I really don't understand why this post office has such a low rating. Every time I go there I the employees I encounter are polite and very helpful. Sure, some times you wait in line, but come on people, slow your roll, they are doing the best they can with the staff available. This post office is also named for my friend's brother, who was a Marine killed in Iraq. Being Memorial Day weekend, I brought a vase of flowers to place by his picture to honor him. I also had a package to mail. I heard customers complaining the entire time in line. It was hard but I kept my mouth shut. My goodness. What a fiasco dealing with held mail and informed delivery stating parcels delivers in parcel locker but not there. No one answers the phone and placing a missing mail claim you can forget it. Two parcels today are missing which one is my passport!!!! The same postal delivery numbskull tried delivering a signature required to my home when the mail was on hold due to being out of state. Then it was to be redelivered tomorrow but he shows up today and I was not available. Dear heavens. Now I have to drive miles to the post office to question employees who are under paid and short staffed. Terrible. If you are shipping something and also picking up a package you cannot do both at the main counter. You have to wait separately in both lines. Packages that you missed delivery on and are being held here can only be picked up at the ".quick service door". What a joke. I've picked up packages at the main counter in USPS post offices just like this one dozens of times. Today there was no line to ship but I had to wait 45 minutes to pick up a simple box. I asked at the main counter when I shipped my box if they could get my package. They said no and that I'd have to wait it the other line even though they had nothing to do and could see the line of 15 people waiting to pick up. It's user-friendly, and as long as you print your labels and package your item at home, the process is smooth. The counter staff is always very friendly and as efficient as possible. After an 11-day vacation hold, I went to pick up our mail. The counter clerk retrieved my mail and provided me a small stack of a dozen pieces... seemed a little light, even without the loose-leaf ads, but ok... I visited our mailbox today to double check and found it STUFFED with mail, including the USPS vacation hold notice jammed in the middle of everything. What good is a vacation hold if the mail isn't held back??? I have friends and family who are or were with the Postal service. I use to use the blackson post office for dropping off packages until one was lost and I had the most awful time reaching someone...and I called several times only to be hung up on. Went to get our baby's passport before our upcoming trip. There weren't that many people when we arrived, just another couple wanting to get passports as well. We elected to do walk-in since the slots for appointments were all booked up online. The lady told us and the other party that was waiting, she only takes 4 walk-ins for new passports per day. When going into the post office, the room for obtaining and applying for a new passport is in the back right side of the building. When you arrive, there are blank application forms on the table before the doorway if you did not bring one. There's one bench for people to sit on as you're waiting for the passport application lady to call you in. The wait for a Wednesday 1250pm walk-in surprisingly was not very long. We got called in, paid the fee for new passport ($95), submitted our paperwork. The lady took a copy of husby's and my driver's license, copy of the short version of baby's birth certificate and we signed under an oath that all ill info on the form is correct, signed the application form and that was that! Some things you may want to have handy when you go in to make process as seamless as possible (like how ours went!): - Printed out form of the passport application from getting it online (https://www.uspassporthelpguide.com/ds-11-application-form-for-new-passport/) - (If you're getting a new passport for your kid[s]) A Copy of the short version of their birth certificate - Copies of both parents' IDs (we just used our driver's licenses and the lady copied both sides) - If applying for passport for kid... YOUR KID - at least 2 checks (+ pens) - Kid[s]' picture And that's about it. They were super nice and helpful. And fast! read more

Getting an issue resolved feels often impossible. my neighborhood box has 3 numbered parcel boxes. someone has spray painted numbers on them that are of course different than the actual parcel box. I've asked multiple times to correct this by either painting over the spray paint or to make the spray paint match the actual box number, or at least notify us which number we're to go by. The mail carrier uses both so I've had to go to the post office 3 times to complain. My note today said they were numbered correctly and I needed to pull harder. DUH! read more

