Mailed 2 boxes, about $40 each. 1 box arrived torn, with missing items, the other box never arrived, instead, received a package that is not mine with MY label attached. so, my other box, has no label, and was never delivered. Employee was rushing me during my transaction. I will be walking in there tomorrow, not happy, which is why i regret using USPS, my prefered is UPS for this reason. very upsetting when the items in the boxes are worth over $350 read more

The good thing about this post office is that the employees are very friendly. The problem is that it is tiny (made me feel a bit claustrophobic, which is hard for me to do). Also, it seems like it's falling apart a bit and they're using duct tape to keep it together. My father just found out the NINE letters containing checks mailed here are GONE, presumed STOLEN. He mailed them INSIDE this PO two weeks ago. No checks have reached their destination, none have cleared the bank. So where are they? To the guy who thinks it's impossible for an inside job: How else can a theft be explained after mail was entrusted to the USPS to do the job we expect, to safely delivery our mail? It's their responsibility no matter how the theft went down. To the guy who had the same thing: Write & let me know what happened! My father filed a claim with USPS for stolen mail. Will they recover his costs to stop payment on checks, late fees or other charges incurred? Yah right.... I've always had a bad feeling about this post office. "Ghetto & sketchy" are words used by others and I definitely agree! The few times I've stood in line, I was amazed at how slooooowwww service was. My business can generally be accomplished by using an automated machine, but alas there is no such convenience here. Not even a vending machine for stamps. Went in today to ship a package internationally. The office is handling the pandemic restrictions efficiently and conveniently for the customers. They limit number of people inside to few (the rest line up outside), service each person in line quickly and politely. This USPS office is aged, and they don't have electronic checkouts etc. But they have the essentials and it's great for what I would need for my shipping needs. read more

WOW, Never have I been to such a HIGH SECURITY PO! 2 inch thick bullet proof glass?! Should I even stand in line without a Teflon vest?! There is always a huge long line. You bump into people when turning around to leave, the layout is ridiculous! The mailboxes outside, need a WIDER SLOT to put a LITTLE THICKER packages in...but noooo! and NO INSIDE PACKAGE DROP SLOT either...at least make THAT one WIDER/BIGGER! My dealings with the staff have been ok. But they're almost always savagely understaffed and cramped. Also, the three mailboxes outside all usually have sticky residue stuck in the intake. Making it impossible to put your mail in. And if you do get it in, it'll be covered in gunk. I'm sure it's just from kids. But it's disgusting. read more

This place is gross. It is absolutely filthy. The floors are dirty and everything is well worn. It's obvious our tax payer dollars aren't going here. There is always a line so plan to wait at least 15-20 minutes. Their only saving grace are their employees. Always professional and friendly. Skip this post office if you can. From what I hear - - They are getting ready to install some type of keypad system so that you can gain access after hours. Apparently there were "issues" with leaving the doors unlocked. Go figure Maybe that will alleviate some of the anxiety people are having with getting in on small lunch breaks/etc. I seriously doubt it will have any bearing on waiting lines. read more

If there was an option to give the North Redondo Beach post office zero stars for non-service, I would have picked that. Here are just a few highlights of their "service" from the past 12 months: (a) a legal notice I mailed, paying for certified with tracking, has disappeared. I filed a complaint, they sent me periodic emails that they were searching for the letter, then acknowledged it was lost. The kicker: the recipient's address is a mere 5 blocks from the post office. They can't even get deliveries in their own neighborhood right. (b) I am getting letters, including credit card statements, from 2021, delivered in my post box now. I know Covid's the universal excuse--but if this post office is incapable of delivering time-sensitive materials in a timely manner, best to close shop. (c) Rude service. When I took a delivery slip dated June 2021 that was left in my p,o. box to the counter, the clerk glared at me and threw the slip in the trash--as if it was my job to deliver mail and packages on time, and I had somehow failed in my duty. read more

On 7/5/2013 my wife and I walked to the North Redondo Beach Post Office, 13 blocks from our house, to deposit 5 letters; our monthly mortgage payment, a life insurance payment, a check for our gardener, and two charitable donations. The letters were personally placed, by myself, DIRECTLY into the outgoing mail slot INSIDE the Post Office. Completely normal, and completely safe, correct? WRONG! A short time later a charge appeared against our checking account for $800.00. Having not spent that amount on anything, I was confused and concerned. To make a very long story short, our five letters had been STOLEN, once they were in the possession of the United States Postal Service. Our mortgage check had been "washed" and altered from its original amount and payee to the amount of $800.00 and a new payee, and then cashed. How do I know the rest of the mail was affected? None of the other letters made it to their respective destinations either. So, two conclusions can be drawn from this: 1) All five envelopes had been stolen AFTER they were in the care of the North Redondo Beach Post Office. 2) Since all five pieces of mail were affected, it is impossible for the mortgage check to have been stolen upon reaching its destination. This points in only one direction; Inside Job. Now, before readers think that I am disparaging a time honored American institution, let me say this. The Fraud Investigator handing this case for my bank stated quite casually that this sort of thing happens all the time! I'm not pointing the finger directly at the North Redondo Beach Post Office, BUT, there is the small matter of "chain of custody". Once the letters were in the possession of the United States Postal Service, that entity became legally and morally responsible for them. Could some outsider somehow have reached into a loading bin while a Postal worker's eyes were turned? Sure! Will I ever be hit by lightening, win the lottery, or set foot on Mars? Sure, anything can happen. When pigs fly. Upon visiting the North Redondo Beach Post Office to file a complaint, the workers there were unimpressed and unconcerned, handing my wife a small piece of paper with a number to call. The slip of paper was the product of multiple generations of photocopying, and was treated as a universal "get out of jail free card". The paper directed us to call an 800 number to report the incident. The North Redondo Post Office folks had divorced themselves from any responsibility. Ben Franklin would be sobbing right now. Two dramatic changes have come from this incident: 1) I will never set foot in the North Redondo Post Office again. 2) All our future payments are now set up and handled by our bank's Bill Pay system. I save a ton on postage stamps, and reduce the risk of another "washed" check. BEWARE South Bay residents. Look at all the 1 star reviews. I assure you all these people can't be wrong. This post office is horrible. The building resembles a third world country. The lines are always long and the service is incredibly slow. I have never seen all three windows staffed. Postal clerk "Mike" is the worst of the worst. The union contract must dictate that he cannot assist more than 2 customers per hour. And what is up with the handmade sign that says they won't accept a package weighing over 25 pounds? They instruct customers to take their packages to the post office on Catalina. Isn't that what we pay the post office for? To deliver packages.... Now I print all my postage at home. If, for some reason, I can't complete my transaction at home, I take my mail to the AIM Mail Center on Aviation Blvd. There is never a line there and the service is 100 times better than the post office. read more

