In 2024, I experienced multiple mail theft and package tampering with this office. The lady at the office tried to make me blame our mailman but I refused only to find out that she still went blamed our mailman. After that incident/complaint, all was well until March 2026 when someone in this post office stole my cosmetic and tampered with my cosmetic packages back to back. When I complained this time, they again led me to think that our mailmen were to blame. It's an awful feeling to wonder or think that your trusted mailmen are to blame. We are very good hardworking honest people. I myself have helped so many others in my life tirelessly with nothing to gain. I have never stolen from anyone or been dishonest causing harm to anyone. We don't deserve to be bullied/threatened, retaliated against, and stolen from. Since daring to complain and accuse them of stealing my cosmetics (sunscreen), my entire family has now been personally targeted where every important financial personal sensitive mail has gone missing for the past one month. We never had this level of scary problem before in our entire lives and we are very long time residents (my 2024 mail theft was 2 Lexisnexis letters, 4 Bath and Body coupons with monetary value, and one cosmetic package tampering but nothing worth stealing). We checked with our neighbors and it is only us that someone who is sorting mail inside this post office is doing to us. I know because important mail still goes missing when 2 different mailman deliver. We have security cameras and know every mailman delivering. To date, we are missing 11 pieces of important personal assets, property and tax bills, water bills, bank statements, etc for a month now since my first complaint of theft since March 31, 2026. Only all the most important mail goes missing immediately after I dared complained a month ago that my sunscreen was stolen. If I had known that vocally complaining about sunscreen theft would result in personal targeted retaliation of a much more disturbing frightening nature that all of our most important time urgent mail goes missing, I would have shut up and let myself be stolen from. I don't need to buy online and can go without. However stealing critical mail is something that I can't prevent or do anything about. They are only targeting our family and none of our neighbors out of revenge. I feel sorry for my other family members because they had nothing to do with me making my decision to complain about my own package theft and got dragged into this nightmare traumatizing situation of mine. read more

Man did I get in quick and get out quick. Good thing I was visiting from out of town, they didn't have any bias from me.maybe others have had bad experiences, I did not. Parking seems hard if you want on street like I did. It was a rainy day but I found a spot right in front and was able to make the quick dash through the raindrops. Another horrible episode with the Lexington PO. No mail delivery for two days. Called the PO. Asked if my regular guy Carlos was working this week. I wanted the flyers that come every week, even if I don't have any other mail (which is highly unlikely). The foreign woman who answered (Asian) said to hold on, she would check, call Carlos on his cell, and let me know. She never came to the line, and then the line started going into that beeping tone. I hung up, called back, and since I am certain they saw it was me calling, they just let the line ring and ring and ring, never answered. No service from this PO. It's the same old, same old....I never use this PO with exception of having to go in occasionally to put my mail on hold. The Bedford MA PO is much more efficient, offering very good customer service. read more

This has got to be one of the most poorly run most disorganized post offices I have ever seen. The place is small and the line of customers stretched out the door and still they had only two employees ringing up customers. Now throw in the worst customer service probably in this well known city and you have a real joyous vist. The guy helping me was basically treating me like garbage and like I was doing him a favor all while moaning to his coworker how he should of called in sick today. He tossed my package around and threw my credit card back at me. He never asked me anything about how I wanted it shipped or services. What a complete jerkoff! No wonder there are so many issues with the post office employees and anger management. in this day and age of email and Fedex you think they would improve customer relations. I never thought I'd write a review about a post office, but after the terrible customer service I just underwent, I felt compelled to do just that. While I have received good service from this place at least once or twice in the past, those times were sadly the exception to the rule: the rule being that the workers there are generally A**HOLES. Today I was returning a box to a company for my husband today (he accidentally ordered two gift spa kits as a Christmas gift for someone), and when Post Office Lady (POL) told me the price ($18.67), I asked her if there was a cheaper option. Without pausing or even a hint of a smile, she said, "$18.67." Now, I'll admit I have a temper, so it's beyond me how I got through the rest of a transaction without saying anything equally rude to her. But rest assured, I will never, ever visit that post office again so as not to come across the likes of POL. Manners, people! read more

My husband and I made an appointment to file the necessary paperwork for our minor daughter's passport. Their passport application agent hurried us through the process, which felt uncomfortable. Two weeks later, we received a letter from the National Passport Center that the paperwork wasn't filed properly. After many phone calls with the NPC, we've learned that we have to make another appointment with the post office and go through this process again to rectify their error. I don't even know if we'll receive my daughter's passport on time now without having to pay extra fees. My husband will need to take time off from work again as well. This has all been very time consuming and inconvenient. I'm thankful I won't have to use the Lexington post office again after this wraps up. read more

I actually had a pleasant experience at this PO. I'm a little picky when it comes to post offices, since I spend more time here than most people do, but this one was really nice. I love when the post offices are in creaky but pretty old buildings (like this one and the one in Arlington Center), and I love it even more when the service is good and the people are competent. The man who helped me ship my Priority box was friendly and had a smile on his face... Yes! That's all I ask for! The only "semi-gripe" I have is that parking isn't so easy around here, what with the construction, etc. But the nice thing about Lexington is that a quarter apparently buys you an HOUR on the street. Score! :-) I guess I can do more PO runs during lunch. read more

