I came here because I needed to ship the book that I was selling and plus it was close to my school. I came here around 5 o clock and they were still open, thank god! There was a line though. It was my first time mailing out a package so I didn't know what to do. I first got the standard flat rate box because I thought it would be better because of the commercials. When I got to the lady at the counter I told her I didn't know what I was doing and she was very helpful. She told me to get one of the envelopes to ship out the book. She saved me like half of what I was going to pay with the flat rate box. She was very patient too. I'm glad that I had gotten her, she seemed to be helping every one out on their delivery and saving them some money by recommending other sources of packaging. read more

Gosh this place may have friendly staffs but incompetent ones everywhere.. i shipped a package 3months ago to my cousin which went missing for two months and finally got delivered after my cousin bitched about it so much for 2 months, and now i shipped a Priority express mail that I paid $25 for and was supposed to be delivered in one day, didnt. It just says in-transit for days... even when it's priority express!!! Out of the two packages both packages did not get delivered on time or went missing, and even with the most expensive delivery method your package is not guaranteed to be delivered. What the fuck is this madness?? The lady that delivers my mail was so lazy that she left a missed delivery note in my mailbox at my apt complex rather than coming to my apt and knocking on the door to deliver it. The usps should be shut down . No one answers phones when you call and when you get a rep they tell you go to your local office . You go to the local office and get a 1800 number to call . We pay taxes for this bs service . Never ship anything with them items will get lost damaged or just plan stolen and with insurance they never even fulfill just a bunch of run around . Would be zero stars if possible. Several missing packages now that USPS claimed as delivered, filed multiple complaints and missing package forms. Every single time i have been told my regular driver was on vacation when my missing package was delivered. Packages have never been found and the senders will not refund the items when USPS says they were delivered. This last time, John Gonzales ( supposedly the supervisor for Riverside, CA 92504 ) assured me my package would be delivered the next morning after I had scheduled several redelivery attempts and the driver never even showed up. Big surprise, the next day the package was not delivered again. Called to talk to john and was hung up on several times by Tatiana. They can see your caller id. She only answer the third time because she thought i was someone else and told me they put my package in the storage locker. After several attempts to get ahold of " supervisor Gonzales", Tatiana assured me he had my number and message and would call me back. Never received a call back or my package. read more

Just went to the post office on 4150 Chicago Ave and it left a bad taste in my mouth! I was standing next to a customer who was Hispanic and the post office worker, Nellie (Caucasian), didn't understand that she wanted to have a required signature for her package. After the customer's transaction was over she did a hand gesture for sign, to which Nellie said "now you want a signature? You said you didn't want one." I looked over and said "firma." My Spanish is limited but I was trying to help. The customer nodded her head yes. I told Nellie you should have someone here who speaks Spanish and she replied "she (meaning the customer) should speak English." I said "No! And that's rude!" Nellie continued, I'm guessing because a supervisor (African American) was within ear shot, and said "I don't have to speak Spanish." I told her "I didn't say that what I said was you should have someone here who speaks Spanish!" I will NEVER again step foot into this post office and if you agree with my stance I suggest you don't either. This has been the primary office to go to ever since I was little . The facilities are very clean and the packages and materials are set aside accordingly so you can simply get in and get out . I would recommend getting there before 12 if you are shipping a package and what not . However , they do have a DIY kiosk for your mailing needs as well . The lines can be a bit draggy but at least you could see all of the resources the post offices has available for you . Plus the AC is very refreshing when you're dealing with California weather for most of the day . read more

The service here is friendly for the most part. This is one of the busier locations as it is near a university. The only thing I did not appreciate out of all my visits is the inconsistency with the information I receive when asking which method I should send my letters. This last visit, the friendly gentleman informed me that I can just send the letter certified for much cheaper. I became confused and told him that the last envelope I tried to send, another lady told me if I wanted to get delivery confirmation, I needed to send it priority...it didn't matter if I wanted it sent in 2 days or 5 days. He stated that it did matter, priority is only when I need it to reach a destination quickly hence the extra charge. My pet peeve is inconsistency, no matter what type of business it is. But then again, I work for the government too so in a way, I guess I should be used to it by now. read more

