I explained that she was deceased. With the kids right there, she said, "You have the death certificate?" I didn't and asked why I would need it. She replied, "She is on the birth certificate right? Of course she is, she gave birth to them." I was kind of taken aback that she would talk about the kids recently dead mom in front of them in such a callous way. But, I explained that I live close by and could go back and get the certificate. I asked if I did and if no one was here, would I still be able to submit the paperwork. Again, I had pulled both kids from school to do this today. She said 'No, make a new appointment.' I asked, "even if no one is here, you won't help us today?" She said "No, make a new appointment." I won't be back to the Irvington Post Office. And to the woman who was behind the counter today, I hope when you are confronted with a similar situation in your life, the person talks to you (and potentially your children) with more empathy.

I can't imagine that's acceptable on any level to leave your USPS issued uniform bag on a park bench and walk away, I must be out of my mind for thinking this is normal right? Since it wasn't my responsibility to watch her bag, I left it on the bench and continued my walk up the hill. I should've taken a picture of her but I didn't, but I can describe her. She seemed to be a part time temporary employee as she didn't have an official uniform on, but she was definitely delivering the mail.

I didn't hear anything else about it but everytime I've gone to check my PO Box the place is closed. Is this post office still functioning or not? I need to keep this PO open even though I no longer live in the area because its registered to a corporation. I only check it when I know I'm receiving correspondence from seasonal activity. My only complaint is that I've asked not to put grocery flyers or other people's mail in my box numerous times but I still get junk mail or mail that clearly doesn't belong to me.

I assumed (wrongly, clearly) they would be able to photocopy my ID there for my application. So when I didn't have what I needed and asked to be given 5 minutes to run to the library to make a photo copy, or to switch appointment times with the next person who was ALREADY THERE. I was told with a terrible attitude and eyes rolling by the teller that I would need to reschedule my appointment completely... No help offered, no flexibility, nothing. Not even a kind gesture to help me reschedule. Just plain old rude and unhelpful. Go somewhere else.

But this time, all I did was print a return label my daughter had emailed me to mail some sneakers to her and decided to come to this Ardsley location since it was closer to my previous job. Most of the reviews here point jabs at the owner- and I definitely saw it too. Even for my quick 2 minute stop, I did a double-take and personally remember his cut and dry demeanor about him. Transaction was quick though, but some acknowledgement from him is all people ask. I on the other hand, thanked him as any normal person should. And yes...I did hold on tight to my receipt- because you never know. And yes...my daughter's package arrived at her home fine.