SO I have had two experiences with this Post Office, just moved here three weeks ago. The first EXCELLENT and the second the reason for this post! Just before Christmas I mailed a package and could not believe the efficiency of the lone guy at the front desk. Today all I need to do is drop off a prestamped letter. I scoped the place with GOOGLE maps satelite view looking for a drop off box, didn't find one. Thought I would park in the back, look for a box and/or make a quick run inside. This guy "goes postal" on me, repeatedly threatening to have me towed. Now I'm sure they have parking issues, who doesn't in eastern MA. He would not listen to my question. But I persisted and got the information I needed. So on balance at this point they are two stars. FYI the circle drive in front of the city building and Cary Hall has a drop off mailbox positioned for the drivers side window. read more

This post office has received numerous low marks for years...when will the USPS take note? Maybe when I leave feedback for them next! Long story short, I am a Lexington resident who went in to retrieve a registered package. Well what do you know, they lost it! No apologies, same negative attitude that everyone describes on line. I was there for 1 hour. Yep, you read that right, 1 hour, while the incompetents tried to look for it to no avail. Didn't get lost in Hong Kong, didn't get lost in New York, just here in the good ol' US of A. This branch is the absolute worst! If I had a choice I would go to Bedford, MA, where they are SUPER nice and competent. I can understand people having a bad day, but this is just badly run business....and nobody apparently has the Kahones to address it.... A shameful ambassador of the USPS this branch is...avoid at all costs! read more

If there was an option for zero stars I would give it. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE service. They don't seem to ever have enough people at the front. They work at a snail's pace, more interested in making small talk amongst themselves. Make sure you put enough coins in that parking meter! Most of them have been there for a long time, it seems like they have lifetime tenure now. It doesn't appear any of them care about performance or serving customers because it will not impact their jobs. All the negative stereotypes you hear about the USPS and Unions appear to be true at this branch. AVOID this USPS location. Try the Burlington MA location if you can, they are much faster and customer friendly. If the USPS could replace the entire team at the Lexington location with a more customer friendly and efficient team, they should. ASAP! read more

Very rude, incompetent and discriminatory. Went there to renew my son's passport and got horrible treatment. That guy didn't want to do his job and rushed us on everything. The picture turned out horribly and when request retaken, he said it's perfect and if I didn't like it can go somewhere else. Then he dropped our paperworks and left. read more

A five star facility with five star postal workers. Loses a star because its not open on weekends. The way a post office should be with staff that know your name, go the extra yard, and deal with the long lines of customers who dont want to fight the parking hassle of the main branch in Arlington Center. What ever 'going postal' means, the regular staff there is the opposite -- as long as you dont delay the line of customers by fumbling for your money or ask if you can send food to Bolivia. etc. You cant get a passport application here anymore, but for a tiny facility, you can get good service, accurate information, and if you are elderly, a patient and kind response to your needs. read more

Mike picked up my call this AM and was able to help me not only find the package, but retrieve it after it had already been delivered (to the wrong address) yesterday, and get it sent to my home address. Very unpleasant experience at this Post Office...went to apply for a new passport and after completing the necessary forms, my girlfriend simply asks a question about part of them and before she can finish the postal employee snaps "WHO ARE YOU?" This caught us off guard and after she explains she's my girlfriend he continues to act unfriendly and speak in a hostile and patronizing manner to both of us. Not sure how we offended him and maybe the guy has a rough life at home or outside the workplace, but we all have jobs, a bad day is no excuse to snap at customers especially perfectly polite ones. I will go farther away from my house to simply avoid ever using this post office again. Ridiculous that government employees act so rudely and with such a lack of respect. I recommend anyone avoid this post office, there are plenty and they likely all have nicer employees than this one! read more

It's one week before Christmas and at 8:45am there was only one person working the counter. This is not unusual. This post office seems to thrive on slow and grumpy service. I avoid it at all costs and usually go to Bedford whenever possible where the folks are friendly and quick. read more

There is a thunderstorm in Lexington today, the mailman just let our mails spread out in front of our door and they got extremely wet. We have a small mailbox, one of the mailmen consistently puts them behind our storm door, which we appreciate (as it had been done for almost 20 years before the other great guy retired). Sometimes the mail was left outside our garage in order to save a few steps and we put up with it when it is not raining. But letting customers' mails soak in a thunderstorm? read more

Mixed experiences, depending who is on duty. Avoid going to the Lexington post office in the morning when there are typically two people behind the counter, one of whom is extraordinarily, seriously, amazingly, unbelievably slow. When he is on duty, it's worth leaving and coming back another day. Saturdays and afternoons and are better and the people on staff in the afternoons are really helpful. (Oh yeah. There is one person -- usually on duty mornings -- who can be pretty hostile. I saw him berate, for no reason, a young man who had come in to renew a passport. No idea what was triggered, but it was pretty ugly.) read more

I live in Lexington for 35 years, most of my adult life, and I hate our post office. This is going on for years: it always had long lines, of course, but what really makes a visit there so unpleasant is the PEOPLE who work there. They don't care about customers, they don't try to make it easier for you, they are often rude and unpleasant. They have endless supply of rules and regulations you never heard of, to turn a simple task of mailing into a problem. This happened to me a countless number of times. Did you know, that if your box has a wine bottle outline printed on it, you cannot use it for shipping? I didn't. It is especially hard to send a package back, if you got it by error. They usually don't want to take it and make it very difficult for you: you didn't return it right away, it is ripped and on, and on... And every time I run into a shipping problem in Lexington, I go straight to Arlington Heights office less than 3 mi away, on the same street. And magic - all problems instantly disappear: parcels accepted, re-packaging is not required, etc. and NO LINES, ever! Thanks god, it was not shut down as planned. read more
