Somehow a package meant for me and requiring my signature and photo ID was picked up by some random person who isn't even of the same gender. It seems impossible, but it happened. And I've had more than one Amazon package marked "delivered" that never showed up at my house. And I've watched a mail carrier stick the yellow sorry-you-weren't-here-to-sign-for-it slip in my mailbox when she didn't have a package in hand or bother to ring my doorbell. Not sure what that's about. Oh, and the mail carriers insist on writing that I can pick up my packages at 8:30, even though this branch doesn't open until 9. In short, I'd recommend having your Amazon/Ebay/Canadian Viagra packages sent to your place of work in order to avoid the Bermuda Triangle that is the Eagle Rock Post Office. (Note: none of this applies to the Rock and Roll Mail Carrier. Eagle Rock residents know who he is. The fact that there's a mail carrier who blasts Iron Maiden from his truck as he makes his rounds almost makes up for the general crappiness that is mail delivery around here.) read more

This is the worst post office there is. I'm so sad that this is my neighborhood post office. If I could rate this place 0 star, I would. I hope the management team will read this and will look into making serious changes. I've moved to this neighborhood over 10 years ago and it seems like the customer service here hasn't improved or has gotten worse. I dread going here. It would take me half an hour to wait in line to get a stamp is the machine is broken in the front. Picking up a package, I would have to make sure I have half and hour to an hour. Over the last 6 months, I have had at least 5 packages that I've dropped off at the post office not get scanned in, not arrive to it's destination, and sit in limbo. One of those was dropped off here at this specific location. Not complaining about it, I understand things happen though I wish lost packages wasn't one of them. Due to this, I've resorted to standing in lines to have my packages scanned in front of me so I can get a receipt. Mind you everything is already prepaid. This is NOT the post office I usually go to-- my preference is Burbank primarily because I have a PO box there and most of the staff is friendly and accommodating even when I walk in with my bag full of packages (never more than 15-20). I came to Eagle Rock PO since I had errands to do in the area. One other customer and she was already being helped and two employees behind the counter. I asked to get a receipt for my packages and let her know everything was already paid for. Then I began unloading my bag. After the first package she scanned, the employee already started making a big deal about the number of packages I had. No, I do not have a manifest because I didn't print my labels off the USPS website. If I DID, I would have presented it to you because I really do like to make peoples' jobs easier when I can. Ms. Attitude was making a shit about it, and need I say the entire time I was there, there was basically nobody waiting to be helped. I will stick with Burbank post office when I can and if I ever do need to resort to a eagle Rock again, I will not give you a manifest even if I do have one just because of the fact that you're a lazy b*tch. So I wait in line to fill out the yellow Vacation Hold card and give it to the nice lady. I return from a one-week trip to an overflowing mail box advertising to anyone passing my house that I am gone. Checks, packages. magazines....all falling out of an overstuffed box. This mail carrier for the Lynn street and Granada street area is the absolute worst. He constantly holds things up in his truck and carries them around for days without dropping them off. I was waiting for a delivery which I knew from the alerts, was on his truck since Sunday morning on Christmas Day. The alert told me it was on his truck and out for delivery. It wasn't until today, Wednesday the 28th of December, 2016 did he have the decency to look around his truck and find my package to deliver. Well after Christmas. He is the stupidest, laziest and most incompetent mail carrier in the metro area. What's new right? What's funny is he actually printed up a note saying "how nice it had been to deliver mail to my address this year". I suppose in the hope of getting a Christmas gift this year. Yeah, fat chance. I had ordered 3 Hello Kitty purses and someone #$@% opened my my package and put a book inside the bag and re-taped it. I receive a delivery slip saying that I was not home and that I needed to go pick up my items. When nobody ever knocked on my door,. I get to the post office and I notice my package had been opened. I told them right away wtf is this. They tell me they don't know and that I didn't have to sign for it. Well I did not sign but I placed a report. Knowing that they would not do anything about it. Although it is unbelievable, service in the Eagle Rock branch's area keeps getting worse and worse. I mailed bills from the drop box at my complex on November 12, some of them addressed locally, and it took an average of a week for any of them to arrive. One of them still has not arrived after 11 days. Next month, ALL of my bill payees will be charging me late fees, thanks to the Eagle Rock branch. What do they do, sit on their outgoing mail for a few days until they feel like dealing with it? And please DON'T tell me to mail things directly from the mail slot inside the Post Office; the last time I tried that, it took my bills THREE WEEKS to arrive. Their corner mailboxes are not safe, they say mail is constantly being stolen from them but they have no plans for dealing with it or even warning the customers. This is a really bad branch with terrible service and a terrible attitude. I urge everyone to go to the "Contact Us" feature at USPS.com every time Eagle Rock screws up tour mail, because nothing will get better until people complain. I moved, and also submitted an official change of address, and the USPS still delivered a package to my old address... well they claimed they did. I then contacted the new people at that address and when there with them to open their new mailbox, and it wasn't there, nor any of my other mail, so apparently the USPS are corrupt liars that decided to pocket my packages. Nice job! Also, I once had to chase down the delivery woman a couple days before christmas to get my package (already being delivered 2 days late, because of USPS!) I needed as it was christmas presents before I drove out of town. I finally caught up to her, blocks away and hours still from hitting my area, and she found the package and started to give it to me, but then I didn't have an ID card on me (I was running, didn't have wallet) and so she took it back out of my hands and told me to come back. What a *&(#$(*&! So anyway, I ran home, and ran back, finally found her. She took one look at me, smirked, and then closed up her truck and proceeded to deliver mail to the whole street before coming back, so 45 minutes of waiting later, plus the running time in between, and I finally got the package, which was waaaaay late already (it was sent 2 day mail, USPS just decided to lose it when it got to the ER Post Office). I have zero use for these stupid people, sure some of them are great, but others are just wastes of life! read more

