Came by this morning, to check my PoBox and doors were locked at 6:45am when they should've been open. Went for nothing and wasted my time.

The people who work here are rude, condescending and have zero customer service skills. They probably shouldn't spend life being so angry.

I don't understand why they are so rude. They go as slow as humanly possible almost on purpose and in spite of you. They never have it together. They hand out the wrong forms for passports. Then they disappear in the back for 15 minutes ave just make you wait like a fool. Absolutely terrible customer service. read more

To my father's great relief, two of his wrongly-addressed Priority Mail envelopes were rescued prior to delivery and returned to him - "most cordially and expeditiously" he says. He had the great good fortune that a team of three USPS personnel at what he describes at a vast operation seen through the S Alfred Hold & Dispatch portal, were able to deal with his quite out-of-the-ordinary request. Once his ID was confirmed, the envelopes' provenance carefully ascertained, and the circumstances explained and well vetted, the mis-directed envelopes were retrieved enroute, and back in his hands the following day. He is so grateful for the thoughtfulness and kindness that spared him embarrassment, and made it possible for the corrected items to be on their way timely. Big thank-you read more

I set an appointment on their website to come in for a passport! As I come for my 10:30 appointment, they then tell you that they aren't taking appointment cause they do not have anyone on staff to do it. Then goes to get upset with whatever service they use to make appointments and then give me attitude cause they fucked up.. I'm so confused lol. I drove 30 minutes to get there and scheduled the appointment a week and a half in advanced , I think the least they could have done with give a phone call to let me know they aren't taking appointments. read more

Really awful people who work here. Came in and it was a mess and envelopes were everywhere. I needed to send medication to someone who needs it. I guess I picked up an envelope that was in the wrong pile. I waited forever and then got screamed at because I picked up the wrong envelope. I was made to get out of line to get the right envelope and made to wait again. These folks make government employees look really bad. They would be better at digging ditches than serving the local community. Try to avoid this location at all costs! read more

Zero stars. By far the worst ever post office. I would never trust the trolls working here they lie to your face. They are lazy and don't want to do their job properly. They don't deliver all your mail they loose it and pretend nothing happened by far the worst customer service ever. Better to find a new post office to use there is no accountability or honesty here. It's so sad that the customer service here is so poor. It's a nice, short walk from my apartment and I enjoyed walking there when I needed a break from work during the day. I sell on ebay so I have to ship items on a weekly basis. Yesterday was my last day ever going back. The female tellers are not bad, but the male tellers there are the worst. They are rude to individuals who are not the same race as them. There were no Priority envelopes or boxes of any kind for me to put my items in. Only the ones for purchase. I waited in line for 10 minutes to get to the front just to ask for more. The old man working there started yelling at me saying I would have to buy one from the back. I said I was not going to pay for an envelope because I would loose money on my sale. He just kept yelling at me so finally I calmly said, "Your attitude is out of line" and left. I would much rather make the 7 minute drive the USPS by The Grove where the staff is always helpful and sweet no matter how long the line is. read more

I got there at 8:20 AM but they don't open until 8:30. They have some good women clerks there. There is a male clerk that is so lazy and nasty. The women clerks are very pleasant, but the male clerk makes me feel like I am bothering him by being here. Hello management! Someone needs to talk to the male clerk and tell him that a lot of people don't have jobs these days and he should at least behave in a way that shows he appreciates having a job. If Mr. Nastylazy doesn't think it is worth his time to help customers, he should quit. If Mr. Nastylazy is using his postal job as a way to pass along to the public the negativity that must certainly pervade his personal home life, he should know that he is ripping off the public by getting a paycheck. There are too many people who would love to have a job and if this guy doesn't want to work, someone else can take his place. read more

Not usually interested in writing up negative reviews, but I had a pretty bad experience recently. This post office is relatively small and old compared to others in the vicinity. The individuals working there have always been somewhat nice or tolerable. Unfortunately, I crossed paths with an individual (long hair/Hispanic/mid-30s) that must be new to that location. She's the perfect example of a rude, disgruntled, government worker that makes out these errands so unpleasant. This bitch has a really bad attitude -- no wonder why people are unhappy with the way taxpayers' money is spent. Please note that this location does not offer passport services. read more

