Very unpleasant employees. I've gotten nothing but attitude from the ladies who work here. Went in with a letter sized envelope with a photo inside, envelope labeled 4 times with "do not bend." Employee told me it's considered a package... so I handed her the letter to show her it's not. She proceeded to bend it in every angle then tell me I was correct. It's no wonder the place is usually empty... which is why I continue to go here, but I will now start to go out of my way to the Royal Oak USPS. read more

Scum of the earth. I went when I was 9 months pregnant and stood in line to be told that they won't mail my package because it's not taped. They refused to tape it for me... A PIECE OF TAPE. Went again recently, waited half an hour then was told they won't mail my package because the label doesn't match the box... what?? all of this can be automated (example: stamp vending machines and self scan packages) or better yet eliminate all usps' because UPS and FedEx are doing just fine on their own read more

I gotta stop coming here. The one woman Kayla is inherently rude and immediately hostile. On multiple occasions. If I see her car here I'll turn around and leave. One time she told everyone in line, at least 5 people, she was going on lunch and they needed to leave and she was locking the doors and closing. It was around noon, no warning, had already been waiting for 20 minutes, no heads up "hey after this guy I'm closing" or signs on the door or anything. Super frustrating. One of the worst attitudes for no reason. You can be incredibly kind as I've seen most people be, and she is just disgustingly rude. A very unhappy woman who hates her job clearly. I get people have bad days but she is MISERABLE. The other woman Samantha has been great lately. Usually I don't leave bad reviews but I left feeling like I was being scolded, I hope she feels better soon. read more

Props to the employees here for being friendly. Today on my trip the line was LONG, but the two women working the counter were beyond friendly and patient to everyone. This is a pleasant surprise from some of the other post office locations I've been to recently. They do however seem to be understaffed, government cut backs maybe? And the packing area often needs to be restocked but again, if you're short staffed probably not easy to do. As I said, at least the employees are nice! read more

Snapshot: Functional for mailing letters, if you have a glacial epoch to wait around. Hellish parking lot. Berkley's outpost of the venerable USPS dates from the Eisenhower Administration and, judging by the musty smell and dank groan of the ventilation, hasn't seen updates since Ike eyed up the military industrial complex with growing dread. The town post office remains dedicated mostly to sorting, and a narrow corridor snakes past various seasonal displays and a table for filling out forms to a chronically clogged service area. Citizens, as part of your civic duty, please go to Royal Oak's huge facilities if you have twenty parcels to package up because Berkley USPS simply hasn't the room. Not that this stops some elderly lady in too-big sunglasses and leather leggings from choking the line by scribbling addresses on a stack of mailers anyways. Every. Darned. Week. Expect no frills postal amenities that top out around a bank of post boxes and basic supplies, including bubble mailers and specialty parcel sizes. A small number of birthday and thank you cards at reasonable prices are on hand. Limited edition stamp sheets fly out the door in record time; not once have I ever been able to get so much as a lighthouse or a flower stamp for those relatives who like to see the various options. No more than two post office agents man the desk at any time, and one older brunette lady desperately needs to stop gabbing with customers when the line-up reaches back to the front door. Urgency ends at the start of the queue, apparently. Peak times (lunch and after work) reveal the need for someone else on shift. A 45 minute wait at 1:30 PM on a weekday because someone clocked out for her lunch is ridiculous. I'll use this post office in a pinch when I have nothing better to do than gag on cloying air and listen to people talk about Depends. Finally, the parking lot is shared with Rite-Aid and hasn't been repaved since 1953. Harried drivers whip in and out without watching where they go - be careful! Gaping potholes and broken curbs abound. I tried to make a right turn, ended up hitting my muffler on a bit of concrete that tore away from the exit ramp-thingy, and now face a complete replacement of a 9 week old muffler. This is a star post office. Best of all in the surrounding area. It is small and quaint and small town feeling and the people are extremely helpful and accommodating. Especially if you have invitations!!! I will definitely return here. Better staff than WB, RO, FH for sure! read more

My problem isn't with the service, it's usually a short wait and clerks are friendly. I realized I was charged for something I didn't purchase after I got home. I do not have a car and don't know if I can get back there too soon. I tried to call the phone # on my receipt which is just an automated waste of time. Now I tried to call the actual phone number for this location and it just rang and rang. Can't talk to a real person these days! Great service!!!! read more

Sent a package today that could have saved me $7. The guy behind the counter printed a new shipping label instead of informing me that I could of went to UPS for free. It was my mistake for not double checking, however the employee clearly knew what was up. Informed me after I paid. The type of people who you have to fight back when there's a legitimate defect in an item even after purchasing warranty. I understand its a business but there's no need to lie to customers. This is exactly how you lose a client. read more
