This post office is horrendous. First, if you live in a zip code that it services good luck with getting your packages on time. They will never get to you on time and the delivery person will always mark they cannot access your building or something similar that is a huge lie. Then when you go in to pick up the mail, all the woman at the counter are mean and look like they hate being employed. My suggestion is if you don't like working or working with people...Get another job! I'm sure there is someone that will take your place that is more capable. The postmaster is failing miserably. If you are so unlucky to have your registered or certified mail sent to this station, take the time to research who the boss is. University Station is the type of operation that gives USPS a bad name. Keywords: no punctuality (30 minute wait before they opened, full disregard for people's time,) arrogance, terrible attitude, zero courtesy, zero disregard for anyone else's day nor priorities. The "morning" crew is there to give clients a difficult time. I suppose that most people don't go to the post office because they have a choice anymore. I wanted to write a review because this wasn't what I expected. I received notice that they had a package of mine so I headed that way. Something I can appreciate here is that it's nearby, not crowded, and free parking (which is the opposite of the downtown location). They were also open when I got there just before 9am, which tells me they were more on time than my past visits to other locations. My notice tells me it's located on SMU Blvd but the entrances on SMU are closed gates. This Yelp location says Yale Blvd but the open entrance I found was on Worcola Street, which intersects SMU. I didn't find it difficult to find but the entrance wasn't near as easy as it could have been. When you walk in it doesn't look like a traditional post office either, there is a doorbell and someone answers at the window. They were very quick and friendly though. The place does look a bit run down and maybe even closed but promise, at this point in time, it's open. 8:30 to 4:30 daily. read more

I would give this zero stars if I could. The woman at the front desk actively picked a fight with us for no reason when we asked us how to bring our box up to be weighed. She then refused to help us because we had two boxes. I am disgusted that this facility would allow this behavior! The postal carriers here are a joke. First package tracking indicated delivered. Would require a key left in my locked box. Nope. Tried calling po. No one answers. Went there and spoke with them. Took my info and said would follow up with me. Nope. Went online to file a loss package. Process so confusing I gave up. Called 800 number. After multiple attempts finally got through to a human being. She only took down my information. About a week later received a generic "so sorry you are out of luck" email. Second package arrived crushed with items shattered. Third, fourth, and fifth packages arrived damaged. 2 of the 3 luckly didnt damage contents. POOR SERVICE ALL THE WAY. read more

Some of the ladies are nice and some are really grumpy who will criticize you to your face about how you should keep a pen in your purse. Lady, I don't carry a purse. Although I was just sending some padded envelopes you do not need to toss them aside like they're trash, especially after charging me $10-14 for international postage per envelope. One fell into a drawer with a flick of her wrist-wasn't sure if that's where they're supposed to end up and in order to ensure my envelope didn't get "lost," I mentioned I thought I saw one fall in the drawer. Her reply was a sassy "it's in the drawer, mam not the floor." K got it thanks for charging me $60 for this ordeal. Least you could do is be pleasant. read more

This is the worst post office ever...EVER!!! If you must to visit this location be prepared for lousy customer service and a p*ss poor, don't give a flip attitude from the employees. The USPS must have one heck of a Union, because it's mind-blowing that anyone working here still has a job given their horrible service. If you have to pick up a package or registered letter be prepared to grow old and die while waiting for someone to help you. It usually takes me 15-20 minutes to pick up a single registered letter or package. You can't pick them up at the counter. Instead, you ring the door bell multiple times and *HOPE* that someone eventually answers. Last time I picked up a package there were 3-4 folks in line. We rang the door 6(!) times with no answer. I then asked the ladies at the counter if anyone was working the door. ONLY THEN did they tell us that the girl working the door had already left for the day. This is after they literally let a line of people ring the bell for service for 5 minutes! They then told us to come through the line for our packages and registered mail. They actually "lost" a priority package that contained checks for my personal checking account. I had a email stating that they had been delivered; but the post office crew couldn't find them and no one really seemed to care. After frustrating 3 visits I went online to the USPS website and absolutely BLASTED their staff. That apparently lit a fire and they suddenly found my package on my next visit. Months later, they still know my name...LOL. It has gotten so bad that I avoid having my packages sent to my PO box when possible. If ordering from Amazon I try to have things delivered to their delivery boxes or to my house directly. read more

