The Factoria post office is located across from the Marketplace at Factoria (aka Factoria Mall). It is in the same strip mall as Jing Jing Asian Market, except it is in the building across from it. There is a decent amount of parking here. But I could see this location being a pain when the lot is filled up. The post office layout is a bit interesting. As you enter the building entrance, the PO boxes are to your left and there is a self-service kiosk right in front. But you enter another room for the actual post office. It seems like the lobby leads up to offices in the same building on the second floor. I needed to mail something and the service was quicker than I am used to at the Crossroads location. Probably because I went at an off-time. Nevertheless, I would definitely consider using this location again if I need to mail something and am in Factoria. read more

I recently started renting a PO box at this location, mainly for tenants to send us rent checks, because we have persistent issues with mail theft in our Newport Hills neighborhood. First, no compaints about the box in general. It works fine, and when my son used it for a package, they put it in a larger box and put the key in our smaller box, all as expected and it worked fine. The place is well lit when I go late at night to pick up mail. Plenty of parking even when busy. So why the two stars? Two of our tenants, both older men, have had their rent checks returned as undeliverable. I looked at both letters and they were both addressed correctly. Both of these guys have rather poor handwriting, but I've had mail successfully delivered elsewhere with much worse. On the second one, the tenant had written the address fairly clearly, I'd say. I took it in to that post office and asked the clerk if she could help me understand why it had been returned as undeliverable. She said the zip code was wrong, that instead of 98007 it should be 98015. That was a surprise since 98007 was what they told me when I originally took out the box. I went home and tried to confirm, but zip code 98015 did not seem to exist at all, and that post office building seemed to have a zip of 98006. So I called the branch and explained the situation. He said, without my telling him what zip I'd been using, that the correct zip for my box was 98007--which is the zip I'd been using. I told him what I'd been told at the front desk, and he explained that person was a temp and didn't know. For someone who didn't know, she had seemed pretty sure of that (mis)information! Why is it that people who don't know what the F they're talking about are so often SO sure of themselves? And why does this post office punish us by hiring them to work the front desk? So I still don't know why these letters have been returned. Further, the point of the zip+4 system is to provide redundancy in case of unreadable addresses. In the case of a house it narrows it down typically to a single street on a single block. In the case of an apartment building, typically a single building. And in the case of a PO Box, it narrows it down to boxes at the same location that end in the same four digits. In all cases, the idea is that if all that is legible is the recipient's name and the zip+4, it should still be possible to deliver it. Not only does that zip+4 redundancy not seem to apply at this post office location, but they seem to require much better handwriting than most. I'm going to have to supply my tenants with sheets of Avery address labels printed out for them. That isn't a large expense, but it's disappointing that apparently lazy address readers at this post office location make it necessary. BTW this is not my first rodeo. This is my third PO box in as many post offices, going back to 1990. I never had a problem like this at the others. read more

If you're anything like me, you're used to sullen faces and being treated with disdain at USPS locations. The first indicator that things would be different were the smiles and the greetings for each customer. There was a long line and so there was also an apology for the wait was given to each customer. I felt like they meant it too! Since then I've been back and the treatment was the same, always friendly, greeted with a smile and very helpful. This is the second time I've had the same clerk make me feel uncomfortable. His words are rude and condescending. And he's very dismissive to how he talks to others. And it wasn't just towards me- while I stood in line he talked very impatiently to an elderly woman wanting to know if she needed to put on more stamps on an envelope , a 20 something guy asking about box size ( the clerk actually said to the man "that's what I said listen with your ears!) a twenty something couple had a few too many questions for him and he joked " stop! You are throwing me off my rhythm " and then me, who needed info about sending a package. Very impatient and condescending. " Don't you know what you are sending?" And "it's obvious how QR codes work". And " Fine I'll speak more slowly for you."Rude, just rude. I dread having to go there. It's a post office. I should be able to feel safe and comfortable in a post office! I usually only use UPS but the manufacturer I was dealing with only used USPS. When I realized I had to go to the post office my heart sunk. Then I hoped he wouldn't be there. And like always, he was and as always it was very unpleasant. I will have to find another post office because it's too stressful to go to this one. read more

