I am so disappointed with the telephone service for this office as well, I called to find out what happened to my letter from Los Angeles Unified School District that I was supposed to get this past Wednesday, the person that answered the phoned recommended that I have the school district certified their mail so that it does not get lost, can you imagine this answer instead of being more responsible with their carriers in handling the mail. Rude and not helpful at all, my letter is still missing and I don't know how to claim it, I am waiting for job information and assignments and now I don't know if that letter had that information because the district has so many employees that it is hard to find out. How can one rely on these mail carriers when they are not responsible, many times they have left me mail for another person and I have driven to their address to give it to them. AaaaahhhHHHHHaaaAAAAAHHHHHH. I hate, hate, HATE this stupid post office. Hate with the fires of a thousand suns. The only reason I keep coming here is because they have a self-service kiosk. Can put my package together, do my own shipping label and get out without having to deal with any of the horrible, rude, LAZY postal workers. The less you have to interact with them, the better. Every year, I send a few packages to my mom. One for her birthday and one for Christmas. It can be really expensive since she lives in Maui. But the post office Priority Mail flat rate is a great deal. The trade off is dealing with surly post office workers. Was putting together mom's Christmas package and needed tape. Some locations keep a roll of tape out. Of course they can't do that here, since people are super ghetto and steal all the supplies if they leave them out. I asked a woman behind the counter if I could use her tape. She mumbled something. I had no idea what she said, but the gist of it was she couldn't let me borrow her tape. Um, what? I've been in there a million times and they always let you borrow the tape. She told me to wait until she finished with her customer. She stepped away and came back with a full roll of tape. She held it up and said, 'It's $4.' I said 'No thanks, don't need to buy tape. Just need to borrow it to seal my Priority Mail package.' She said they can't give out the tape and that I needed to buy it. No way in hell I was buying a roll of tape. So I started begging and kissing her ass. Told her mom's package was already late. And I didn't have money to spend on a whole roll, etc. She finally gave in and said okay. I know she didn't want to, but she just wanted me to go away. Great customer service, USPS. I should admit I'm post office illiterate. Anytime I have to go to the post office, I'm always confused about which stickers go on which envelopes (i.e. I'm sending something priority, and there's a table full of address mailers and I'm never sure which one I'm supposed to use). This place has been hit or miss for me. Ever since moving over to the West Side, I've used this post office (for convenience, really) as my local Post Office. And when I say "hit or miss" it means you're generally at the mercy of the mood of the attendant behind the glass. Now, because of my faulty knowledge of posting articles (basically inept of anything that doesn't require normal postage) I've made my way all the way to the front with having filled out the wrong mailers. The first few times I've been to this location, I got almost chewed out, and was made to feel like a complete idiot. I was prompted to wallow back to the very end of the line, wait all over again and fill out the correct form. The line was long that day, I said F it and went home...I'll post on another day. On the flip side, I saw the best random act of kindness here on a busy afternoon. Someone in line was one stamp short, and as he made his way to the front he said "Would anyone be kind enough to allow me to buy a stamp from them?" Almost everyone reached in their pockets or purses to produce a stamp. One gentleman walked up to him with an entire book of stamps and said, "It's on me." Gave him the whole book and left. Everyone in line was stunned, even including the hard-nosed employees. Yesterday I had to post something yet again, and I'm always apprehensive coming here since now I have to send something overnight and I have no idea which kind of mailers go on my envelope. I grabbed four different kinds and filled them all out, just in case. I get to the front and the woman actually took the time to explain to me which mailers and address forms were correct. All with a smile. I dread the Post Office, the lines, and the waiting...But that made for a positive experience for me. Hopefully my future treks to this Post Office will be similar, if not better. I wish the Postmaster General could come to this location to see how poorly this outpost is run. They are perpetually out of supplies, there is constant arguing and cursing, and there is typically only one teller "assisting" customers while hoards of frustrated citizens