Finally got their new counter clerk. This guy is amazingly helpful. He is not rushing you. Helping you understand the system of mailing. Besides their lead counter clerk these are the 2 knowledgeable, experienced people. Perfect fit to work to the frontline to give their customer service expertise. Their goal is for us to leave the facility accomplished with our mailing tasks. High five ! read more

Worst post office I've ever been to. Lady at the counter was very unhelpful and seemed to have an attitude as soon as I walked in. Wouldn't recommend coming here go to another on if you can. read more

Found this location to be a God send for a gal who was rushing to get a package mailed off near the end of the day. Easy to find, located on Gretna Bl. just after the train tracks and ample parking available. Lobby closes at 4:30, so I had plenty of time to mail my package as I arrived at 4:15. It was end of day so only a few people in line. Everything a post office should have, free post office priority boxes, packaging supplies for sale and specialty labels is what I eye-spied from my place. This seems to be the main post office for the west bank, so I can imagine it gets really busy. I had a fine experience as was happy I got the deed done. I'll be back if I'm in that neck of the woods again. read more

Let me warn you passport applicants before you head to this treacherous place!!! All their posted info is WRONG!!! The website and online says their walk-in passport hours start at 8:30 am!! My son who had to miss his morning class, his dad who had to postpone work, and my infant child who all needed to get a passport waited since 8:15 am like a few other unfortunate souls. 9:00 rolls around and the clerks say that even though online says one thing, the lady doesn't start until 9:30 am. Oh and let me tell you, there is NO posted info about their hours anywhere in the facility!! 9:50 am rolls around and we need to go!!! Keep in mind there's a Baby with a full diaper and cranky&my son who's high school is in Metairie... the clerks (after asking them SEVERAL TIMES) finally say they'll go check with the postmaster. They come back 5 minutes before 10 am and say that she won't be coming in until 11:30 am. Yes. That's even if she comes in right? I guess she's her own boss. No one answers to anyone at this place. Anywho, we go home, feed the kids and then decide to head to the courthouse in Old Gretna instead around 11:45/12 (my son is just going to have to miss a whole day now) and we just swing by just to see if she's in (we don't want to find parking and have to pay and walk and go through security with a stroller etc ) and shes there. We swing by around 12:15 and she says she's "not doing passports today." Wtf. Don't come here unless you need to. Steer clear! read more

8:56 am, and the line is to the entrance door. There is one employee assisting everyone. There are several employees in the back so why are we here waiting this long for assistance. I will never visit this location again, I assumed it would be a quick in and out being that it is early and that this location is a smaller office. #Wrong Side Note; the older Caucasian man at the register, is very helpful and he changed my mind about how I feel about this location. read more

This post office has slipped down hill in the past few years. I'm in a line 6 deep with one person working and this is all the time. Why not hire more people? This woman is ringing everyone up and fetching packages. This isn't just today- it's all the time. Very frustrating when you have things to get done. Sometimes I read a Yelp review and it reminds me that I am occasionally not the brightest dude. Despite my aversion to the post office, I have recently found myself needing the services only a post office can provide. What makes me feel dumb is that I have been trying out east bank locations when I could have been going to this location all along. Not only is it close, it is very convenient. In fact, this has been my go-to post office since 1997. I have used this post office to mail and receive greeting cards, items I've bought and sold on Ebay and even a letter or two. The full service counter is often crowded, but the line always seems to move quickly. The parking is convenient and plentiful. There is even a sign to remind you to look when backing so that you don't run over any fellow customers. If you need postal services and happen to be on the west bank, give this location a try. read more

I've been going out of my way to this post office, because they USED TO BE so nice. Went to mail some packages today, and encountered one of the rudest counter workers, Ivory -who used to be very helpful. When I asked about when the packages would arrive at their destination, she responded,"I don't know." I asked if it would be better if I sent them 2-day, she said, "Probably not, I don't know." I realize they've had a heavy mailing season, their system has been deconstructed by the new PG, but really?! I won't be going back to this location. Would rather drive across the river to the city to deal with the post office from now on. read more

This post office is really going down the tubes. I received no mail whatsoever from August 5 through the 12th of this year. I know what I SHOULD have received because I receive the emails from their 'informed delivery' system. All mail shown for those seven days was NEVER received. Made a trip to the post office TWICE as no one ever answers the phone when you call there. Was told my regular carrier was off those days??? Then again for September 3rd - the pieces of mail shown that should have been received were NEVER received by me. Made another trip to post office yesterday. Clerk took my name and number for someone to call me back - never happened. You can also submit a complaint to the post office's main website; however, there is never any feedback from them either. The whole system needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL!!! I'm ticked! read more

Delivery service is terrible this is about the third time I've had packages that said they have arrived at the post office in the wee hours of the morning but were not delivered that day. I order from amazon on a constant basis and if my packages are due on a Saturday it's a 50/50 shot if I'll even receive them on the "guaranteed" day of delivery. Many packages have been late that I needed on specific days due to their delays. At this point I'm thinking about using my work address to get better service. read more

If I could give this particular post office a 0 star I would have. Rating them a 1 star is too high! It took a month for sometime to contact me about my missing mail package. The workers handled my situation very poor. They basically told me my package was delivered, and it was not. I bet their postal workers are most likely stealing the packages. This post office need to be investigated for theft, because I'm not the only one in this area that's not receiving packages. read more

This has to be the worst managed United States Post Offices in the entire country. Our business only receives mail about every 9 days. Also, tracking info is almost always wrong. Tracking says packages have been delivered and let with someone just to find out, after much panic, that these packages are still at the post office. This has happened multiple times. read more

I always DREAD coming here to pick up a package that could've been left at my door OR my leasing office. It doesn't make any sense how time consuming it takes to help one customer. I'd give this office negative stars if it was possible. An infinite number of them. This has been the single worst post office I have EVER had the misfortune to deal with. I have lived all over this country and in other countries and never have I had to deal with such incompetence for mail and package deliveries. Filing complaints is usually a huge waste of time and a headache because nothing is ever done. This office routinely "attempts delivery" which to them means they don't even leave a notice or knock on the door. They have "delivered" several packages to me that I've never seen in my life and had to deal with the company that sent it to me and request it to be sent to a different address with a different servicing post office. I normally, for the past year, have been having packages sent to another address to avoid never receiving them but unfortunately yesterday I was supposed to have a Christmas present for that person sent to me and couldn't risk them opening it and ruining the surprise. Here's something that was NOT a surprise though...the post office failed to deliver or even attempt to deliver and I also received no notice. So now I'm just praying they don't lose my package yet again and I have to scramble to get this Christmas present redelivered somehow. Thanks for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You can't even deliver junk mail properly and that's crap I DON'T want. I understand you do not need much of an education to do your job all you need to do is follow the letter and numbers and you must not have even passed kindergarten because you cannot do that right.
