It's an extremely gross Usps location, wouldn't be surprised to see a rat in these piles of trash. Collection bin is broken, all of their trash cans overfilled, trash scattered around the floor, and lots of smelly trash right outside their door. They never clean it. END OF JULY Tracking - your 3 orders are ready for pick up I come to post office - they are not there MID AUGUST I come to post office - they are not there. I ask lady to search carefully - after 30 min wait she says they are not there. 2ND HALF OF AUGUST - MID SEPTEMBER Every time I have a lunch I call their supervisors every day, hold on listening to "your call is very important to us bla bla bla someone will answer soon". Finally I reach someone, they connect with the office, and say my packages are there and ready to pick up. MID SEPTEMBER I come to the post office, tell the guy in blue window the story, he goes for his search and says they don't have my packages. I tell him to check with store manager, because he said over the phone to his supervisor that the packages are there. The guy says he checked, and they were probably sent back to sender. Right from the office I call to their supervisor, reach him in less than 20 min, he connects with store manager, store manager appears in the window with my packages. Despite dealing with a non-stop, wide array of customers, who are at times rather hostile, the handful of staff consistently respond with polite, professional and efficient service. Probably the worst postal office I have encountered. They never pick up the phone. I once tried calling periodically throughout the day during normal business hours and still could not get through. On the final attempt someone picked up the phone just to immediately hangup. No one at that office cares enough to do their job properly. Employees here are so unbelievably rude and seem to enjoy giving customers a hard time. There's usually a long line and not enough staff, and even with their is, if one of them gets irritated with a customer they will all close their windows and head to the back and leave the line standing out there for 20 minutes or half an hour. I've seen it happen. I've been given conflicting information about how to address my packages, within the same transaction! And then I call her on what she had just said 2 mins ago, and she gaslights me! Ugh, it's a nightmare every time I have to come here. But F that S, because now I'm using pirate ship and doing all my postage at home, and all I have to do now is drop my finished packages into the bin and not deal with their horrible attitudes. read more

UPDATE: Packages still going missing, envelopes that look like they contain checks arrive torn as someone has opened them to see what is inside. Boxes that look like Apple products arrive opened - this has happened three times to me, with the same type of item. The latest thing is someone there is stealing my very expensive pro hair treatments, the last box of Olaplex ( value $250), was meant to be delivered, then was delayed while at Cherokee USPS, it arrived two days late, EMPTY, with a USPS "we are sorry" note - no info on insurance claims, nothing - they just delivered the empty packaging with a sorry. This week, I am currently expecting two orders of the same product (value $500) , scheduled to be delivered two days ago. When I log on to USPS it says packages are being held at the post office "at customer request" - which isn't true. The update before that said "attempted delivery" but they didn't have building access (not true, I was home all day, and got other mail). I pretty much expect the Olaplex thief is doing their thing again - they must be thrilled I was stupid enough to reorder - twice. AVOIDDDD this damn place for passport photos & services !!!!! Wish I can give ZERO stars I paid the extra money to get my daughters passport expedited because we are leaving in a few weeks & I really do hope it comes in time now because of all the dumb mistakes/errors that they did here ! First, I live all the way in Chatsworth & this was the only passport place available last minute. So the drive from where I live to Hollywood is a nightmare to begin with already. I go & there is a sweet Filipino lady ( but she totally sucks ) who helped me out. She quickly took photos of my daughter and got all my documents ( returned a the photo copy of her fathers ID to me, why? Idk) she stated that she didn't need it. Anyways she tells me I'm all good & I can leave now... so I go home. I get home.. & I get a call from her stating that the photos were no good & to go to walgreens or something to take another pair of passport photos of my daughter & COME BACK to drop it off. Very annoying but what can I do at this point ? So I go get her passport photos done.. AGAIN & go back the next day & get my refund. The lady working that day then goes "oh what's this for" to the new passport photos.. are you freaking kidding me?! That's the whole reason I came here for... anyways thats that, they finally figure it out & I go home. Two weeks later ...I get a letter from the passport center stating that my daughters application cannot finish processing because it is MISSING THE PHOTO ID'S OF HER FATHER. ****face palm **** I had already gave it to that damn lady and she gave it back to me cause she didn't need it apparently. Now I have to pay extra money to get his letter over to Virginia so they can process it in time so I get it before we leave.. hopefully... I have been calling this branch to inquire about why they have not picked up from my business over the past 3 days even though I have schedule daily pick up until the end of 2021. I have been calling since 930am when they open and no one answered the phone until just now as I write this review. That is 7 hours of calling with no answer I am all for the USPS. I do TONS of business with them. However it is hard to support them while their employees continue to work in this unsatisfactory way. Why is finding a parking space at this location always a challenge?? Today, at 10:45am, I waited 10 minutes trying to park on their lot, which has around 30 parking spaces. Every single space was taken, even the off-limits entrance walkway and the two handicap spots were occupied. Yet, I didn't see any line(s) of customers. Two drivers had parked in the passway and left the hazard lights flashing while being inside the facility. One driver behind me was fedup and pulled into a newly vacated handicap spot (with no visible handicap tag). And three cars behind me left in frustration. After a 15-minute wait and without a chance to park, I left as well - angry for having wasted my time and not being able to ship my gift. This is not the first time I've waited to park there, which makes me wonder if some of these customer parking spaces are actually being leased/rented out and occupied by people working in the area?! read more

