He was very friendly and helpful throughout my appointment which didn't take long as well. Never had this great experience in any other postal service. Made an appointment for passport service for 2pm. Thought I got lucky to be able to make an appointment. Now going on 215pm and our USPS clerk disappeared. There was a family in front of us that had an appointment at 1pm and was finished at 2pm. This is some off the wall BS. Why have appointments available when walk-ins are being served first. They never have enough employees and unless your willing to wait an hour with two people in line than I would recommend you wait and take a day from work in order to get personal service from this location. The worst post office ever! If there were an option to give 0 stars, I would have given 0 stars. The employees are the laziest and slowest I have ever seen in my life. The service quality is awful. Only three employees were working when I arrived to send a package around 9:30 AM on Monday. The wait line was incredibly long. Only two windows were open, and when we repeatedly requested that more windows be opened, one of the employees finally responded, saying they didn't have enough staff because everyone else was late to work. What an unprofessional attitude! This place should be shut down as it is unable to operate properly. All they do is make customers wait for hours while they seem to enjoy their frustration. Continual service issues no matter where I live within their zipcode. There has been theft issues (from the mailman...caught on security cameras), there has been misdelivery, you name it. This location could care less. Their manager Maria has been made aware of misdelivery issues. The excuse is "your regular mailman was on holidays" every time. Or, 2 weeks ago she said the mailman would pickup the mail incorrectly delivered to our building. 2 weeks later and it's still there and she has not replied to emails. If the manager is this careless, makes sense why the rest of the station is. USPS needs to revamp this location and overhaul it with staff that can read the addresses, deliver the mail to the correct buildings, let alone street, and actually put an effort into doing their job. Don't even get me started on the counter service - it gets worse. Also, maybe it's time to either train Maria on how to manage or get somebody who can. read more

Unfortunately this is my USPS... they're reckless and wont let you pick up your mail!! The carrier suspended my mail and did not tell the residents why or what to do. They didn't even post a notice. I went to pick up my mail and spoke to two supervisors which did absolutely nothing. This location illegally holds your mail and does not provide solutions. Literally unreal. These people are so adamant about not doing their job it's astounding. I've come in 3 times to send small packages. I get there's a lot, but it's a matter of hitting print and putting the label onto the box. They can't be bothered, no matter what time of the day, they literally refuse service? Unfortunately this is my post office. I go out of my way to not use them, but unfortunately they deliver or should I say don't deliver my mail. When you complain about not getting your mail they send you a copy pasted reply that they will look into it. Then they wait long enough that you can not do anything about it and send a new reply that they looked where the postal person said the delivered the mail ... never telling you where that was ... and say the do not see it this it was delivered. Lol absolutely insane. Black hole into nothing. Recently this has gotten even worse and we were told they are training people on our route... yes let's make this worse... let's train people where they do it completely wrong. Once a postal person must have gotten upset and just left their delivery container in the hallway that had package for multiple buildings. No wonder mail walks. Hollywood WAKE UP... you are not in a keystone cop movie this is the mail... have some pride. If ever there was a stereotype for DMV-worthy post offices with employees to match this drab relic, the Hollywood Post Office on Wilcox is it. Doors locked during business hours, one employee for a line of 10 and two other ancient dinosaurs in ugly post office sweaters (think Mr. Rogers sweaters but freshly dug up from the grave) ignoring, laughing to each other and not helping a very long line of patient customers. The employees are lazy, have the arrogance of knowing customers are waiting and fit every reason why this place deserves to be in the wasteland of what has become Hollywood. Don't go here if you value your time and sanity. If however you want to torment someone you don't like or scare your kids into the value of an education and having an intelligence level above a deep fryer, this is the place. Ron is amazing. That's it. But this place and the rest of the ppl that work there suck. This young woman helped me and she was horrible. On her phone rude. Didn't care My real problem is that I believe one of the post people stole a package and they didn't do anything about it. Nothing. They said they delivered it but never did. In fact I was home when they did but when I went to check for it after it was delivered it wasn't there. So they either took it, delivered it to the wrong address or someone in the building stole it and I find it hard to believe someone in this small complex stole it cause my Amazon packages that sometime stay outside for hours to even a full day and they never get stolen. Waited about 20 minutes in line. I prepaid labels online and wanted to ask if they were able to print them out for me. When I asked the man, I offered to show him my transaction id & showed him my prepaid labels. He then gave me an annoyed face and started signaling the next person in line to come forward. I was confused because he completely disregarded me so I asked again,"Are you able to print out the labels I prepaid online?". He said "STAPLES IS DOWN THE STREET". I wasn't clear so I asked him if that meant he couldn't, and he finally said no. I don't know if he was toying with me or what, but I didn't appreciate the attitude especially after waiting for so long. read more

