"Survival Guide to the Post Office" I have patronized many of the post offices in the Pleasanton area. Here's the key thing to remember: The clerks are trained to sell you the MOST EXPENSIVE option. Do not fall for their tricks. Here are my secret tips: #1) Use the "blue" machine. It can process almost all of your needs, and you can avoid talking to a clerk. #2) Don't fall for the clerk's suggestion to buy "Express Mail." It is very expensive--that's why they want you to buy it. #3) Use "Media Mail" for books. The clerks won't tell you about this option, because it is cheap. They might even try to talk you out of it. Do not believe them. #4) Use "First Class" instead of Priority for items less than 1 pound. It will also go air mail, the same as Priority, and is much cheaper. #5) The "flat rate" Priority boxes are a bad deal in many cases, especially for lighter items. You can check the price for Priority on the Blue machine. If you know of more tips, please post them.

Pleasanton Post Office - while it might appear quiet on this side, the other side is quite busy.

Lady at the front was rude and handled the situation with an attitude. And after trying to gather my stuff, she rushed to the next person

I went to get some business done here and I've never seen a more pleasant USPS office. They were fast and really nice.

Completely rude employees here and lack customer service skills. Employees quickly rush you away if you have any kind of questions.

What an awful experience. I should have went to the one I usually go to, and the one I went to…read moreafterward was just a night-and-day difference. This will be my first and last visit to the Pleasanton location. When I went in, said hi, and asked who I believed to be the manager if the workstations have Microsoft Word, she didn't even greet me and just said, "I don't know. You can just go to the workstation and see". How do you not know if Microsoft Word is on there? You work here and should know... I went to the workstation section and saw that one workstation was empty. But then I glanced at some folders that I could use to put my documents in. I decided to take a minute or so to take a look. But you know what? I shouldn't have done that and someone else took my spot, as there was another customer who was already using the workstation. I waited for either of them to finish, and even the alarm sounded for the other customer to finish their session and get off. No employee came to tell them to let me use the station. I went to that same manager and I asked her if that alarm was to let people know that the session was over. She said yes. I then asked her if you could tell the customer to let me use the workstation, and she didn't even want to make the customer accountable and stop using the workstation to give me a little bit of time to get my work done, so she said, "Unfortunately, you would have to wait until the customer to finish what they were doing for you to be next". After that, I waited a couple more minutes for that customer I initially waited on to finish, but that one still wasn't done. I left and will never come back. However, my visit at my usual FedEx Office location was a WHOLE lot better! Workstations were clear the whole time, and I got my document printed very quickly! Just don't go to the one in Pleasanton unless you want to wait 30+ minutes to get something quick done.

Great experience with Mo. I used print and go but needed a photograph printed on a high quality…read morepaper. He spent 15 minutes finding different options and printed it out for the price of $5.
