Postal Services in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California... After writing some postcards, I wanted to mail them right away. This Hollywood Post Office was near to the Hollywood Library. It had metered street parking and a very short line of customers inside. I actually dropped my cards into a slot and stood in line for more stamps. A clerk called out, "Anyone want stamps only?" I raised my hand and moved forward! It was a quick transaction. The only improvement would be for the supervisor to not distract the clerk while a transaction is happening! Ha! read more

I've been unfortunately been going to this location several years since it's convenient. They're extremely rude!! They don't have items out such as tape so it's inconvenient to get it and go along with your day. Staff members will watch you and ignore you income from hospitality dealing with high volume customers so I wouldn't treat people this same way. Despite their rudeness in the past I've let it go. Today I came in and went to the self-service option and made a mistake and put put my package in the "box" before putting the label the older gentleman said to me rude get over there in line. Who talks like that to another person absolutely disgusting, I expect the rudeness out of one of the ladies but was shocked by him. Definitely call ooh the customer service number. The low reviews here are for a reason customer service is non existent! I'm currently in line it's taken over 15 minutes when it could've taken less than 2 minutes. read more

In yet another spectacular example of being possibly the worst USPS in the nation, I raced here after work, arrived at 5:54, and the doors are locked. It closes at 6. All I have to do is drop a pre-labeled box in their Mail Drop. I really have no words. That's not true. I have several words. None of which would be allowed on this website. This US Post Office is open until 6pm on weekdays and 3pm on Saturdays! It's a savior on some days with most other USPSes closing at 5pm. They have a ton of PO Boxes (oookay Hollywood) and a Parcel Drop box which is where you'll usually find me dropping my prepaid packages. It's a beautiful building with it's own Hollywood Star right outside the entrance. If all you need is to drop off things with no human interaction, this is a great USPS. read more

I love the USPS but this location does not do the organization proud. Sad cruel way to treat customers. I saw a group of female workers talk among themselves for over 30 minutes and only one staff person works the general services window at a time (she was also part of the chatting) as the line piles on and if anyone interrupts them (Someone said, Excuse me ma'am I've been waiting an hour in the package pick up line) and one of the chatting workers screamed back to humiliate him telling him he was welcome to leave. Overall I was there an hour with only three people in front of me in line when I got there. There were about 20 people in line behind me by the time I Ieft so I don't know how long they had to wait. This place needs a good supervisor to right this ship. Awful. read more

Unfortunately, service at this location continues to roll downhill. This iconic location and popular spot (middle of Hollywood) -- an architecturally rich and historic building -- offers some of THE worst customer service imaginable! And yes, I have to agree with the vast majority of other comments. Nobody cares about customer service at this place. Extremely long lines. Employees are rude -- or very unfriendly, at best. Each employee seem to purposely show an attitude to customers. Supervisors don't give a damn. If a package is lost, nobody cares. Today a gentleman (middle section / service window) was especially rude and uncaring. That's when I asked for a supervisor. Additionally, the air-conditioning seemed to have been purposely turned off (!) for customers -- in the lobby area, while the A/C seemed to work fine at the employee area (behind the counters). Which speaks for itself. All in all, this place NEEDS A SERIOUS OVERHAUL, -- including hiring new management and new staff. That's the only way out of this mess and possibly improving the experience. All the negative reviews for this location are true. I would say it's fairly rare to get good customer service. I visited the post office to drop off some packages, and there were only two people ahead of me. However, no staff members were at the front counter for a long time , and the line grew to about five people behind me. I called customer service to politely inquire why no one was assisting the counter. When an employee finally came out to help, she became rude when I mentioned I was just dropping off packages. She questioned why I had waited in line instead of leaving earlier, even though I had nowhere else to be. The employee was extremely rude and accused me of having a bad attitude. I have been to other branches and their employees are much nicer than this location. read more

On December 12, 2025, I went to the USPS office at 1615 Wilcox Avenue, Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA 90028, to ship 18 packages to my regular clients. A USPS clerk named Rita initially began processing my shipments. When she reached the sixth package and saw that I still had more packages--and since it was close to closing time--she told me: "I will not accept any more packages from you. You must use the self-service machine." I calmly explained that Media Mail cannot be processed at the self-service kiosk and that I had waited in line like everyone else. She dismissed my explanation, pointed to the line behind me, and said they were about to close. She then refused to continue serving me. As a result, people in line began making rude comments toward me, such as "Hurry up" and "Are you the only one here?" I said that I had waited my turn and again asked Rita to complete my shipments. She refused. I asked for a supervisor. On the wall, I saw a sign listing Supervisor Maria Ayala. Instead, a young man who later said his name was Michael approached me and said, "I'm the supervisor. She's not here. I'm in charge." He told me to follow him to another window near the entrance. By that time, the packages Rita had already accepted had receipts issued, tracking numbers attached, and price labels printed. He then told me, "Take your packages." I said, "How can I take them? I haven't paid yet." He replied, "You can't pay." I showed my credit cards and said I was ready to pay. He said, "I don't know anything. Take them." When I returned to Rita's workstation, both Rita and Michael were gone. No one came to help me. Other employees told me, "We didn't serve you. We don't know." My packages were missing. I felt forced to call the police to report what I believed was theft of my USPS packages. After that, Rita suddenly reappeared and pushed the packages back through the window, then slammed it shut. I noticed that all price labels had been removed, even though the tracking numbers were still attached. In my opinion, the transactions were deliberately reversed to avoid responsibility. The most disturbing part is that while standing nearby, I personally heard Rita speaking with coworkers and clearly saying, "I hate Muslims." That day, I had come to the post office after Friday prayer, wearing traditional Muslim clothing--a white garment and a Muslim head covering commonly worn to the mosque. Based on my personal experience, I believe I was denied service due to religious discrimination. I am sharing this as my personal experience and opinion so others can make an informed decision before visiting this USPS location. read more

