Been going to this one for location purposes, and I tend to let things roll off my shoulders, but these people, 2 or 3 in particular, act incredibly rude or stand-off-ish. As if we're doing something to keep them from their job. I pre-label and do EVERYTHING myself to save them time and labor, and just bring them to the counter, zero interaction usually. And they cant even keep the counter cleared, or when asked nicely what they would like me to do if theyre just standing there and the counter for packages is full. I rarely get a response, or a rude one at that. I guess theyd rather i wait in line with 20 packages, and have them label and ship each one individually and get my reciept. Horrible service!!! The lady working at 12:31 today is the rudest mean person I've ever met! I have a broken hand and needed to send out a Priority box and stood in line and when I got to counter I asked her to help me put the box together and she said NO it's NOT her job and proceeded to call another customer up!! This post office location is one of several that I use occasionally and mostly to drop off something that needs to be mailed. It is located near another business that we visit once a month and so if something needs to go out and I don't plan on going to the location where I check our PO Boxes, and if we are attending our monthly meeting across the street, it is a convenient place to deposit outgoing mail, usually after normal business hours. I have learned that you can never know too many United States Post Office locations. You gain flexibility in sending out letters and other mail. Unlike our usual location and a couple of others where I have needed to have something like a package weighed and then purchased stamps, I have not gone inside this location and have only used it for convenience for dropping off pre-stamped items! read more

This post office is always busy whenever I went here. However, the staff is pretty good so they get the line moving and you never have to wait a long time. They are always friendly and efficient. I prefer this post office over many in the area. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Madison Heights, Michigan

I worked at a small local business in Madison Heights for the past 26 years. The past few months, we don't get the volume of mail like we use to. This week, the mail arrives in the late afternoon. We normally used to get the mail at 9:00 AM. Today it has not arrived at all and already it is 2:52 PM. Yesterday, the mailed arrived after 1:30 PM and only 9 pieces. When I call to speak to a Supervisor on business mail delivery route, no one answers the phone line. Sometimes we find the mail just lying down in the plant. The mail carrier doesn't attempt to come into the main office area. This does not justify raising postage rates at all. read more

My neighborhood post office, very conviently located in the mall near 13 & John R. Line moves pretty quick, but I've become a fan of the self service machine if I'm mailing out only one or two items- it's so quick and convenient! They do not perform any passport services, nearest post office that does that is down John R. and in Hazel Park several miles away. For the occasional package I need to mail I couldn't ask for a better post office. Recommend and definitely repeat! read more

This post office in Madison Heights is fantastic - they have the most friendly employees, the line is never ridiculous, parking is easy and accessible, and the drop-off boxes outside are super convenient. Their 24 hour package drop off box has been broken for going on three months now. I have talked to employees at the location, called USPS twice and made two email request to have this box repaired. Still nothing. Still not repaired. This is totally unacceptable service. read more

The guy named Clang is very picky and very talented at creating difficulties to people. The other clerks such as a black women and eastern European looking woman are very mean to people. A man being helped before me was a little difficult to deal with and I could see that. So after the lady at the front was done with him I waited a few moments to go up there to ask about my package that said "Available for Pickup" on my tracking information. She was very rude and snappy at me for my simple question. While I know she was probably already in a bad mood from the previous customer, it should have not been taken out on me. I get it costumer service can be hard and draining, but that doesn't mean you have to treat the other costumers poorly. read more

Honestly, I had the best experience at a post office that I've ever had. So much so, I was eager to write a review. I walked in at 3:00pm on a Tuesday afternoon, and it was not busy. There were three people working and available, which I swear never happens at any post office I visit. Then, I grabbed an envelope and was trying to force my paperwork inside when one of the clerks left her seat to come help me choose the better fitting envelope -- which was also more affordable! She answered my questions and made pleasant conversation as I was finishing up, as well. I so rarely encounter kindness at the post office, which is pretty unfortunate, but this experience changed that. read more

I've repeatedly received my informed mail, showing mail to be delivered that they don't deliver. They don't answer the phones, had a recording on to leave a message, they took it off. They blame informed mail not being accurate, when clearly you can see the mail they're showing is addressed to you from the sender. I had my city tax bill delivered to my neighbor. My grandsons W2, and a wedding invitation showing up in informed mail hasn't been delivered. You get nowhere calling anyone. One hand blames the other while people aren't receiving their mail and they don't care. I had my complete set of medical records just disappear. I got an email saying they were being delivered. They had them but never delivered them. I had to reorder them with no explanation on what happened to them. They pull mail off the scanners so they aren't scanned, a person scans them and than you don't know what your getting so if a piece doesn't arrive you have nothing to report. Unscanned images don't give you the option to report as not received plus obviously you don't know why or what they didn't scan. Cards, mail with personal information are definitely a concern. I've received less mail than the informed mail shows without an image of what I didn't get. I'm suspecting that the mail is being manipulated as to bypass the informed mail option by not scanning certain mail and by not delivering all items shown. I don't trust the US postal service anymore. read more

