This place only got one star because I HAD to give it one. Otherwise, I would have just skipped that part entirely. I came into this office on Thursday to ship a priority package to South Korea. I printed out labels and postage ahead of time online. Once I did this, I was confused as to what to do with all 4 labels. I also read that it's smart to include the address in Korean as well, but the online labeling wouldn't accept the Korean characters. At any rate, the whole issue of addressing it correctly was completely confusing. So I went in to ask for assistance with labeling my package properly before I shipped it off. At first, I was thrilled. There were only 2 windows open, but only 4 of us in line. While I was in line a clerk came up to me and asked me if I was ready to ship my package, and I told her that I had questions with the labels but that I'd purchased postage for it already. She directed me to a window, and Ramona was the clerk. Ramona has to be THE RUDEST person I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with at the PO! It wasn't just that she never cracked a smile that got me, but she was just rude and unhelpful. She didn't ask me what she could help me with, she said, "What did you need to do with this package?" When I told her I was confused by what to do with the labels, she curtly informed me that all 4 of them were supposed to go with the package, and that I should have read that online. I told her I didn't recall reading that online. When I asked her if I should also include a label I'd printed in Korean on the box, she asked me why, and then pointed to the USPS label and told me the address was already on those. I reiterated (since she clearly wasn't listening) that the USPS labels weren't in Korean and also wouldn't accept the Korean characters online. She just shook her head. Then she put 3 of them in a sticky pocket and attached it to the box and handed me the 4th one. I asked her why she was giving me the 4th label, as she told me all 4 were supposed to go with the package, and she said just the 3 but that I was supposed to have included one to turn into the PO. I said the website indicated that because I bought the postage online that the PO already had a record of it. So she looked it up and it was there, of course. "Oh, it's here." :/ Ramona proceeded to weigh my package and again, just as rude as she could, informed me that I recorded it as 13 pounds, but it was 14. So I asked if I could just purchase the extra postage. She was clearly incensed that stupid-ol'-me had done that. She didn't answer me, she just rang it up. Then she shifted the package to her other side and just sat there. I said, "Are we done?" She nodded and turned her head away from me. No "thank you," "have a good day," "is there anything else I can help you with"... NOTHING. What a horrible person! I actually needed some stamps but didn't want to deal with her cranky butt another minute. I don't think my questions were so difficult that she needed to act that way. Now I'm wondering if my package got processed correctly! She was so horrible, I don't trust that she treated it appropriately, since she couldn't even treat ME appropriately! I rang the bell at the customer service window on my way out and no one came the first time. The second time, someone came abruptly and told me there was no supervisor available, and that anyone in a management position was at lunch. Could be true... it was a little after noon. Not that anyone from the post office cares, I'm sure, but I will NEVER go back to that horrible location. I did file a complaint online. I will update if I receive any answer to it. read more

been living in rancho For 10 years, thank you for your apologies, this is the worst post office Ive been to, friendly staff: NO, My mail get put in my neighbors behind me's box and im lucky that they bring it to me, but if it doesnt go to them, who the hell knows where it goes. The friendlist person there is the supervisor whos name is Frohl. if you ever need help, ask for him ,the others are space cadets. I worked there for 3 months, and the only thing they didnt tell me to do was get them coffee and wash their car. other than all that, the lines are long, and they do have drive up mail boxes for your convience, yet the other day I went by and there was mail sticking out of those boxes. Came in today to get a PO Box and brought my son with me today to see "where the mail comes from." I got an elderly Asian man who must of been having a bad day because he was completely rude and short with me. I then filled out the form he gave and got back in line with a very nice elderly Caucasian lady who answered my questions the best he could. I was taken back when they told me I would be placed on a list to get a box and when asked how many are on the list no one could say; is there an official list? Idk but the first teller definitely killed the fun of the post office hype for my son. read more

I noticed that a package that was supposed to be delivered to me had the incorrect street address when I viewed the tracking number. I tried calling this branch about 10 times to try to notify them so my package would be delivered. Nobody ever answers the phone even during business hours. It gives the option to leave a message but immediately hangs up on you before it allows a message to be left. read more

