It's a shame you can't leave a negative number of stars! I shipped a package from Canastota NY to Southlake Texas with an estimated delivery date of 11/30. I realize it's not a guaranteed date but as of 12/9, it still has not been delivered. It shipped 11/26 and was in Dallas 11/28. Then, I guess it took a side trip to Cincinnati OH for a week and was back in Dallas on 12/6. A package sent to Butte, MT due to arrive 12/6 is still not there as of 12/9. I can only hope that the military priority that I sent (at the tune of $24.25)full of cookies arrives in Iraq faster! From now on, regardless of price, I'm going with UPS or FedEx. This is ridiculous!! I doubt it could cost more than the $43 the postal service charged for an 11 pound pkg. that was 12x13x16. I guess anything within driving distance will get delivered personally! read more

The manager, Debbie, was rude and clearly did not care about her job. She spoke in an unbelievably condescending way, and answered "I don't know, that isn't my job" to basic questions such as how much I would be paying for my passport and where I could find the appropriate forms when I was literally there for a passport appointment. I made an appointent to get a passport here. I arrived on time, but there were two people in front of me in line, so I was 15 minutes "late." When I got to the counter and said what I was there for, the man at the counter rolled his eyes at me. I was then sent to another counter and the woman was even more rude and said I was late. I told her I had been in line and she said I wasn't. She refused to assist me in obtaining my passport. I was appalled at how condescending both interactions were. This is utterly terrible customer service. Get your passport somewhere else with actual customer service. read more

I don't know how but I always seem to find myself at this post office when I'm in Burlington for one reason or another. During this past visit it was to purchase postcard stamps - which, they oddly did not have more than 40 of and I was needing 70+. I can understand why some of the other Yelpers are not in love with this place but here are a few reasons I prefer it to my own in Indianapolis: 1.) free and easy parking; 2.) the line moves fairly quick; 3.) the staff is friendlier than the crew I have in Indianapolis. Staff is rude and talks down to you even when legitimate questions are asked. They are not helpful. I recommend you go to absolutely any other post office in the state of Vermont before you go here. read more

I tried to send hand sanitizer to my elderly family members. I told the clerk what was in the package. The package arrived empty with a post office sticker saying that it was an empty box. I called the post office and after listening to all sorts of excuses I was put on hold but the supervisor I was speaking to did not silence the call so I heard what was being said. The janitor was complaining that there was no more toilet paper and she snapped that that is because "people are stealing the toilet paper" then went on to talk to someone else about my complaint. When she got back on the phone she had more excuses and I politely asked if they had cameras and whether she was reviewing them for if people were stealing coveted items (hand sani during a pandemic) out of packages. She blew up and when I pointed out that I had heard her say people were stealing toilet paper from the bathrooms all she could say was "how do you know that was me saying that. I dont even know how you could have heard that if you were on hold etc etc" and sounded panicked and kept repeating that these are hard times. I am contacting the police. Be careful where you send packages out of! And be careful what you say is in packages if it is a coveted item. Post office workers are just people and we are all panicked but my elderly in laws needed that modest amount of hand sanitizer I was able to part with. They are in their late 70s and one has a breathing issue already. read more

I had 3 small boxes filled with some pre-labeled, ready-to-ship packages. My fiancee and I arrived a few minutes before close and parked right in the front of this Post Office. We each brought in one of the boxes and dropped them off. I left to grab the last box and when returning, this clerk closed the door in my face and said they were closed. Keep in mind my car was parked not even 10 yards in front of the building, everyone in the post office saw that I had pulled up and dropped to boxes off already. I looked at my phone and it said it was exactly 5pm. I explained to the lady that I very well could have had all 3 boxes in right away. In fact, my fiancee offered to carry 2 in, but I told her not to, as I couldn't imagine someone actually closing the door on us when we were right there. I explained it was exactly 5, so I was on time, that I had these already labeled and ready to go, and had no need for customer service (as the people already in the Post Office would require). She continued to refuse in a rude manner before walking away. It appeared to me as well as a few bystanders that she very intentionally went to the door to make sure I couldn't bring my last shipment in. She waited by the door and closed it just as I came by. This is clearly a case of following the letter of the law, but inconveniencing a customer that spends a lot of money at your location. I would have completely understood if I was a few minutes late, but I was not. After walking outside, a bystander commiserated with me and told me he had also had several run-ins with this woman where she had been rude and unhelpful. read more

This place is absurdly out of order. The slowest service I've ever experienced in a post office. I always find myself waiting in line for 20 minutes on the verge of a panic attack because I never pay the meters outside. Every package I've ever tried to mail always gets denied by the older lady with the glasses.. so try to avoid getting her in line because she's always trying to start beef with you. The little lady will talk to you for days, like seriously too long, like with villainous intent of postponing your attempt to escape this place. They're all nuts. Everyone of them. read more

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, my daughter send an express package via USPS and paid $35.90 for it. The carrier instead of bringing it to the door at some point in time stuffed it in the mail box that is on the road. We expect better service from USPS. read more

On the day of june 21 2017, i went to the post office on 11 elmwood ave in burlington vt to look for a package that was long over due. The clerk said the letter carrier could not access my mail box and said the package was at 320 pine st in burlington vt. the lady (lori) said she would have to talk to the mail carrier to locate the package which has been in the state of vermont for 5 days.
