I had the WORST experience with the service provided. I visited to locate a lost package and provided my tracking number to Alvin for assistance. After reviewing it, he did not communicate next steps and instead left for 20 minutes without explanation. When he returned, he provided a form for me to fill out with my name and phone number, stating that someone would contact me. However, he was unable to let me know when and was rude when I asked if I could take a photo of the form. I understand that customer-facing roles can be demanding, but clear communication and professionalism are essential. A friend of mine waited for 15 min because she got there at 5:45 and personal was on a break 5:30-6. Yet they close at 6. Right before they closed a guy cam out and she said: 'Can I please have global stemp' he's responsible was 'No you on the phone' very rudely. She said I am not on the phone anymore, can I please buy the stamp. He responded : No you on the phone. Shut down door in her face and turn off the lights. I read the bad reviews about this location and thought to myself it can't really be this bad. It REALLY is that bad. Also, most of the complaints seem to be specific to one person who based on the reviews is the same guy I was fortunate to deal when trying to get my wife and kids passport applications submitted. Never in my life have I felt like a second class citizen until today after this experience. Unfortunately, based on other reviews here, the USPS doesn't care about the taxpayers funding them just like every other government run agency. As someone who sells items via eBay, I'm always at USPS locations throughout our city. I have locations mapped out near my college; near my job, and of course near my apartment, so I have gotten a feel of several around Chicago/Chicagoland. And all seem to have crap reviews by bitter customers for God knows what inner reason, and this location was no different as for reviews. As for this location it was my lifesaver because it was the only one open in route to my job, which made it convenient for me on a long workday. I have to say that out of the many post offices that I have visited throughout Chicago/Chicagoland this one was by far the cleanest, and classiest as far as its inner interior. I held back on sharing too many pictures because some post offices aren't too fond of it, so I'm pretty sneaky when it comes to snapping pictures. As for my experience it was positive unlike many other reviewers that have visited this location, however, I will return based off of how quickly my package arrives to its destination or if it does make it to its destination. I pulled in tonight at 7:30pm to mail some letters and all the outside mailboxes were sealed shut with tape across the drop slots. How can a United States post office shutter all its outside mail boxes? This makes it impossible for people to drop off letters and bills after daytime business hours. Very unfriendly and rude staff. There was a customer ahead of me of Middle Eastern background. He was there to apply for a passport. He was there on time for his appointment, but was told to get to the back of the line. When he got to the front of the line, they told him that he was late and he would have to come back another time. Also, I had some questions about a change of address form. We have not had a mail delivery in 4 days and the Morton Grove post office will not answer their phone, what a crap place

There are a lot of things I love about MG but the mail functionality is not one of them. 1. Our mail constantly is MIA. We often don't get mail on Friday, Saturday or Monday only to have a huge stack come Wednesday. Mind you, this is not an inclement weather issue (that's totally understandable). This happens year round. 2. Amazon & USPS packages are said to be delivered but alas, we get nothing until a day later if that. 3. I've contacted the post office and Amazon, everyone says they'll look into it but never do. I don't understand how this isn't illegal to mark packages delivered when clearly there's no attempt and must importantly, no package. I have security camera footage, my own cell phone footage of drop offs with no packages that they claimed as delivered, I have emails with basically false tracking and routinely I simply just don't get my packages so I'm out the product I purchased only to have to plead with senders to have it shipped again via UPS or another. I understand times are hard and contracts are trying to be met but dude, this is ridiculous. The post is blatantly lying and much like all government entities, no matter how loud you complain, they don't respond. I've talked to my carrier, the assistant carrier, the little dude on the truck, the post office, the post master and nothing. Honestly these are the reasons I can't support this enterprise. I give them 2 stars for a clean location and decent service at the counter but as for actual mail delivery, they leave something to be desired. read more

These type of employees should stay home or stay in the back part of the office where there is no contact with the customers. Ruins my day seeing these grumpy employees. Former mail carrier out of this office.... with that being said i can say that this post office is one of the worst to be an employee as well as a customer... first off from a customer standpoint, the clerks are rude and unprofessional, but this is not a shocker since the managers are just as bad. Clerks will leave customers waiting without acknowledging them. The way that some of the clerks talk to customers, they should've been out a job a long time ago. Their attitudes are horrible. A lot of the time there is only one clerk assisting customers, especially during peak times, so be prepared to be here a while. God forbid you ask a simple question, because they'll give a very arrogant and sarcastic response. When you call, the customer service supervisor is very aggressive and rude. She cuts you off before you even finish your question. When asked to see or speak to a manager, the lady is never around. When she is around she seems to be very unaware of anything Postal related. I would not recommend visiting this post office. Now as an employee, the manager and supervisor have no compassion or sympathy for the workers. The only concern they have is getting the mail out. Working conditions are horrible because you are constantly harassed, hounded and rushed to do your job butWhen there is a misdelivery they want to discipline you. How can you do a job effectively with this type of pressure and micromanagement?? Their is one worker here that is very expressive and in a way that is offensive, threatening, racist and sexually insensitive to not only women but to men as well. The management does nothing to enforce a safe work space for all. They just let it happen. And this person ia never disciplined. You work 7 days a week or every other week. 12-14 hour days. Dont think about taking off for being tired, overwhelmed or overworked, you'll get disciplined for that. Also dont speak your mind because the supervisor will take that as you being unprofessional and will make your work life hell. Every mail carrier assistant that has worked there in the last 9 months have quit or just never came back to work. So in other words, stay far away from this post office. read more