I breezed through a very short line. There were three counter people working who were all business like but friendly at the same time. I know post offices can get hectic but you should expect that when you go to one. Mailed a CD to Reno and purchased a soft pack envelope for a total of $3.47. All in all I'm happy with the visit. Slow lines, as usual but the staff is always amazing and they really take their time with everyone. I know that can cause the line to be slow moving and make other customers frustrated. But everyone should have time on their side when they go to any post office because the service is always the same, customer oriented for needs. I usually love the US post office. In fact, I'm over 50 now and until I moved to Rancho Cordova I can't think of a single time in my life that I didn't get mail intended for me, to my knowledge. So I would give the US postal service 5 stars. I thought it was like that everywhere, until I moved to Rancho Cordova. I bought a locking mailbox due to crime in the area (not the post office's fault there is crime of course), and the people who deliver my mail constantly leave my mail halfway in the box, hanging out, so it doesn't get locked up though I have paid for a locking box. I put in three different label reminders to make sure the mail drops, and they refuse to put the mail all the way inside! Yesterday the daily mail email showed a card in the mail from my mother, probably for father's day. It never arrived. That's one of several pieces of mail I've had lost, and ONLY living in Rancho Cordova over the past few years. The mail person changes constantly here, I guess nobody likes working at this office. And they sometimes don't deliver mail until 6pm at night, which is completely absurd. So I can't give them anything but 1 star, if that. This location is always busy, and I mean always. It is nice that they provide self serve kiosks for those that do not want to wait in line, but the kiosks have some bugs too. They refused to take one of my cards! It was so annoying, I had to re-enter all the information because it did not like my card. Boo! But other than that, this place is pretty good... I always FEAR being embarrassed by this older Asian Male employee with glasses that works behind the desk whenever I come here. He is probably on his 50s or 60s. He would always be yelling at people whenever I come here. I'm surprised no one has ever complained. One day I got to the post office with a huge line, he was yelling at a customer and everyone was staring at him in disbelief, as soon as he was done with him, it was my turn to be helped and he immediately says "YOU DON'T LIVE HERE" when he saw the return address on my packages. (I have multiple addresses in between residential and businesses) and I always use my business address as a return address which is not in this city. I told him "I do live here, that's just my return address you're looking at" HE CONTINUED TO INSIST! RAISING HIS VOICE AT ME IN FRONT OF EVERYONE STARING AT ME "WELL YOU DON'T LIVE HERE, DON'T SAY YOU LIVE HERE CAUSE IT'S A DIFFERENT ADDRESS" I WAS IN SERIOUS SHOCK AS TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING. This was definitely none of this person or any one's business as to where I want my mail to be returned. AND embarrass and yell at you in front of others. I can not believe people would treat customers this way. And I can not believe he's getting away with doing this to people. This location is running a fraud and false postage charges and should be under investigation. I shipped a package 12x12x12 with 4lbs weight with no surcharge postage. My client first was told by the staff that no surcharge on a shipping label means that the shipper didn't pay the postage. When I opened a case with USPS than supervisor from this location called and mentioned the charge was because I wrote FRAGILE on the shipping box. I know how the packages are tossed around during transit and due to handmade nature of my item, I always mention fragile on shipping boxes and never in 10 years I have ever been charged for this. Than another person calls me that the charge of $33.55 was because my package measures 12.5x12x12 when I showed the pictures sent to me by my client that the package is 12x12x12, I was told that their measuring tape shows 12.5 and they do not care what is printed on the shipping box by the manufacturer. When asked to send me a picture of measurement, I was told that USPS is not liable to send any pictures of proof. Are you kidding me? You are charging someone $33.55 on top on $19 shipping already paid and you cannot sent the PROOF. This charge should have been made through proper channels where an investigation can be done. One excuse after another and without proof they are literally running false charges and these should be verified by federal government. read more