This place is absolutely abhorrent. When my mom went to this USPS location to receive a check that forwarded over from her old address, they laughed in her face and snidely told her they don't have it and that it would be illegal for them to hold onto it which is laughably untrue. Especially since after her persistence, it turns out they did in fact have the check and ended up giving it to her. I am now waiting on a parcel and have called over 30 times and no one will speak to me. Very rude and incompetent staff. read more

Ordered a product on Amazon. The package was not delivered but brought back to the post office. I requested a re-delivery, and instead of delivering the package again, it is set to be returned to the shipper. This post office is always busy. Workers are slow and they often are shorthanded. The customers waiting in line are always mad about the long wait. It should not take 45 minutes to wait in line and it not a holiday. I don't think the other people who gave a good review have been there recently. read more

If there is a No star option, i will give it to this post office. They are very rude to customers. They turn off the lights 5:45pm even if they are supposed to be open until 6pm. They would not turn on the lights even if you request them to. If you come there at 5:58pm and the door is still open, they would tell you they are closed. read more

OMG, all I can say is absolutely horrible. The one clerk Patty went above and beyond out her way to help and assist, but she was unaware of how to do a particular task. I arrived 10 minutes before closing and she needed help from the older bald buy with a partial tattoo around his wrist (He seemed very feminine - possibly Gay) (Nothing against gays, this is the best way I can describe this guy) - but he was so rude, not only to myself and the other customers waiting, but also to Patty. I completely understand why the postal service is going to the S*** hole, its because of arrogant, rude, idiots like this guy. I will never in my life go to another postal place again, from now on all my bills will get elected for e-mail delivery. Look at the reviews, go someplace else until they get rid of this idiot who I think may be the guy running the front there. Ditto on the friendly service and everything else Valerie G said about this place. This is my regular post office and I've never had any problems or bad service. The lobby is open 24-hours so, if you really need to, you can use the automated computer to mail a package or buy stamps. When I was in high school, the staff were nice enough to let us film part of our spanish video project inside too. A++ to this location. read more

Not getting our important legal mail, packages for days. Daughter and I visited the office and complained after standing in a long line with 1 employee working the front main desk. Employee looked tired, unhappy and was not even attempting to be friendly. I had today off and kept looking out on our front porch every 10 minutes for hours. No sign of a mail delivery truck or person, hoping if the carrier was too lazy to come to our house I would come to him to get our mail. Called the mail carrier department. 2x Supervisor informed me she would check our house as the carrier said there is some kind of obstruction and can't deliver mail here. She said she will be here tomorrow morning and can't get here today. Hope she brings all our mail with her too! Our drive way is always shoveled as good as our neighbors. You can see the cement in places. Sidewalks are all snow blowed infront of house too. Madison Heights used to have a good post office and delivery people and doesn't provide good service anymore. I have been going there for many, many yrs. & have always had great service. Everyone is always nice & polite, & never grumpy.

Awful. Marking packages delivered that either never arrive or come days later, sometimes opened and resealed. Placing packages in the rain instead of under 1/3 of my porch that's dry and covered. Takes many, many calls to get through to someone. Got the runaround when trying to file a complaint after having SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF PACKAGES STOLEN OR NEVER DELIVERED (marked as delivered) without a single apology. Very shady and poor customer service. Next move is to file with their watch dog. I feel bad for any honest or decent people that work there, that is if they even exist. read more

Its unfortunate that just about every time I go to this post office with packages to ship, I end up walking out with the exact same packages and going some place else. I use the automated system a lot and it is either down and unavailable, stamps do not print, or my biggest issue: they do not clear the chute for stamped package drop off so I can't send packages. I stop by on my way to work and the chute is always full and cannot receive packages. Waste of my time. read more

Poor, rude and inconsistent customer service. I mailed twice in 2 consecutive days. First day, I mailed using my credit card. I had no problem. The second day I mailed, the other lady and the guy told me they will not accept my card , the same card I used to pay with my previous transaction. They told me that they were not accepting credit cards without signature! How terrible and inconsistent with their policy because the same credit card was accepted with my transaction on the previous day. I was even showing them my ID but still they didn't honor it. You know the guy (tall, big chubby) who seem to be the in-charge, should have honored my card because it was accepted on my previous transaction. Why the other lady accepted it and chubby guy doesn't accept it??!! I don't sign my card for security reason, I put in my card "SEE ID". It was alright if from the very first start you didn't accept my card but it was only yesterday that you have accepted my card... You could have considered it! Besides, it was not right. I have used the same credit card with the USPS Troy branch and I have no problem! I have used it anywhere with no signature at the back and I have no problem! It was only with your branch that the chubby guy was RUDE and discriminating the customers! He needs to be fired! One thing humiliating, I am a cashier and I honor credit cards without signature as long as they have an ID and the name should match with their ID and credit card. That's common sense! The chubby guy doesn't have common sense but discriminating me! You should try to get rid of this people as what Pres. Obama said we should be ONE and not discriminating! read more

I agree with every other negative review of this post office. I was supposed to have a number of different packages delivered; post office scanned them as "delivered" and no sign of the packages anywhere at my address. My packages were supposed to arrive 1.5 weeks ago, and still no sign of them! Incompetent, rude, lazy, non-attentive: these are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind regarding this USPS. I would not recommend this location to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and go to a different location (even if it's out of the way) to ensure your packages/mail are delivered.
