Couple things you need to know about this post office, they don't have tape, Nore for packing or for you everyday envelopes. Most envelopes have lickable adhesive or Pulla way tape that I'm sure most people should be able to figure out before you get to the post office. Passport applications are limited, there was a gender issue that was placed on the application that didn't reflect properly on the current government regime, so was not excepted by the department of state guild lines. Passport applications must be brought in completely filled out, correctly, completely, and per applicate. When printing out the application comes with 6 -8 pages of Vitale information. PLEASE READ IT!!!! all your questions will be answered. The more you inform yourself the better. Address tape and package you item before you come in. Your address on the top right where it's going bottom left. Doing this will expedite you service and get you on you way sooner. God Bless read more

Am not that person to leave reviews alot but on these issue will do... the bostonia post office mailman when they are new are always messing up with the package or mails... when they put them on wrong mailboxes... they need to doing their job better and paying more attention were they putting their mails in... it's been happening alot here on grape street in el cajon... they should gather them and let them know they messing up ... read more

Just moved to the area and this post office has very helpful staff especially the Manager. Very courteous, answered my questions directly and provided assistance quickly, 100% solved my issue. Customer service .. my daughter had appt for passport and the place didn't even have applications . The lady who helped was super rude. Her co-worker kept looking over at me not helping the other customers but just staring . We had to leave and go print the application then come back and the lady said it's still not the one we want. We asked if the have a printer or plz help us out she said no we don't have printer. There was no one else waiting for appt after us. They took such a long time to do nothing. read more

Roger Williams, the manager at this particular location was rude and very disrespectful. During my visit, there was a transaction with my debit card where I provided my pin number for a money order purchase the money order for some reason or the debit card number did not go through and yet there's a charge on my bank. I was never given a cancellation receipt. The system shut down, and as I tried to explain this to Roger Williams he tried to get loud and rude with me about it. Thankfully, my daughter was there to de-escalate the situation and request and demand that there are some type of a written correspondence regarding the transaction for today and the other postal tellers that were present even thanked my daughter for de-escalating the situation because they said that this particular manager will argue yell and become very irate and rude to customers, and he has done that on several occasions with me again, his name is Roger Williams read more

I drop off my outgoing online orders here frequently and appreciate the easy in and out parking, the self service kiosk, and counter service. I'm always greeted promptly and am always provided with any additional mailing supplies that I may need just by asking. So if you don't see Priority Mail boxes out, just ask! You don't even need to wait in line if you go to the end of counter (closest to the door to the full service area) and just grab someone in between customers since it's such a fast request. The times I have visited here the building and parking lot are always clean (no easy feat in El Cajon)! Sure it's an older building but it's one of the larger post offices so your stuff gets moving right away. Also seems like a lot of people use their mail slots as there are a lot of them. Im in mission viejo orange county so what do these clowns do, ship my package to LA, to go to Aneihem to go to santa anna to go to mission viejo vs shipping it to mission viejo. Meanwhile every day for 3 days they keep claiming its going to arive today. Its been 4 days going to take another two to get to me and it only had to travel 80 miles, I could have delivered it in an hour and 15 minutes. Why 6 days of being shipped all over socal? How many people had to drop the ball for my package to pass me by and then turn around and work its way back? It was 80 miles south of me, then 50 miles north of me. When is it going to get delivered because you claiming tomorrow now after 3 days of claiming today but it still has to go from santa ana to mission viejo so it ant getting delivered tomorrow, maybe saturday but most likely monday now. I know the USPS has lots of not so good days but, this is the station I frequent the most. There's so many individuals working with the agency it's hard to instill courtesy and customer service when jobs are assigned by seniority. But, for the most part, this station makes me smile more than frown, so I continue to do business with the Lexington office. The America's Got Talent employee with the 'voice' is the most courteous employee yet! It's like being in a Disney commercial. Where did you find him? The manager Israel will always help with your concerns without prejudice, and overall he's just really a laid back personality. And, that goes with his crew, they respect him and will work overtime for him at a simple request. That speaks volumes. I recommend asking for him to address your needs, complaints, or theft issues. And, take it from me, they're more organized than any of the surrounding offices. The rudest employee I've ever encountered with the post office, and that's in any state I've been in, hasn't been there at Lexington window in the longest, it's such a relief when I come in to see she's not there (I think that's an old song). And, that's not Jimmie! Take a deep breath if you encounter rude window clerks at any of the Post Offices, remember, it's by seniority not customer rapport. It may help you through the 'why did I come here' days. And, reviews really are a face to the place. So get typing, wether it's a not so good experience or a pleasantly positive one. Ordered a package online, USPS claimed package was delivered. It was not. Called the store, and they contacted the courier. Courier contacted me and said that "the package would be delivered today" so I am wondering why they said it was delivered in the first place? Oh and by the time I am writing this at the end of the day, the package still wasn't delivered. The courier is a liar and deserves to be fired because it is an expensive package I am waiting on. Post the damn PO Box hours, Google says closed by 5, but I got in well after, yet Saturday they're all closed up 12 sharp

