Warren's hardly my usual stomping grounds, but I had time to kill and chores to get done after a…read morelunch date with my beau. As the nearest outpost of the USPS, the Mound Road post office became a pit stop to ship out packages and cards. At midday, this place is hopping. The very narrow parking lot does not easily accommodate larger vehicles, which of course means every SUV and truck tried to squeeze themselves in tighter than a hipster wearing skinny jeans from the junior's department. I managed to snag a spot from someone on their way out not far from the door. Expect patience, though, as space is at a premium. I snagged a bubble envelope on the way in, and found the usual assortment of boxes, mailers, and prepaid envelopes to be significantly larger than my hometown Ferndale array. A point to Warren there. Other supplies were helpful, but I just snagged a pen and copied down an address while waiting in line. Postal counter space is equally at a premium, so for the last-minute mailers, please take your tape and boxes outside if it's a busy time. The line has to snake around past you and may contribute to a real sense of claustrophobia. Service was good from clerks with a smile, and one of them was receiving Easter egg "chicks" made by a regular customer. The craft project was adorable and I wanted nothing more than to steal one all for myself. Apparently they've earned a loyal clientele over the years, which is always a nice sign. But the staff were good about scanning everything in and helping me pick out a few stamps for the collector in my family, though I fear I may have taken a little longer than my usual outings. Nonetheless, they didn't make me feel rushed or like a pariah.

I been extremely disappointed with usps especially this location in particular. We are an online…read moreretail store & we ship orders out weekly. When we have scheduled pickups & the mail carriers picks up the package, we immediately get a email confirming our scheduled packages has been picked up. Lately our packages are getting picked up but we are not receiving our email confirmation when usps picks up the package & then neither you or your customer can track the package while the status stays "awaiting collection" which is completely ridiculous & absolutely unacceptable. This affects our store in more than one way negatively costing now & later. I'd appreciate if you guys can speak to your male scheduled Pickup carriers to actually do their job and scan the package when picking it up otherwise don't work at USPS!!!! you should not be picking up packages and not scanning so the customer can track it. That's part of what they paid you guys for. Top it off when you call the phone number here they won't speak to you unless they have a tracking number which you paid them for only to give you an invalid one making it impossible to speak to anyone about how to fix issues they create for you!!!

EVERY TIME I call for assistance, nobody is available. I have to work my way through their incompetent AI call center every other month regarding a new issue. Going in person isn't much better due to racist staff as others have already mentioned... My latest issue that's finally driven me to write out a review? Whoever delivered my mail broke our key and instead of reporting it, having my mail delivered directly, or literally any of the other smart options at their disposal, they just left the broken key in our mailbox. I can't access my mail and I'm driving myself ragged trying to get an agent (not the useless AI bot!) on the phone. I've called about 6-8 times by now with no luck. I've submitted a support request, scheduled callbacks, but haven't been able to get anyone on the phone. This is the worst service I've ever received from a post office.

If I can, I will plan to go to this post office because the customer service is so much better here than it is at other post offices around the area. Instead of a helpful suggestion she stood there and waited for the package to be handed to her, then stated, "Hope it gets there." ‍. When asking for a small 1 inch piece of tape to secure an unsealed letter she claimed she had no tape. This was after I waited about 15 minutes in line to mail it. While leaving I witnessed her wrapping another package with a roll of tape to secure it. She couldn't find it in her heart to give me a 1 inch piece of it for my letter? I haven't been back...probably will never go back. I just don't understand the attitude problems of some of these workers. Maybe they ought to get a walking route to funnel their emotions and just be grateful. It seriously makes me wonder what in the world could be so terrible that you'd want to try and make someone else feel their pain. I call this a "C challenge". I challenge myself to make someone else smile and be happy. Makes me feel more grateful than I already am.