It's one thing to send someone away from the counter to fill out an address after they have waited in line, then make them wait again. I can understand a bit in the name of efficiency. It's another thing to sneer, say "you have to come prepared," then vaguely gesture at where labels might be. I had to ask the other customers where to find them for next time. And then for the two employees to laugh out loud at me in my face. They have no concept of inspiring trust or repeat business, since they are government employees. I've never been to this location but I will put my review on every location of the USPS. Their service is terrible. All my packages being delivered has been. When the location of the facility it's coming from takes a single day. My one package that was suppose to come yesterday has been in transit from the same facility that is 13 hours away for four days. A previous package was over a week late. It seems that majority of my packages have left a facility only to return to the that facility the same day then takes a couple more days to leave that facility. I have filed a complaint multiple times and have no received any contact from a representative. I have called many local post offices and no one will answer the phone. When I had to return an item that the sender requests to USPS, the employees at the locations I've been were extremely rude. I've called and emailed customer service and was hung up on. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS POSTAL SERVICE!!!!! My packages shipped through UPS has gotten here on time or earlier. read more

Once again! Supposedly they delivered a package to my house and we never go it!! they are so full of it! This month alone (18 days worth) they have delivered my 3 packages to my neighbor a block away!!! Our last names aren't even close!! When I spoke to the post man, he said well I was on vacation last week so it wasn't me. Honestly I don't care who delivers it, just deliver it to the right place!!!! I gave the Morton Grove Post Office with regret. The truth is that going into the facility is always a pleasant experience. Everyone is a long-term employee and provide fabulous service. However, this review is directed at the mail carriers. My mother's house was built in the 1950s and has a fairly narrow mail slot designed well before the avalanche of catalogs that take up so much space and create so much waste. Thus, oftentimes, much of the mail is left hanging out of the slot, a problem in wet weather. We've called the Post Master many times and he has never rectified the problem. Time and again we explain that there is a container on the porch a few feet away from the slot so, especially on rainy days, the carrier should simply place the mail in there. A few weeks ago when we called again the Post Master told my mother that the slots are obsolete and we should get a regular mailbox. We purchased a large mailbox and installed it right beside the old mail slot. So a week after installing it what happened when we had a very large mail delivery, with catalogs and ad papers? It was shoved in the mail slot!!!!! It was truly shocking and the height of stupidity. By the time we were able to get it all out of the slot, we had shredded and torn mail. I normally go to the Glenview post office, but had to stop by this one because it was on my way to somewhere. I never have a problem with the Glenview post office, but this one lost my book. I told them I had to send through media mail, and they said that they had to open my item to make sure. And of course, they don't put it back together properly and "lose" a book that I sold on Amazon. Not only did I lose my book and money, my buyer was furious because his textbook hadn't come in time for his class. On top of that, there's nothing that the post office will do. Never ever go to post office at the end of a month!!! There was one guy with 8 boxes, another one with 6 large envelopes, a couple sending documents over sea....only 2 windows open - out of 4. A USPS worker (looked like a top brass) came out, took a pick up slip from one customer, took care of it - and disappeared. The Indian guy told me that it was stolen ...bad neighborhood..and so on. To cut the story short, a good samaritan delivered the package to my house the following day. Hands down the rudest I have ever been treated at a post office in my life. I arrived just before they closed. Yes, it's Christmas Eve but they were definitely still open. There was no one at the counter. I could hear from the back room, "Did someone just come in? Quick! Lock the door." Followed by laughter. A surly man, Francis, came from the back and rolled his eyes like, "Are you kidding me" when I dropped off my last minute Christmas cards. I started to leave but I doubled back, and said "I'm sorry. I should have wished you a Merry Christmas. I was just very taken aback to hear people complaining. Do you think it feels great to get my cards out so late?" To which he replied, "Get a life." This post office does take you back in time.... and not in a good way. It's a tiny place to navigate around especially when there is a line. As of couple of days ago, they are doing some interior work which definitely adds to the chaos. The guy at the counter was friendly and efficient, but it was just him being efficient. Obviously, it won't be fair for me to blame them entirely for the line being long and slow. Customers often don't know what they want or what form to fill out which was probably the case. But with that said, they had only 2 counters helping customers which didn't help. I didn't see any self-service kiosks at this location (or at least I couldn't see one around). read more

It's amazing that two post offices pratically next to each other (about 1.5 miles apart) can be so different! The one in Niles stinks! But this post office in Morton Grove on Waukegan road (off of Dempster st.) is very busy, but the lines move quickly and the windows are always in service. I get very frustrated when there is a sign saying "window closed" and the employee is still working in that window, happily chatting with the worker next to her/him, oblivious to the long lines of grumbling people. This is not the case at this post office. They work hard, and if you fill a form out wrong, they show you how to do it right, ask you nicely to step away from the window, and come right back when you are done. No going back into line! They smile, and greet you warmly. They have very good "people skills!" They are effiicient, and will suggest ways to send your package/letter the best and cheapest way. read more
