I put a hold on my mail and selected the option to pickup my mail that was held. I would rather pick it up because the mailbox is small. I actually resumed the regular delivery for before I returned home. The worker I spoke to told me the day the hold ends is the same day it starts delivery... which I agree. But my request said "Customer will pick up accumulated mail at Post Office". On the FAQ is says, "Note: There is a 10 day period in which to pick up mail at the end of a USPS Hold Mail® service request. If not picked up by this deadline, it will be returned to sender. If your delivery does not resume as requested please Contact Us." I went to pickup my mail before returning home today and the mail was already delivered to the house.

I have lived in Lexington Grove now a little over a month and almost every other day I have trouble getting the key into the lock in my mailbox at the front of my neighborhood. The mailboxes look like trash as it is. They are all beat up and broken and the locks desperately need to be serviced or greased. Some of the doors are even pulled off and sitting inside the mailbox. I have had to grease up my own lock multiple times just to get the key into it to get my own mail. Given how the city of Missouri city seems to take so much pride in itself, I find it strange that the mailboxes look like utter trash. Then I have to walk out in front of a collision shop with God knows how many cars lining my street just to get my mail and grease my own lock. Not even the city of Houston is this bad. I've tried calling the post office to report this, but no one has ever answered the phone.

I've noticed that they have tried harder this year to help with the long lines during the holidays, and I do appreciate that. Also like how they've finally updated both machines, but I still have to wait in line for my international packages. There is no more separate 'delivery confirmation' in the form of green slips- it's now 'tracking' that is included in new machine-printed shipping labels. I do try my best to come prepared with everything filled out and ready to go so that, with phone in hand, the line is magically shortened by my internet addiction. Also doesn't hurt to smile.

Customers were using the post office entrance to load and unload. Today, there was a man sleeping at the entrance. Not sure if he was waiting for his mail or he was just a transient.