queue up, growing angry with each inefficient minute. I have no political ax to grind but this is truly a governmental service at its absolute worst. This makes all Federal employees look bad. Shame on whoever oversees this location. The only redeeming feature of this post office is that they're open on Saturdays. I went today to ship some flat rate boxes, but given the attitudes of the clerks, I used the machine. Probably the best decision because when I went inside the main area to drop off the packages in the large double glass door, the clerk closest to the package drop off was being very sarcastic and rude to the customer she was helping. The man appeared to have a slight language barrier, but she just kept asking sarcastic questions when he was asking about his shipment options. Highly inappropriate. Also, the door for the package drop off was open on the clerk's side, so while she's being a jerk to the other customer, I'm standing there, unable to open to door and turn in my packages. Very unhelpful location with complete disregard of people's time. I asked the greeter what I would need to mail my packages - and he told me to just write on the side of the box the address. When I got through the line I was told that I had to put a label and go back through the line. Also they told me that only drug dealers and terrorists send boxes sealed in Duct tape. To remove it and they sell me other kind of tape. Would have been useful to know when I asked originally about shipping the boxes and before I waited in line. Also, there should never be 10 people in line with two window cashiers. Understaffed and those who are there - could literally give a fuck. Edit 4/9/16: Visit more like 3-4 times a week now, often with complicated mailing projects and/or small children in tow. Still have never been treated rudely even once. I feel the need to write a review just because I'm so shocked by the number of bad reviews of a place I visit 2 or more times a week and have never had a single problem. Quite the opposite, in fact. I have always been impressed by how incredibly kind, sociable, and helpful all of the employees are. If the line is long, someone always appears to make sure that everyone actually needs to be there and there's no faster way to help anyone. I've been pulled out of line and kindly shown a faster way several times when I was near the end and had something very quick & simple to take care of that I didn't really need a postal clerk for. Literally my only complaint is the length of the lines at peak times, and this is just a matter of the USPS probably not being able to afford to pay more employees. Also, another reason the line might move a little slowly is that when you get up to the window the person actually talks to you, makes sure you understand what's happening and that you don't need anything else, instead of rushing you through as though you don't matter. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling this may be a "you get back what you give" kind of situation. The only rude people I've ever seen in this place are a few of the customers. I've had to go to their post office personally TWICE (and I'll probably have to go back a third time if NOT MORE) to tell them to stop forwarding my mail back to the sender because I DID NOT MOVE! I made an appointment over a month ago to get my child's passport processed at this location. We finally had our appointment yesterday and SURPRISE - NO ONE WAS THERE. Apparently the person who was processing passports was on her LUNCH BREAK (and according to the customer service advocate, Jennifer, I should be sympathetic of this fact!) and wouldn't be back for 30 mins to 1 hour! I decided to take my child back to our car and wait in the parking lot and came back after 30 minutes. I asked the employee with short blond curly hair (not her natural color), if the woman had returned yet and she snapped "SHES NOT BACK MAAM. SHE WILL BE AT THE WINDOW WHEN SHE RETURNS!!!" Uhhhh?! Why the attitude? She is LATE for MY APPOINTMENT! I should have been pissed off from the beginning but I remained calm, though my blood did begin to boil when curly hair wigged out on me. I'm standing there, sifting through all my documents and realize one looks iffy and when passport helper, RUBY, decides she's done with her lunch and crawls back to the window - I politely ask her if this document is acceptable as is. She says it's not and that I need to fill it out again. I told her that I started to, but there are no black pens available for use on the counter (TIP: passport applications have to be in black ink! Because, I don't know.) She was looking annoyed that I didnt have my own pen to use and that I'm not a walking Office Depot. So she has to....OMG, FIND ONE! But as I'm standing there, SHES BITCHING TO HER COWORKERS ABOUT HOW "IM NOT EVEN READY AND OMG SHE COULD HAVE JUST ASKED US FOR A PEN SHE WAS WAITING THE WHOLE TIME AND SHES COMPLAINING YOURE LATE FOR HER APPOINTMENT OMG OMG OMG." *NOW I get why there is a clear plexiglass partition and a big red sign on the door that says violence against a post workers results in 25 years in jail.