Terrible experiences here, I have to go to a different one now even though this is my local post office, the workers are so lazy they constantly let the drop boxes get full and never change them so they're just locked and no one can use them and people have to wait in line to drop off pre paid packages and they give you an attitude. Yesterday I went there to drop off a package and both were locked as usual and the place was completely empty not a worker in sight until one older man with waves finally came out and sat on this phone I then came up to him and I politely asked excuse me sir and which he ignored until I said it a second time and he looked up annoyed, I then asked him if I could drop off this package he stated the drop box is over there, I then mentioned that they're both locked he then replied back really they're both locked ok then went to the back and never returned. I wait for around 10 minutes before having to give my package to another lady who had came out. Do not recommend this place, they hire the most lazy entitled people here who are just running their business to the ground. read more

This post office is absolutely atrocious even by post office standards. You may be asking why I would even bother reviewing a USPS office... but I came here yesterday (on a Saturday afternoon) to drop a package. I parked in a half-empty lot in what I thought was typical USPS customer parking. I finished a call in my car and then noticed a postal worker just staring at me. I rolled my window down and he just started cussing me out, dropping F-bombs and acting as if I had just insulted him. He finally got around to telling me I couldn't park there, so I told him to calm down and then parked on the street (weird!!!). Completely disrespectful given my taxes pay for his postal salary. There's a respectful way of telling someone they cannot park there, and there's a 2026 ugly hatred way of inferring that... No wonder the post office is going bankrupt. Then I get into the actual post office, and there's a single person servicing while there's a line a mile long. I end up leaving after they got through one person in 20 min. I went down the street to the other USPS office (with parking!) and shipped my package in 2 min. read more

Came in around 11 am on a Friday to ship some Trader Joe's to our family in Hawaii. Saw many reviews mention there's only 1 employee working and that was the case but glad we were in and out in 15 minutes; got lucky with only a few people ahead of us in line. I'm glad Apple Pay is accepted. Paid $25 for a "large" flat rate box. Wish boxes came in bigger sizes because it basically only fits a small bag of snacks. read more

Big shout out to Christy (passport) and Guerro (SSA) for being professional, thorough, patient and delightful. They treated me and the other customers with respect and easygoing vibes. I recommend that you go there around 10:00 a.m. I was nervous about parking so I took Uber. I was pleasantly surprised by this post office - the street in front, the curb, the front steps, the lobby were clean; the customers in the queue were nice; and Christy and Guerro were awesome. read more

The reviews here are true. I've gone to this post office several times with an okay experience but yesterday, I've experienced the worst customer service ever. The workers are highly unprofessional and need to be able to communicate in a polite way. I needed help with a shipping label and they wouldn't help me print it. No reason why, they just couldn't. She responded to me in such a rude and inconsiderate way when I've been calm and composed. I wasted 20 minutes in line for that feedback when in that 20 mins, the (1) worker was yapping it up with a customer while 6 of us were waiting to be helped. These workers need to be trained to a higher standard and they need more workers at the booths to help customers since Hollywood is highly populated. It also smelled so bad in there!! read more

I went here to ship my Nord Electro 5d keyboard that I had recently sold on eBay. They accepted my package fine, gave me my tracking number which was updated on eBay, however upon looking up the tracking number, it was never updated. It always just said "Label created, carrier awaiting package". It created a lot of discourse between myself and the buyer, and frankly made me look shady, like I hadn't shipped it. I had no idea what happened, I didn't know if it was going to be delivered or if it was going to be returned to sender, or if it was just lost forever. It was pretty frustrating and USPS gave me no answers. Miraculously about 2 weeks later it was delivered to the buyer....DAMAGED despite being properly packed and marked fragile. I still don't know what exactly happened. Also I'll never understand why they always have one person working when there's several cubicles. read more

When I asked to talk to the post master, the frail elderly lady with gray hair, at the Wilcox US post office in Hollywood told me "You just did, we can't do anything." We tried using the walk-in passport service, and encountered a lady who was initially intended to assist us. Her demeanor was notably rude. She informed us, on multiple occasions, that her copy machine was broken and inquired about ten times if we had brought our own copies. We were missing the reverse side of one license, upon which she raised her voice and instructed us to produce the necessary copies. When we returned , she was engaged in a conversation with an individual who lacked several documents. Despite this, she continued to discuss his birthday, acknowledging that her own birthday was the day prior, and inquired about his twin sister. All the while, a line of customers were waiting. read more