I have been going to this location for 10 years now, ever since I started my home business. I go there everyday to drop off my online orders. The clerks there are amazing, especially Joyce, Tye and Trudy. They are super friendly and always very kind to me. I sometimes talk to them about my problem buyers and they always give me great advice from their experience with working with clients there. Then suddenly this new employee showed up. Here name is TITIANA. She is the worst customer service rep I have dealt with. First of all, she always looks upset and angry, before you even get to her window. She is even rude when you are courteous to her. Whenever I see a customer say thank you to her when their transaction is complete, she never reply, just looks away, like she is irritated. I avoid her window at all cost. I will always let the person behind me go ahead when her window becomes open. Anyways, I just got so tired of her being rude to me and other customers so I started going to the Post Office on Cherekee. Also, I mentioned about her with the Manager name (Maria). I asked her why is this Postal employee so rude. And Maria replied: "I can't control their personality". Huh?? What a joke. The worst USPS service agents in LA County! I stopped by twice in the last couple weeks. I interacted with three different agents, and they were just super rude. Last week, it felt like I was an inconvenience for showing up trying to send a mail (zero people ahead of me, and she wasn't busy). I did not expect a good morning, or a how-are-you conversation. Just a polite courtesy from a federal government employee to the fellow citizen. . This morning I stopped by and asked politely for the priority mail boxes. Different agent from last week. She gave me a dirty look and pointed at where the boxes are, on the floor, still in plastics (vs put on the shelf), and the sizes were not even right. I was hoping to see medium flat rate box since that one came with self-adhesive and no tape is needed. There's none, I grabbed the big priority flat rate priority box, and asked for a tape. She hesitantly gave me one. I stepped aside so people behind me can be seen vs holding up the line. I asked if I could borrow a scissor to tape up the box, at the next agent, and immediately he gave me an unpleasant look behind his mask, and yelled that we did not give away supplies. Too bad! Not sure if these two agents happened to be in bad moods, or, the rough neighborhood has changed their behavior overtime. read more

This post office isn't the best. I come here often because I live walking distance though. As often as I've been here I've probably only had a couple of really good, genuine experiences where I've left happy with my visit. This post only has a couple workers at a time and the line is always long. I repeatedly wonder why they don't get more people to work the other windows. They have self service machines which help with what I'm mailing, but sometimes one is broken and then the other one is being used. Last time I went, I waited just as long for the self service line than if I had waited in the regular line. There is also a lady who works here who is VERY hostile to customers. Once she yelled at me for using wrong packaging, yet refused to help me find correct packaging. I was kind and had been waiting in line for 30 min and have never felt so belittled. It almost made me never want to return to this location again. When someone tried to help me explain to her what I needed help with, she began yelling at them too! It's not just me she yells at. I saw her yell at a young family the other day bc the man asked if she could pull her mask up bc they had an unvaccinated young child with them and were trying to get a passport. She yelled at them and said she'd do what she could and that they were rude. I felt bad for the family; I felt their pain. I understand that there are labor shortages at the moment and that working under these COVID conditions can be stressful, but I have seen this women yell at people for years... I'm not sure how more people haven't complained about her. Come here if you want to take 30+ minutes to mail something and argue with an old lady. read more

I had 2 passport appointments one for my kids and my self and another for my husband. We came to our appointment at 12:45pm as I had on my calendar. NO one was at the passport window so I asked someone els if we had to check in at the front desks. I was told someone would come to the window at appointment time. It was 1:10pm when finally someone came to the window. That's when I was told the appointment for the kids and I was actually at 12pm (my mistake I entered it incorrectly in to my calendar). My husband was the only one that was able to file for a passport, when we asked if we could get fit in (because on their window they have a paper that states they do walk ins) he was dismissive and said to come back a Wendsdays and maybe we could get fit in if we were lucky. read more

I see a lot of posts that the people here are pretty rude. I honestly don't know because I hardly ever use the window. The kiosk works great for me and it's fast in and out. They always seem to have a lot of inventory on free boxes for priority packaging, which I use for my small business. Also, a lot of complaints about parking. Honestly, I've seen that many postal carriers do park in this lot while they're out working during the day, since I've gotten there right at opening and also frequent so I see the same cars. That being said, there is free and abundant street parking. If you have a lot of packages or some thing heavy, they allow you to bring it straight back to the loading dock. Otherwise, be kind, take a few extra steps and practice some patience. read more

Terrible. If I could give zero stars I would. No one working here seems to realize that some people think we should do away with the usps. I am a huge "save the usps" person. But this location should be closed down. Do not come here unless you have at least 40 minutes to watch one person (they only have one person working the windows at a time) slowly help people while the line builds to twenty people. I guess they hope people will give up and leave before they have to *sigh help them. I went to this post office on 3585 S. Vermont for a walk in passport which it said online they do on Sat. from 9am to 10am & I went bc its the only time me & my husband can do it for our minor daughter, so I got there at 8:30am to get in line just for the lady to come & tell me they were only doing 5 & she already had the 5 & not anymore but I told her its not even 9 & she just left. Why? if they list a specific time, they don't even wait for that time to do the service they list they're doing! read more

