This seemingly insignificant structure holds the lifeline of tens of millions of threads and information our very lives and businesses depend on. Fortunately, we are in extraordinary hands. It's easy to know those good men and women here take pride in their second home because the inside always looks organized and tidy. It takes a lot of diligence to achieve that level of appearance in a historical building. After coming here for both business and personal mailing needs for some time, trust me when I say there were some difficult situations I've found myself facing. No matter over the phone, or in person, they somehow always outdid their last best, supported my needs, and made me feel taken care of even better than before! Being such a busy place, all I could say is, they're some amazing people. Time is tough right now, and it's about to get tougher as the voting season approaches. My local post office gets the done job with ease and with a big smile. Parking isn't an issue at all. The staff overall are friendly and are very efficient in getting moving the line along. They work together as a team and strive in getting everyone in and out the door ASAP. I never had an issue with this location. The team is willing to answer all my questions. I like how this location also process passport services. Make sure you schedule an appointment before you go. They do not provide the service all day. read more

Pretty standard place, much bigger than the other Alhambra location. The staff is not grumpy. I've used the passport services here before, and it went smoothly. But you must research and read the rules ahead of time. I like the car lane on the left hand side of the parking lot that allows you to drop off letters in those big, blue mail bins. read more

Good: Staff are courteous. Bad: I'm a business owner whom has had dozens of bills lost (never delivered to my office), which resulted in my paying a lot of late fees. Furthermore, dozens of outgoing payments also lost, thus resulting in my paying late fees. Now, I drop them in the mailbox. On other occassions when I had an issue, and to avoid spending my entire lunch hour waiting in line, I tried calling. Don't bother trying, because they don't answer the phone. read more

Jeez, Im not even suprised how low rated this place is and I doubt anyone will read this but... They put the 24/7 kiosks locked inside after hours. They used to be in the lobby where you can access it after hours but some genius decided to move it inside where no one can access the 24/7 kiosks...what even??? So if you're coming in late after work, you are out of luck and wont be able to use the kiosks. This place was better when it was government run eek...get your act together USPS! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! I came to apply for a passport for the very first time and I waited for many minutes in the SLOW line. Until finally it was my turn in line to get to the window to show our documents until this Asian lady asked us to fill some paperwork that we missed, only to later complete it and get turned down by the lady from getting it because we needed some more things to fill out that she didn't mention before. So we then ask her why didn't she mention this before. Then all of a sudden thing got heated and she started to give us attitude and raised her voice saying we needed more things from our documents. I visited this location on a Tuesday at 1:30pm. I was greeted by a kind helpful woman. She didn't have a name tag so her name will forever be a mystery. She checked my paperwork and told me to have a seat. The guy that processes passports would be out soon and that there were 4 people ahead of me. I only saw two. I was also told that I may not be seen. The guy (Dennis) eventually came out and got to processing. There were only two people ahead of me and that didn't take too long. Just when I thought it was my turn, he calls this girl's name who had gotten there AFTER me. Apparently the helpful lady from the beginning failed to tell me there was a sign up sheet. -____- Dennis said he would help her first since her name was on the list. But that he would help me after her even though he was already "closed". That comment was super unnecessary, like he was doing me a favor. It was only 2pm. He decided to make me wait a bit longer by helping people with packages. This guy really tested my pacience. Luckily I had just taken a nap so I didn't get cranky. Woooosa!!! All in all, the process took an hour. As I left, he said he was willing to help 2 others that had arrived to process their passports. I just want to update that I already received my passport! I'm here almost every day to send stuff- staff is great except for one of the postmasters who helps with the self service machines. Why does he always touch everything for me every time I'm there for SELF SERVICE???? So annoying like I know how to use the machine stop asking if I know how to do it I'm there literally every day. UNBELIEVABLE. Terrible does not begin to explain how bad their customer service here is. Keep in mind, I've been to several different locations in the past but never in my entire customer service ever witness such poor quality staff. As I approach one of the customer service representative her name is "Julie". I advise her I'm shipping a book through media mail and would like a delivery confirmation number. She handed me a slip and ask me to write who's package for. I ask her a simple question (with not a slight hint of attitude) what is the purpose of this? She explain it's policy, just in case your package was not deliver we can look up the name. Then she begins to argue with me. me: I've been to several locations, and they have never ask me to fill out this. Why is different here? Julie: Everyone asks that, I don't know why. Just in case the package is not deliver, you can come back and they can track it with the name. me: what's the point of that, if there is a tracking number on it? Julie: The tracking number can't find your package, it goes by the name. me: Then what's the whole point of the tracking number then? To cover your asses, if it's not deliver? Never mind. Just please, stop arguing with me. you don't have to give me attitude about it. I just want to shipped this package and go. Julie: if you don't like our service, you can go somewhere else. She argues with me for another 5 minutes, clearly she does not understand... That I want to leave. Please just charge me for the package and send it off. Clearly, they need to retrain their staff on customer service, cause this Asian lady does not know jack squat about it. Telling me if "I DON'T LIKE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE?" who the hell says that to a customer? my transaction was "simple", it takes less than 5 minutes to process it. But no, you decide to give me your fricking attitude about it, when I ask a simple question. First off, I work with customers all the time. I deal with irate customers on a daily basis, do not go off on me because you can't handle a simple question. Clearly, your job ain't cut out for you. Her supervisor Sou was no help either. She didn't even bother asking "what's the natural of the problem". Until I ask for the number to call, to report a complaint. Then she ask, "is there anything I can do for you, about this situation." This post office is great. Although their lines are always long and the workers have been standing and dealing with people all day, I've never experienced any negative attitude when it's finally my turn. Many times, when I'm not sure what the best way to mail my package would be, they would give me their personal suggestion (ex: certified, regular, etc.) Once I had ordered something from Amazon and it was to be shipped via USPS. But while tracking it online, I realized the estimated delivery date had way past, and my package was stuck in some USPS in another city for days. I contacted the Alhambra PO hoping that they'd have the inside scoop between post office locations. The guy said he'll check on the item for me and get back to me as soon as possible. The next day, my item started moving again! AMAZING! Then, after it finally arrived at my home, Alhambra PO had 3 follow-up conversations with me (2 via phone and 1 via e-mail). The staff here is nice, but they are way understaffed. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes if you gotta line up and do business with the teller. I feel bad for the folks that work here, they are trying their best but there's just not enough bodies to handle the volume of people that need to get their biz handled here. This location is probably the busiest one in the area. It probably doesn't help that this one is also a passport processing center/agency. (hint hint, print out the application/renewal form at home and fill it out first.) Park at the library or the lot on 1st street and main. This is my go to post office within my area. There are about 3 a tad closer to me, but this one has been stellar in my experiences. When I'm in line, someone asks me what I'm there for to triage. If applicable, they direct me to the self serve stations. I remember not knowing how and they helped me through it. Even though the tone isn't sweet like honey, it does the job. I can see that their staff tries to decrease wait time even though they are understaffed in the front. They also have a spot for people to drop off pre-labeled packages in a bin. I hopped online and most locations stated that you need an appointment to get a passport. However, this location DID NOT. This location also offered photo service so even better. We had our paperwork filled out and stood in line. Once we got to the window the older lady there revelled in telling us LOUDLY that we needed an appointment. One of the better location compared to the other post offices I've been to. I come here most of the time sending packages to their destinations. The line might get long but with their organized teamwork, the line gets shorter every minute. There was this lady who cracked me up. I dunno if she's still there but she had this loud shrill voice saying "Next please". They were showcased in the middle of the post office in a glass display. The cat with the blue eyes looks like my cat. I like to support animals who are in shelters. I own a dog and cat from the shelter. Plus when I bought one, some of the money helps support sheltered animals. The man from the register was very helpful with my purchase. Most of them helped me well in the past. They have most of the different sized wrappings, envelopes, and empty boxes hanging on the wall. This post office only has a maximum of around 10 parking spaces. People come and go from the lot pretty quick so just be patient. US Post Office - "Adopt a Shelter Pet" stamps - Post Offices Near Me - Alhambra, California