Unfortunately, this is the location I have to use for any business delivery. Unfortunately, the window clerks HAVE SERIOUS ATTITUDE and CONTROL ISSUES. I'm not kidding, it's the worst I've ever seen. I've been coming to this Post Office for oh, about 8 years now, and while the staff has been amazingly friendly for the most part...my visits there always tend to sucky! Today was no different... I pulled up to a usually easy-to-park-in parking lot only to find about 5 or 6 cars scrambling for spots. STRIKE ONE....had to fork out change for a metered spot. So I get inside...and mind you...I ONLY needed some stamps! The line was oh so long if you wanted to wait to get your stuff from a real live person...OR, you could wait in line to use the machine. Of course the machine seemed like a no brainer until I realized there was NO machine anymore. Apparently they removed the old stamp dispenser and replaced it with some new fangled gizmo that some jackass was using...and using...and using. I mean seriously, he was weighing EVERY envelope because he needed international postage! Finally I gave up on waiting for him. STRIKE TWO...I had to go stand in the horrendous line for...stamps. Yeah, so I'm now in line and glaring out at Mr. ItalySpainFranceAustriaGermany hogging the damn machine...and the line is NOT moving. I waited, no joke, for 15 minutes without the line even moving a spot..and in all that time, the stamp dude was STILL weighing envelopes! And while standing there with my Shutterfly Christmas cards in hand, some woman strikes up conversation with me. STRIKE THREE...I was in a hurry and was forced to listen to a women and her child ramble on and on about their holiday plans all the while the child was hacking up a lung within a foot of me. Grrrr. I finally got to my guy at the counter and just as he handed me my stamps and I began to bolt, he had the audacity to say, "Woah...why are you in such a hurry?" Are you kidding? Um, I don't know...cuz maybe I would like to get these STAMPED cards in the mail before the 5 o'clock mailman gathers the mail and you just took up almost 40 minutes of my time for STAMPS. Ok..enough said. Kudos to all of the Postal Workers out there....thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do in order to get us our mail and our holiday gifts!! We'd be lost without you! But please, can I make one suggestion? PLEASE, bring back the old stamp machine that ONLY dispenses stamps!!! read more

I have to give a poor review because their hours are horrible, especially considering that they are located in an extremely busy and populated part of town. Not only does the main post office close by 5pm, but they lock their doors way before 7pm. By the time I get off of work at 6pm I can never make it on time to get my mail from my PO Box and the doors are locked by 3pm Saturday and all day Sunday so every couple of weeks I have to have someone go to pick up my mail and that is a horrible thing to have to go through. There are no other local post offices so I am stuck with this situation at the time being and it so sucks. I"ve had the PO box address for some time now, so it will be hard to switch to a different location for that reason, changing addresses with anyone and all that, but as soon as my current renewal is up that's what I have to do so that I can actually pick up my mail. There is also almost always someone panhandling right at the entrance or some kid who should be in school who is trying to sell candy. Also I had sent a certified mail recenty and the point of not using automated is to get personal assistance when needed. The cashier didn't tell me exactly what I was getting and it ruined the purpose of the mail.I wanted the mail to be delivered without a signature and after the deadline found out the reason my time sensitive mail wasn't delivered was because it required a signature and nobody had signed for it. Simply, wow. I read a review on here that said this office was open until 7pm, so I called at 6:30 just to make sure they have a late pick-up/postmark time. My conversation w/ the woman that answered went like this: Her: "Station" Me: "Hi, I was calling to see if you have a 7pm pick-up?" Her: "Of what?" Me: "The mail." Her: "Hold on.................... 6." Me: "Oh, ok thank you. I hate to bother, but do you know..." Her: "Ma'am MA'am MA'AM!!! We're closed!" Me: "I apologize, I didn't mean to offend you. I was just ask...." Her: "Well, you did!" (She hung up on me.) Do I need to say anything about this level of customer service? I'll tell you this: I have never Yelped about anything, especially a complaint, b/c I didn't think spending my energy on a bad experience was the best use of anyone's time. This post office could be better ran by emergency managers from the Michigan governors office. No one answers phones, listens or follows up. Inquiries about resolving undelivered packages get misinformation and directed to the general USPS line, even though it is still the responsibility of the Alfred St. post office. There are a few very nice employees - but still the most aggravating time getting packages delivered properly. read more

If you have to wait in line to ship then I'm sorry. But you really should be printing postage online as it's cheaper and easier. Or you could use the machine they have set up to print your postage on your own as well. 5 minutes of reading could save you all the time in line. If you really need to wait in line, go right after lunch if you can, usually the least busy times at this location. And don't go on Mondays or right when they open because line is crazy. Staff here is pretty friendly and helpful. Only time I have to stand in line is when I have to send something higher value internationally or when I need to pay duties on packages I am receiving. The smaller parking lot that gets filled up pretty quickly so it's a hassle sometimes. Another note, the doors for the self ship machine and po boxes are open early so you can go before the actually opening time to drop stuff off. read more

I guess I should update the story. We eventually got our monitors, but not until I had actually contact the US Post Master General directly, at the time it was Patrick R. Donahoe. After my chat with Patrick there was no shortage of apologies from the various executives around Los Angeles, and my packages were eventually delivered. I think it's pretty bad that I have to basically call in a favor from the CEO of the USPS in order to have them do their job, and I feel sorry for people battling with this company who do not have the resources available that I have. read more

