I agree with all the negative reviews. My packages are never delivered and 90% of the time they do not even leave a slip. My wife is home but they never make an attempt to deliver. It is no wonder the post office is doomed. I hope the layoffs start with this location. read more

After the first couple of years of having packages lost I switched to renting a PO box at Office 11206. Essentially I pay $216 a year just to avoid spending another second in this hell hole. This is the worst post office I have ever been to. read more

Hands down, Absolute worst PO I've ever been to. On Christmas Eve, 2 people working at the front window. One for pick ups and one for drop offs--with a backup of at least 30 customers and about 10 at a time waiting after they've given a slip for pick up. The employees were lovely and patient given the amount of frustration and hostility being directed toward them--doing the best they could under the circumstances. But who is in charge of staffing? Or who is in charge of making sure the branch manager has the resources they need to adequately staff the branches. The experience was awful. Unfortunately for me, this is the closest post office to where I live. Lines are long as hell and every time I come in, I always spend at least an hour here every time I come in. Most of the employees are very lazy/rude. I print postage for packages online and this one time I had no tape for the label I printed so I took the package to the post office and couldn't find any tape. So I got on line and waited until I got to a window. I put the package in and the employee started yelling at me at how I was suppose to tape the label onto the package before giving it to her, etc. She handed me a roll of tape and told me to go tape it elsewhere. I don't get why she couldn't just tape the label on herself. It takes less than a minute and postage is already paid online. Another time I had to ship a package out of the country. When I print the label, it come s out with 4 sheets. One is for me and the other 3 is for customs and what not. They usually put the lables in a bag that they stick onto the package. I went up to the window and the employee starts yelling at me saying I should've put them in the bag at home and that it wasn't her responsibility to do it. News flash, I don't have those sticky bags at home and how is that not her responsibility to assist customers? Getting packages is always a pain too. They sometimes have a separate line and the person only takes 2 peach slips at a time and takes like 20 minutes getting those 2 so you'll be stuck on line for a long time. read more

If I could give it NO stars, I would. I think they purposefully leave the phone off the hook so that they won't have to deal with a horde of unsatisfied customers. They constantly claim to deliver packages when they don't (someone is always home at my delivery address). Then they claim to leave a slip, but they never do. Then they lose packages. This is probably the most ghetto post office I have ever been to. I've actually lived in this neighborhood all of my life, and this post office has become the hellmouth of post offices for well over a decade. It used to be a pretty decent place. USPS needs to be shut down. 15 calls and it was all just endless ringing. They don't deliver to my address for some reason and they're the only courier who does that. They don't even attempt to deliver the package. They just automatically return it to sender. That has happened 3 times now and I don't effing know why. I'd rather get a root canal than come to this post office because every time it feels like I'm being punished and sentenced to life in prison for a crime I didn't commit. I've waited in lines to pick up packages for 2+ hours on several occasions because they don't even bother to deliver anything. They often don't even leave slips. It's as if packages arrive here and the staff ignores them. They've lost my packages twice. They're extremely rude, grossly incompetent and likely haven't had any training. Is there even anyone in charge? They should shut this shit down, fire the lot of them and reopen as just a room where people can just dig their packages out of piles - it would be quicker that way. Today, I've been here for 30 minutes already (I expect at least 1.5 hrs because I can read the line lengths by now), and I've already been accosted by an horribly mannered employee for not having a slip - ha, guess why I don't have one. Everyone here is depressed and/or getting yelled at; there's absolutely no process at all and I don't know if I'll make it out alive today. This is regarding the Post Office at 47 Debevoise Street in Brooklyn: Clerk #4 (African American woman with long silver nails and a long weave) needs a serious attitude adjustment. If she doesn't want to deal with customers perhaps she should be in the back sorting packages. I asked her a simple question, "Why does this have to go Priority?" to which she responded, "BECAUSE IT HAS TO GO PRIORITY!!! DO YOU WANT TO SEND IT OR NOT?!?" All said in a rude, condescending, discourteous tone and attitude. I have been going to this post office for quite some time and I have NEVER encountered someone so rude. In fact, I have been working in customer service for 30 years and have NEVER encountered someone as rude as her. I literally wished I could have punched her in the mouth for being such a rude individual. Totally unwarranted. Simply because I asked why the postage for this package in particular was so expensive and asked if there was an alternative, less expensive way of sending it. She needs customer service training ASAP. As it is sales are dropping in the Postal Service. Having this rude individual at their windows can only serve to dissuade more people from seeking out USPS services. Since I have no choice but to use the USPS I'll be sure to skip her window from now on should I ever end up having to send a package and she is the clerk when the "next window please" bell goes off. I hope my review helps others to avoid this post office at all costs. I once took off of work to run a few errands and decided to go to the post office first. That was the only errand I was able to run. I was there for over two hours trying to pick up a package. It was horrible and I tried so hard to be cool and not get upset but I was very very upset. They are open 9-5 and like the other gentlemen I also work 9-5 so what now? Indeed, they are open on Saturday but there are at least 85 people there before they even open the doors Saturday morning. Now my girlfriend offered to pick up the package for me and I want her to because I cant but I like her a lot and she is such a great friend that I feel bad letting her go get the package. I don't want to set her up like that and hurt her that way! They are under staffed, thus unprofessional. We all need to make a formal complaint and pursue the issue. I try to have nothing to do with them but sometimes it's unavoidable. Just thinking about them makes me nervous as if I was going to experience some sort of panic attack. read more

