I was shocked to see mail falling out of the larger blue drive through mail box and my mail fell out onto the parking lot...I then noticed it was stuffed full with mail ...I had to move my car and retrieve my mail and placed it in the seller blue mail box to the left of the large one which I have used for 35 years...I tried to call the post office as I had to get to work and let them know there is a problem...I never got anyone to answer the local branch phone. I did receive a recorded message that they were closed! It was Wednesday at 2:00 pm...they were open. I have used this number in the past with no problem. I had just mailed a loan document for a new vehicle and now wanted an answer to this issue. I had a friend go down to this post office and explain the issue, and she was told the drop box is not monitored due to thief rate...She asked why they don't put up a sign until this is addressed ? The clerk said they steal the sign. What the hell...then take the boxes away so we don't continue to put mail into them. Or weld them shut! She asked if they could empty the smaller box today as there are important documents that need to be mailed out...he would not answer! She asked several times without any answer. Customer service is so rude here. I asked a simple question and was given the rudest response by a newer woman working there. I asked if there was anywhere I could drop a package without standing in line and she pointed at a sign and said "can you see, it says drop off " and rolled her eyes at me. The manager (Isaac) of the local post office was forcing me out because he demanded proof (documentation - ID card) of my service dog. He said that my dog required a service vest. He refused to ask me the two legal questions required by law. This resulted in both of us raising our voices in front of staff and customers. He could not tell me what agency issues these identification cards. I told him that under the ADA gov vest or IDs are not required. He refused to let me speak to his supervisor stating that he was the supervisor. There's a one way entrance and exit to their parking lot, so slow down as you approach. Otherwise you'll miss the entry. You can also park in the parking lot next to it, which has 24 hour fitness, Subway sandwiches, an Italian eatery, and other stores. Rudest bunch of prudes I've ever met in the packaging industry ever! Needed some extra tape to cover a corner on my package. They were very rude about how I needed to provide my package ready to go already and that I would need to purchase tape on my own there. So I purchased the tape and when I went on to tell them that they were being rude the manager got mad at me and insisted I leave and that they don't tolerate that type of behavior. I've never met two people that were more rude than the two clerks there today! Honestly I felt like they were basing things off the color of my skin because I did nothing wrong to receive such treatment. A bit weird to be writing a review for a non business, and a government agency at that, but I felt that this message needed emphasis: WE APPRECIATE AND LOVE OUR US POST OFFICES!! I've been by my local post office more times this year than I have my entire life. During the pandemic, simple things like writing letters to friends and mailing gifts seem like safer options than resorting to any in-person contact. The post office taken many safety measures (plexiglass dividers, employees wearing masks and gloves, and 6 feet floor markers for the line) which have made me feel more at ease if I have to step inside to drop off a package (otherwise I just drop off in the collection boxes). Also, the service is great here! I'm always greeted by friendly postal office employees and the lines move pretty fast. Usually someone will go down the line and ask what we're here for to speed up the process. One time, my package was missing and I tracked it to my local postal office and they were super helpful in locating it for me and, and on top of that, sent it to my house the same day!! I went here today to buy international stamps. There were two clerks. The man who helped me was great and answered all my questions, being mindful of the other customers and me. If you want to wait 30-45 min to mail out a package then this is your place! Incredibly slow and no one seems to care, the workers never re stock any of the supplies stations and then give you attitude when you ask for a box from behind the counter. Then they make you wait in a 30-45 min line just to get the box because they can't seem to do their job and refill the stations (claiming they're understaffed) but the supplies stations has constantly been empty for weeks on end now. 12/21/22 11:54AM I've just had the worst encounter possible in my life at the post office... and her name is Glena. The other two gentlemen behind the counter seemed so pleasant and happy. I was trying to renew my state board license and came in with the check filled out along with the paper work that was needed to be attached. I came to the counter wanting to have my mail delivered as fast as possible. I was expecting her to ask me like the other conversations I overheard with the other coworkers of "how fast do you want this delivered?" Instead, she gave me a simple response of, "You need to have this all filled out and prepared before you come to the counter." I didn't take it as attitude or condescending at first because I needed help and didn't know what I was doing. I was trying to see it from her side especially it being really busy, so I was empathetic towards her. I filled out the paperwork as she requested and waited back in line. After she was done, she couldn't find my zip code to the address I wanted it mailed to, and I realized that it was my fault. I flipped the second two numbers around, and I apologized after catching my mistake. Her response, "That's a completely different number. You need to have this done beforehand and CORRECTLY." Again, I'm just ignoring her comments because I just wanted to get it over with. She was the one who forced me to seal up all the contents before I could double check my address, but AGAIN, I was trying to just get in and out of the post office. As she's going through the transaction, I asked, "When will the mail be delivered by?" Glena's response, "It'll say on the receipt." I don't know what that means but okay... So, I pay for the transaction, and the receipt prints out. Glena, "It'll be ready by Thursday." Me, "I'm sorry but I need it a lot faster." Glena, "That's going to be $27." She says it in a way to convince me to not return it as if it's too much money?? Me, "That's fine." Glena, "I'm going to have to return it." Me, "Okay, that's fine." Glena,"Why didn't you tell me before?" Me,"That's why I didn't have any envelope because I was hoping you could help me with that, but you just grabbed the envelope and told me to fill out the sender address." Glena, "I gave you the envelope though. You should have said I wanted it faster." Me, "I just followed your instructions...You didn't ask me anything???" No response. She starts processing the return and works on the new transaction. She starts telling me to press a button on the keypad that doesn't exist because it's asking me to punch in my number. I tell her it doesn't exist, and she's trying to correct me. More awkwardness passes by, and then she bypasses the part where it says my name (usually people will tell you to confirm if everything is correct on the screen). I noticed that my name was spelled wrong, so I tell her. AGAIN, this is to renew my state license so a) I need everything to be accurate b) I need everything to be freaking accurate. She responds, "That's not a D. That's a B." Me, "It's a D as in David." Glena, "You need to write better. Fix your D. That's not a D. " I am livid at this moment in time so I respond back, "Do you tell a doctor to fix their handwriting too?" No response, then she responds a few seconds later, "You don't write prescriptions." ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! What is wrong with you? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and just wanted to cause misery to everyone around you??? GLENA, please stop working if you hate your life. This is not directed at the Post Office, however towards mail carrier driving #2200738 delivering to Pacific Shores at 6:15 pm. He was delivering in our complex and was throwing packages and yelling. He seemed very angry and was slamming doors and yelling. He was not our regular mail carrier. He was scaring residents away from getting their mail. I understand this is a difficult time, however he was quite frightening. He was not a good representative of the USPS. read more

My wife and I had a very bad experience while trying to mail a small package of Christmas gifts and goodies (pogy bait and gedunk) via PRIORITY US MAIL to our Grandson who is stationed at THE MARINE CORPS AIR FACILITY AT NEW RIVER NORTH CAROLINA which is much to the chagrin of the USPS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Due to the COVID-19 paranoia, our Grandson hasn't been able to take any leave since shipping out to bootcamp at MCRD SD in late February of 2020. Since his quarantined graduation he completed his SOI and two schools located at NAVAL AIR STATIONS (NAS) Pensacola and NAS Oceana! He finally was assigned and arrived at his first duty station at NEW RIVER (McCutcheon field), in N.C. At each of his schools and final posting he'd be quarantined for two weeks, confined to his barracks due to the Covid paranoia. Now comes the holiday season. We had prepared a nice package of gifts and Christmas treats and had addressed the package to the exact address we've been sending letters and other packages via FEDEX and UPS. The USPS EMPLOYEES/ attendants at the ATLANTA SATELLITE OFFICE would not accept our package as they claimed the address as we'd written it was incorrect because it didn't have an (ARMY POST OFFICE (APO) included in the address. Mind you our Grandson isn't in the ARMY nor is he stationed at an ARMY facility nor is he stationed at an overseas post outside of the CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES (CONUS) I'll inform the reader that the holiday line of customers, a very long line of patrons extended outside of the building and it was drizzling. It took more than a half of an hour to reach the counter only to be denied service due to the USPS employees intransigent behavior and error. After consulting with the other employee, they both compounded the error by agreeing with each other even though we insisted that the address we'd addressed the package to was absolutely correct as it had been used successfully in the past. The address was: PFC (Name Here) MALS XX MAG XX PCS BOX 21021 MCAS NEW RIVER Jacksonville NC 28545 United States of America *note APO's are used to ship or mail letters and packaged to troops in the ARMY which is MILITARY but NOT THE MARINE CORPS! Unbelievable that the USPS counter CLERKS WOULD NOT ACCEPT OUR PACKAGE as addressed. No amount of common sense or logic would sway these bureaucrats! Now because there were dozens of other people waiting in the very long line we saw the futility of reasoning with dolts so we left and took our package to the nearby AIM store and mailed it USPS from there. Using AIM is fine but in doing that, it cost an extra $8.00 to use their service for the same mailing. Our Marine got his package just fine in the end but now I have a bad taste in my mouth when we recall how inept and stubborn the two male employees were and their lack of knowledge and business acumen. These are the not applicable regulations for sending USPS mail overseas: The Department of Defense (DoD) has requested that those who send mail use the service member's full name (with or without grade, rank, etc.), or a specific title (e.g., Commanding Officer, Supply Officer, etc.). Also required is the unit designation and APO/FPO (Air/Army Post Office™ or Fleet Post Office location) information with the nine-digit ZIP Code™ number (if one is assigned) and a return street name/number, city, state, and ZIP Code. Now mind you, the UNITED MARINE CORPS is part of the US NAVY and if we were sending something overseas, we would use a FLEET POST OFFICE (FPO) address ! In light of that, I would like to inform the people at USPS that NORTH CAROLINA although a couple of thousand miles away from the POST OFFICE in Huntington Beach is NOT in nor had it ever been located in a foreign country! She is extremely mean and cussed at me and also sent my mail to the wrong address. She really is lowering the standards of this mail center and should not be employed or in aCustomer service job. When I had an issue with the package that said it was delivered into one of our apartment lock boxes but it wasn't actually there I notified the postal service the local one that services are mail down on Atlanta and I got a call back from a woman and I explained that I believed it was in the wrong box so she contacted the postal carrier who did look inside and find the right package and put it into the correct place with the key and I was able to get my order. If you plan on renting a PO Box, do so with caution. It's been 3 months of renting from this location, and it's been nothing but a headache. First off, I went in to fill in the customer agreement and it took forever just to activate the services I paid for. Second, the lock didn't even work and after multiple promises and changeovers, I'm still left with a nonfunctional PO Box that is left unlocked and ajar. I have always had good experiences with this post office staff. Last year, I had to cancel my apartment overseas due to covid restrictions. Staff was very patient and explained how to do the package and filled out the customs form ( mailing back the keys and card keys etc.). My friend received everything within 10 days... very happy with the service. Today we went in to mail our passports renewal package. The gentleman was polite and helpful. We left to drop off stuff next door.