I was just at the post office and had a pink slip for a pickup. I rang the bell at the window 3 times. No one opened the window. I then wait in a looooong line. When I get to the front, a guy who works there told me to go back to the window and ring the bell again. I told him no one was opening the door and I already rang it. He insisted. By this time I'm a little annoyed because they refused to help me after I waiting in line for a long time. I go back to the window and there's already a line forming because no one is opening the window. Finally someone decides to open the window and starts helping people. I was super nervous about coming to the post office as I had just moved to the area and had no idea what "community mailboxes" were. It was busy and I was not in a rush so I had no problem waiting in line, but the employees were very diligent and called for back up when they saw 3 people gather behind me (I was second in line). Genesis came from the back and was very quick to call the next customer in line and thank them for their patience. I also was waited on Genesis and she was very pleasant in taking down my information to get me access to my new mailbox. However, a gentleman whose name I did not catch was what really impressed me! As I was providing my information, the man overhead my new address and recognized the area and took the liberty to pull me aside and personally hand me my keys to my new mailbox. Had I gone anywhere else at any other time of the day I was sure to experience a major headache with getting keys to my new mailbox. Like I said I forgot to catch his name but I am so very grateful for the polite man who helped me at this post office and will definitely return! read more

My mailbox lock is broken. Called the post office and no one ever picks up the phone. Went in to let them know and tells me that that the mailman needs to check the lock. Talked to the mailman and says to me what do they want me to do, they need to have someone come down and fix the lock. They took my key and it's been over a week and still not able to get my mail. Rancho Cordova (95670/95741) is the WORST post office in my postal experience. I am 50 years old. There customer service is nonexistent, so if you want delay times of a week or more to get your regular mail then go sign up at 95670. This is ongoing and difficult to deal with, changing an address is expensive for business and creates havoc on a persons life when Important mail is late. WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER. THE MANAGER, Joan M Commerfor, dont know what customer service is. I went to get my refund for shipping cost of total 3 packages, because they are not been delivered on time, so USPS should cover that. I was waiting the manager for about 15 minutes, then she came to me and said that can not refund me, because i dont have payment proof. She said when i give ger a proof of payment, they can get me a refund. I said ok, i went to my office, printed out the proof of payment and then came back. Then the manager left the office and i was talking with front desk. The woman at the front desk said that she left the office (event if it was 3pm) and she said that the manager told her that they cant get me a refund, because all online shippings request should do through the phone. So i spent like 1 hour total at the office, trying to get a refund. My biggest concern is why she wouldn't tell me that at the beginning?? I went to the USPS refund website and it says: " for a priority mail express you must make your request at your local Post Office™.". I'm very surprised to see people give this one more than one star. They don't even deserve the one star either. Please let me be very clear here. I have no fuss on those who work at the counter. Some of them are friendlier than the other. However, they get the job done. Unfortunately, their supervisor is the culprit. I witnessed not once or twice but three of the four times that I've been to this post office. I'm about to go there now. The waiting time is terrible. The clerks can only do to a point. However, every time they need help, a lady supervisor would come out with a very mean look. The supervisor looks like she wanted to eat those clerks. I'm not making this up and serious. It's unbelievable. I have to wait atleast 30 minutes to get to the counter where I spent maybe about 5*10 minutes. If I don't have to be there, I wouldn't. There are things that I have to use at the post office. If I can avoid it, FED EX is the place. I would spend more money at the FedEx that we can trust. I purchased stuffs online. They sometimes came through USPS, USPS, and ofcourse FEDEX. I have never been disappointed with FedEx, not even once. USPS and UPS are getting there. They leave the packages at the door without even ring the bell. They don't care. I have a co worker who retired from the post office. He used to be a manager of a processing plant. He has been telling me about their QC. According to him, USPS spends so much money to have outside and inside quality control on their operation. My question is why the USPS is still a bad service that most people can say all over the country. FedEx started not too long ago. Why can they make so much money while the post office is loosing money. I'm sorry. Government regulation is not a good excuse to run the post office to the ground. The consumer can tell you what it is right away. If you provide a service that they like, they will use it. If you do it lousy like you have been doing, then you are lousy. Very poor phone service at this post office. I kept calling over a one hour period to book an appointment for my son to get a passport. The phone would just ring and ring. It was finally answered and I explained why I was calling and was then put on hold for 15 minutes with silence. Just as I was about to hang up, someone else gets on the line and rudely asks why I am calling. I explain and she says that's fine but I will have to bring a picture with me. When we did my daughter's passport they took the picture there, so I politely asked if the rules had changed and she said yes, 8 years ago. (My daughter is 3). Anyway, I asked if other offices take passport photos for infants and she said yes and hung up. All that effort and I called the Folsom office instead to be greeted with a much friendlier person. Also, anytime I come into this post office they seem to be way understaffed and the people have never been particularly nice to deal with. read more