What's left to say about this post office? It's the ninth circle of hell. As others have noted, waiting for a package takes forever--the employees take the pink slip and disappear to the back, returning later after a nap or snack break or who knows what. Today I went to pick up a package, and after an hour and three attempts to look for it, the employees determined that it had been returned to sender days before it should have been (they are supposed to hold packages for 10 days). This place is literally Hell on Earth. I would rather go to the DMV, Social Security office and OB-GYN all in one day than go here. 1. I had one package that was supposed to be delivered on January 16th. We have a building with a code to get in. The mailman never leaves packages (FedEx, UPS, every other courier ALWAYS leaves our packages) so he left a pink slip. I called to reschedule delivery for a Saturday - they never came. I called to reschedule ANOTHER delivery a week later for a Saturday, again, they just never came. My package was sent back. 2. I had a package coming from Gilt. The package was transferred to USPS from UPS (why does the world hate me?) and this time it was NEVER EVEN ATTEMPTED for delivery. Ever. It says 'out for delivery' and then it said 'delivery info not updated'. I called the post office and it was sitting there. I now have another redelivery scheduled for today (Saturday) and have been on hold for about thirty minutes waiting to confirm if it's being redelivered or if I need to walk into that hell hole they call a government building. I 100% do not want to go there if it's actually being delivered to my apartment in case I miss the delivery. This place is hell. It should be shut down. It also smells like absolute garbage inside. read more

THE WORST. The union doesn't allow these workers to get fired, so they mistreat any and anyone that walks in the door. I've had various missing packages that magically arrived WEEKS later despite saying delivered. I wish more could be done, but sadly, they just don't care, so you're probably just wasting your time. One worker said what do you want us to do? We get thousands of packages everyday, if it's missing and it says delivered it might still be here, but we can't do anything for you until we find it. What I want for you to do it the job you're paid to do. Don't mark packages as delivered if they aren't. End of story. You wouldn't have to worry about seeing me at the post office if you did your job. read more

This has to be the absolute worst usps location in America. So I have this package that I was tracking through FedEx and from fedex it went to USPS. Cool. No problem. Now Monday jan 20th was MLK day and I was under the assumptions that no mail or packages were being delivered. So as I check my tracking behold my package says delivered. . Now by time I check it's an hour after the supposed delivery. (Keep in mind I was home all day and wasn't expecting a delivery) so I run to my mailbox excited that my package is there a day early. Open my mailbox to nothing but emptiness. Can't call the post office because they're closed. So I call a friend of mine who works for usps and inquire how can a package say delivered if you guys are closed. He then says, no local mail is out. Only packages get delivered. Cool. I call the company who then says to wait a few days the delivery notification just means that FedEx delivered it to usps. I mean I know better but I say ok. 2 days later. Still no package. I called the post office yesterday. And after an hour of busy tones I get through. A woman answers. I explain to her my dilemma. She then takes down my full name address number and tracking. Says she'll contact the driver and give me a call back. A whole day later still no call. I'm calling as I type this and all I continuously get are busy signals. I know that there's a strkg possibility that he/she placed it in the wrong mailbox. Because everyday I come in my building there's a ton a misplaced mail on the floor that was delivered to the wrong ppl. Never again will I use USPS. Close to 50 one-star reviews. Oh well at least they can claim consistency of service! Too bad in this case it is consistently horrible. Beside common complains like bad customer service and permanently ridiculous lines, my major complain is that they don't so their main job which is deliver mail. If you have a package they will not deliver it. Tracking online will show that they attempted delivery but customer was not available for business and notice was left. But you were home all day and wonder how it is possible?! So you go downstairs to pick up the notice and it's not there. Don't worry, you will get the notice the next day. They don't even bother attempting delivery and leave those notices only next day. And sometimes they don't even leave the notice. I know I am not the only person suffering from this bc every time I go for a pick up there are other people complaining about the same thing. The nice people of USPS, you deserve your one star for showing up to work but that's about it. read more