They lied to me. I went in with a box for that was sealed. I asked the desk for a tad more tape. She said no I had to pay. I said fine I will pay she said she has no tape. And that I didn't tape the addrsss to the box. She refused service. A lady comes out in the back says she had tape and will sell it. I had waited an hour by then so I had to move my car. I drove to the other post office on Cherokee. They quickly patched the tape and took the box and told me they lied. That the was a QR code the other post office uses that to print the sticker. She just didn't want to do it. I went back to file a complaint and they refused to take the complaint. This horrible. read more

I finally have to join in with everyone else. Heard several awful things about the USPS, especially this location, but I never had an issue until last month. A package was supposed to be delivered and when I went to track it, it came up 'Attempted Delivery: Undeliverable' or something similar. There was nothing blocking my doorway. No dogs, no construction, nada. When I went to the post office the following day-a Saturday-the lady basically TOLD ME that the guy who delivered this probably just processed my package at that status, and didn't even bother trying to deliver it. I figured I would wait until Monday...and nothing showed up. Went back on Tuesday and spoke to a supervisor (Pedro) who said he would call by the end of the day regardless. Did I hear from him? Nope. Returned on Wednesday since I knew I was going to be out of town and I ended up staying until past their closing time, trying to get someone competent to help. A nice girl (Tye?) attempted to help me, and said she would keep an eye out. My package was nowhere to be found in their facility, but they did have a screenshot photo of it (they let me take a shot with my phone thankfully). I continued to track this while away, then was surprised to find out it was returned to the facility, then it was shipped OUT BACK TO WHERE IT CAME FROM. Yes, I used all caps because I was pissed. So the idiots who claimed they would hold it for me didn't even bother. I realize I was the idiot for taking their word. Then I was anxious since I had my mail on hold for a while, and I requested to have this picked up at the facility. With my track record being shitty, I ended up receiving this in my mailbox. I'm hoping all is accounted for, I stopped by just in case to see if anything remained and they said they didn't find anything. I need to make friends with my neighbors next time I'm out of town so they can hopefully pick it up for me, since apparently the USPS-at this location-can't do anything right. read more

Weirdly had a very positive experience doing my passport renewal. Having had one application rejected for a bad photo (curse you, other photo place!), I decided to book an appointment here to make 100% sure that I wouldn't run into the problem again. Not only was everyone courteous and very helpful, but my forms were double-checked and my mail was paid for + sent off in a timely fashion. AND there was only one crazy person inside! Would highly recommend getting an appointment and handling your passport needs at this location. It's almost like it's not a government-run facility. read more

Could absolutely give this post office a -10 if that was actually possible. The workers there are angry and ignore the people waiting in line. Pick up today was insane because the worker who was supposedly a pick up wasn't even at the window for at least 30 minutes and we just kept building up in a line. When they did arrive, they were incredibly slow and with a massive attitude. She was on speakerphone, having a casual conversation and the whole time which also slowed her down from doing her actual job. I do not leave bad reviews ... ever, because I understand humans make mistakes and I don't think it's very helpful to berate folks on social ... However in writing my first negative review ... ever... I will tell you that Mr Gerald Puentes in the passport office today made me cry.. at the counter, and I am tough. I do not cry in front of people. I have never been spoke to more rudely in my life by someone in customer service or made to feel like my time was unimportant. I waited one month to get an appt , that is the current wait time and same to reschedule it ..and to make a long story short after our exchange I was told " is there a problem here ? Did you make a mistake on this form ? You did not bring any copies. Where is the first page of this form. I am going to have to take your passport because you brought a copy of your birth certificate . I am going to have to charge you to make copies of your passport and birth certified. it's 1:15 pm , I was supposed to go on my lunch at 1 and I am here helping you. Actually I'm going to go on my lunch now so you can wait an hour or reschedule your appt with someone else. " At this point I asked to speak to a manager and began to cry because I think I was shocked at how someone could just disregard your time .. a month wait .. not a day .. a whole month to wait and actually how is it my fault this is your lunch break when my appt was rescheduled from Friday to Monday at 1 pm and now you need to go to lunch. The bright side is Ty Byred the manager was one of the most kind, sweet humans I have ever met to help me. The experience was completely different. I would give her ten stars. She handed me a copy to re fill out, she made the copies , she didn't ask where the page 1 was of the stolen passport form. And was able to see me after I filled out the form and completed the task. I was able to go back to work at 2 to finish my day. They should give Ty a raise and promotion. I also saw her help another customer that also didn't fill out the form right. She helped him too and did not berate him. She offered a suggestion to call his family to find out the information. We both were able to get new passports. I am not confident I would have got my passport today with Gerald at the window, esp because I needed to head back to work at 2 As a professional , working in a large hospital , managing employees and advising / managing patients ( that's customer service ) I would pray this man doesn't talk to all his customers this way. I could never dismiss someone so badly to the point of making someone cry ...over a passport My wish is that they could train employees better in these govt agencies. I understand the work is hard but please help your customers come up with solutions instead of berating them, be more empathetic and help us with parts of the form we didn't complete right. I am well educated and I still have issues with forms sometimes. This antiquated customer service position we have , esp in post offices and government agencies , needs to be changed.