Let me tell ya, I've had some issues with post offices before, as the staff have definitely been grumpy and the lines have been out the door. But fortunately, this is not the case at the Factoria US Post Office. I've always had a pleasant experience here. If you have a post office box here, mail is ready for pick up at 10am, which is early and convenient. And even if the post office closes, you can still access your mail box after hours. I've had to get help from the staff a few times here and they have all been super friendly and nice. Located in a small business strip right by Jing Jing Asian Market, it's easy to find and is in the middle of where all the business is. Just be aware that at times, parking can be an issue as the parking lot right outside of the post office is often used by those going to Jing Jing, which gets busy. read more

I usually dread coming to the post office because lines are long, it takes forever and the workers aren't very nice but this USPS is not that at all. I've been here a few times and maybe I'm just lucky, but there has never been a line. Each worker I've spoken to has been friendly and obviously having a wonderful day. There's one woman in particular who is amazing! I spoke to her my first visit here and I wasn't expecting her to be so helpful with trying to ship a box. (My prior experience at the Renton USPS left me hating the post office since I had my box all ready, and I bought a label, and it just needed to be taped on and the woman at the Renton USPS made me buy a roll of tape from her $4.) Not here, she helped me find the right box, pack and tape it all up and sold me the postage. She was awesome! This is my favorite and only USPS I'll be going to. read more

Hands down BEST post office I have been to. This is not the closest one to my house but I'm in the area at least once a week. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted like some kind of celebrity! They never miss a greeting even if they're in the middle of doing something. Also, they scan packages in super fast. I am speaking from years of randomly coming here. Today, I asked my boyfriend to drop off my packages. Soon after, I got notifications on my phone that the packages were already scanned in so I asked him if he was at Factoria and he said yes. I quickly explained it's because I noticed packages were already scanned in. Didn't want him to think I was a crazy stalker. I want to move to Factoria just so this can be my every day post office! read more

This post office is odd to me. While I like the drive through ease of dropping mail, going in is always an experience I'd prefer to avoid. Tips on enjoying a visit to the Factoria Post office: - just assume you'll be spending a bit of time here. Service is usually a little slow and there's a line. The self-service kiosk goes about just as fast, but typing on those machines seems unbearably slow and repetitive. If, for some reason, you make it out of here in 10 minutes, consider your day a little extra blessed. Now that I can print postage for flat rate packages on USPS.com and have a stash of postage for letters and postcards, I only need to come here to grab their flat rate packages and buy postage for non-flat rate packages (usually the cheapest method for small packages under 1 lb). Not to say it's all bad, but I feel like people are just so so grumpy here. And service is so slow. +1 star for the occassional quick and efficient USPS people. read more

*Long Review* I'm writing this review based on my most recent visit to this post office. I brought a package to this post office to ship to NY and I didn't put the shipping address or my own address onto the package because I don't remember if I had to write it down on the package or they will do it for me. This elderly Asian male clerk named FRANK said, "You didn't put the shipping address, how would we know where to send it to?" So I told him the shipping address and even showed him the address. Then he asked if it's safe to leave the package outside, I told him it should be safe to deliver to this address because it's a PO Box address. Then he was mocking me saying "Are you sure this is a PO Box address? Because PO Box address contains words like 'PO Box'". Like WTF. I've sent packages to this shipping address many times at this location and no other clerks ever question me like this. He works for USPS and doesn't even know that there are some PO Box with "Street address" (address of a Post Office) plus a "Unit number" which is a PO Box number. The transaction to ship out a package shouldn't take too long, but he made it super long by asking too many unnecessary questions and saying rude comments. There were a lot of people waiting on the line to ship their packages too. I've also noticed those other times in the past when he helped me out with a transaction, it took a while too. One time I had my 4-year old son with me and he asked, "what's his name?" And I told him. He started saying his name sounded similar to "coronavirus" "covid" and he probably would get make fun of. RUDE/so unprofessional. My son's name sounds nothing similar to the word "coronavirus" or "covid". If I come back to this post office for shipping or other transaction, I would not let Frank help me with the transaction. Other clerks there work faster and doesn't say offensive words like him or ask too many unnecessary questions. Talk less and just do your job! Ask question when it's necessary. read more