* So At this point, I'm at like a 10 on a scale of 1-5 (5 being I'm going to lose my shit and this is going viral). But I bite my tongue and keep my Tourette's in check and continue with this agonizing process and try to envision me with my family in a tropical place - after we endure the pain of getting this passport! Long story short, I had to GO BACK HOME and get an ORIGINAL COPY OF A BIRTH CERTIFICATE and they would not accept my check because it didn't have my address on it!!!! This is apparently an unspoken rule about checks at the post office and through passport agency. So I am fully expecting my documents to be returned and reprocessed after I submit a MONEY ORDER, which completely makes this whole trip a waste of time and effort. Thanks for the clear instructions passport agency and USPS! I received a call from this location - (after trying to navigate the customer service line for USPS to speak to live human being and filing a complaint) which was annoying and I was hung up on TWICE by the "customer service advocate" Jennifer, who made it very clear she does not take sides and allegedly gave a verbal warning to RUBY...But I really think she gave her a high five and raise. I feel like this post office doesn't even deserve a star. I've been there twice and both encounters where terrible. First- I arrived at 4:30 and everything was locked up. On Yelp the hours advise they are open until 6pm. There was a note on the door that stated the new hours are 5:00pm closing time. There was a lady sitting being the window on her phone, just looking at me... not sure what was going on there. Second- I came to the post office at 3:30. I stood in line to ask if they could locate my lost package. They told me to go to the blue door and ring the bell. So I did. There was a lady name Barbra. She opened the door and asked me what I needed. I told her my package has been lost and asked if she could assist me in finding it. She rolled her eyes and said " Jesus Christ" asked me to write down my tracking number and my address. After sitting there for 40 minutes she comes out and was so worried about locking the doors at 4:30 so no other customers could get in. She told me to ring the door bell again and someone will help me. So I did. A grumpy old man answered the door, I asked for help, he slammed the door in my face and never came back. Finally Barbara was done locking people out. She went to the back for several minutes came back at 5:30 just to lie to me that the post man put my huge box in my mail slot today. I insisted the box wouldn't have fit and he was lying. Which, I came home to no surprise, the box wasn't there. read more

I'm actually personally offended by the review from Rebekah M. who said the fact that there are so many 1 stars must be indicative of the customers and not the employees. Again, I come here 3-4 times a week and there is ALWAYS a problem. Let me give you two examples of this place: 1) I came in one day and the very tall, extremely aggressive manager was standing at the kiosk. I didn't recognize him at first, I thought he was a customer so I politely stood behind him in line. Mind you, I'm 5'0 tall and he is well over 6'1 and I was behind him so I had no idea who he was or what he was doing. Once I realized he was the manager and that he was fixing the machine, I said to myself, "oh! It's not working." Not a question, a statement, to myself, like "oh I'm so silly for not realizing it." He half cocks his head and says, "Can't you see it's not working. You standing here for your health." Are you kidding me? Why be so nasty? I didn't curse him out, I didn't say anything inflammatory, I didn't accuse him of anything. In fact, I wasn't speaking to him AT ALL. 2) I have consistently scheduled package pick up on USPS.com. You know the commercials where they advertise this service. I have tried every method known to man to get someone to come and pick up my packages. In fact, I went in with print outs of schedule confirmations, I was polite and asked to speak to someone, no one was available so I left my contact information on the print out. The next day, someone left a copy of the print out with a handwritten message that said "you need to schedule these pick ups ahead of time". I SCHEDULE THESE WELL OVER 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE AND NO ONE COMES. I've even left packages out for 48 hours with A NOTE and there they sit. I finally call the office and a new manager picks up. Do you know what she said to me? "What is wrong with this branch? I have been here two days and have never seen so many mistakes and complaints. No one should ever leave handwritten notes in your mailbox let alone with wrong information." I have never raised my voice, given attitude, or done anything to justify this mistreatment. The new management team can't even believe how bad this branch is. So please Rebekah M. don't tell us that every negative review comes from belligerent customers who deserve poor treatment. That being said, I have seen VAST improvements in this location with the new management. People are helpful, they're kind, they're courteous and way more efficient. They're always stocked with supplies, boxes, and slips. I'm still too scared to schedule package pick ups, but maybe I'll give them a try soon. read more

