Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm; and on Saturday from 10am to 1pm. They are closed on Sundays. Services available at this location - Financial services (money orders, etc), passport, pickup services (mail hold, etc), business services, biometric services (fingerprint, in person proofing), etc. Price - Affordable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1971 (formed in Washington DC) with your $80B in revenue. Much controversy about your profitability or lack of it. This is an "independent" agency of the executive branch of our US government. You have an amazing history dating back to 1775, but I will not go into that here.

The lobby is open for PO Box access 24 hrs. a day (except Sunday). If you want that letter to Uncle Jasper picked up today, the last collection is 4:30pm (Saturday at 9:30am). It's a strange departure from all the buildings in this town. Too modern for my taste. But it is a business facility, not a touristy one. Personnel are great and it's incredibly convenient. Unfortunately, just like Silver City, they do not process US Passport applications or renewals. What I did was walk in and buy a book of stamps. This plaza is located at the southwest corner of US Route 395 and Topsy Lane, just past Clear Creek Plaza and the Carson City limit. It is technically in Douglas County, but has a Carson City postal address, as it is served by that post office. It has two entrances on US Route 395, one entrance on Topsy Lane, and a back entrance on Vista Grande Boulevard (by Costco). It is also right next to Clear Creek Plaza to the north, on Topsy Lane. This shopping center has a variety of useful and somewhat higher-end stores than the neighboring Clear Creek Plaza. The reason I'm reviewing today....lately I've had packages mis-delivered, also packages that are too large stuffed into the slot, making them difficult to get out (used to be they would bring the larger packages to the house) AND three days in a row I've requested a pick up (never failed in the past) and the packages are still sitting there. Oh, they occasionally mail things and don't rely on the Wells Fargo wagon these days. The Silver City post office is an official location of the United States government and you can perform many services, just like in the big cities. Mail letters, packages and check your PO Box, amongst others. Obviously, it's small but there are no customers. Hours are limited. They are manned from noon-4pm daily (Saturday morning 7:30-9:30; closed on Sunday). The PO Boxes are available 24 hours. It's a clean, suitable facility that can handle simple postal needs. Services like processing passport applications or renewals are not offered here. 03/21