Why is this office staffed with incompetent employees for lack of a better word? I have now spoken with 5 different people and have multiple times asked for my issue to be escalated and allegedly it was. I have recently moved away from this post office and filled out a change of address form, since day one they have refused to forward my mail. I called again and again and again and they found that I did everything right and that my postal worker/person was refusing to forward my mail to the new address, instead they were returning it back to the sender telling them there was no forwarding address. USPS said multiple times they would look in to it and although I had already lost some packages which were returned to sender without my knowledge at least I was going to get future mail. This seems to have only lasted a few days and then I was again no longer getting mail, again I called and again I started to receive some mail... 5 calls later it started working... I just walked in to my office and I have a letter from my work that was returned to them just a few days ago. HOW FUCKING INCOMPETENT IS THIS OFFICE? I am so livid I can't even type. You are being collectively judged by your weakest link, that is not my fault it is yours. If you have to fire someone DO IT, if you can't fire them for whatever bureaucratic reason then I go back to my statement of you collectively being incompetent. Yes your job is difficult, but it is in no way complicated... all of our jobs are difficult but some of us seem to be able to manage it. Get your shit together. read more

I love extremely close and can walk to this office. I have shipped hundreds of packages over the last few years. I have always dropped them off in the blue mail boxes after hours with out any problem. Recently, 4 different packages were lost and never scanned or received. It's an inside job and someone is stealing these packages from this post office. I now make the drive and use Manhattan Beach with out any incident. There are two things that need to be clarified about this Post Office according to the reviews I've been reading: 1. This Post Office has bullet proof windows because fyi it has been burglarized twice in the past. Being in Redondo Beach does not always mean it is safe all the time, North Redondo is not the best area in Redondo, you want safety then move to south Redondo! 2. To the guy that says his mail got stolen and it was an inside job... Dude you need to check you facts, you can't be accusing people of that. Postal workers make good money and very seldom times have risk their jobs for a little bit of extra cash. But I will tell you, In the past year or so many boxes around the south bay have been broken into, how? well Can't say, but these cases have been reported to the police and there's an ongoing investigation. Just stopped by the post office to mail something. It is 12:20 in the afternoon. There is a sign that they are closed for lunch until 1:30. According to the website, they are open until 5. No indication that they are closed for over an hour for a lunch break. Lunchtime is when a lot of people take care of these errands. Frustrating. read more

This post office is the worse I hate going there and it's located just behind my home. Customer service it's the worse you feel like you did something wrong questions are answer in a bad manner those people working there need to be retrain in customer service. I had a PO box for my business, but even for personal mail they placed an address change notification from my street address to the PO box. This was easier for them, they don't have to carry the mail to my address. Now that I stopped the PO BOX, I submitted a change of address to have all mail sent to my street address and mailed it to this station, per the instructions at the USPS website. After four days, the letter I mailed to the post office was returned to me as undeliverable!!!!! I also routinely get my neighbor's mail even though the address is clearly different from mine. read more

There's plenty of parking in the back and street parking. I was there to drop of packages for friends so I wasn't thrilled to begin with since I knew there'd be a line and I was right. I waited at least half an hour to get to the front of the line. The shipping labels are against the wall near the postal check people are, which is not a good location for people who need to fill them out prior to getting to the front of the line. The people were nice, but not fast like at the Orange County post offices. They have mailboxes of course, recycling bin, packaging, envelopes, etc. A lot of people didn't know how to mail a package so that held up the line also. The place seemed decent, not like super clean, but moderately clean and things were where they should be. Wish it was bigger so it didn't feel as crammed in when you are in line. read more

I have to say my experiences here been pretty mixed. Generally the postal staff tends to be pretty polite and friendly albeit generally slow. However, I couldn't help but feel a little miffed when I was walking up to drop off some packages and just happened to drive right at closing time only to have the lock the door in my face when he saw me getting out of my car with a couple of small packages. I mailed my items 3 to 4 times a week but i don't have any problem. long lines are expected because of the establishment size and often only one person in the counter. I go to this office often since it is the nearest one from my house, but numerous times I've felt insulted. There is a guy who has been there forever. He treats customers like as if he were the boss and we were whatever. Recently, I got there 3 minutes before they close, but the doors were already closed. Since my box was pretty heavy and large but ready to go, I didn't want to make a second trip. I put it at the side door and I went into the office. He scolded me as if I was a child and he was a school principal. I wanted to ask him who's the customer? If no one had volunteered to take my box, I was really going to write him up to the manager. (if there is such title as a manager who cares about customer service) Luckily, someone nice helped me. It was all about opening the door for me. He doesn't need to be such a jerk or lazy. I prefer the main office, where I can drop my boxes freely without having to ask them to open the security doors. And the people are nicer over there. read more