I live in Riverside Ca. At least once or twice a week, every week, my mail gets lost, mis-sent, damaged, rides around the city for an extra 2-3 days before it reaches me. The package I was supposed to receive yesterday had a tracking number. It said Out For Delivery. It never showed up. It said "mis-sent", went from Riverside back to San Bernardino the next morning. I called the post office to see why it would go back to the sorting facility. No answer. A few reviews I read said "why is everyone bashing the post office?" Just read these reviews! Maybe I caught them on a good day (Wednesday 10am) but I thought the service I received was excellent. I went for passport services. I did not have an appointment which is why I went to this location. They accept walk-ins from 10am-3pm. They politely directed me to the sign in sheet and was helped after a few minutes. The whole process took about 20 minutes. Not bad at all. I had a lot of paperwork for the passport application which is not the norm and they were knowledgeable in every form and supporting documents. Staff is amazing! It's incredible to see how much they help a small business owner like myself out. If you are not rude you will tend to find yourself to be treated quite nicely. Had a very good experience after the fact of having to keep contacting this location about my package being lost and not deliver to my address, but after calling in for two days to follow up with what the girls at the tracking dept. claims they were going to do to resolve my lost package situation. I finally spoke to Vic the mgr for that dept and he was very helpful and reliable he went out of his way after hours to get my package and contacted me to have me pick it up. I dread having to come here. The lines are long and the only thing consistent about its service is how awful it is. I keep coming back because it's so close to me, but every time it seems to ruin my day. And if you think the line is too long, beware the self service machine. After you've payed for your package and hit end it goes back to the start screen, so you think you would be done. But then the next person goes through their process and it doesn't ask for their credit card and it's charged to you. How stupid is it that you don't have to swipe your card again after you've gotten your postage?? The people were unhelpful with this. She said something like "I don't know how to use that." Well it's your store so you should probably figure it out. The nice lady who accidentally bought something on my card had to wait in line with me to buy something and get money back. Which we had to do anyway because the mail box was locked for no reason, rendering the self service machine and thus my ordeal useless. The lack of service is incredible here, I have not dealt with such an incapable business as the post office. On top of that they're rude and extremely unprofessional. They lost (although they won't admit it) an order that had a 2 day priority with a delivery date. I finally received the package after my event and then they wouldn't pick up the phone. I went to this office and after the man arguing with me, he finally takes my package and tells me to write "refuse". Almost 2 weeks later, I get the package re-delivered back to me!!! Really???! Could only go here for my passport. Drove over an hour to get here. Arrived at 11:30. Passport hours are 10-2 on Saturday. Was told "Sorry, we stopped. We did 25 and that's the limit." The counter person took my information regarding a missing package and promised that her supervisor will investigate and call me back. 24 hours later no call so I went back asking about the progress in the matter , I was given the brush off again. This time the supervisor was on the phone, in a meeting, and performing a bunch of other tasks so it was going to be an hour wait just to ask him a question. Needless to say the matter is not resolved. I ordered a bottle of cologne from Amazon and it was counterfeit. Thankfully, they refunded my money, no questions asked. So then I did what I should have done to begin with, and placed an online order for the same cologne with Macy's. I typically purchase it at Macy's but the Amazon price was much better (and now we all know why). Big oops, Macy's sent the package to my old address. My mail was being forwarded but this particular retailer used SurePost. For those of you who don't know, SurePost starts out with your package being shipped via UPS, then the post office takes over and delivers it "the last mile". Apparently there's big savings in shipping using this method. My package was delivered to my old address "front step". I called Macy's. I call UPS. I called the Post office 800 number. It didn't take me long to figure out that I probably wasn't going to get my very expensive bottle of cologne. Then I tried the Post office on Chicago Ave. If you can believe it, an actual real life employee answered the phone. She put me in touch with Vincent, a supervisor. Great guy, super nice. I explained my situation and found out that since Surepost is delivered by the post office, my mail forward should forward my Macy's package as well. He said with all the recent route changes, some of the carriers aren't aware of forwards. He said he'd contact the mail carrier at my old house and get back to me. And he did, later that night. He located my package and was going to have it delivered to my house the next day. I was blown away. I told him I would pick it up at the post office and to just hang onto it. He said okay, when you come in, ask for Julie and she'll give you your package. I went in the next morning and waited in line for about 10 minutes. There was an employee behind the counter who was very kind and going the extra mile for folks. Her name was Theresa. I let her know she was awesome. She retrieved my package from Julie and I was done. I didn't actually get to meet Julie but my package was on her desk, just like Vincent said it would be. Great attitudes, great customer service. I order a package and in tracking it was crushed when I saw it was being delivered you USPS. I knew I would not be getting it for the simple fact that the postman on this route(Kirkwood and Main) in Riverside has got to be one of the laziest individual. I should have gone out and stood at the mail boxes. He for sure was not going to bring it to the door. The package is for my Granddaughters Bday sleep over and part of the entertainment. Now the update says it was undeliverable at the address provided, which by the way is accurate (same one I get my other mail at)and I deliberately sat on the couch by the door the entire day. I'm not one that normally writes reviews but this post office really sucks. I went online to pay my PO Box payment and got locked out of my account. I entered the correct password but apparently missed one of the security questions. I call the post office to request help but the customer service representative tells me I can't reset my account or pay my bill without coming into the PO office. On another occasion, I speak to a customer service representative about setting up a business PO Box for an LLC and she gives me specific instructions on how go to the USPS office and set it up. I get there and it's a totally different story. I'm met by an abrupt woman at the counter who tells me I can't do it despite what I was told. I understand the importance of safety and confidentiality but it's frustrating when legitimate customers are locked out of their own accounts and can't get reasonable help. Geez. I'm done! read more