I waited about 15 min to ask her for a specific priority flat rate box and she said they didn't have them which is a lie since they always have them in the back. I've spend at least $1,000 on USPS Priority a year so I know the drill. She was too lazy to get one for me. Wilcox Post Office is way better and the staff is the best!! I came in with a box to ship a medium sized box but as I went through the door the doorway ripped a small part of the cardboard. I asked the clerk if I could get 2 inches of tape to fix that tear and she said no, I would have to pay for a $9 roll of tape on my own. I said I just want to be sure that the damage doesn't get worse during shipping. But she said "you just want something for free, that's all you want. You want us to give you something for free." Nevermind that I paid $100 for postage, she wouldn't give me a 2 inch strip which would probably be a value of 1 cent. She also said that if she gave me a small piece of tape "she would go to jail, because that would be stealing." This is customer service in 2020 with the US Post Office. read more

Today I had an interest experience! I needed to get a package today for my birthday party that is tomorrow and unfortunately it wasn't delivered so I decided to take a chance and just show up at the Post Office! The hour was an hour wait WHICH SUCKED and this one guy said that there was NO WAY that they'd be able to find it for me on a busy day... I decided to wait until it calmed down and an AMAZING woman named Quanisha helped me and she was soooo patient and willing to help me!! After about 30 minutes of searching my package, she just wouldn't give up and then finally she came over to me and said HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Having had my PO Box there for over 6years I can say they just keep getting better and better. One thing I am glad they seem to have changed was the male manager that they used to have. A horrible rude African American lady was like I can't help you. I tried to ask if they could direct me to another location. She said no I am counting out. We are closed. This post office is close and convenient so its a 2-star or it would be zero. They close at 5 to begin with (most people do not even get off work by then) and will stand in front of the door or lock it on you to prevent you from coming in between 15-30 minutes ahead of time. I don't understand the closing early to close on-time. Parking spaces are usually taken by workers, so do not come during busy times if you don't want to park on the street. The attitudes here are less than desired. There's a new guy working in the front who seems nice and is always ready to help. The rest.....meh. However, one lady that works there named Connie is a nightmare. She's rude, pushy, acts like you are bothering her, and don't even bother asking her questions. She will either shrug her shoulders, roll her eyes, say "I don't know" or say "whatever you want" without actually providing any help. If she's at the window, wait for someone else. read more

