I can't describe the level of unprofessional customer service this postal service has. I called to ask about passport applications. The gentleman who answered the call asked me where I live in a very strong tone. I answered that I reside in an area outside of the city of Pacific Palisades, he then proceeded to misinform me that the regulations stated that I was not permitted to go to that postal office for passport services and that he gave priority to Palisades residents. I told him that the postal office in my city did not provide passport services and he then called me a liar. I could not believe what I was hearing, I asked for his name and he refused to provide his name then had a complete meltdown on me (classical postal service behavior). As others have brought up, the woman who works there "Yvonne" is a nasty venomous woman who has nothing to do but be nasty to people all day. Worst run post office in the state of California, bar none. Service to be avoided at all costs. Make the trip to Santa Monica if you need something done competently and without someone being bossy and horrible to the customers as if her job is doing you a "favor"... This post office needs to be investigated, no question. Also always get wrong mail as others have commented (our neighbors of various addresses) at least once a week. No idea how they are at passport service, but as its a post office I care about mail service, to which there is just about zero, and for years, it's been like this, and nobody does a thing about it. We have issued many complaints of various kinds and always the same results, nothing done, nobody cares. In post office now and it is unreal. She has been in the back "looking" for my priority mail package. Yvonne something or the other. There are concert tickets in there and were sent 2 day priority. Btw they do NOT redeliver like they should for that increased price. So she sent a guy out to say it wasn't here at all and they don't know where it is. I have been here 45 minutes. I went in today for my passport. This is the worst experience I have ever had in post office. People that work there are extremely unprofessional, slow and disorganized and to top all above, very rude. Several of us were waiting in line for over an hour and if I did not complain, we would probably be still standing there now. They were only 2 people helping, one of which (the male that was actually kind) but unfortunately new and had no idea what to do. The other person, very rude female, was helping him and therefore could not help others. The person who assists with the passport was not there for over an hour and when she returned to her desk, she was not nice at all either. We were told by the manager that we were not priority and we had to wait until there is no line. (that clearly does not happen very often in any post office). When I returned back to agency helping me with my passport I shared with them what a horrible experience I had and they said they were sorry that this post office has this reputation.....I am not sure what can be done...but I am positive that nobody should be treated with such disrespect These people do not deserve any stars at all read more

Went this morning to obtain a passport for my child and had the best experience. After waiting hours at other USPS offices where the tellers were rude and pushy, yelling at me to make appointments, I called this location and was told it was walk-in only. We waited for one person ahead of us and it only took 15 minutes! The SM USPS told us 30-40 minutes each. We were thrilled for the painless passport experience. It helps to have your check ready and forms filled out ahead of time. Very nice lady as well :) read more

I was having trouble retrieving my mail after it was on a vacation hold. Though I was initially frustrated by their not knowing where the mail was, I was greatly surprised and appreciative that the person I spoke with, Yvonne, found my mail and personally delivered it to my house. We routinely receive our mail delivery between 6pm-8pm. Some days we don't even get mail delivered. It comes super early the next morning, and then we get our regular late in the evening delivery as well. Twice now we have placed a Hold Mail request when we were going on vacation. Since we have a Ring doorbell, we were able to watch as the mail carrier delivered the mail on 3 out of the 7 days we were gone, even though we had placed a Hold Mail request, and it had been confirmed online and through the mail. Additionally, the Palisades Post Office delivered mail to the entire neighborhood that was under mandatory evacuation due to the Getty fire. I called to ask why they were delivering, since we were not allowed to go home to pick up our mail, and we had packages sitting on our porch for anyone to take. They suggested we file a Hold Mail request. I did. And they continued to deliver the mail for the 3 days that we were out of our home, even though I had again placed a Hold Mail request, over the phone. I went to pick up the mail and asked why they had not held it. The woman I had given my Hold Mail request to over the phone came to the window and told me that the other workers in the post office told her that they did not accept Hold Mail requests over the phone. Really? On the USPS site it gives you THREE ways to request that your mail be held. One way is in person, one way is online, and one way is OVER THE PHONE. This post office is really incompetent, and there doesn't seem to be anyone there who cares about complaints. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. They consistently lose our incoming mail. Only the very important stuff too, like checks, packages and personal property. They once lost my only pair of glasses, which had cost me $30 in shipping fees! We didn't get any mail all week last week, and again this week, they've lost yet another of my client payment checks. They've either delivered it to some random person, or it's lost in the post office somewhere. Happens all the time. Customer service is subpar, at best. My advice to Pacific Palisades residents to do anything important online and avoid this place whenever possible. read more

