Kudos to Joel for saving me a trip to the post office. A friend asked me to pick up a package and gave me the pink attempted delivery slip. After I left I saw that the attempted delivery date was over 4 weeks ago so I called to make sure the package was still there. Joel was extremely helpful -- checked by the tracking #, then by street address -- no package. Very helpful and pleasant during the whole exchange. All of the negative reviews are, unfortunately, right on the money. The parking lot was completely full despite there being only two other customers there. Both of the women behind the counter were on their phones while people were in line, and made it seem like a favor when they finally provided service. Package pickup window was closed even though it was supposed to be open. The clerk who finally helped me insisted my boxes weren't there and were out for delivery. I was polite but firm because I knew they weren't and, frankly, I was tired of being lied to. Lo and behold, they were there, but it took 30 minutes to find them. It felt like pulling teeth. Black girl yelled at me grabbed my package while inwas writing the address and made the pen poke through the package. Then shoved it back at me and told me she was closed and slammed the window on my package and hands, said she was getting off work and she was done. They close at 3:39. It was 3:27. Crazy rude. Welp. I don't like writing bad reviews, but this US Post Office location could definitely use some improvement. Parking is always a a challenge, no matter what. Small parking lot and limited street parking, good luck. There's always a line of people at least 6-7 deep with maybe 2 people working. The employees here aren't the worst but definitely not the best. The other customers here are also somewhat rude, especially during COVID. I've seen people enter without masks, refuse social distancing and talk away on their cell phones at extreme volumes. Honestly, avoid this place if you can and go to a Fed Ex Office instead. read more

I called this branch of the post office because we had 300 prepaid books to ship out. They directed us to come to the loading dock which we did and we were told to put the packages in specific bins. 42 books out of the 300 never reached their destinations (they were evidently never scanned and either stolen or thrown away and we didn't have tracking because no one would scan the packages while we waited). The woman who runs the post office took no responsibility when we called her. My friend suffered more than $3k from this loss. So it's either corruption or sloth that plagues this branch and they should be investigated. Avoid at all costs! read more

The cherokee branch is honestly the only post office in this part of LA with nice workers, who assist fast, and open the branch on time (don't get me started with how bad the Fairfax branch is). The parking is annoying here, but at least they're open when they say they're open and you can get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. read more

I'm gonna throw this post office a bit of a bone, because the longtime employees there really do try their best, and the package pickup woman in particular is the hardest-working postal service worker I've ever met. I don't come here often, mainly because there are closer post offices to me, but for some reason, my address is assigned this location when I need to pick something up. I've dealt with far surlier and less helpful employees at other post offices, so I will commend the staff here at least. The facility itself has some problems, unfortunately. Despite having a big parking lot, I've never actually found a free spot, and have to find a street spot several blocks down. Even with a full lot, there are never more than 10 people inside, meaning these parked cars are tourists who walk up to Sunset/Hollywood Blvd. and don't want to pay. There needs to be some parking enforcement here to prevent this. Second, the interior always looks like a tornado blew through. There is trash EVERYWHERE. Do they even have a janitor? They need a janitor. If they have a janitor, the janitor needs to start working. read more

