I took like 5 pairs of shoes in to Harold for repairs last month. I'd been letting them pile up and finally had to take the plunge when the heels on my Virgem Madre pumps gave up the ghost. The store is a tiny little spot in the usually-quiet shopping center here on Route 1. It's crowded with shoes and handbags of all shapes and sizes. When I dropped off my shoes, Harold was out on medical leave so I spoke with the woman covering for him who was very friendly. She said it might be a while before I get everything back due to Harold's absence but that was no problem. Today Harold called to let me know everything was ready. I've never had shoes repaired before so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but holy shit was I impressed. The quality of Harold's work is astonishing and everything has been put back to rights. Harold is an absolute delight to talk to as well, and made me laugh my ass off for most of my visit. One thing to keep in mind: Harold accepts cash or checks only. I had to scurry over to More for Less to hit up their ATM but that wasn't a big deal. I have a couple more pairs of boots that need some help....I'll definitely come back very soon!

    Fantastic workmanship!

I wanted to give a shout out and recommendation to Harold at Shoreline Shoe Repair (in the strip mall where Dad's Luncheonette is). I have a pair of old school leather cycling shoes that needed resoled and repaired for an event I'm doing next week so I took them to Harold. Not only did he perform all the work to perfection, (they look like a new pair of fancy dress shoes now) He finished them 2 days ahead of his estimated pickup date.

Wish I had pictures of these boots before Harold fixed them! My toes were coming out of the end, heels coming off, dull & scratched to death

I have so many of my grandma's vintage shoes to bring in and know that I can trust them to do a great job on every single pair. Is it expensive? Yes, a bit. But are you paying for skill? Absolutely. They're craftsmen/women and deserve it! Thank you and great job!

Whatever product they used or method they used it changed the color of the leather. It made them way darker in certain part of the boot very inconsistent. You can see in the pictures the different shades in the leather. It gives the impression that only one part of the boot was cleaned. I wish they would have giving me a quick run down of what they were going to do to the boots. Not cool walking around with half tan half brown boots. They charged $35 for this color scheme. They messed up my Thorogood boots. Not a cheap boot. I don't recommend this place. There another Cobbler in town that did my other work boots for half the price and they didn't change the color on the leather. STAY AWAY.

The Cobbler & The Tailor - Brought in my bag to have an issue w/the zipper teeth separating fixed - was told it was fixed, charged $35 - this happened one day later.

I had the pleasure of working with Jay, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to talk to. From the moment I walked in, he took the time to understand exactly how I wanted everything to fit instead of rushing through the measurements. I brought in quite the assortment too: a Filson trucker jacket, a pair of raw denim jeans, and my Red Wing Iron Rangers. He was confident in his recommendations while still making sure the final result matched what I was looking for. You can tell Jay takes pride in his craft, and that level of experience gave me a lot of confidence leaving my favorite pieces in his hands. Customer service like his is hard to come by, and it made the entire experience enjoyable. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. The total came out to around $340, which definitely caught me off guard. To his credit, Jay was kind enough to give me a discount on the jeans and only charged me $300 cash, which I really appreciated. Quality craftsmanship isn't cheap, and I understand you're paying for experience. If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and treats your clothing and footwear with care, Jay is someone I'd recommend. Just be prepared for premium pricing.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business…read more I took my shoes in for repair and they told me they would be ready the next week. Unfortunately, because they are only open during regular work hours, I wasn't able to make it on the day they said they would be ready. I came the next day at 3:30 when they supposedly close at four, but they were already closed. I came back the next week at 3:30 and again they were closed. I returned the next day on Saturday around 11 AM and again they were closed. I finally was able to pick them up three weeks later and when I arrived, I was chastised for having left my shoes there for so long despite having tried to pick them up three times already. They told that I have to come on the day they say they'll be ready for pick up which is impossible for me since I work at a 9 to 5. The WORST PART is that in addition to the difficulties of obtaining my shoes after repair, they aren't even fixed. The FIRST time I put them on the glue came undone. See photo. So now I paid $30 for nothing

Disclaimer: I didn't request shoes to be repaired but was referred here by a laundromat after they…read moresaid they could not repair my zipper on my leather motorcycle pants and recommended I look for a shoe repair shop due to leather expertise. Look, I wanted to give this store 5 stars due to the technique and skill that Victor possesses. I do not doubt his skill AT ALL and am NOT at all trouncing him craftsmanship-wise. It's just, as a business, I felt the customer service end was very lacking, hence the 3 stars. He did a wonderful job repairing the pants and it is in much better condition than before, having him even explain how the prior shop used glue which is terrible for leather. I appreciate his explanations. He will give you a ticket with a number on it, with a agreed on price written on it that you need to pay him in CASH when you pick up (more on this later). It's the customer service and experience that needs work. He originally said when I first consulted with him and dropped off the pants on April 14, that it would take time and would be done in about 3 weeks or so. I was fine with it as I was going on vacation for awhile. When I returned, I dropped by May 19 to pick it up. He just shoos me away and says that it is not ready, give him 10 days. At that time, I noticed someone else picking up her shoes from him in front of me. Her ticket number was about 200+ after mine, meaning he potentially doesn't do the orders in consecutive order. I return on June 3, 15 days afterwards, and he still says it is not ready. I did see he just started as the zipper was finally off but nothing new was sewed on. 2 days later, he calls me saying it's finished. This means my order was delayed multiple times with other orders prioritized, taking nearly 2 months to finish compared to the original promised time. Therefore, if you need an order soon, you probably need to reiterate it to him many times. Now the cash part. I did not mind it was cash or check only. However, MAKE SURE YOU BRING NEW BILLS. I had an older printed $100 that I used to pay. He has this "bill reading machine" that I'm not super clear what it is that he inserts bills into that tells him if they are real or fake. My $20s read fine but then my $100 read fake. He shouts at me "Hey, this is fake!" in a pretty rude tone. I asked him to re-read it a couple times but he insisted it was fake. Therefore, I ended up having to wait till the following week with a brand new $100, which read fine. The catch was, I deposited the $100 in a bank and the teller checked, proving it was real. My issue is not that he doesn't accept the old $100, it's more of his attitude towards the situation, which given the delay from an overpromised return multiple times, already compounded my frustration. TL;DR - Overall, Victor does excellent work just like other reviewers have said. I sincerely think his customer service demeanor can use some work, as well as having a better way in organizing his schedule or deadlines, perhaps even capping his workload, so that he does not overestimate the time he has to finish projects. Overpromising return days are also something that can be problematic. Otherwise, I do thank him for the excellent craftsmanship. Cash or check only.