This is a perfectly nice post office. The big bonus is that it is walkable from my house. Standard lobby out front with vending machines (stamps, not soda or candy) and full service counter opens at 8:30am on weekdays. The real sweet spot, tho, is 8:45 or 9am. At 8:30am there is guaranteed a line with everyone who has to do their thing and get to work. However, those guys are gone and at 8:45am, I rarely encounter a wait. They (strategically? cleverly?) have a multi-lingual staff for those who might feel more comfortable explaining what they need in something other than English. I'm not debating the merits of that. Let's face facts - it makes the line move faster and in the end, that's all you probably really care about. Good post office! read more

I had been in a wild goose hunt for my work permit since they spelled my address wrong I had my mail return to sender and as the last hope I came to Alhambra to see if my any chance they could intercept it . Biiiiiitch. Let me TELL YOU. This place is a hot ass mess. The government should be a-dam-shamed of themselves for operating such a flawed post office in this city. State. Country even. I was originally gonna pass on reviewing since all the others pretty much hit the nail on the head. But, why not! Like many others I came in on Saturday because they advertise walk ins for passport services. Four other people in line with me were all being told to leave and that they were NOT seeing ANYONE. Regardless of people showing up for appointments or not. How does that even make sense? So we all stood to resist. They weren't even apologetic about it. Just rude. In my case, I was the last of the bunch to be seen as they finally gave in and were helping us file for our passports. Once they got to me, I was told I was not going to be seen and that everyone before me "had appointments". I couldn't believe Luis the manager was lying directly to my face. I proceeded to tell him I knew he was lying, because the others and I already discussed that we were there for walk in. I asked him why I would be the exception, and they FINALLY took me. I lived in Alhambra for a year and I had to use this post office which was a the worst experience I ever had at any post office. First, let me just say, I think Alhambra as a city is also the worst city I have lived in 30 years I have been in LA. It's the ghetto of all the areas around it but it tries very hard to create an image that is not, maybe just because its next to South Pasadena. First my mail got lost several times to my apartment, then the same thing happened when I rented a mail box there. There is also one of the managers called "James" ; who is the most rudest piece of garbage I have ever spoken on the phone, to the point of raising his voice and using profanity. The whole place is run by Buffoons except for one old Mexican man who was the nicest person at this post office. I had more problems with this post office than any post office in the entire history of living in LA, the same goes with just living in Alhambra where my car got vandalized, the power outage was over 12 times in less than a year, there was constant Police issues with neighboring buildings, its really a sketchy city. I would avoid this post office at all cost and just drive to Del Mar to the San Gabriel post office where there is some structure. read more

By far the worst post office EVER!!! Lost our mail multiple times. Even Mail with tracking numbers!! They offered to write a letter on our behalf for their mess up since one of the tracked items was an important government document. Told us to come back the following day to receive the letter. We did. Waited for 45 minutes when they told us to step aside then asked us to come back in two days.. not acceptable. Then these sons on bitches gave us our letter and they lied!!!!
