visit. We have never had a bad thing here... and we are working our way through trying everything. Last night was no exception to those of our previous experiences. Jolie is a fun person to hang out with, she has amazing taste in wine and we are regularly trying new things with her we never knew we would love so much! Sarkan is behind many of the dishes that don't come from Gwen and every one is worth trying! All the dishes out of this kitchen are so good, you really need to just taste everything. Our favorites are the loup de mare, the crispy skin is like a potato chip, only better! And the duck pasta and the farro salad are so amazing we have the salad every time we come! The fries and ketchup are a must try (the house made ketchup is REALLY good) and the charcuterie & cheese dishes were amazing with the Gwen meats... yum! The bread that comes with the cheese/charcuterie is the best we have ever had. I could just eat that and be a happy camper, everything else is a bonus. The dessert case is next level. The yuzu raspberry tart is beyond and so is the burnt caramel thing. Everything down to the cookies is great. If it sounds like it would be good, get it, it totally is! Try everything, come back again and again. Chef Sarkan changes the menu regularly and it's worth trying out the new things because, let's be honest here. It's all next level. Try the sandwiches, the grinder and the duck one are our favs. This place has come a long way since its Maude days, but Curtis Stone has created a neighborhood gem we are sure is going to be a hit. Pre covid this place was a solid five star. Today, understandably with inflation and economic challenges, the smaller portion size and Beverly Hills prices are totally understood and no knocks for that. The issue is taste, or lack thereof. I was expecting the bold and exciting flavors of the past as I paid $111 for one tart and four pastries. Sad to say not worth the price. See the $65 tart, it's MOSTLY whipped cream with minimal tart flair. Is it good, it's okay. Would I pay those prices again, no. Would I pay these prices for the tastes from the past? Yes. I freaking love The Pie Room! Their food is beyond bomb. A lot of it will depend on your taste - whether you veer towards veggie or meat options... like the mushroom sandwich isn't really my jam, but I can see the appeal! Even though my sister made it clear to me this is an AUSTRALIAN joint and not English... and I was like whatever it's was a colony and she was like yeah but English food has no flavor and isn't creative... at which point I couldn't argue anymore. Anyway, try the cheesecake - it's the best I've ever had. The coffee is great although expect your latte small. Everything IS very 'proper' there. And again I'd say the ambiance definitely has a British 'tea at Claridges' vibe, but the food's hearty so it does an interesting twist on one's expectations. The service is awesome - the servers are all really friendly and on point. Like, they notice when your water glass is empty.