I do not feel safe coming to this post office after what happened to me yesterday. Please don't go here. I came in to inquire about what to do with the previous tenants' mail that is still delivered to my address. I have written "Not at this address" on all pieces of mail, and have sent all mail back through USPS, but it keeps getting returned to my address. This is mail of 9 previous tenants, of which my landlord has no forwarding addresses for. I am receiving so much of their mail that it is crunching up all of my own in my box. Online I read that a current tenant should fill out a change of address card but state that it was filled out by the current tenant. I am aware that it is illegal to redirect mail that is not your own, which is why I went in to the office to get advice on what to do. At 4:45 PM on Tuesday, August 30th, I spoke with an African American woman at the window with shoulder length, curly hair. I stated I needed a change of address card. She directed me to the ones out on the table. I started to explain that it was not for me, and that I wanted to clarify if what I had read was accurate, or if there was anything else I could do. She started raising her voice stating, "It is illegal to fill out a change of address for someone else." I said that I understood that, but wanted to know what else I could do. She ignored what I was saying, and continued to yell at me and raise her voice. She stated, "Don't tell me all of this. I don't want to hear it. Just fill out a card," and pointed to the same change of address cards on the table. This was not consistent with what she had stated before, so I started to ask if she knew if there was anything else I could do. She continued yelling, "This is my supervisor," pointing to the man next to her who didn't even raise his head. Then she yelled again, "the change of address cards are behind you." I took one and left. I was calm and spoke at a normal volume the entire time. I even thanked her before I left. I'm not sure why I thanked her for yelling at me, but I was so stunned at her behavior I didn't know what else to do. I was under the impression that I could get advice from those at the front desk. I was open to being incorrect and hearing what she had to tell me, but instead I only got hostile remarks and a rude temper. I left the office visibly upset and shaking after what happened. This was in front of a lobby full of people. I felt unheard, not helped at all, and verbally attacked. I understand that it was the end of the day and they had a line of a few people to help. I know that I might have misunderstood the protocol. But I thought those working at a government agency would treat customers as humans and not yell at their faces, while their own supervisors stand by and don't do anything. I have filed a complaint, and I really hope they take it seriously. I read some of these reviews before I went, but still chose to go since it was the office closest to me and I thought what I was going in for would be quick and easy. Employees should not yell at customers and be rude, and management is clearly an issue here, as well. read more

All I have to say about this post office is that all the moeshas that work there are so rude. They have power trips because they are behind a counter. They are rude to customers. They speak to you like your an idiot. I am a regular at this postal office although my check-ins don't show, because I'm always trying to get in and leave quickly. Since my mail carrier will not bother to check if I'm home for delivery confirmation/signatures. So I get those slips to come and pick up my packages. I come here at least every month that they already know me to even bother to ask for my ID. Also that they know I have already signed my slip. But what I do not like is that whenever they drop off those slips is that they put the pick up date the next day knowing its sitting at the postal office.. it gets under my skin. It's a game of chance to get the nice, professional ladies that work there but lately they've been helpful, quick and nice. Therefore 3 stars. I recommend if you're paying with credit/debit or even ebt, you can use the automated postal machine and go about your day. If not then good luck with the line because its usually 3+ people deep. read more

I called this location to get more information on our lost item and asked for the supervisor and talked to Mrs. Hall. I believe that's how you spell her name. Wow! to think this is the supervisor is haunting to me. Poor customer service, rude and careless. Please drive somewhere else this place doesn't deserve your hard earned money.
