There are two post offices near me, I've attempted to go to this one twice now both with bad service from the same lady. Elderly with blonde hair. One time she refused to send a package because she didn't like the label, I went to the other post office same label and they sent it and it was delivered fine. Second time I came in close to closing ran in with a smile cause I had just rushed from a 10hr shift to make it in time. I said "I just made it" and she barks "not really what do you want" with this disgusted look on her face... I was sending a letter I put a lot of thought into for a friend and I didn't want that to be who I entrusted it with, so I just said never mind and left despite having to wait another day to send it. Will not risk coming back here. read more

Bellingham's post office locations have a bad reputation in the community, but when I visited this location, it seems more like they are just understaffed. I swung by this branch to buy some stamps and mail a few things and there was a line, but it moved at a pretty good pace. The worker at the window was kind and efficient, but you could tell she was exhausted. USPS isn't perfect, but this location is trying their best. read more

US Post Office - Service window - Post Offices Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

It took a while before this Post Office got it's "sea legs," but now that the remodeling/construction is behind them and are open with regular hours and adequately staffed by regularly assigned, full-time postal clerk's the service quality has shot up! I am regularly greeted with a friendly, "hello" and on the few occasions I actually have a question or transaction that requires interaction to complete I've found the clerk's to be knowledge, helpful, friendly and efficient! Frankly, the post office as a whole is amazing. What other organization can fairly reliably deliver a letter anywhere in the country within a few days for 50 cents? The reason people complain about postal service is because we have set extremely (some would say, unreasonably) high expectations on them specifically because they have done such a great job for us historically. I'm awed by their efficiency and applaud the overall quality of their work. The Post Office plays such a critical role in our daily lives is easy to let a single employee having a bad day or a misplaced (almost never lost) piece of mail distract is from the great job they do day in and day out without recognition. ------ PREVIOUS ONE-STAR REVIEW Since the Post Office decided to close the contract station in Fairhaven, those of us on the southside have been reduced to going to the downtown post office in the Old Federal Building on Magnolia. I haven't had much interaction with the personnel here. They seem nice enough, but I miss being personally greeted nearly everytime I entered the store and being able to pick up my mail pretty much anytime I chose. Now, I learn they are closing the retail lobby for the next six months or so for remodeling, though we will still have access to our post office box at this location, the hours have been significantly reduced. The Retail Lobby is still closed for remodeling and there are no USPS employees here except when the mail is being distributed, so I no longer have ANY interaction with onsite personnel. LATEST INCONVENIENCE: The parking lot used to be for any tenant at the Old Federal Building (presumably, including box holders at the Post Office), but now, adding "insult to injury," parking is restricted to City vehicles only! I thought I might try this post office since I really love the architecture of the old downtown buildings. The lady behind the counter is about as old as the building itself and super rude. She spent 20 minutes talking to some beard/bald Bellingham guy about a letter he was sending to France. After we had a neutral interaction for the stamp transaction she insisted on telling me multiple times as I was already leaving that it was "illegal" to park in front of the downtown location. I was parked out front in an EV charging spot with multiple other EV charging spaces open and no EVs in sight. I just went in to buy a sheet of stamps and was already leaving so I don't know why she made a point to tell me she was going to call the police on me for parking there. Lady seems a bit unhinged. I got awesome service there. Johnny was incredibly helpful (also, Karen, I think was her name). I had a hot mess of stuff to deal with--thank goodness there were no other customers to hold up--we were all watching for that. But he was patient and helpful and good humored and got me through the various machinations. read more

There's something entrancing about visiting a post office. The entrancement, I believe, is due partly to the aged poster, reminding me to sign up for the draft, and other items, which beckon back, to a simpler time. However, if I consider the totality of the circumstance, and add into the entrancement - I like going here. :) The employees, Doug, and Kerry, in particular, are wonderful people to interact with. The service they provide me makes me feel confident my mail will get where it needs to go, and that I'm charged the correct amount. The post office itself is clean, logically-devised, and contains necessary supplies, to ship books, and small items. I deduct one star, for the age of the facility - I want a facility that is environmentally-friendly, and modern. In the meantime, I would recommend visiting here, and, I'm happy to patronize the business. read more

I go to this post office because it is near my work place. It has a small selection of mailing materials--if you want a lot of options you might not find everything you want here, but they have most things. The staff is very efficient. There is usually only one person working at a time, but even when it's busy, the line moves fairly quickly. The staff is courteous, efficient, helpful, and accurate. They don't have their own parking, so customers either have to walk or pay for street parking, but it's good stuff, Maynard. read more

The post master here is incredibly gruff. Whenever I go in, he makes me feel very rushed and insecure. It's almost like he expects everyone to know rates and policies off the top of their heads! He answers questions rudely and sarcastically, and seems unwilling to help people beyond his mandate. If it weren't for the convenient location, I'd never go to this place again. read more

I've never been to a post office where I've been treated so rudely by an employee of the USPS. Dave was a complete jerk. Is it too much to assume that you can ask an employee of a business questions about things you don't understand, like one price vs another or shipping time? Is the job here so bad that you can't just be friendly to another human? By reading through the other posts its a surprise he still works here. read more