This location is a little out of my way but I like it because the staff is friendly and the line moves quickly. However, I haven't been here in awhile and they are now moving slower than molasses. There's one clerk working during the lunch hour and the line is out the door. The clerk is very nice but there's no sense of urgency. Not to mention, a customer cut in front of me. read more

I get something mailed to me that requires an adult signature. I work nights, so I'm home during the day and waiting for my package. I've signed up for text alerts, so I know my package is out for delivery. Do they knock on my door to get me to sign? NOPE! That's too much trouble. So they put a slip in my mailbox that says they attempted to deliver my package. So now I have to go to this place and pick it up. The lady working the package window took about 10 minutes to answer and get my slip. I realize they are busy and doing other things and helping other people so I wasn't even angry. I handed the lady my slip and she went back inside and shut the window. Up to this point, I had been the only person standing there. Some other people walk up and start ringing the bell, 10 more minutes goes by and she comes back holding my package and says who was first? The other customers and I, said I was first and she started arguing with me about how the guy that just walked up was first, even though I had been there at least 10 minutes before he walked up. Maybe he had been there earlier in the morning, but where I come from, if you get out of line for 10 minutes, you're last. She was rude and needs to polish up her customer service skills. If you can some how help it, never have your mail sent here. They 'forgot' to update my delivery status and a very expensive shipment for my wedding was 'lost' for five days. They never left a pink slip, just expected me to know that my package was at a post office 10 min away from my house. (I passed three USPS on the way here) bc they didn't leave a pink slip and I ordered with my new married name the gentlemen wouldn't let me pick up my package. Overall lovely government experience. This is THEE WORST POST OFFICE EVER. LIKE EVER. I have had 2 packages that they haven't even ATTEMPTED to deliver. Says out for delivery, and then available for pickup?!? Huh?? Did you run out of carriers or something? THEN I go to pick up said package, window opens at 8:30. I have laid on the bell intermittently until a lazy, sloppy, sagging pants worker saunters over to open it at 8:48 annoyed as if I interrupted him! Meanwhile you hear cackling and laughs galore through the mailboxes. So NO ONE IS WORKING?!? It has now 9:09 and this dude comes to tell me my package is now out for delivery?!? WHAT?!? So they DID NOT deliver. Now it's available for pickup now it's gone. Thanks TRIFLING ASS SMU post office for wasting an hour of my time. Take a cue from the Oak Lawn Post Office. Went to pick a overnight package that I have been waiting for since January 20th, it has had a week of delays, two bungled redeliveries, people that can't find it and it is now 2/20. The tracer says its in the SMU Blvd post office. Yet they can't find it and doesn't actually offer a solution. People I was inline with stated that they couldn't even get someone to answer the door the day before at 3 in the afternoon. People wonder why the postal service is going bankrupt, it's customer service like that. I am not sure why anyone,would willfully go to this office anymore. I had a good experience here. The woman who helped me was knowledgeable even if she couldn't fix my issue which was needing a key to my mail box. This is just a processing center so there aren't any services here and it's three miles away from home. The LaVista location is less than a mile but they are not my delivery servicer? Go figure. The service at LaVista would be great if they had a manager txt cared as much as the employees. We need real post offices and not these third party venders running and ruining our mail experience. read more

