I figured it would be a day or two since there is no Subaru dealer within a 50 mile radius. I was offered a loaner. I was pretty impressed that the repair was finished by that afternoon. The mechanic, upon inspection of my car, suggested a transmission flush (odometer at 61000 and past due), new tire, and an oil change. I did add the trans flush but passed on the other stuff. No pressure tactics, just honest advice. One tiny critique: a bolt that holds the alternator belt shroud was over-torqued. Its a quirky Subaru thing but without any play in that bolt, the power steering pump will shudder at a stop or low speeds. (Bolts are meant to be tight, right?) I told you its quirky.