I came in and the worker told everyone the post office is closed because everyone is on their lunch break and no one is here to help us. Really?! When is the post office ever closed because EVERYONE is on their lunch break. She says I can supposedly do it on the machine instead. I ask her for an extra pen because all of them are broken and she disappears for 5 minutes as I can hear her talking loudly through the other side of the wall (obviously not looking for one). So I have to knock on their door and ask another worker for a pen who disappears again for several minutes. I try to use the machine as she says and I keep getting an error, but of course no one is there to help because everyone at that post office is lazy. So I left and go to another post office. I loathe going to the post office. This location has TERRIBLE parking and the employees have even said that the employees park in the front lot. This is LA and parking is scarce. I think USPS should find an alternative situation for their employees at the Cherokee station. Once inside, the area is usually clean and organized. The employees try their best to take care of each customer in a timely manner. But, short staffing and "rush hour" times do create large lines. My suggestion is to use their machine in the lobby to mail a package yourself (if possible). Avoid going at popular times, such as when they first open, are getting ready to close and during the lunch hour. read more

I come by every week to pick up my mail because the mailman doesn't want to enter my apartment complex whenever they see a dog outside. That's beside the point. It's already a huge inconvenience to carve out time to pick up my mail, but the worker who is in charge of pick ups was helpful from the moment I started having this problem. However, out of the many times I've been here, I've seen men mistreat the workers along with regular people who are here for the same parcel services. It's sick. One one occasion, a huge man started talking s**t to a woman for telling him to wear a mask. Mind you, the city had reinstated the mandate. But he started literally BARKING at her, harassing her about her weight, meanwhile no one did anything. I couldn't even say anything as this dude was twice my size. I understand USPS is an all around gruesome experience for many, but for some reason, assholes at this location are emboldened beyond belief. There's a reason why US Post Offices are closing throughout the country, it's from human factor more than just technological influence. I have a package showing "No Status" when I tried tracking online. I've approached my home Post Office at the Cherokee location 3 times this week and was turned away each time because the Post Office Delivery Supervisor Mr Smiley (believe me.. I'm not smiling at all) was too busy to speak to me. Out of courtesy and patience I've left my phone number as option for Mr Smiley to call me regarding my missing package. Unfortunately no one else could help me with this matter. I'm also a busy person but I've made effort leaving work 3 times this week in attempt to find out where's my package. It's the lack of dedication and flat out not doing his job that employees like Mr Smiley is neglecting his paid duty working for the Post Office. Mr Smiley is the main factor that the USPS has such poor opinion with the masses. Don't get me wrong, not all USPS Employees are as neglectful and lack of dedication as Mr Smiley. But in general, trying to go to the post office makes going to DMV a pleasurable experience. If I was Mr Smiley's Manager, I'd pull him into the office and have a good chat about his paid role within the USPS Org. Imagine if I my package was for medical reasons. I highly encourage people to share their experience on YELP plus other consumer service sites. It's the only way to hold people like Mr Smiley accountable!!! Went there and they were unable to find the package and told me they were probably trying to redeliver it. I left my number and they said they would call me when the carriers come back to let me know when they found the package. No call. I call to find out this isn't even the number listed on yelp to the station it's 3234604830 and they never answer. I scheduled a redelivery for the package but no package. I have lived in Hollywood for twenty years and have had many issues with this poorly run facility. I never use this Post Office to send anything - unfortunately, I have no control over the fact that they handle the incoming mail for the area in which I reside. I have had numerous packages lost, never to be found. I once sent a small bubble envelope, with some little trinkets, to my mother in Miami. She received a plastic zip lock bag containing an empty envelope which had been ripped open. The problem I am currently experiencing is that whenever our regular mail carrier is on vacation, the substitute postal delivery person does not do their job - and by that I mean, they simply don't deliver the mail. They show up between 6-7 PM, if they show up at all. The mail the do bring, is usually left on top of the clearly labeled mailboxes - even those which have been addressed correctly. I find boxes, which would easily fit into mailboxes, left on the floor in the lobby of our bldg. I get peach colored slips in the mail when someone was home to receive a parcel. The substitute mail person never bothered to call, buzz or knock on our door - let alone to redeliver. As a result, many items are lost or returned to sender - all because of someone too lazy to do a job that actually pays pretty well. I am sure there are plenty of people who Today I went online to track a small parcel I have been expecting - and according to the Delivery Confirmation information, the package was delivered at 6:08 PM. There was nothing in my mailbox, nor on top of it. There was nothing left by my front door. What recourse do I have? It's my word against a lazy, incompetent post office worker. read more
