    This place is dirty

Customer service today was okay at best. I don't know why the clerk asked me for my ID before she proceeded to serve me. No one else needed to show their ID to proof their identity. Anyways, I witnessed a lady get terribly upset when she was asked to step aside. She was very disgruntled and caused a scene. Anyways, this post office is so dirty! The floors are littered with loose leaves and debris. When you first walk inside, there's this trash can near the door that looks like it hasn't been taken out on years. Employees don't seem to be thrilled to be working. Not a smile was cracked. Also, they didn't bother to put the heater on. It's was cold inside. Parking is plenty, but they should cut the grass so the federal building is appealing on the outside. The grass was tall and growing like it was an abandoned lot. Of course whatever I came inside for, I couldn't be helped unfortunately.

Tracking for a single item package.

They don't answer phones They lose your packages frequently They have to have usps global support contact them before they take any action It is difficult to get in to take care of things during work hours Recently had a package in transit for a month that was shipped from nearby according to the tracker they then found it after I filed a claim and it had clearly been ripped open and content either lost or stolen. I had decided to stop using usps as often as I can get away with while living in this area. The United States postal service is overworked and undervalued but when consistent issues leads to outrage I hope for the workers and the people living in this area that things improve. I've attached images of the tracking for the package that arrived with a "we are sorry" sticker as I no longer live at this location.

This seems like an average post office. From the road, it is rather difficult to find due to overgrown brush. In fact, the entire post office property is filled with heavy brush growth. Inside, there are many post office boxes. I saw people in line at the service window, and they seemed happy with the service they were receiving, and the people in line showed no irritation. I think there may be staffing issues because the priority mailing supplies were empty. That doesn't seem like something intentionally overlooked. That said, outside on a fence, there's advertising that they are hiring. This location also has a very large parking lot.

I love our neighborhood post office,! I've been coming here so long that I feel like the postal clerks are family and will ask about one of them when I haven't seen him/her for a while. PS they're hiring!!

The man at the counter was so rude and impatient. Was more worried about getting through the line quick than actually helping

With that very low expectation set, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the level of smart efficiency I experienced at 10 minutes before closing at this Metric & Braker Lane location on a Saturday afternoon. If you have used this location before, you may know that the window for picking up packages is a closed door placed outside of the "main" customer service counter / store part of the place. A common mistake folks make all the time is coming in to pick up a package, waiting in the long line at the main counter, and only once reaching the front, learning that they were supposed to go stand at that closed door and wait for someone to appear out of nowhere to acknowledge them. Been there, done that myself. On this day, I showed up to retrieve my "requires signature" item and found a line of about 15 customers ahead of me with just a few minutes until closing. I had my doubts about how this situation would end, but the postal worker handled it with professionalism and efficiency, calling us up to give our addresses & show ID, taking down our info, and then going away with a complete list to get all of the packages in bulk. This calmed everyone and assured us that we'd be able to get our stuff before the place closed for the day. One by one, each name was called, even those who had arrived after me, and soon only one person was left without a package - me. Turns out, my mail carrier had picked up my item and had it out with her for another delivery attempt, even though the order was specifically set to be held at the post office. Argh! Foiled again!

10 people waited in line. My turn, and I'd forgotten to tape my package. ‍ They have no tape, no…read morestaples to spare, friends. Don't ask for a manager. They will take out their budgetary frustrations on you. Do better, USPS.

They'll tell you it is not their fault (blame the main Hub, blame weather, blame whatever) but I track every package. I watch mail destined for the east coast get sent to Denver first. Mail I send to the west coast ends up in Jersey City. There are NO refunds for Priority Mail, they just accept your money, don't provide the service, and it's tough luck for you. The only person to blame is yourself for giving them your money. Separately, I've received crushed packages, no packages, and a family 3 blocks away share my same house number so we exchange wrong packages frequently; I'm lucky those people dependable, unlike the USPS. I have tried to support my local post office for many years now. Remember how we were encouraged to buy stamps and anything else to keep the USPS afloat? I'm old school; I did it all. Now I'm done. I should have learned my lesson long ago. I'm incredibly frustrated and disappointed. It's such a shame too because the clerks who have customer contact are some of the nicest and friendliest people I've met, and I've seen their faces for many years. They must take all the heat for late and missing mail. I will miss their smiles and the post office I remember, but I won't miss the grief I've experienced over and over again. If you need mail handled correctly the first time, find another provider.