After moving into a family member's old apartment they started sending my packages to my new family member's address. They confirmed that they had filled out a forwarding address form AS AN INDIVIDUAL to have packages delivered from the old address to their new one, yet somehow they delivered my packages to their new address too? I even filled out a forwarding address form myself in person and yet they still can't seem to ship the packages to the correct address. If you ever need to mail a package (or 35 as I did last year), this is the post office to do it in! John, Ben, and everyone I've met at this location are willing to bend over backwards to help you with your shipping needs. During the height of Christmas season last year, I came in with 35 individual packages all going to different locations as I couldn't get the online tool to work and they didn't bat an eye - they got right to it and chatted with me for as long as it took. Since then, they always greet me when I come in and it's nice to be remembered, especially in a city the size of Bellevue. Came here after hours looking for priority mailing boxes. Lobby was open, but they had no boxes set out. I used to go to the Issaquah post office and no problem, even after hours. This is generally not a great post office, parking can be crowded and service is slower than it used to be. Have been there at least 50 times and recently have stopped coming. Their online support is fantastic, print from home, pickups, etc. so recommendation is to visit http://www.usps.com and almost never step into a post office again. read more

I mail a LOT of stuff. I live like an old person -- I love the post office, the drug store, and the grocery store. There a quite a few benefits to this branch of the US Postal Service that a lot of area locations don't have. And most of the comments here seem to be about the workers that deliver mail FROM this branch. Let's talk about the service when you actually visit the place and not about the mail carriers. First of all, there's a PARKING LOT. And it's FREE. No parking on the street like at the Broadway location. It won't cost you another $.25 to $.50 surcharge to mail something just because you decided to drive. Next -- it's OPEN UNTIL 6PM (as of June 2010). So you can actually go on the way home from work and it's still open (again, unlike the Broadway location). It's also open until 3pm on Saturdays. Sometimes you can just miss the cutoff time and they will let you slide in the door when they are accidentally open until 6:02pm or 6:03pm, but don't count on it. But the one thing they DON'T do is close the door at 5:57pm. Another bonus -- an APC (Automated Postal Machine). If the line's too long, you can get most of your business done at this kiosk. The APC works accurately, you just have to understand what you are mailing. A lot of people don't understand the difference between "parcel" and "letter" and if something is rigid and thicker than a normal letter, it usually has to ship as a "parcel." The postal workers have a ruler that measures width so when in doubt, check in with them to find out if your item has to ship as a "parcel package" or if it can ship as a letter. It's not the machine's fault if you don't know the rules. I don't understand why every post office does not have an APC because it really can cut down on lines and waiting. Finally, the employees aren't the MOST expedient in the world but they are definitely a step ahead of most USPS workers. There's a gentleman with gray hair and a mustache that usually works at the window to the far left as you approach the counter. He is incredibly efficient and knows his stuff. He helped me mail something to the UK that I thought was going to cost three times as much as it ended up charging me. The other staff members seem to be generally helpful and I have never had any problems or returns. A couple of the negatives are that it's at an extremely busy intersection and I have seen at least three wrecks outside the place before, so be careful. It's busy at high-peak times but not unexpectedly. Also a lot of times there are drifters that ask for money just outside the door so that can be a little annoying. But overall this has become my favorite post office in Seattle. read more

One star is one too many. My review isn't about the physical CD post office, but home delivery service from this location. I've lived at my current address for nearly 5 years and aside from one solid postal carrier many years ago, service has been terrible. I'm not sure if this is the route that no one wants, or if the USPS uses it as punishment, but the carriers I have had are god awful. Never has there been a consistant delivery time, sometimes its here by 10am, sometimes after 6pm, and often, not at all! We usually dont get mail for a few days and then get what is obviously days worth of mail crammed into the box. We recently had no mail delivery for 2 days prior to Veteran's Day - then on the holiday - a holiday on which there isn't supposed to be mail service - we got our two days worth of mail. Aside from the VERY spotty delivery, our carrier(s) also often dont even bother to put the mail in the mail box... They just toss it on the porch. Or have it half sticking out of the box, even though it would fit inside. In a place where it rains all the time, this is just super. This would be less infuriating if I wasn't also dealing with surly, rude carriers. One in particular goes out of his way to be unbelievably rude. He's the same fella who hoards up our mail. I tried to complain, and was told by a higher up that he was aware of many "problem" employees, but basically there is nothing they can do about it. If there was anywhere within walking distance where I could get a PO Box, I would in a minute. read more