If this is your local post office beware : Unorganized with absolutely no follow through. A package I was waiting to receive was scanned out for delivery according to the tracking information and never arrived. My actual tracking log for this package has been sitting in limbo since April 27th. I've spoken with different supervisors over the phone with conflicting information regarding the delivery status. I was also told on two different occasions that the Occidental Student Mail Pick Up was responsible for taking my package . I am not an Occidental student and do not live on or near the campus... Obviously furious they would hand my package over to a complete stranger , I was then told they gave me the wrong information and confused my claim with another claim and are still "investigating" my claim. Which speaks volumes to the lack of professional care. After speaking with 1800-ask-usps for the 5th time in the last few weeks, I finally found the one person who seems to care about follow through. The customer service representative kindly forwarded my claim to consumer affairs. After reading all the other reviews about missing packages from and to this location it sounds like this branch needs an internal affairs investigation. Something very strange is going on. read more

If it weren't for one particular employee, this post office would get a 4 or 5 rating from me. There is an old guy here (his picture appears in another review!!) that is so rude to both the customers and his fellow employees that it taints the whole place. You can feel the difference in the atmosphere when he is there and when he isn't. I've seen him go off on his customers as well as be very aggressive and confrontational with his coworkers. I've found another post office to go to - just isn't worth the stress and hassle to deal with this man. The rest of the staff is quite nice and helpful. The lines are a bit long sometimes, but that's true of everyplace these days. I guess what they say about 'one bad apple' is true..... read more

I had until recently made a review which was negative. They corrected their mistake for a package I thought lost and arrived at my home faster than expected. They're not the best service for deliveries but there is a big effort happening where packages get delivered faster that other delivery services out there. read more

The management of this post office must have changed because they went from being very efficient to dismal. My mail is now irregular, is delivered after dark sometimes, and lately they have lost a piece of mail which required a signature on a pink confirmation slip left on my door that I signed and handed to the mail carrier. It was never delivered,and now is lost. Any inquiry is met with near malice from the management. What the heck is going on? I want my old post office back. With USPS cutbacks they have gone from 3, to 1 person working the counter. This Post Office is usually quieter than others in the City though with not much wait; especially if you go 10am-noon. SO, I do have to say that all the people here are AMAZING. The only problem is the crazy parking scenario where people are double parked and the line is so long, you wait at least 20 mins to mail one little thing. That is also the reason for the parking lot being so backed up. If they had a least 2 tellers in there, the line would move faster and the parking lot would be freed up. This post office is a Joke. I used to get my mail and packages right away and to the right address. I have a package out in limbo that I was suppose to receive on August 14th, and its been hopping around different post offices from 90041, 90043, 90051. Dang I live in 90042, how hard is it to get a package to the right post office. You guys are a bunch of idiots, stop hiring retarded people to deliver the mail. They even wrote on the mailbox the address to our apartment when the building number is on the wall a few feet from the mailbox, are your mail delivery people blind or something. I wish I could give a negative review here. 1 star is too much. This office forced us to place our mailboxes on the front fence here at my 5-plex on Avenue 57 by the metro stop. In that location it has no security and its been repeatedly accessed by people with keys and the mail stolen over the years. I've filed complaints with the postal inspectors to no avail. Speaking with this office is a dead end. They are uninformed and unwilling to give any sort of help. The supervisor refuses to speak to you if you have an issue. They've earned their low score. I wish there were mail alternatives to using this post office, I'd gladly switch and pay more. I've switched to delivery via e-mail whenever possible. read more

There is plenty of parking. Homeless folks tend to hang out on the door step asking for money with a handwritten sign. I usually attend during the week on my lunch breaks, as there are usually only about 3 folks maximum in line. I went today and there was an employee in line taking your order on a paper that you end up handing to the teller. I liked the attention. read more

Some workers are nice and some are not like anywhere you go. The reason for 3 stars is because they put new workers in the front during the busiest hour of the operation. Yes, the line stretches way back. Also, there is a "pick up" notice hanging on the front but once a person is standing there others can't see where the pick up line is. And of course, time to time there are homeless people begging for money right before the driveway entrance and the workers won't do anything about it. Nothing wrong with them there, but the old guys sometimes looks like he is going to have a heat exhaustion. read more

Helpful folks here. My box was too big so the early morning guy comes up and cheerfully takes the package to the back office. I wanted to double check on a box I dropped off because the tracking wasn't being updated so a guy takes the time to look for it, brings it back out so I can see, and explains how these types of return to vendor shipping labels require additional processing that may delay status updates. I got there just after closing and the guy manning the door allows me to slip in and do business. The facilities can use new doors and paint but the people working here are great. read more