My visit to this post office went well, but what I quickly noticed was that, given the budget crunches the US Postal Service, this particular office, not only needed a face lift, but a good deep cleaning, given all the dust and failing paint I noticed everywhere. At any rate, I came in to purchase a pad of for ever stamps from their self service machine (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/us-post-office-el-cajon?select=LY01HeP17wXSZ_4zEgJOxA#LY01HeP17wXSZ_4zEgJOxA) and mail of a few letters. Yes, I still use snail mail because it works, and who doesn't like reading a letter, as they hold it in their hands. Everything went well at the machine and I was out in the rather quickly. Packages constantly lost and when you try to contact them there is never a answer not even a voicemail, it simply hangs up on you. Once again I am looking for a lost package. I have never been treated badly by the staff of this location. Today however was an utter disaster. I showed up at 3 for the 3-4 pm walk-in hours for Passport Applicants only to be rudely turned down by the older lady who was processing them because we didn't show up at 2:50. These were her words. When I asked to see the supervisor, she sent another woman (heavy set) who clearly wasn't a supervisor and couldn't do anything more. She then brought out the real Supervisor (Roger Williams) to whom I explained how his staff were being rude to me, and it wasn't that they were turning me away but being rude while doing so. He responds by saying she wasn't rude, implying that I am making it up, told me to calm down, when I was calm, and told me to leave because he couldn't process the application. I will never be biding this location again. Shame on that supervisor for being so rude to me. And shame on them for lowering customer service values altogether. There are so many homeless living outside here, it doesn't feel safe at night. It's a congregation area. There's a one way street with drop off mail boxes that have reduced openings to decrease theft. The lighting is so poor out here it's just creepy. read more

This post office is Pathetic to say the least. A Supervisor called me saturday from mis delivered mail, was super unprofessional a total POS. Its called Customer service as your supposed to take care of a problem not make a excuse. This location should be shut down. Also in the past spoke with a Jennifer (or something close to that....) another total TOOL. Where does the USPS Hire these people from the 99 cent store ? I don't come here as often as I should. I am awful on checking and keeping tabs on my PO Box. But I know that every time I do come here, I'm always greeted by a friendly crazy kind-of homeless woman who hangs out front. She apparently knows everyone's business in East County. Cuz she sees me and says I hope you and your family are doing better since the fire. Maybe she is psychic? Who knows, I just know 10months later she is still there and still brings it up. I am always here after hours. It is always clean and nice inside. I like it during the summer, cuz the a/c is always cranked full blast. Having a PO Box is great! When or if I do come by and the actual office is open and I wait in line for whatever to send off, the staff are always patient, helpful and really just honest hardworking nice people. Not sure why this post office has so many negative reviews, I've been here many times and always had a good experience. All in all, it's a normal post office just like any other but what I like most is even when the post office is closed the front doors are always open so that you can get to the do-it-yourself kiosk and still print postage and get your packages out.