I've lived in the Carthay area for many years and going to the Pruess Station Post Office there. The management has declined so badly that it is downright unpleasant having to go there. There's no stamp machine in the lobby anymore. A line of people backed up to the outer door waiting for service is not uncommon especially in the mornings because it appears there's never more than 1 employee at the windows. Having to stand in line waiting for more than 30 minutes just to buy postage stamps is exhausting and outrageous. They need to reorganize, get rid of the cause of deterioration and be a functional asset to the neighborhood again. read more

I don't know what other people say about this place but I thought it was just a normal post office with friendly staff. I found parking without any problem, when I was standing in line, one of the staff approached me and asked me what I needed. The person at the counter was also very friendly and relatively quick. :) I did wait a little while though...there was only one staff at the counter. Friendly post office in the neighbor! read more

Worst Post Office ever. Worst. I sent back the pink slip for a redelivery on a package, they lose it. I send my bf to go get the package because oh yea, they're only open 10-5 so if you have a full time job, GOOD FUCKING LUCK, with origin documentation, the tracking number, and an old expired ID for further proof. They won't give him the package THAT IS SITTING RIGHT THERE WITHOUT THE GODDAMNED PINK SLIP. THEN DON'T LOSE IT THE FIRST TIME. USPS is the absolute worst. read more

I love this post office because the lines are never long. If they happen to be for some random reason, they move the line quickly and open more tellers. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 10-15 minutes, which for USPS is amazing! I love the fact that there is always someone standing at the line asking what you're there for so that if you need any extras (ie. delivery confirmation, tracking, etc.) you don't hold up the teller and you do it while waiting in line. It makes complete sense! The lady tellers are fabulous! So sweet & always a pleasure. There is one male teller that is extremely nice also. Now, my only problem (which is why I removed stars) is the other male teller/helper. He absolutely annoys me. He doesn't help! He's arrogant. He talks back to his own manager. How is he even still working there? He thinks he's the boss, but he's absolutely not. Ever heard of customer service? He doesn't have any skills in this department & he is there every time I come to this post office. I think it's time for him to move on and allow this post office to get a 5 star rating! Our regular mailman Troy is a hardworking man. When he is off, his substitute leaves the bulky mail half way in our outside mailbox. I printed many pictures of his delivery and went to this office to complain. I had to stay in front of the window for 30 minutes. The lady who showed up to help said you need to see a carrier supervisor who did not show up. She came back again and said your mailbox is small. I guess I have to install a mailbox the size of a Samsonite suitcase. No wonder this system is going down and they always cry to increase the prices of stamps! read more

This post office, like many of the others leaves a lot to be desired....the staff are friendly but you can tell they have seen too much. The line is painfully long and seemingly everyday someone is arguing with the teller..... If you can get in first thing it might work but later in the day...forget it. And this is the first post office I ever went to that was out of stamps..for a few days. read more

Nothing stands out about this location, I'm always using the machine to calculate my postage (machine has never been down, which is great)... the few times i've needed to go in and talk to the postal workers, they've been efficient and kind (not always so friendly, but polite enough). Shoutout to Wanda for being so amazing all the time. I always get trouble for wanting to scan my items for a receipt at other post office locations. The packages all come from different sources so I can't print a one page confirmation scan for them and I don't like leaving them in the window or down the chute as I've had packages go missing with no proof. Wanda has a stand by the door and will scan however many packages you want with a smile and infectious positive attitude. I travel further to this one because of her. read more

would rate zero stars if i could. i just left and the treatment from the lady at the window on 4.22.2022 at 10:10 am was absolutely absurd. i approached and told her i had one package to mail separately and the rest have labels. she started out not even greeting me, and acting hostile. i handed her the one separate package and with attitude she asks me "so where's the label". i reiterated that that one is gonna not have a label and just be sent to the address in the envelope. she scoffed and asked to see the other labels. i said it's on my phone and she told me to get it out. the moment i pulled it up on the counter she goes "nope we go to do those". i asked her what she means, and she belittles the crap out of me. "i just told you we don't do those" and i once again asked why and she said "that's what i'm saying, do you not understand, we don't do that". like can't even answer the question. then this woman is blatantly being rude, im at the point where i'm physically shaking from her hostility, i wish i knew her name. i've never had this kind of experience at the post office. i said to her "you don't have to be so rude to me especially this early in the morning" and she said "don't tell me how to act". this kind of customer service is unbelievable. this girl needs to lose her job. i will never be returning to this post office even though i live a block away. i will happily drive farther to avoid an interaction like this ever again. i would also like if someone in management of this post office on Preuss to reach out to me if they see this. I am blown away by this absurd encounter. As someone who works in customer service, i would NEVER allow someone on my team to act that way. Pathetic read more
