The mail carriers are the BEST! They are cheerful delivering mail in the rain or shine!!

This is the worst post office I've ever been to and I've lived in multiple county's and cities. The post office clerks are not helpful and they are rude. I was trying to ship a box with a pre-label and it was through an eBay sale. The man at the desk told me that I needed a QR code and I insisted that I opted for the option without a QR code. I had already printed out the label and taped it on the box. There was no need for the QR code. He said I could not ship it that way, so just to be on the safe side, I stepped out of line had no phone signal inside so I went outside and I contacted eBay and they said that the pre-printed label would be fine because that was the option I chose. Mind you It took about 30 minutes to get a person on the phone, I go back into the post office and wait in line , when I went back to the desk with another clerk this time because I did not want to speak with the one that I had previously spoken to who was no help, because he was so dead set on me, scanning some kind of QR code.The second clerk was able to process and scan my pre-printed label within 2 minutes and no problem the box got shipped so I spent about 45minutes at that point wasted trying to figure out this QR code that did not exist. Extremely annoyed that this could have been shipped and processed in like five minutes took so long, this was the first time I had to ship something in this manner and a little help or even insight would have been nice , instead I got blank looks and told no and then told yes by another. So annoyed, I will not be back to this post office ever again! read more

This is one of the worst post offices I've been to. The clerks seem to be nice but several packages which I scanned in my pre-paid label at the self-service kios, then drop them in the box right next to it inside the post office mysteriously disappear, never to be seen again. When I file a claim, they always don't pay even though the package is insured because they state they never had possession of the package. Basically scanning a package in at the kios does absolutely nothing. A warning even pops up and says "Scanning a prepaid label here does not guarantee package acceptance." When talking to the managers, they have told me things like "they don't scan packages in anymore because they are short staffed" and they rely on them to be scanned at their main hub instead. Then I spoke to a different manager and he tells me they are suppose to scan all packages in that get dropped off. When I explain to them how many packages I've had go missing here, they just say sorry. The only solution is to stand in the long line and have a clerk scan your package in. The reason why I don't just drop them in the blue mailboxes on the street is because I've had packages go missing there too. There is some serious theft going on within the postal network of this town. read more

These people either don't have a clue how long it will take to send a package Priority, or they lie about it. I had 2 fairly large packages to mail to Fairbanks Alaska. The postal clerk, who has worked there for many years, told me that if I sent them Priority that they would be delivered "in three days." Priority was very expensive, but I decided to go with that, and I paid over $156.00 to send both packages priority--over $75/package. I carried both packages in at the same time, so they were not that big or that heavy. I logged on to the website with both tracking numbers, so I could give my friend (who would have to drive through the snow) the best ETA time. I was stunned to see that the delivery time was actually going to be over 2 1/2 weeks, NOT the 3 days the clerk had promised. I went back down there today and met with the manager, who was just shy of utterly useless. He told me that despite the clerk's lie, that there was nothing they could do to "expedite" the delivery, and no, they would not issue any kind of a refund from the price I paid for priority, to "regular" delivery. What thieves. Fed Ex and UPS have their issues too, but at least when they give you an ETA for delivery, it is accurate; it doesn't take them four times the estimate they initially promised for delivery. It's even more galling that the PO charged me over $75 per package. read more

Place is on the older side now, it definitely shows it's age, but it's not as beat up as some post offices in other cities or metro areas. Every time I've gone staff have always been incredibly kind and extremely patient with people. Some people can be pretty irate or need a lot of help navigating how to send their items or get their needs addressed. I'm not sure why, but people seem the most impatient at a post office thinking it should only take 5 minutes or less when they're inside. All to say staff does pretty well to be level headed. Allen, is one of many staff who stand out. If I knew other employee names I would give them a shout out as well! read more

We have lived in Camarillo for more than 26 years and have used this post office exclusively for our postal needs. I love this post office. The employees are always very friendly and expeditious. Today I went to expedite a document to my mortgage company. I needed to set up a two-way priority mail process. The postal employee was so helpful and patient. He ensured that I had everything addressed correctly and also made sure that I understood the tracking process. There was a line up due to the beginning of the holiday mailing season, yet all of the front desk workers were very helpful and did everything they could to keep the lines moving. Using priority mail through the post office was much more cost effective than using a private delivery company. read more

I went to drop off packages that already had labels. I haven't stepped inside this post office in a long time, but it's a lot more empty than I remember it being. I'm not sure if COVID had anything to do with it? Anyway there were some packages outside of the collection box, so I'm not sure if it was full. I left some of my packages on top of the ones outside and hoped for the best. They still made it to where they needed to go! read more

Sometimes we get mail sometimes we do not. Packages delivered to other houses, horrible mail delivery from mail box 2 weeks out. We have horrible mail service in the Mission Oaks area I wish someone could look into this complainted and no one cares or gets back to you. read more

Staff has always been friendly and fun. Sometimes the wait times can be long, but that is only because I arrive at lunchtime or close to end of the day. We all know the US Post Office isn't what it used to be. But, the driver delivering mail to my Camarillo neighborhood is an embarrassment. I put that square on the Postmaster. Low expectations = Low achievement Ordered a package from Amazon. Our package didn't come... checked the tracking... 'attempted delivery, front door not accessible.' I though surely it was a mistake. So the next day I was blown away to see the same thing. Another 'attempted delivery, front door not accessible.' We live in a townhouse accessible from the public street! Amazon drivers have no issue opening their door, walking across 3 feet of grass, and 7 feet of cement to our front door. No moats, no dragons, no castles gates here... The reality is the delivery driver couldn't be bothered. So they entered some garbage excuse (although our regular mail was delivered as usual) and I'm expected to go pick up my package from the post office because they couldn't be bothered to leave it at my door. If the USPS can't be bothered to deliver the packages it's paid to deliver... then what does it do? How is that not a scam? read more

I love this post office. The people behind the counter are always super nice, and the dropoff (packages and mail) is super convenient.