Their MANAGER (Connie) is the worst I've encountered!) But for one VERY SPECIAL EMPLOYEE, I'd with Antifa on them.lol KEREN MENDOZA IS THE ONLY USPS PERSON I'VE SPOKEN TO SINCE THIS DEBACLE OF AN INT'L SHIPMENT: APRIL-9th THAT NEVER EVEN MADE IT TO THE TARGET-COUNTRY (Germany), SPENT 4 MONTHS in FRANCE, & FINALLY WAS RETURNED TO THE US in SEPT. -- where it spent another 3+ WEEKS NOT BEING RETURNED. I've spent over 10-hours in total on hold for USPS, have written no fewer than 8 emails to various addresses including the Post Master General, Customer Service, tried filing claims, etc. Connie, the current manager of the Cherokee location BERATED ME when I requested assistance accelerating the time it took to return the package that SHOULD have been delivered!! She wouldn't even take my phone number. Her main emphasis..? Was that, whatever my problem was ... she just could not help me. You know, maybe she was right, maybe she couldn't. Not that there was anything empathetic, polite, or which exhibited a general motive to assist, as my only local liaison. However, the very next person who had proof her payments had been made for her PO Box was treated the exact same way. Run around, "not my fault," ... "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT-isms" ... etc. CONNIE RESENTS THE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PROBLEMS; regardless whether it's due to customer-ignorance of USPS procedure, or were it caused BY the USPS through their typical lackadaisical attitude, DISHONEST INDICES for transit time ... and better still ... take my situation: Me: Can I file a claim..? It's day-27 & isn't yet IN FRANCE!" USPS: You can't file a claim until it's been delivered or returned. Me: Sept-27. They returned my computer BROKEN. Can I file a claim..? USPS: I'm sorry, but you have to file a claim within 30 days. WT..!?? I've paid for shipping + insurance for an item no delivery was attempted, which took 15x the duration they were claiming (10 days) EVEN IN MAY, & JUNE, & JULY ... which they RETURNED for NO REASON ... BROKEN. And I have been insulted and ignored throughout the process. TRULY, Ms. Mendoza is the first person I've interacted with who's been POLITE, EMPATHETIC, and advised me accurately. There is NO JUSTIFICATION to retain an ABUSIVE PERSON as the store manager, as she's not only unhelpful, she's UNABLE to be helpful. On a previous shipment, as I'd had items stolen from my building, I created an inbound-label for my shipper, & marked the item, "HOLD FOR PICKUP" (an option that can be specified on your shipment -- SEE HIGHLIGHTED AREA OF ATTACHED PICTURE). When I went to pickup my product, Connie acted like it was sent to her station, FOR HER STATION! As in, she acted like it was THEIR PRODUCT!! I tried to show her the option (as you can see in the picture) and she said there's NO SUCH THING. And any such option is the means by which things are GIVEN TO THE POST OFFICE. Please do not think for a SECOND that this was "dry sarcasm" or something. I do not have Asperger's, and am perfectly adept at identifying humor, and playing along with it. This was a DISPUTE. She then said, "I ALWAYS RETURN ITEMS WHEN I RECEIVE THEM WITH THIS HOLD" ... I asked, why would you do that..? Someone paid to get it to you here -- and selects this option because CARRIERS DO NOT BOTHER GETTING SIGNATURES WHICH ENABLES PEOPLE TO STEAL OUR PACKAGES! (A literal EPIDEMIC of this building). Well it's USPS so expectations are already low. The employees here aren't bad at all. The problem I have with this post office is that there seems to be absolutely nothing done to maintain the building and the parking lot. It's filthy before you walk in. Also there is never anywhere to park in the small parking lot even when there seems to be not a lot of people in there. There must be people parking there during the day that aren't supposed to be there. read more

Wish I had read these reviews first to know what I was in for... I almost never write a bad review for a place because most of the time I think, "Whatever, people are just doing their best." The people here? Not even doing their worst. They're THAT bad. I had no choice but to go here after I missed a package and for some reason that ONE delivery attempt was the final one. I have never been to this location, but I went on a Saturday around 2 (an hour to closing) and it wasn't crowded. There was one customer waiting ahead of me. Because I'd never been there though, I walked in holding my package slip and went to the right. There are signs EVERYWHERE, so I stood back out of line to read where I should go. Suddenly, my focus is broken as I hear, "HELLO. HELLO. YES, YOU." A woman employee who was already helping a man was yelling to get my attention. I was so confused and my face looked it. "YEAH, YOU. THE ONE I'M LOOKING AT YOU. YOU NEED TO GO TO THE BLUE DOOR." Then, while everyone is looking at me like I did something wrong, she continues to laugh with another female employee (also helping a customer) at me, rolling her eyes. The man she was helping piled on with a joke at my expense, saying to her, "Like do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? It's English." And she laughed along with him. I hadn't said one word. I thought about not even writing this review since I won't ever come here again. But what if I didn't know English? What if I was hearing impaired? Please--if either of those apply to you, DON'T GO HERE. The woman who helped me get my package ended up being a gem, but I still can't give this place two stars. This place is the worst of all worlds! I paid for Priority Service with an expected delivery date of June 3rd well it's been SEVEN days and no delivery and no one knows where the now belated birthday card is. I spoke with manager and she informed me it says expected which means delivery could be the next day to several weeks! Which was not explained to me or I would have just driven from Hollywood to DTLA myself to deliver the card. She also said I was not paying for delivery I was paying for insurance and tracking. The tracking is useless all day on June 4th the tracking said my package will be delivered on June 3rd. Yup the day before. Today June 8th it says delivery will happen on June 8th. Also the tracking said it took 4 days to leave the Post Office on Cherokee, which she said is not true it left that day it probably was not scanned. So I got no delivery, useless tracking so I paid for nothing! Years ago my mail was being stolen because supposedly the arrow key was stolen from the mail carrier and there was nothing they could do because the key opens thousands of mail boxes. I explained I didn't care if it opened a million mail boxes if the post office can't secure the mail they are about as useful as a glass hammer. Once I contacted my Congressman's office all of sudden they could change the locks The same exact thing happened with packages I sent at the holiday they arrived way later than "expected" and the tracking tool was useless. I gave USPS the benefit of the doubt because at least that time my item was going across country during winter. So to recap the Post Office on Cherokee is a black hole for money, they will provide you with misinformation so you can not make an informed decision to not use their horrific service,which actually is no service since now SEVEN days later there is no delivery on a card that was only going 8 miles, take your money provide you with zero service, zero customer service and think that is fine. Contact your elected official and let them know the post office in it's current state is useless and needs to be dismantled. The USPS has once again demonstrated they are about as useful as glass hammer and this Post Office on Cherokee wins the prize for best misinformation and most useless service. read more

