4 packages marked "Delivered" -- none received. Over 2 months, this branch has falsely marked four packages as delivered that never arrived. This is a repeated pattern, not an accident. USPS delivery scans are legal records--marking items delivered when they are not is a serious issue. Management needs to investigate immediately. Customers deserve accountability and honest tracking. read more

This is the best little hidden post office ever! I almost don't want to review it because I want to keep it a secret. It was almost lunch time and I walked in, dropped off my package immediately, experienced fantastic service, and was out of there in under 3 minutes! Best post office period. read more

Don't Trust it. I needed to mail RX medication to Uncle. Went in purchased a USPS box, and put in RX in front of Clerk, Handed it to him, & Paid. Never arrived! USPS tracking showed it NEVER LEFT THE MCNEIL POST OFFICE! How does a package get lost within the same postoffice you mailed it from. Shady! read more

My dad says back in his day, joints that doubled as convenience stores and post offices were common. It was so cool rolling up to this little piece of living history, right by the railroad crossing to boot! Felt like we'd gone back in time to the 1900s. It's off the main road a bit, through the entrance to the Austin Lime Company, so don't get weirded out or second-guess your GPS. It's tucked away by the railroads. Anyway, I had to mail a parcel, so I went in and rang the little bell on the counter for service. The employee was friendly and service was exactly the same as any other post office anywhere else; used my credit card for the transaction. One note, this location is only open half days: 8AM to noon. So if you need stamps or something in the afternoon, you'll have to seek out an alternate location. But good luck getting snacks and beer while mailing a letter anywhere else, lol! read more

Didn't realize people review post offices on Yelp but this post office is definitely my favorite. I have two closer post offices but drive all the way up north to go to this one because the self service machine works, the lines move fast, but most importantly, the people who work there genuinely seem to enjoy their work and are actually helpful. I honestly hate going to the post office in person because the interaction with the workers is just quite depressing and some of them are actually mean. But the people here always nice and patient so it's never a bad experience. read more

At first I didn't know if this was really a post office. The building is in the middle of nowhere and it's a teeny old thing by the railroad tracks. But I took a chance and went in. It is indeed a post office. It felt like I suddenly went back in time to an old western film. Anyway, the associate there was pleasant and I was actually surprised they had the service I needed. I was there for money orders in a very large sum. She said it was the biggest she had ever been asked to do, so had to make a call to check and make sure she wasn't missing any steps, but we eventually got there. I liked the post office because of the fact it wasn't busy and the customer service was good. Plus, it was a novelty feeling like I had gone back in time a bit! read more

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. This place is not terrifying at all! It's so cool to see that the USPS has preserved some of the old timey post offices. This totally reminds me of the original post office in my hometown in the Midwest before they decided it was too close to the RR tracks and tore it down. This is a quaint little post office with a general store attached. The hours are terrible, but that's the only negative. This place has the best service of any post office hands down. It is a little hard to find, but worth the effort. There are signs guiding you to it on McNeil. There is rarely a wait and always service with a smile. read more

I got a note saying sorry we damaged your package what it really meant to say is we have some sorry as employees and they stole your shit. This is the cutest post office ever. It really is in business, even though it looks like an abandoned building. I've been here twice and the woman who works there is very kind. The post office is located directly inside the small convenience shop. It's just one small room with one cash register. I've been to three other post offices in the area and this is the only one I'll be going to from now on. read more

As I write this, the year is 2017 and yes, there REALLY IS an actual operational post office here. I thought the rumors were false until I went and saw it for myself. I grew up in rural South Dakota and have seen my share of rustic, small-town post offices, but to find someplace like the McNeil Post Office within the city limits of one of the nation's largest cities was quite surprising. It's the nearest post office to my house, so it's convenient in that regard. The attendant is nicer than the average postman, and there has never been a line. The downside is it took me 5 years to realize it actually existed, and their hours are very limited. read more