I waited 10 min for the employee working the service window to finish a personal call on her cell phone right in front of me. When another man in line behind me spoke up and said "m'am, we've all been waiting quite a while, can you make your personal calls later?" Yelp should consider having zero stars because giving one star to this USPS location is being overly generous. If you have to pick up a package please allow yourself to have plenty of free time to wait. On my last visit when I walked up to the door where you pick up packages, a guy was already there waiting so I asked him did he ring the bell. He looked at his watch and said yes, I did, 5 minutes ago so I stood there and waited 2-3 minutes then I rang the bell. I was standing where the counter workers could see me but they probably didn't see him. No one offered to get assistance so I went to the counter and asked could either of them let someone know that there are customers waiting for someone to get packages and it's been about 10 minutes since the gentleman rung the bell and no one has answered. The female employee told me to just keep on ringing, while the other two employees just looked. As I walked back over to the package pickup area, the gentleman who had been waiting rang the bell again and someone immediately answered. What's so frustrating about this situation is that is happens ALL..THE...TIME!!!! EVERYTIME I PICK UP A PACKAGE!!!!!! But I did notice the three RUDE women who are usually there were not that day so that is a good thing and that is an entirely different story. It honestly MYSTIFIES me why I have to go to this particular post office to pick up packages when there is literally one a couple blocks down the street on Swiss. Anyway, as per any post office, this one is lacking in most reasonable semblances of customer service. I had a package waiting for me and I called to make sure it was there at the post office and not out for delivery again. The person on the phone was rude and half the time he wasn't even listening and was just saying "yeah". I know this because I questioned him and he had to have me repeat it. Yet he said yes. Jerk. Then I went out there during lunch to pick it up. There is a chain link fence all around it which made it hard to figure out where the entrance is. After a couple of u-turns I finally found it. You walk in and it is just a window. I guess it is just a package storage/pickup location. There's a completely unfriendly worker that answers the bell and opens the window only as much as it takes to shove your package at you. I realize it is the USPS and basically who are you going to complain to but GARR this place always beats me down. AND it is only open 8:30-4:30 so if you work normal hours like everyone else, you will have to leave work to get your item. I wish people would just send everything to me via UPS. read more

Normally their workers are just monotone to customers (if you even consider people who have to come here because of undelivered packages customers), but today I just experienced the worst service! I told the woman that I wanted to pick up a package and she stared at me like she was annoyed. The USPS office at SMU Blvd Dallas Texas location is the worst I have seen. Each of the employees I spoke with at this location had an arrogant attitude. Adel at the USPS office located SMU blvd who I spoke with regarding "not receiving mail for several weeks" was arrogant and very apathetic regarding my pleas to deliver our mail..No attempt was made by USPS to actually to deliver our packages or other mail but the notices for tracking state: "Post office attempted delivery, package is undeliverable as addressed." We definitely live this address and the address has been confirmed with the post office. The USPS post office has been returning all of our mail for no reason back to the original senders. Our attorney has proof of USPS office location at SMU Blvd Dallas putting labels on the envelopes stating "the mail is undeliverable" even though it properly addressed to us. We cannot even receive our bills. Now because Adele didn't care to correct the problem now we won't even receive "the save the date" announcement for the wedding of our daughter which she sent us from from zip 75056 and after now several days it is clear this particular piece mail won't even be returned to the sender (our daughter). The USPS SMU Blvd even made sure the packages which contained my daughter's dress and wedding earrings weren't delivered this week either which we had ordered for her wedding-even though the address was correct and clear on the package. USPS at SMU decided not to send them back to the sender tracking messages for all packages state "Undeliverable as Addressed Nov-02-16, 09:54 AM, DALLAS, TX 75205" The address is even on our door and we have a mail slot in the door for the mail to be put through. So did USPS out of the SMU Blvd office not feel like delivering our mail for weeks or is their eyesight impaired and they can't read 3" size numbers/letters on our front door?????? read more

Horrible customer service and unwilling to help you. There has been two packages this last week that have been delivered here and then just so happen to not be found. When I call, they tell me someone will call me back... but no one does. When I ask to speak to a manager... they wont connect me with one. When I go to the location to get everything handled... they pushed me to the side and said they would help the other people waiting and then get to me. I waited for close to an hour because more people kept coming in that got helped, but luckily a lady that was next to be helped said that they needed to finish my process up.