If I can only give a lower score... I have purchased a PO Box for last 15+ years at this location. Overtime the service has been getting worst. Rarely is a parking space available in the lot. I heard employees are taking the parking spots that are dedicated to the customers. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Connie Y. Wong a supervisor claimed USPS cannot find my package. And then I met Gerald Padilla. He flat out refused to help, basically said try again tomorrow, not my fault that it's 5 minutes after 5. Didn't give two craps that I actually left work early to try to get here before they close (at 5:30), and that I pay extra for this dis-service. Talking to him was more aggravating than talking to the DMV (if you can imagine that). What the hell do you think I do, sit around on my ass all day and take 2 hour lunches so I can come at hours convenient for you? And to add insult to injury, even when one of the other postal workers was kind enough to help me out (Xavier), this douchebag said to him, why are you helping this PO box, it's after 5. Had to go pick up a package (I freaking hate when things are sent "signature required"... who is around to sign for a package in the middle of the day?). I was full of trepidation because a visit to a USPS office is usually not pleasant. This was surprisingly easy! Even... YES, pleasant! There was ample parking in the lot. I didn't expect that. The mail/package pickup area was clearly marked AND even staffed. The line was very short. The man behind the counter was super friendly... even helped to decipher the practically illegible handwriting on the notification I had received. The entire thing took less than 7 minutes and I left happy and even with a smile! Whenever I have postal business, THIS is my go to. I would only come to this post office if you have a lot of time to spare. I was waiting for 45 mins for a lady to tell me she didn't have my mail that was on hold and she had zero contact information of who I could get in touch with to be sure my mail would be sent to my home from now on. I feel a simple customer service number would've been sufficient enough. I wasn't going to write a review until I learned that the gentleman in line behind me was waiting 45 mins just to simply pick up a package that was delivered to his P.O. Box. For some reason, this was the branch of the post office I went to whenever I ended up in Hollywood. I never read the reviews prior to just going here but now that I did...jeez. Although the location on Wilcox Ave. was somewhat closer, I DID read their reviews prior and was put off until I had to go since a piece of mail was rerouted there. I did not have a bad experience at that location as I had expected to (yes, I'm a true pessimist). Now note that my bad experience here was not due to any living employee there at this time, since I had no face-to-face contact. Reason I rate this lower is due to the fact I stopped by very early (around 6am) and was happy to see the lobby was open for the DIY shipping. I had an early work day so I was glad to see I could take care of this now and not have to worry about returning later if I got out early enough. I was back in my car within minutes. Problem came well over a week later, as I went to track my package since I never heard from the receiver. That the package was STILL sitting in LA, CA 90028. It was supposed to be sent to San Diego and to arrive within a few days, including the weekend. I kept in close touch with the receiver explaining the issue and I joined the usps.com site so I could file a claim concerning my package. Finally, things worked themselves out (and I received my proper refund due to me keeping track of this) but I never had this type of incident happen at another post office. This kind of makes me want to avoid this location, although things aren't looking too good with USPS in this area.
