BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE Apparently, this business keeps changing its name. I have seen it listed as Mega Appliances and now as U.S. Appliance Outlet. But the owner, David Bang, is the same. I had been looking for a new refrigerator and I have bought them from the Sears Outlet many times in the past. I have been very satisfied and have saved lots of money by purchasing at an outlet store. I saw an advertisement on Craigslist for a Samsung appliance outlet near the Citadel in the City of Commerce. It sounded interesting and so I decided to stop by on my way to the Sears Outlet. U.S. Appliance Outlet was located adjacent to the Citadel and was full of Samsung scratch, dent, and/or returned appliances. The prices were clearly labeled on products and seemed very fair. After carefully looking through their selection, we picked out a refrigerator that met our needs and budget. Buying the refrigerator was a normal experience and we were even able to negotiate the price. I was shocked that they only take cash or ATM for such large purchases, but I figured maybe that is how they keep their costs down. Now, I guess, it is probably because credit card companies give the consumer some protections that they don't want you to have. Like a chargeback when things go wrong. After plunking down my ATM card, Lana, charged me and wrote up the invoice. I was impressed to learn that they could deliver it same day and for "free." She had me sign that there would be an extra charge for stairs ($25 dollars) and for removing the doors if needed ($25). I signed the form knowing that my one story house didn't have any stairs but that I would have to pay to have the doors removed. I went home and busily prepared to receive the new refrigerator. They were very prompt in arriving with "new" refrigerator and proceeded to unpack it for delivery. That is where it all fell apart and David Bang was the most unprofessional and ridiculous business person I have ever experienced. First, he told me he could not hook it up because he did not have the proper tools with him. That I would have to go to Home Depot and pickup some piece to hook up the icemaker. I couldn't believe that he would come unprepared and then act like it was my fault. Who orders a delivery and then just leaves the refrigerator sitting in the kitchen for the homeowner to hook up? Apparently U.S. Appliance Center does! But, that was not the worst part. Before bringing the appliance in the house, Mr. Bang, tried to explain to me that I would have to pay $25 extra for the stairs. I asked him what stairs wherein he tried to argue with me that the small step up into my house was a stair. I told him that maybe his English was off but this was a STEP and not a STAIR and that nearly every house has a step up from the street to the front door. In fact, my house has a long walkway that brings visitors to my front door with only one small step. He argued with me to the point that he was ready to take the refrigerator back and issue me a refund. I was so close to doing just that but since I had used my ATM card to pay as cash, I didn't know what kind of protections I would have and if this guy would try some other unprofessional move. He then brought this refrigerator through the front door and in doing so used my front door rug to slide it on. In doing so he missed the rug and gouged my hardwood floors near my front door. After leaving the refrigerator in the kitchen, he proceeded to ask me for $50 for the removal of door and for the "stairs" into my home. I pointed out where he had damaged my hardwood floors and he argued and yelled at me to the point I considered calling the police. He eventually left calling it even for my damage when $50 would not cover fixing my floor, but I never wanted to see this guy again. It is such a shame that the purchase was so nice and the delivery was such an incredibly painful experience. I could understand if this was an unaffiliated delivery company, but this was the owner delivering the product. BEWARE buying from this place. I do love my refrigerator, but I am positive had I known, I would have gone to Sears Outlet instead.

Great wine cooler at a great price ! Same cooler 3/x's as much on Amazon and Costco ...

I originally sent a text requesting a repair on my ice maker for my Whirlpool Refrigerator ( I gave…read morethem the Model and Serial number in the text) to Johnnie's appliances and received a response to call and set up an appointment. I did on Monday 8/17/26, I was informed the service charge would be $110.00 and needed to be paid to confirm the appointment (9am to 1pm window on Saturday 8/22/26). Also was told the service tech would call 30 minutes before arriving. At 1pm no call or show. I called them at 1:15 and was told they did not have an appointment for me or my address, asked when I made the appointment, I told her it was made on Monday 8/17/26. The women said well our system has been down since Wednesday, but we can reschedule for next Monday. I told her that was unacceptable that I will on vacation for the next 3 weeks. I told her I already paid for the service call and even gave her the bank info., and she seemed to have found the charge. Was put on hold and she came back telling me a service tech would be out between 6 and 7pm today 8/22/26. I would receive a call from the tech 30 minutes prior to coming. I called at 6:30 and they were closed. GUESS WHAT! AGAIN a NO SHOW and NO CALL. They have my money (for now, I filed a dispute with my credit card), thank GOD I didn't put it on my Debit card. I'd be out the $110.00 for NO SERVICE and RUDE customer service personnel. I understand computers go down, but really a small company like them and they don't even keep paperwork (like service order tickets on paper). I work for a multinational corporation and even we keep service orders on paper and on the computer for just this reason. When their system went down, the first thing they should have done was look online at their banking history and see who had service charges paid, It would give them the names of WHO paid and then they could have done a call back (most names have phone numbers listed for them) to see when their appointments were for. INSTEAD they called NO ONE to see if appointments were scheduled. I know that is a lot of work, but to keep your business running without angering your clients, that's what a dependable company would do. Better yet don't COMPLETELY rely on computers or the internet, keep a service order/appointment list IN PAPER. SMH what is this world coming too, such lazy people and companies. It all falls back on the person needing the services. Before closing for the day, you should have reached out to make sure your service techs were going to be able to get to appointments for the day, ESPECIALLY since you knew there was issues with appointments. Now I'll be worrying about my refrigerator, it is just the ice maker or is it something bigger while I'm on a very needed vacation. Plus, the Downey store is within walking distance to my home (across the street literally). Johnnie's Appliance - SHAME ON YOU

Always tempting us to buy more than what we came for lol. Just a heads-up: this location closes at 9pm, which is earlier than some other Home Depot locations. He arrived when he said he would (actually about 10 minutes earlier than he said he would). He diagnosed the problem in less than 10 minutes. He educated me in what the problem was, what the cause of the problem was, and how he could solve the problem. I don't mean to go on a rant, but please indulge me for one moment. James understands what sadly 99% of business owners don't understand. And that is, if you gain my trust by your professionalism (your appearance, the appearance of your vehicle, your respect for my home and my time, your ability to communicate, your willingness to take the time to educate me, and your ability to show me how I will benefit by the service you provide), me handing over my money is a no brainer. As stated above, James came to me as a referral. Now, guess who I'm going to recommend to anyone in my circle of influence who has a washer / dryer problem? James is building a tree of word of mouth business that will far out perform any paid advertisement. And as a side, James could teach a class on how to run a successful business whose techniques could be applied to any marketplace. Ok, my rant is over....I would highly recommend James to anyone in need of appliance repair. You will not be disappointed.