There are huge groups of people who hang out outside the post office (or the 99 cent store next door) loitering... today they had a big truck parked in the middle of the parking lot blocking traffic... all the doors and windows open, blasting music. So I am sure the first half of this review doesn't relate to the actual US Post Office location. Bear with me: I saw that I could order stamps from the USPS website and have them delivered with my mail. I imagined the local Postal Office whose route covers my address would see a request for stamps and just pick up the stamps from behind the counter and deliver it with the mail. How mistaken! It was shipped from Kansas City, MO...to Seattle, WA. How is that supposed to take a single business day??? At first, when I didn't see them the day after I ordered, I thought to myself, "Well, I ordered it late at night. Maybe they didn't get to it by the time our mail went out in the morning." Two days after I ordered the stamps I received an email early in the morning telling me they had been mailed. The mail person never showed. On day three the mail was delivered with no stamps. I checked the tracking and saw they had just left the sorting facility in MO. What an idiotic mail (dis)service! If I had known the one day business delivery estimate was a crock, I would have zipped over to the post office and picked them up in person! Now this part of the review is for my local Post Office. We get mail delivered at random times of the day, every day! No discernible pattern has emerged after weeks of watching. Some mornings at 10, sometimes it's as late as 6:30 at night. The post office is already closed by 6:30 and the mail person is sometimes just then getting our mail to us. So frustrating... read more

Ok so I have only been here in the mornings on a weekday. So it has been pretty empty when I've gone in (no wait). The two ladies who work here in the mornings have been so nice and helpful when I've navigated mailing stuff to Hong Kong. (btw they have small flat rate boxes that you can stuff a small gift in and ship by priority mail for about $14 internationally). I like that they have a parking lot. :) read more

This post office is nice inside. Every time I go, the staff is usually friendly and helpful. The lines can get busy, but you can always use the automated shipping machine. The only complaint I have is the traffic at the entrance of the parking lot. Since there is only one way in and you have to deal with the Chinese market and restaurant customers. It can get hectic, so you might have to be a little patient. I recommend not going around lunch time. read more

This place is new and somewhat hidden behind Factoria area. It's near Top Gun restaurant or Jing Jing grocery store if you know where they are. The service is friendly and it's not that crowded as normal. If you come around 5pm, there are barely 2 people in line. The only minus in this place is that they don't care if your box has the FRAGILE stamp on it. They threw it anyways into the cart. I saw my package got that treatment and it has a glass vase inside!!! Grr... But I think that's always been the way it is, even for UPS or Fedex. Actually UPS across the street is much worst. This Post Office is brand new. I went there after hours yesterday (Wednesday, September 25) and found that the lobby was not open. Apparently there were a few others wondering what was going on as we all waited outside, because it appears someone must have locked the doors accidentally. Just some side comments in regards to this location. First, whoever made the decision to have the Post Office here obviously did not put much thought into this, because it's in a tough location. There's high traffic there, because of the asian supermarket AND the Chinese Top Gun restaurant. So it's not that easy getting out of either of the exit points. Second, I thought the Post Office was broke/bankrupt?!? Why did they build this location? Just additional evidence of the government's poor use of allocating resources. I'm a little upset to think that everyone elses and my postage is going to go up over time to fund this new location. read more

Mailed my wedding invites here and was SUPER stressed about it. We sent 2 testers out on Friday and they came through the mail destroyed on Monday. Tuesday I went in and talked to 3 different people to figure out how I could prevent that from happening again. We put a little more postage on (the lady was super sweet and found me nice stamps to match) and then they taped a huge sign over my bin so they wouldn't go through the machine! They were honest and said they couldn't control what the sorting facility did in Kent but everything would be OK. 3 days later, my friends sent me pics of the PERFECT invites without any machine marks! This post office is always busy, the staff are incompetent, and they are so slow. If they went any slower, they would be going back in time. They are the closest to me and serve my neighborhood, but I knew I needed to go to a new post office when I asked about service to Europe. I was told I could only get Ground service. I was a little surprised by this and asked for the price of other services. The staff person insisted only Ground, and even clarified: delivery would be by train or truck. The price was unbelievably high (note to self: use FedEx next time) and would take 6-14 days. Presumably it is expensive and time consuming to drive to Europe. Go figure! Use another branch, such a FedEx. =) read more