Paid $1 for a change of address. So what does the post office do? They incorrectly listed my residence as "vacant" and put a HOLD on my mail! I received no mail for a week until I inquired. Apparently all of my mail was returned to sender during this time! Unbelievable! I don't know who botched this but I've grown to expect nothing less than a clown show from this post office. A few years ago I went through a similar ordeal. Sometimes I feel like I'm being punk'd by this post office but it's not a joke. This post office consistently fails in service. Mail in the Palisades is delivered late, or often lost. The lines are out the door with one person working the counter. They make little attempt to make sure they have enough people to deal with the lines on hand. The shipping boxes are often not stocked properly, always out of something. The worst of it, if you send a priority mail box from this location it will consistently arrive a day later than other post offices. I send flat rate boxes to the same address a few times a month. When sent from the Brentwood Post Office they arrive in two days, sent from the Palisades Post Office they arrive in 3 days or later. What do they do hold the packages there for the day because they are so inefficient? It doesn't matter who the Post Master is at this place, it never changes. Go anywhere but here. read more

We live in the Palisades and our mail often goes missing or gets delivered to the wrong address. We get our neighbors mail about once a week. If you go into the post office they rip you off for postage. If you go to the kiosk the same parcel will be dollars less than if you go to the window. The Korean lady doesn't understand you and the African American lady doesn't seem to care if she has a job. It's pitiful customer service even for a government agency. They probably should be investigated for fraud. read more

Awful awful awful! The older Asian lady in passports is extremely rude and not knowledgeable at all. After making a special trip all the way down there, we ended up walking out with no passport. Had to drive to Malibu after, and they were stellar there. Do not recommend this Palisades location at all! read more

PASSPORT WARNING - if you're hoping to walk-in and submit a passport application, they no longer accept walk-ins - it's by appointment only as of March 21st. However, they haven't updated their website to say this. I had to walk in to find this out, and when I called to make an appointment (and complain that everything online says they only offer walk-ins), they said they've been receiving a lot of calls complaining that their website has not been updated with this new rule. It's been almost a month and they haven't done anything about it! What a waste of time especially since I now have to wait a month to get an appointment here. read more

My experience here was that it was really helpful. All the employees were so nice and considerate and showed great customer service. They went out of their way to explain things and make sure I had everything I needed whereas most post offices would not provide that level of assistance filling out paperwork and answering questions. They would expect you to do it all yourself. They were very perfectionistic so as to make sure that there were no errors in anyones application which I appreciate. They had a lot of patience with their customers. The people in front of me in line were being so rude to the employees and they still handled the situation by being nice compassionate and helpful. And to apply for passport, I didn't have to make an appointment or wait in a crazy line! They take walk ins and the process was really fast. I think these people complaining don't know how good they have it. A valuable resource is being provided right in their backyard at their convenience that isn't even provided at many other post offices and they don't seem to realize the stuff they are complaining about is stuff a lot of people don't even have half as easy access to in the first place. but that's just me. I would return it was a very easy experience getting what i needed and the reason i felt compelled to come to yelp and write a review in the first place was because of the really nice customer service. This is one of the best passport places to go to!!! While my family had to fix one of paper documents but they made sure that we had the right documents! It was so nice!! My family and I saw Kobe Bryant there with his family getting their passports so maybe if you go, you might see a famous person there. Remember to call ahead and make an appointment so that you don't have to wait in line. Also the people there are super nice!! read more

i called this branch 2 x and they were so nice ...and I went there for my passport and it only took me exactly 8 minutes ,Unbelievable , all the employees are kind and the Korean Lady that assisted was soo GREAT ,I will surely recommend this branch to my relatives and friends read more

My package was sent to this post office by mistake on 11/17/2015 should have gone to south gate . Tracking tells me it's just sitting there it's now the 22nd.
