For nearly a week, the carrier for Desert Crest Country Club, 92241 zip code, has failed to deliver my mail. Multiple requests have been made to delivery items I know have come to the DHS post office for me, because I receive informed delivery notifications every day. The supervisor, Javier, claims to have personally handed my mail to the carrier--whose name supervisor refuses to disclose--and assured me that the following day all my mail would be delivered. No one else has tampered with my mail, as I have kept an eye out waiting for carrier, who is apparently withholding/stealing or otherwise tampering with my mail, including a copy of a deed to real estate property, my election ballot, and various other important documents, per my daily USPS informed delivery email. read more

This post office is one of the most pleasant in this state. This one is great! I'm not sure what the other people that reviewed this place are on, but the dude that usually does MLCC is great. He's always through his route at the same pace every time! The african america guy (whose name I regretfully forgot) is always on top of things. Intercepting a package worked a couple of times, which I feel like is hard to do when you're serving an expanding city. I'm grateful to them. The receptionists are pretty patient and don't make me feel bad when I inadvertently give them extra work. The lobby is kept clean and tweaker-free 99% of the time which is hard to do in this state. It's never too busy really, either. They're also open on Saturdays which is a perk to the consumers. They also have supplies available quite often. read more

I have been to this post office a few times now and have had nothing but pleasant experiences. So, I was surprised to see such terrible rating and reviews. The postal employees were very helpful and friendly. There's plenty of parking and it's easy to get in and out. You can rent mailboxes here and the inside is pretty spacious. They also have Passport services at this Post Office which is a plus! Even if the line is long it moves quickly. It's never too crowded inside either no matter the time of day. A friend who uses a wheelchair needed my assistance on Tuesday, 12/12. I was very thankful to find the parking lot almost empty, and a spot available right by the door. This location on Two Bunch Palms Road is always very clean snd well lit. There were two employees working at the counter: an older man and older woman. Even though we were in line, I expected a long wait as the customers being served seemed to have more than simple transactions ;) . Yet, our wait time was less than two minutes after getting in line. The woman employee (apologies for not noting her name) was friendly, smiling and very very patient which so helpful to my friend, who was sending packages overseas and had several questions. She explained to him the procedures for verifying the safety of each packages' contents, the weight and the appropriate $ to ship. His were not simple transactions and questions either, and she thanked him for 'his' patience. And just like that: his presented his card, given his receipt and we were on our way. I recommend the good folks at this post office. * why was this not a 5-star review? The entrance/exit is not fitted with the buttons and mechanism that automatically open them for wheelchair-access. I use this post office regularly, but only discovered this (as I was assisting someone using a chair). The DHS USPO appears to be newer rather than older. Given the demographics of our Valley residents and visitors, and as a 21st Century courtesy/respect/awareness that not everyone can reach out and pull forward a door handle, I am optimistic this can be corrected. read more

Absolutely over the mail delivers being to lazy to get out of their mail cars to put mail in the mail box. Our house will not receive mail for days on end because a car is parked BY our mail box and since they can't fit their cars in the space they drive off with my mail. This is absolutely ridiculous. This happens every week. Sometimes I don't receive my bills on time. I wonder WHY!? There has only ever been one mail man to get out his mail car and deliver everyone's mail into their mail box. If his car didn't fit in a space he got out and delivered it and would walk to the next house and do the same. It's not hard to do your job properly. Today we actually yelled out to the mail lady as she chose to drive past our house because there's a car parked by the mail box. She avoided eye contact and kept driving as if she didn't see two people in our driveway yelling towards her to stop so we can receive our mail. When will you hire people to do their jobs properly. This will also be reported to the BBB. It's been over 2 years that this has been happening. If you're too lazy to do your job properly then don't work that job. Plus the guy that's primarily there looks like he's on something reallllyyyy good. if you know what I mean. Also missing a credit card, and they hold my mail there since i can't get it in my mail box because someone has broken into it at our condos. Literally a joke. I am so beyond done with the ineptitude of USPS drivers at this location. 7 years 7 YEARS and mail is consistently delivered to the wrong addresses, I can't even say how many times I had conversations with a Markus a few years ago always putting notices for the new and temporary drivers that never seemed to ever actually change anything. Multiple neighbors and myself have gone over to complain in person with 0 results. I figured after the got rid of old management who allowed the hoarding of 2k plus packages this would all stop. But nope. Among rampant mail theft that is never addressed there is a constant "undeliverable" for our mail as if we somehow suddenly don't exist. It's beyond frustrating they never answer the phone and we have had to go get a POBOX but some packages still need to get delivered to the house since oh you know the closest PO box to sky valley is 30min one way. As usual I arrived early, and they were willing to take me a few minutes before my actual appointment time. It was quick and easy. The staff is very helpful as well. read more

This is the absolute worst USPS I've ever had to deal with. They claimed to have "attempted to deliver" my package only for my residence to be considered "vacant". I have video footage of them never attempting to deliver my package on two different occasions at the times they stated they did. I called and asked if I could pick up my package after the "first attempt" and I was told I could pick up the following morning. I went and my package was nowhere to be found. I will be trying my best to ensure my mail never gets delivered again by this carrier after this incident. read more

