This office has to have the worst delivery service in the city. I cannot comment on the service inside because I rarely go inside.... no parking, stepping over vendors, cluttered merchandise, too much incense. My complaint is about home delivery. The service has been awful; mail at 8:30 pm, no mail for 3 days, delivering other people's mail from 2 blocks away to several streets away, mail that has never been delivered,( I checked with the sender) and delivery of mail to residents who have post office boxes. Okay, so the employees here are friendly, for the most part. But it's super slow. There are maybe 6-8 windows but you'll have 1-2 employees actually working the windows. If you just need stamps, go elsewhere. I would only come here for quick drop offs. And obviously during the holiday season they are packed (like every other post office) so expect a wait. read more

Disorganized. I would blame it on Louis DeJoy, however this post office was disorganized and slow before the Trump administration. I've even had mail stolen by USPS employees (presumably) rather than delivered. Go UPS or even FedEx when possible. Their handling of Amazon packages is unacceptable. One employee during the holiday season. I waited 48 minutes in line on a Thursday early afternoon. There were 29 people in line including a few elderly women and a man in a wheelchair. This is my home/local post office and I come here frequently to send packages to my brother who is overseas in the military. No matter what time of day it is, and no matter how long the line is, there is only ever 2 people max working the windows. OCCASIONALLY they will have someone with a cart selling stamps but that's very rare. They should have a vending machine that sells stamps because I know a lot of people get in line that literally just want to buy one or two stamps and not a booklet. Anyways, the staff is actually very nice and friendly. I just think they move a little slower than most. I sometimes go to the post office near the airport and they're super fast and efficient. It just kind of feels like you're coming to the DMV when you come to this particular location, ya know? Parking is always ample in my experience. Directly out front is 20 minute parking but I wouldn't risk it. On the street there is almost always two hour parking and people are constantly coming and going. Out back is a huge parking lot but that tends to be full most of the time. It's not the worst, I just think they need a few more helping hands to speed everything up. read more

Their mail carrier Dino is the most incompetent, ignorant, disrespectful Neanderthal ever. He talks to people like they are stupid. This idiot knows what my payrolls check looks like and goes out of his way to keep me from receiving it. I had my check sent express mail and when I went to pick it up from the post office they told me Deno had it. I went to find him on his route and he told me he didn't have it. I spent over an hour going back and forth trying to locate my package. And let me mention no one would answer the phone at the post office. They could not locate my package until 3:00 the next day. Dino said it feel under the seat in his truck. Yesterday the only time I have to get my check and get to the bank I found him on his route and asked for my mail. He refused to give it to me, got in his truck and drove off. Later he delivered the mail. My daughter and her husband received their check from the same job.He did not deliver mine. This is the WORST Post Office I have ever encounter! Either my package has been "lost" or they don't deliver my mail. I've complaint to this office so many time I guarantee they know my name! This place is a complete joke. They haven't been delivering a lot of people's mail in our neighborhood and didn't even tell anyone what they needed to do to get it. We also had a large package being delivered and they didn't even attempt to deliver it but we kept getting Amazon notifications saying it was unable to be delivered due to the mailbox being full or something. They were large boxes so obviously that wouldn't be logical. We followed the instructions listed on the notice and it kept prompting us to reschedule the delivery. We made sure no one was parked in the driveway and the porch was completely empty with more than enough space for the boxes. Again, we got the same notice saying unable to deliver sand we need to reschedule. We went to the post office just to find out that the driver just refused to lift the boxes and had never even loaded them into the truck to attempt the delivery. The whole process was a mess and their communication issues and poor customer service made it much more difficult than it needed to be. If we had a vehicle to pick up our own large packages we would have just bought everything local and not wasted so much time ordering on Amazon to not even have it delivered. This is the worst post office I've ever had to deal with and their lines are ridiculously long since everyone else in this area has issues to deal with there as well. read more

When it was time for me to pick it up it was opened and someone had seen all my sensitive information. The Clerks response was, "we are sorry for this mishap but the lady didn't take it home with her and she returned it back". Oh by the way they never asked me for my ID as well. This location services my home. I actually have my postal carriers number and named stored in my phone. Yes service is THAT bad especially if you are expecting a package. I have to call my mail carrier to ask to look for a package. lt is a hit or miss using counter service too. If you come during the sweet spot time where there ARE ONLY 5 people in line you can actually utilize the 20 minute parking in front of the building. If not you will be parked about a half block or so away, or in the in the parking lot around the back. It's ok if you don't have a bunch of packages. It seems like this is the post office they send disgruntled workers who are on their last few years of a countdown to retirement. Instead of being happy they sit miserably with each patron. No matter what time of the day I come in there are only 2 or 3 windows open. And often times if it is 3 windows open then one is helping the other window, resulting in 2 windows with an extremely long line. It's rare I use snail mail but when I do this is what I have to deal with. I could drive farther to another location, by the time I do that basically it's the same amount of time as going local and standing in a long line with the disgruntled. This is the absolute worst post office I've ever encountered. I've lived in Chicago and San Diego, and never had issues like what I've had to deal with at this post office. Mail is hardly ever delivered in a timely fashion, and the mail carriers always seem to be having a bad day. Mostly all of the delivery people are illiterate because they can't read the names on the mail. They have, time and time again, given the tenants the wrong mail from other buildings and other units. Complaining about the mail carriers is a huge waste of time, as the office workers are either too stupid or too "busy" to understand your complaints about their postal carriers. I, honestly, don't think they care. All complaints go unheard. This postal office needs to "clean house" and bring in competent people who need jobs and those who have more than just a second grade education. read more

Ever hear of a US Post Office without mailboxes? Up until earlier this year, this one did not have a mail box outside . They used to have mailboxes in the back as well as at the front /side street. One day they all vanished. First it was the boxes in the rear. Then the ones in the front (which back in the day used to be on the side, 39th st). Whatever their reason as to why they removed them, I'm glad they replaced them. They've removed all the corner boxes that used to be within walking distance within a 2 mile radius so now you have to drive or take a bus just to mail a damn letter. What an inconvenience for people that must walk to their destinations, like my mom. The boxes are no longer the usual "pull the lever & drop your mail in kinds. These ones have nothing to pull open. They are built like a tank & have a thin slit opening that only standard flat 1st class envelopes will fit. Anything larger will have to be dropped off inside. Going inside & dealing with a disgruntled USPS employee is another story. I'll just say "ditto" to all the previous negative reviews, & leave it at that. Otherwise my review will need to be downloaded lol I will say this, those postal employees better start smiling & act like they enjoy helping their customers because they will be replaced by machines some day soon & frankly, I think we might all prefer THAT! read more
