Ended up seeing all the amazing reviews for Mountain Based and asked my family if they wanted to go too. Everyone was super excited and the Mighty 5 national parks hotel tour did not disappoint!!! Tyler and Eric were hands down - amazing. Great drivers, funny, attentive, able to split themselves into infinite pieces to cover all the different speeds of my family members hiking. Tyler even knew I desperately wanted a photo at delicate arch but my wobbly fear of heights legs would not take me over to the photo spot so he offered to escort me there and back and be our photographer! The drives between parks were not bad at all - plenty of gas station stops along the way. The restaurants they took us to were delicious and the employees of the restaurants treated us like gold. The weather was a little toasty in June but it was still GREAT fun. Lots of history, information, facts, tips, safety from our guides. When we asked them for specific things like - taking a group photo at each of the National Park signs - the guides didn't grumble - they made the photos fun! And they remembered! Steve Judd was our guide throughout possessing the perfect calming and good natured temperment dealing with people and/or unexpected issues. He didn't seem phased or ruffled by much. He was very diligent in making sure every tour member knew what was happening whether we were grouped together or not. He also accounted for each piece of luggage at our various stops. We felt cared for and appreciated. Everything was handled in a professional manner whether it was with Steve or any of the office personnel (pre-tour). All of them were eager to assist in any way possible . . . they shine in customer service! :) All of our infomation packets (Pre-tour & during) were spot on preparing us for every aspect of our experience. We also appreciated the in person / Zoom pre-trip meeting as well as the rapid response to any questions we had. Now for our tour. We loved the size and pace. While the company can't control the weather, it was beautiful the whole time . . . May really is a great time to see Peru. Our local guides, Charo (Cultural) & Pepe (Incan), were warm, humourous, relatable, and knowledgeable. Reynaldo was our expert driver. All of our guides at Machu Picchu (a dream come true), the Amazon (Orlando & crew), and throughout Peru were top notch. Takes you on an informative ride through downtown with step off points, and a trip to the cemetary. They provide ghost detector devices that do go off and show activity in different areas. They warn you at the beginning that you probably won't see a ghost, but they remind you to check your photos, as sometimes you will see them in your photos. It's possible someone on our tour got something as the guide was telling the guest to submit her photo. Now for the scary part! As we were riding along a narrow road with sharp turns, listening to our guide tell us of a newly wed couple that haunts the area after a horrific crash on this very road! Suddenly the van scraped roadside bushes and swerved slightly, making us all gasp!!! Pretty sure the guide who was facing backward had to change his shorts! The driver apologized saying she was trying to avoid rough areas. It was PERFECT!! And incredibly timed!!

If you don't live here, and don't know of the "Ghost" stories, this would be a fun night time city…read moretour. But....if you live here, you know it's not that haunted. Grimm Ghost Stories does a good job of taking you around the city. It's a short tour of getting in and out of their van. You will then walk to the "Grimm" site, and the host will then tell you about the tragedy that took place at that very spot. Easy to communicate and coordinate times for breaks, departures and arrivals at destinations! He was an excellent driver and we felt very safe when we had to use a less major road to get from Yellowstone to the Tetons when the mountain pass was snowed in. And his driving ability was on display when he drove us to the top of Utah Olympic Park to view the slopes and bobsled runs, and then turn on a dime to get us back down--now that is some skillful driving!! If we have another tour in this area, would definitely use Le Bus and request Lynn!

Salt Lake Central truly is one of the worst central stations in the United States. No shelter, no…read morebathrooms, and not amenities. It is just a concrete jungle with trains. This 'central station' is also still a good half a mile walk from anything downtown SLC. UTA should consider replacing this with the citizen proposed Rio Grande Plan which moves the station back to the historic 115-year-old Rio Grande Depot that isnt but a 1/4 mile from Salt Lake Central.