I took my package to this post office to be mailed. I laid it on counter. My Ebay customer never received. I then in turn refunded her money. The post office clerk apparently did not scan it. I went a couple of days later to talk to the Postmaster. I asked her to try to find my package. Her remark to me was "I'm busy!" I replied I'm busy as well. I called her boss but apparently he didn't have time to return my call. Another lady that works with him at the main plant called me. She said I will take the info and have him call you. She told me to file a claim online. Couldn't get into the account to file the claim. In the meantime, here is the phone number for lost and found packages. I called them 7 times and each time it said this mailbox is full. Her boss never called me back. It has now been two months and nothing has been resolved. Don't get me wrong the CLERKS ARE GREAT as well is the SUPERVISOR at this location, but as far as management and then on up the ladder it is pretty bleak! read more

This is one of most dishonest post offices I've ever dealt with. They feel entitled to take advantage of people who may not know the real price of postage and their attitude is ....disrespectful, rude and willing to rip people off with no accountability. Even if you mark packages, say media or book, they will still go ahead and rip you off instead of charging what postage should be. The entitled attitude needs to go.....the manager is one of the worst, and her attitude only emboldens her employees to continue to overcharge because they know you can't get your money back. Avoid this post office until they can train their employees to act respectful and be accountable for their excessive and dishonest actions. This USPS is so amazing. The postal employees there are so wonderful and helpful. I had to send my Mom a get well card (she fell and broke her arm). The postal employee got me the prettiest stamp for the card and wished my Mom well. And the card got to my Mom in record speed. She was so happy! . The facilities are nice and clean. The postal employee was so kind and was genuinely interested in my day. I'm not from this area, but was staying in the area and had to come in to purchase the stamp. I'm glad I did. Couldn't deliver package a 7pm because I live in a gated community and the guard had left. Postal Worker couldn't take the time to look at the residents directory and press my button so I could let him in. I waited the entire day for the package. Shipper should have used FedEx or UPS. Never a problem and they ring the doorbell to let me know they left a package. The Postal "Service" leaves packages and runs. The service in Desert Hot Springs sucks. They leave other residents mail in my box constantly and vice versa. read more

I have dealt with several post offices on both a personal level, as well as in my career during the many years I worked as a manger with the government. As a resident of Desert Hot Springs for 32+ years, I attest to the excellent services I have received at my home delivery, the dental office where I currently work and from the counter employees at our office on Two Bunch Palms. I have always been treated well and efficiently. While waiting to be served, I observe the level of service being given to others, and am impressed with the manner the public is treated. This includes many "snow birds" and Canadian visitors. Dealing with the public is not always easy, it requires finesse and, sometimes, extra time. I have always found the office employees to be helpful and patient ... it's always been a good experience! Special kudos go out to Misty, our mail carrier at the dental office. read more

Horrible service from the woman with short black hair! Older lady. I was 2 minutes past close & only had a question for help since I'm out of town often & could not come back next day. She absolutely would not help me with at least a question & was extremely rude. Definitely not what a government employee or any employee should act like. Whoever the manager is of this post office, they need to handle their employees properly on how to deal with customers. My mail was being delivered after 6 pm everyday,. When I submitted inquiries I received a call from DHS USPS supervisor. He was very professional and sympathetic but explained to that issues were caused by vacations and people calling out sick. Understandable, he then referred me to call the 800 #, as he couldn't do anything else. Very professional, including reps at 800# who stated the same issues, and would expedite my issue to next level and expect a call back Mon or Tuesday. Sat.morning I get a call from a Ms. Lalova , playing supervisor LYING telling me they're changing routes and it will be 2 more weeks . After 6 wks of 6pm deliveries . When I said info was different from other reps she " too bad this is it and there's nothing I can do. I asked for her name, no name. I asked her to leave issue open until Tues for 800# reply, "No, I'm closing it now. HANGS UP!. So unprofessional, EXCEPT I got her name from email. DISGRACEFUL. I WILL FILE ANY COMPLAINTS I CAN! Do not send any packages from here!!! Myself and another customer had the worse experience trying to track our package with a rude employee named Ana. She did not want to help track our packages and told us both there's nothing she can do about it! Which I knew she was just being lazy. I spoke to her supervisor Wes for help to only find out he's just as ignorant. He was loud and obnoxious. He did not want to help me track my package and gave me their telephone number to call and track. When I told him about the rude employee Ana he started to go into a rage and I told him if he didn't believe me to check their cameras to see how I was treated and the customer after me as well. He refused and slammed his door in my face. 2 of the customers told me as I was walking out that this has happened to them before at this post office and that they don't understand how they hire these kind of people. I wish I read the reviews on yelp before I used their service since I seem to not be the first person that has had these kind of issues at this post office. This is a great PO! they are always friendly. The place is clean, and when there is lines (not often) they always get more help. Also offers help for Pass Ports. They are attentive, even if you have a problem they will do what they can to come up with a solution. Much better than going to one of the bigger PO's read more

The Desert Hot Spring Post Master is refusing to return phone calls all day about this matter. I'm so tired of people bashing the postal service & their employees. Do you realize how hard they work? They have to put up with upset people coming into the office because they are are unhappy for whatever reason. The carriers have to put up with extreme temperatures in their trucks. They put up with animals attacking them and people who also have complaints. My husband was a postal carrier for over 30 years. The postal service put a roof over our heads and food on our table along with a great pension for retirement. Great, personal service of trained postal employees. The DHS location used to have the automated postage machine for after hours or if they got too busy, but that was taken out a couple of years ago. Make it 5 stars if they return the automated equipment. Rarely long lines and always shorter lines than Palm Springs. read more