While the mail service is not perfect, our local Camarillo Post office is really a great example of how to do things right. There is a 1 lady postal worker that works in front. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but nope! She has a sign on front of her station at reads she can not lift more than 5 lbs. She has waited on me several times. I am a new ebay seller. He is rude and acts like Im putting her out if I ask questions. I try an avoid her because she always seems to ruin my day by making me feel stupid when I ask a question. Everyone one else working there is nice and helful except her. If she worked for anyone else Im sure she would be fired. People should be friendly and smile. I have worked with the public almost all myife. If you have other options- go there instead. I upgraded to two stars because they actually have people working all the stations this Christmas rush time of year. (Did not see that in previous years.) I can tell you that in the 4 years I have lived here they have disappointed me with their services. Many times I put a hold on my mail and come home to a full mailbox. I have had mail forwarded a couple of times due to my work situation and they still delivered some personal mail to my home. Luckily I learned my lesson, and the second time I had a friend check just in case. They had to empty it 4 times. When I got home, it was crammed full again. There was personal and junk mail in the mailbox. They have also delivered mail to my address that was clearly addressed to a different person and address than mine. When I asked about missing mail sent from their P.O. I was told- "yeah that happens." When I asked how do I make sure that doesn't happen. Their response- "just hand it directly to one of us." Great- if I have lots of time to stand in line. BUT even then they lost a rent check to my landlord that has a P.O. Box at this same P.O.! How does that happen? Everyone makes mistakes. I get that and I was trying to give them the benefit of doubt. After 4 years there is no more doubt. Maybe the other reason to give them 2 stars is they are consistent if nothing else. read more

The employees have always been very nice when I've needed to go through the line! However, their parcel drop box seems to always be full/jammed. I wish they'd either empty it more often or put in a second one that we can reach after hours, which is primarily the main time I'm able to go by. Worst post office of ALL time. I have a P.O. Box here and have requested over and over that they leave me a key when I have an oversized package. Took the time to sign forms etc and they NEVER do it! I work less than one minute away and some how they are always closed early so I cant get my packages unless I come on my lunch break! It says they close at 6pm online but I have never seen them stay open passed 5:30. They will literally shut the blinds on you so you can't ask for help a minute passed 5:30. So now I'm sitting with three packages for pick up that I needed for Thanksgiving but have to wait till Friday for now. Not to mention my last box came destroyed and chewed through. They had no explanation or apology for the damages. Absolute worst customer service ever here. read more

Not only are the employees continuously claiming their lack of responsibility for any problems one might have sending mail in the same city from one address to another they also do it with their indignant attitude... Still unaware it was money that paid for the stamp and their pay check to do their inept job performance. I'm from Northern CA but I had my eBay account compromised and the person who did so used my credit card to order electronics and send them to a residence in Camarillo. I've been working with a few of the employees here to make sure the package is stopped before it gets delivered and they have been extremely friendly, competent, and courteous. They reached out to me within 5 hours of submitting a identity theft report and have been really proactive. I have no doubt everything will be resolved in a timely matter. Ugh, the Camarillo post office might be the biggest embarrassment of the city. I have had problem after problem with mail delivery. When we moved into our current house 3 years ago we found the postal worker doing donuts in his mail truck on our property. When we called in to the post office we were told, "oh, we have had problems with him in the past, but he is getting ready to retire so it won't happen much longer." Unacceptable. The carrier consistently places packages in the newspaper slot or on top at the bank of mailboxes. (As recently as today!). You can literally see the front door of our house from the mailbox. When we had packages stolen (shocker when they are right out for anyone passing by to grab), we called the local Post office. The first time I called (during business hours) no one picked up. The second time I called, someone picked up the phone and immediately hung it back up. The third time I called back, someone picked up the phone who claimed to be the "supervisor". He said he would speak to the carrier about delivering packages to the door if they cannot he placed in the boxes for delivery. A week later packages were again on top of the mail box. I have called several more times about other issues and never receive any acknowledgement of the issues. Many times packages show "delivered at xx time" or "delivered to the front door" only to receive them hours later or placed in a different location. We routinely receive our neighbors' packages and they ours. Our packages are sometimes opened. We have no idea if it's because they were delivered to the wrong person who may have accidentally opened it, or if our mail carrier has opened it. I mean, the incompetency is staggering. I have tried calling the national number and emailed to complain and I get no response. I cringe every time I see a package needs to be delivered by USPS. I have opted out of purchasing items because they say they are delivered by USPS. My complaints have gone unheeded everywhere else, so I regretfully am sharing them here. I hope someone of influence can see my comments and make corrections, or at least others can take extra precautions to safeguard their mail or packages. read more

We've lived in our house for 42 years and all of a sudden my mail is not being delivered because we take care of grand dog. Yes he barks at the mailman from behind a locked outside gate and a locked security screen door and that the dog has never gotten out is a problem. This mailman won't deliver our mail if the front door is open when my wife asked him for our mail he became rude and argumentative with her and rudely put our mail on our sidewall and left my wife just standing there. I've talked to the postmaster but nothing seems to get done I get dogs bite mail carriers but our dog has no history at all with the mail service other than barking. From the male clerks who at best grunt at you to the inexperienced lobby kiosk clerk assisting people who just walked in the door even though you have been waiting in line for 5-10 minutes.