Avoid this post office. You will have the longest wait, the worst service and complete disregard for your packages you are shipping or the time you invest waiting in line. This place needs new management, but unions probably won't ever let that happen, so we are stuck with this. I got in line at 4pm. The line was moving incredibly slow even though there were only 5 people in front of me. The main reason the line was moving slow is because two things and its the same 2 things that has made this post office slow AF for the last 10 years of me coming here. People roll in here with the jankiest kleenex box taped together BS and then the postal attendant spends half an hour packing their packages for them. There were two people in front of me with this BS. If someone has to construct their package at the counter when there are 25 people in line, they need to be told to step aside, get their act together and let the line keep moving and deal with them when they are done. So after waiting in line for 30 min, it's now about 4:30 and people are stacking up behind me out the door because they've let people essentially start craft projects of making shipping boxes at the counter. One of the three attendants starts to clock out and one of the other one's is like "Hey what are you doing? Don't leave me here like this." So the dude stays and continues to help people. The other guy (Joel) walks out from behind the counter and starts asking people in line what they need help with. There is now one lady in front of me, he asks her what she wants and she goes to the next available attendant. He then asks me, and because it is so important for me to have actual tracking and evidence of shipment, I have waited in line for 30 min just to have my packages scanned in. He tells me they WON'T scan my packages and that I have to go to the kiosk in the corner to scan my packages. This bs after 30 min of waiting in line. It literally takes two seconds for someone to scan my packages and put them behind the counter, versus the ding dongs they are helping construct the shipments that can't do anything for themselves. But yea, its people like me that need something scanned that need to be not serviced and kicked out of line. So instead of saying F* that and staying in line and going up to the counter to get my packages scanned anyway, because I literally already paid for these and scanning is part of the service, and I have already been waiting in line for 30 min, I decide I will step out of line and go to this kiosk BS. I get over there and there are 5 people in line. The first lady at the kiosk is cussing because the damn machine isn't even printing labels, she finally gives up and leaves. Then I ask people in line if they have ever scanned in packages because the postal workers wouldn't scan my packages after waiting in line for 30 min. They tell me that the scanner doesn't work, but apparently I can enter the tracking number manually. It finally gets to be my turn. I "scan" one package by entering in the tracking number manually and get to the next package which is an international package and it will not let me confirm the tracking at all. It says that I have to have it scanned by a postal attendant. Imagine that, get back in f*ing line which is like 25 people deep now. So I put my package in the dropbox and left after 45 min of being at this miserable place. This branch is a feedback loop on incompetence, misinformation, and poor service. If they don't scan packages for people, they should state so on their website or in the building literally anywhere as to not waste people's time. If my package that wouldn't scan at the kiosk isn't scanned in by this evening, I am reporting this location to the postmaster general's office. read more

On any day at any time there are between 15-30+ people in line. This wouldn't be a huge deal, except that the self check out kiosk is also constantly broken and the drop box on the wall is also broken and can not be used. These disrepairs are left like this for months at a time. 0% of packages can be shipped through this facility without dealing with the people that work at the counter or after hours. Constant disrepair and neglect at this location. The population in this area has tripled and they are processing exponentially more mail with a larger budget but they still operate on small town time and a small town budget somehow. Dear lord what a FUBAR run place. Mailboxes were broken in- so mail carrier put a hold on all mail- that was 3 months ago and mailboxes are still not repaired. (No HOA here so the the post office is responsible for repairs). Typically the wait to pick up the mail is 45 minutes to an hour since the line is so long and they are slow at servicing. To by-pass the line - I rented a PO Box - and after three change of address forms and a month and a half, I still can not get them to take my mail from the back and put it in the box 10 feet away. No they are losing packages... no clue where they are. When you try to call, it just send you to an operator... which results in a busy signal. If they are going to force half of Pflugerville to pick up their mail due at the post office due to there inability to fix our mailboxes after thieves break into them... then the should at least provide some stools to sit on while we stand in line for an hour. Seriously- Government inadequacies suck. Hundreds of billions in Taxpayer money sent to foreign countries for bullets and hand-grenades... but can't replace a 10 dollar lock on a freaking community mailbox. Unbelievable. read more