The staff at this office is extremely rude and arrogant--especially Clerk #28 at the Hollywood branch. It is truly disheartening. My daughter just turned 18, and we went to renew her passport--upgrading it from a child's to an adult's--so she could go study abroad. From the very moment we mentioned that we had an appointment, she rudely cut me off, telling me that if the passport wasn't for *me*, I had no business being there. She wouldn't let me speak or assist my daughter; she ordered me to step away, go sit down, and refused to let me utter another word. I knew right then and there that something was going to go wrong. Sure enough, just a few days later, we received an email stating that the process had stalled because the clerk failed to include the old passport in the application package--which caused a significant delay in the issuance of the new passport. It breaks my heart to think that there are such mean and rude people in the world, and I know she did it on purpose, fully aware that we had requested expedited service. It is truly deplorable. I am now going to see if I can get a refund for the difference we paid to have the passport processed faster, but I can honestly say that this person is the rudest individual I have ever encountered in my entire life. read more

I have been there to get a refund for the Priority Express delivery, which was not delivered as they guaranteed. I had a letter from USPS that said I can contact the local Postal Office to assist in filling out a PS Form for a postage refund request! The staff at the counter were great and tried to process the refund, but the manager, Jose Cazares, came and told me they can't, and I have to go to the office where I sent the package. I mentioned to him that it is said to be a local office, and it was our residential local office, but he ignored it. Any how the customer service manager in the office is an ignorant and trickster person and not a willing to help person. A national post shouldn't keep this kind of managers who corrupt their system. read more

Just submitted all my documents for a passport renewal and Christy and Joyce were phenomenally kind and helpful! I wasn't fully confident with what I was doing but they knew where everything needed to go, what should and shouldn't be included, everything to write on the money order, how to expedite it and so on. Christy even stapled my photo to the form for me. It gave me so much peace of mind and I'm really grateful to them both. Everything was fast, too! Went to the post office for our passports. While it took some time to get an appointment, that seems to be the case everywhere. A crucial tip: Print your application and copies of your documents beforehand. This will streamline your visit. Some applicants didn't, and while the employee kindly made copies for them, it slowed things down. (Personally, I would have turned them away since the application clearly states this requirement.) Being prepared helps keep the process efficient for everyone. Customer service was excellent--the employee even thanked me for having everything ready. The only reason for 4 stars is the lack of clear signage for parking. A previous review mentioned free parking, but without proper signs, I ended up paying $12 (the minimum fee). read more

Clerk 28 Was arrogant and very disrespectful. I come to this post office weekly and I've never had an issue. I am a seller on Shopify & my website accidentally printed a flat postage prepaid label instead of ground. I asked the clerk if I can deduct the cost of that postage from the new one that I was going to purchase for the same address. She said she could not, although the other clerk that helped me after was able to do it. She gave me attitude. I asked for receipt and she was giving me a hard time while telling new customers to come in line when she hasn't finished the order with me. She treated me like she was above me. I have never seen the most rudest, unhelpful people in my life. The post office employees are slow to devery your mail plus the branches are slow too. Once you get to the front of the line employees leave the front counter and leaves one employee to work. No self check at a,l and it's alway the person in front of you that don't have packages wrapped correctly and have to see every stamp too. Plus, now you have to show ID for change of address too. Also, noting is very online too.This is why they are losing money too. They need to up day their system. I mailed a package within the city and it went out of state to come back into the city. Employees here are VERY kind, and I've seen them personally greet people who they recognize. They may not recognize me, but this is my post office I go to. And they are always very kind and work as fast as they can. My last experience I was chatting to an employee who made me feel so welcome (6/17/21- Clerk 15). Overall, the employees at this location always have a lot to deal with, the lines are usually long. I wish the powers that be could employ just a few more employees here so the line went faster. Customer service is 5 stars! This review is for the establishment itself and management. I walked in here at 9am on 9/07/22 It was still the morning and inside was INSANELY hot. I'm talking like 90 degrees plus. They have no AC. The workers are clearly hot and working in unfair conditions. It hasn't even reached the hottest point of the day yet. I understand they are sitting, but this should be illegal. I'm so sick of businesses treating employees like they're just a cog in the system. So our regular mailman was off today, another mailman (unknown) was delivering the mail from this post office to my work place (just fyi my work place processes paper work so the public can get help "$" type of place) , this unknown mailman yanked on the door handle aggressively, had me jump up and check the door, I opened the door and asked him "Are you okay? What was that all about?" In a confrontational tone of voice he replied, " why wassup? do you want your mail or no?" As I replied "excuse me?!" The mail man turned around and took the mail with him, He was gone. Never delivered or picked up the over 100 letters we had. If your business is important NEVER use USPS.
